Eriko was tour guide for our family in Tokyo for 2 days in late July. We were delighted with her proficiency in English, her knowledge and her skillful perspective of Japanese matters to the world we know. She was very adept in changing plans according to our wishes as we were going along so we got a truly tailor-made tour including a nice mix of traditional and modern Japan. Obviously Eriko is a beautiful and stylish young Japanese woman. She is also charming, serviceminded and very easy to talk to. We quickly got to feel as if she was part of our family. I guess the only hard part was saying goodbye after the two days. Arigato, Eriko.
Thank you Karsten for taking the time to write a great review. I really enjoyed sharing my love of Tokyo with you all and also learning about your wonderful culture! So grateful to have been part of your visit to Japan. Arigato and see you again in Copenhagen :)
We had a one day private tour with Eriko. We communicated through the Triole Lights website several times before our tour and she was very accommodating as to what we wanted to see and do on our tour. Eriko met us at our hotel beautifully dressed. She helped us navigate the subway/rail system and took us to the fish market, a Buddhist fire ceremony, Harajuku, a wonderful little restaurant where we had a private room, and the Kawaii Monster Cafe. She was delightful to speak with and we had a great time with her. Her English is excellent. Thank you Eriko! -Jennifer & Gail

Eriko knows the city and culture so well and spent time taking me to interesting places - loved our tour.
Thank you so much Carrie! What a joy to show you around Tokyo. I'm very grateful I got to spend the day with you. Enjoy your summer! Your friend, Eriko
When I was planning my Tokyo trip, my original goal was to discover everything on my own. At the last minute I decided to do a half day tour (plus one hour) as an orientation. I am so glad that I did. Eriko was so helpful in not only showing me around Tokyo but also providing additional information for the rest of my stay. After meeting in my hotel lobby, we went to the Fish Market that was nearby. While I could have walked and saw this on my own, Eriko provided historical and present information that I would not have known otherwise. She was also helpful in communicating with the merchants. From the market we attended a ceremony at a Buddhist temple. By knowing to get there early, we were able to walk around and see the temple as well as preparation for the ceremony while explaining what I would see. This inside information is the value of a guide and because this was not a group tour, I could ask questions and dialogue as needed without feeling like I was holding up others. The weather prevented visiting the Imperial Palace and Garden, but we modified our plans to visit indoors locations. We visited a standing sake bar, where I was able to try different types of sake and even had a great conversation and photos with a couple of local residents. The remainder of the tour was spent in Akihabara area. This allowed me to see old and new video games (both in stores and arcades) as well as browse the many anime related stores. I also learned about the many different types of unique cafes in the area. During my tour I got some wonderful photos including photos that Eriko was kind enough to take of me. The great thing is while this tour was based on things I wanted to see, I was also exposed to things along the way that I may never have thought of or seen. One of many examples of this was when Eriko pointed out the yellow lines along sidewalks and intersections being a resource for blind citizens to navigate because there are not many service dogs. I probably would not have noticed this without it being pointed out. In a future visit, I would not hesitate to book with Eriko again, because it would be completely different yet I know that I would gain more knowledge. There are different types or tours that are tailored to your interests. I chose a couple of destinations and trusted Eriko to show me other places that I may not have learned about on Google.

We enjoyed touring with Eriko. Our 12 year old son enjoyed the modern sites of Tokyo, and Eriko took us mainly to Odaiba. She speaks perfect English and very knowledgeable.
