I was born and grew up in Osaka, later lived in Tokyo, then the UK and Singapore, and now I live in Kyoto. I have more than 15 years of experience working in a multinational corporation and now I am working as a national licensed guide interpreter, as well as a City of Kyoto visitors host guide.
One of my hobbies is travelling abroad and so far I have visited more than fifty countries.
Kyoto is the cultural center of Japan and has great historical importance. I can offer you unique experiences in this beautiful city, which can include visits to traditional Japanese gardens, ancient temples and shrines designated as world heritage sites, authentic Japanese cultural experiences such as the tea ceremony, sake tasting at local breweries, and exploring food markets. With a flexible approach, I can help you personalize your agenda.
I will endeavor to make sure that you will have an enjoyable and memorable trip.
I look forward to guiding you here in Kyoto.

We were very lucky to have Katsuko as our tour guide. We communicated with her prior to our tour and she was able to plan our day to see the sites we wanted to see. She was punctual, organized and informative. Katsuko was very knowledgeable about the history of each site. She checked in with us regularly to see how we were doing. We really enjoyed our lunch at an excellent restaurant on the Philosoher’s trail.

My teenage son and I spent 1.5 days with Katsuko in Kyoto - we visited Nishiki market, Nara, and my son got her to bring us to specific places he wanted to shop. Katsuko is very kind, patient and incredibly helpful. She shared insights into Kyoto and life in Japan. She is very professional and adjusted our schedule on the fly to suit our energy levels and immediate needs. Be sure to book her in advance for Kyoto. Katsuko: thank you so much for your help with our visit to Kyoto. We will see you again for all the other sights in Kyoto that we didn’t have time for!
