This was our first trip to Japan and my wife and I arrived on October 6, 2018. We arrived at Yokohama by cruise ship on a 19 night transpacific cruise from Vancouver. As soon as we cleared customs, Makiko was there waiting for us. Because we spent many hours back and forth by email over the previous 6 or 7 months planning the itinerary with Makiko for this 5 day tour of Tokyo and the surrounding areas, it felt like we were meeting an old friend because of her warm and caring welcome. My wife... view more

We spent 2 days with Koichiro on a food lovers adventure. We had a few off the beaten paths requests and Koichiro by far exceeded our expectations. The planning of the trip and welcoming nature of Koichiro made our first trip to Tokyo feel like we had a friend in town to show us around. Koji has wonderful communications skills and takes great care for all of your needs and requests. view more

Tak could not have packed more information and sights into our day. He provides answers to every question and interjects much into the history of the Kamakura area. He is extremely personal and very energetic but carefully watched to make sure the pace he was setting was the correct one. He provided detailed information on the transportation from our hotel in Tokyo to the meeting place in Kita-Kamakura. view more

We had an excellent day in the Fuji area of Japan with Motoyuki. He was very friendly and informative. We visited the 5th Station on Mount Fuji and went for a walk beneath the slopes. Unfortunately due to the ever-present Fuji clouds, we didn't get a great view of the mountain, but it was very atmospheric and almost haunting. From there we had an authentic Japanese-style lunch - we tried a number of new foods, not all to our palates, but it was certainly an experience. Moto will help you feel at... view more
