My friend, I and our spouses was shown around Tokyo for 8 hours on Sun 9 Sep 2018. Ms Riko arrived promptly at the hotel we stayed to meet us. I will not write on every details of our 8 hours walking tour except to comment that the places of interest that Ms Riko had chosen in her planned itinerary were much to our likings. Overall we are very pleased with Ms Riko being our guide to Tokyo for the day. She was very attentive to all our needs and is very knowledgeable. Ms Riko is an EXCELL... view more
Kahoko made us feel comfortable and really showed us all the different areas of Tokyo city. We came to have a better understanding of Japanese life and customs. We got to experience and shop the different food and retail markets It was a great experience. We never could have done it on our own view more
Our driver, Chris, was on-time, very well-informed and offered good suggestions for additional sightseeing. His English was very understandable and he was a wonderful source of information. If we ever have a future opportunity for this service, we would definitely use Tokyo Chartered Cars and request Chris for our driver. We highly recommend this service. view more
We enjoyed our day in Nara with Kazuhiko. He was very accommodating to meet us at a subway station we were going to be near instead of our hotel. His English is very good as is his knowledge. He is personable and always looked out for our safety with cars, etc. when our tour was over he took the train back with us and made sure we would easily return to our hotel. Also in the weeks before the tour he communicated promptly whenever I had questions. view more
We had an excellent day with Mari who customised our 5 hour tour to suit. Mari has very good communication skills and gave clear instructions for our travel from Kobe port to Kyoto Station. Her organisation of our time in Kyoto was excellent suggesting various modes of travel to navigate the city. We visited Fushimi Inari-taisha and the Golden pavilion. We had lunch at Kyoto CBD and then a walking tour through the market area and the Gion. We highly recommend Mari. view more
We are first time Tokyo visitors and Makiko was invaluable in helping us get our bearings. The itinerary she designed was varied and delightful, and her knowledge of Japanese history provided context for the things she showed us. Along the way, she taught us how to use the subway and even helped us purchase rail tickets for the rest of our travels in Japan! Makiko’s thoughtfulness, knowledge and wonderful personality made a first day in Japan very special. We would highly recommend her as... view more
Akira was an expert guide. He was flexible as the day progressed and made changes as we talked and walked. My 33 year old son lives in San Francisco and loves coffee so Akira suggested we visit a coffeehouse which was the Blue Bottle coffee inspiration in Japan. He took us to an off the tourist route lunch counter for fresh fish, We saw Sumo wrestlers at their morning practice. He was kind, aware of walking paces and just a delight to spend the day with. Highly recommend! view more
This tour was the first of two tours that I took with Kazumi and it was great. Kazumi arrived at my hotel at the prearranged time and we took a taxi to Hiroshima JR train station, then we took the Ferry to Miyajima Island. When we arrived, it was high tide and water covered the entire base of the Itsukushima Shrine and you could not walk to the shrine. After a short lunch, it was off to Mt Misen and after two tram rides, we were ready to hike to the top of Mt Misen. Kazumi indicated that ... view more
