We met Rick at the Fushimi Inari shrine. During our tour of Kyoto, we changed our minds often on what we wanted to do next. Rick was easy to work with, and adapted and attended to all our needs. His knowledge of Kyoto is deep as he was born here and has lived his whole life here. The day we met Rick, the heat in Kyoto was 38 C.... but Rick kept us cool, listening and attending to all our needs...

We had a fab day with Rick, starting really early to avoid the crowd and the heat. We enjoyed Rick’s knowledge about the city history and traditions, and understood much more about religion and temples thanks to him. It was great to discover Kyoto with Rick’s help. He also took good care of us and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience that we would definitely recommend.

Rick was kind, patient, and very knowledgable. He came up with a custom itinerary to see everything we wanted, as well as a some other things, and a great lunch restaurant that he suggested. We had a great day with Rick, highly recommended!
Dear David, Thank you very much for your nice review! I am glad that you enjoyed the tour and the lunch. All of your members were so friendly and cooperative with the tour that I really appreciate. It was a nice timing when you come to Kyoto where the Gion festival were held. I hope I will see you and your members again in Kyoto someday. Best Regards, Rick
We spent the day of the Gion festival with Rick, who was a knowledgeable, well-informed guide to some well-chosen spots around the city. We started off wanting to see the famous parade of "floats," actually rolling carriages with drummers, musicians, and community members. Rick figured out a strategy of going to several spots along the route where we would have the best viewing opportunities, which worked out quite well. He was also flexible in adjusting the path when we decided to change the route once. Along the way, he led us through a historic district between the river and the canal which included part of the entertainment district; we saw the theatre where geiko and maiko perform, quaint little streets, and numerous young people hurrying through the streets in traditional clothing. ... read more
Dear Peter, Thank you very much for your nice and warm review! I am so glad that you memorized every detail of the tour. It was lucky that we were able to follow the floats of Gion festival with nice timing and also we saw a Maiko walking in Ponto-cho alley. I am also glad that you liked the restaurant and I suppose you enjoyed the buffet of Kyoto vegetables with the main dish. Everything went well thanks for you and your families' cooperation and I really appreciate it. I look forward to seeing you again in Kyoto in near future. Best Regards, Rick
Rick met us at hotel and we were off for Monkey Mountain, temple and bamboo grove followed by lunch. Rick was very kind, generous and patient with our family of five (two adults and three younger kids). Would highly recommend!
Dear Brent, Thank you very much for your nice review! I am so glad to be with you as a guide and have helped you touring Arashiyama area. You and your families are so nice and I enjoyed a lot especially at the Monkey park. During the tour, I remembered the days when my daughter was the same age of your children and that made me feel more familiar with all of you. I wish your touring Japan be memorable and safe trip back home. Best regards, Rick
