I am a professional English tour guide. Originally, I was born and have been living in the southern part of Kyushu, and have been working at the regional bank here for 30 years. Therefore, I know this area thoroughly, such as history, culture, nature, lifestyles, people, etc.
On weekends, I am usually absorbed in activities related to modern and traditional foods with my wife as well as guiding tourists. I love to roast coffee, grow vegetables and herbs, fillet fish and arrange Sashimi, make buckwheat noodles, smoke fish and meat, etc. As traditional annual events, I make pickled plums (Umeboshi) in early summer, soybean paste (Miso) in Autumn, rice cakes (Mochi) at the end of year, etc. I have a lot of knowledge and experience about local dishes as well as Japanese dishes (Washoku), so that I am confident to fascinate tourists because I believe all of them are highly interested in eating local dishes.
※ If you like, I will guide you with my wife Emiko for the group of females or family, elderly people to this tour. Her English is basic, but I am sure she can be of your great help.
Furthermore, upon request, I will invite you to my house, and serve home cooking my wife prepares while explaining about Japanese lifestyles.

Hi MJ, Thank you very much for your great comment. I and my wife also enjoyed sharing time with you all in Kagoshima and my house, and we learned a lot of things from you. I believe you have become to love Japan a lot more. Please take care of yourself and visit Japan again in the near future. Sincerely, Koichi
My family had a chance to visit the lovely Mt Aso and kamishikimi kumanoimasu shrine with Koichi-san in April. Koichi-san was attentive before the trip, and he also messaged us via Triplelights to ask our preferences and recommended us some local food to try during our trip in Kagoshima/Kumamoto. He was friendly and we were also pleasantly surprised when he informed he just recently bought the transport (his car). We were honoured to be his first guests in his new car. His english is good, and we would recommend him as a guide
Thank you very much for your comment. I also had a wonderful day traveling Aso with your family. All of your family were so kind and I myself enjoyed that day. I hope your family visit Japan again and have more wonderful experiences. I also hope health of all your family members. Sincerely, Koichi
