I was born and grew up in Osaka, later lived in Tokyo, then the UK and Singapore, and now I live in Kyoto. I have more than 15 years of experience working in a multinational corporation and now I am working as a national licensed guide interpreter, as well as a City of Kyoto visitors host guide.
One of my hobbies is travelling abroad and so far I have visited more than fifty countries.
Kyoto is the cultural center of Japan and has great historical importance. I can offer you unique experiences in this beautiful city, which can include visits to traditional Japanese gardens, ancient temples and shrines designated as world heritage sites, authentic Japanese cultural experiences such as the tea ceremony, sake tasting at local breweries, and exploring food markets. With a flexible approach, I can help you personalize your agenda.
I will endeavor to make sure that you will have an enjoyable and memorable trip.
I look forward to guiding you here in Kyoto.

Kyoto tour was good except it finished earlier bc of rain. We were told of alternate areas to be visited however were not taken there so was disappointed.
We just completed 2 days with Katsuko In Kyoto. She is well travelled and her English is excellent Her knowledge on all the sites we visited was outstanding and our brief of wanting to visit traditional Japanese gardens was delivered to our full satisfaction . We moved around Kyoto in buses , trains and taxis to make the most of our time. She booked an amazing restaurant for lunch in Kifune (after liaison with us ) that had platforms over the river where tables are set up.The food was traditional Japanese and delicious. We were most impressed with Katsuko and would definitely recommend her for any guide work in Kyoto.
Katsuko is a brilliant tour guide. She is so friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and patient. I had told her the places we wanted to see, and she planned the most efficient ways for us to travel. As we toured each site she told us many interesting facts about the history and culture. I just wish I could remember it all! I would definitely recommend booking a tour with Katsuko.
We enjoyed a nice 4hours city tour of Kyoto with Katsuko. She guided us very well through the interesting sites of Kyoto and gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant for lunch. Thanks Katsuko!
We highly recommend Katsuko. We saw some major highlights in a 6 hour window. Her English was excellent, and she was so organized and relaxed in getting us to places. She shared excellent information with us. She stayed right on schedule so we could make it back to our cruise ship in Kobe. Our tour with Katsuko was the highlight of our trip.
