“ Fun and informative Day ”

Had a really fun and informative day with Yoko. We started and ended on time even with a very aggressive schedule of activities. Yoko was pleasant and had taken considerable time to pre plan the day to ensure my desired touring locations were all achieved. I would certainly recommend her.

Yoko:

Thank you so much for your review. Well, your hotel was a little too south to finish on time, but we can squeeze in many places. We visited Imperial Palace Plaza with the view of Double Bridge instead of the Imperial Palace. Please visit the Imperial Palace when you become one of the US's dignitaries some day. There are still so much places to see in Tokyo and we can also see the Great Buddha of Kamakura, so I will be waiting for you to come with your wife on vacation. BTW, the icecream flavor that we had as dessert is the same flavor that President Obama called "unforgettable.":-)

“ Day trip to Nikko ”

Yoko was great. We had a lovely rainy day in Nikko. The rain didn’t matter we still saw lots of sights and had fun. Yoko was very knowledgeable and even gave us great tips for the rest of our stay in Japan. She even sent me links to restaurants and links and directions to make sure I purchased the right train tickets. I would highly recommend her!!

Yoko:

Wow, thank you so much for writing such a sweet review on the way to Mount Fuji area!! It was raining cats and dogs but made the Kegon Falls and the Daiya River along the Kanmangafuchi Abyss much more dynamic. It was an amazing day for me to spend nearly the whole day with you and your wonderful family, Aaron, Molley and Faith, which made me feel just like ♪Singing in the Rain.♪ I wish you enjoy your stay at the Ryokan with Onsen, hot springs, and the rest of your stay. I will be dreaming of seeing you on your next visit some day.

“ The lesser visited Shrine and Temple ”

Saw a wedding. Yoko is very flexible on the itinerary. I liked the less crowded sites. Tea was very nice.

Yoko:

Thank you for your review, sir. I like Eishoji Temple, too, which is less crowded than Houkokuji Temple and also quite beautiful. You can relax and enjoy tranquility there. On some Sundays you can even have tea there, but we could see a Japanese wedding at Tsuruoka Hachimangu Shrine that Saturday. I hope you will come again and I can take you to Zen Temples. Please take care till then. Thank you again!!

“ Did and learned more with Yoko than I would have ever imagined ”

I had about a half a day extra in Tokyo and she made it a great and productive experience with lots of local insights.

Yoko:

I appreciate your great review so much. It was like a "bullet train" talk day. I will go to see "RBG" this week. I'm quite grateful you were so interested in Japanese culture and people. I had a great time talking with you, sir, and thank you so much for your generosity. I'll be looking forward to seeing you coming with your kids next time.

“ A wonderful day in Tokyo with Yoko ”

Yoko graciously stepped in at the last minute when our original guide fell ill - and we were very fortunate. She took us on an amazing whirlwind day to see all of the major locations and neighborhoods in Tokyo. From hitting the changing of the guard at the Imperial Palace, to an amazing Sanja festival at Asakusa Temple. We had an incredible sushi lunch at the Tsukiji Fish Market, and along the entire day Yoko taught us so many things about Japan, the culture, proper etiquette, the subways, money, and even helped us with the merchants. She moves fast - and covers a lot of ground - but she wants you to see and experience as much as possible. She also even came back to our hotel after the tour was over to leave us with maps and other information to help us on the rest of our trip. Highly reco... read more

Yoko:

I appreciate your excellent review so much, sir. I won't say all but we could see most of the major sightseeing spots, adding Ginza to the original itinerary. I had a great day myself, enjoy talking with both of you, sir and your beautiful wife Kelly. I was amazed that she had picked out a very beautiful kimono with an excellent taste. I hope she would check the "nadeshikokai" on the internet which gives kimono lesson in LA using genuine obi-sashes. Thank you so much for your generosity and everything. I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip and wish seeing you and Kelly again soon.

“ Good overall experience ”

Ours was a late booking (12 hours prior) with Yoko. The overall experience was good. Yoko is knowledgable and we would have struggled if we had been on our own.

Yoko:

Thank you for your review, Faiza and Basit. Sorry I couldn't satisfy your vegetarian needs at the Udon restaurant. Mount Fuji was a little bit shy, but I guess you could see quite well from the ship and the lakeside. It was a bit hazy that day, so please come again on a clear autumn or winter day. Best wishes, Yoko

“ Engaging, knowledgeable, and very nice! ”

I spent 7 hours with yoko and the entire experience was like a visual treat, plus a history lesson. Every place we went to, OR was around, she knew the history in detail which made what i was photographing that much more deep with meaning. It was my first time in tokyo and she held my hand the entire time and made sure i was happy. We had an absolute blast together. I highly recommend yoko to you if you need a guide! She is very quick also, so you must keep up! Haha! Being a professional photographer from NYC, i felt like she showed me so many things in the short time we were together. Just amazing, and super professional, with a nice sense of humor! When i return i will be hiring yoko again to show me more of japan!

Yoko:

Thank you so much writing a review so soon, Mr. Madden. It was a great pleasure for me. You appreciated almost every spot I took you so much so it was quite rewarding. Well, I was quite occupied with the time factor, so I walked faster than you so I didn't hold your hand but I usually walk much slower. I know you are young and would like to cover as much as you could within the short time, so I often ask you to make the signals where I usually relax and wait for the next one with other guests. So we could visit 1) Yanaka Ginza shopping street, 2) Nezu Shrine Festival with beautiful azaleas, 3) Shinobazu Pond of Ueno Park (with the view of Bentendo Temple and Tokyo Sky Tree), 4) Front Yard of the National Diet(Japanese Congress), 5) Sakuradamon Gate, 6) Imperial Palace Plaza with the ... read more

Yoko was great a communicating with me before my arrival and she was right on time to meet me at Keisei Ueno station. We only had about 4 and a half hours together and we did a whirlwind tour of the East Gardens and Asakusa Temple. Yoko was very knowledgeable and pleasant. “ Highly competent guide ”

It is obvious how well Yoko knows Tokyo when one spends a day with her. She guided us safely and efficiently through the transportation system, allowing us to see more than we thought possible in a day. She provided interesting information about the sites, and paid attention to our interests when choosing where to go. Yoko planned our time around mobility challenges my husband faces, and handled an emergency quickly and professionally, adapting our plans to accommodate. She went beyond what was required to be sure we enjoyed our time, and continued to be of assistance even after our tour was complete. I highly recommend Yoko.

Yoko:

I appreciate your excellent review so much, Sandra. It was a great pleasure meeting you even though I couldn't laugh to Mike's jokes as you could. It was very nice of your daughter and husband planned the trip to Japan as a birthday surprise and I'm very glad that I could help you enjoy the most beautiful season of Sakura. You're so cheerful that I enjoy being with you. I hope you could enjoy the rest of your trip. Thank you again, Yoko

“ Sakura tour of Tokyo with tea ”

We (a family of three with two teenagers) had a great sunny day with Yoko exploring Tokyo's treasures on our first trip to Japan. She met us at our hotel in Tsukiji and showed us the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace and then took us to Yanaka for a traditional macha tea ceremony and a lovely Japanese lunch and more. We learned all about the sakura and lots about the samurai, shogunate and Buddhism as well as about the imperial family and post-war reconstruction of Japan. Yoko is very knowledgeable and speaks good English with an American accent. She has strong opinions and is not afraid to express those.

Yoko:

Thank you for your review, but going to Kyoto without booking your hotel during April sounds extremely challenging. We know it will be difficult to go from Hakone to Mount Fuji is really hard unless you have vehicles. It's a fact. So it might be better to take your time at Hakone. Enjoy the rest of your stay.

“ Flowering Kamakura ”

Yoko is a great guide. Knowledgeable, accommodating and dryly humorous she was delightful to spend a day learning about Kamakura, Japanese history, Buddhism, shrines, temples and the local flowering trees. That sounds like overload, but she does a great job of pacing, both the information and of the flow of the day. She did a great job asking what I wished to see and picked a wonderful restaurant and even an afternoon tea.

Yoko:

Thank you so much, sir, for an excellent review. The weather was great, so it was a great pleasure for me to showing you around Kamakura, one of my favorites. I was amazed that you enjoyed the Japanese Mackerel lunch. It was such a lovely day and I enjoyed talking with you a lot. I wish you come again and see the World Heritage Nikko next time. “ Wonderful experience in Nikko ”

We had a great day trip from Tokyo to Nikko with Yoko. Yoko went above and beyond to ensure our group had an exceptional visit. Her attention to detail in terms of planning before the visit and care and advice in ensuring that we were prepared for the next stage of our trip was fantastic. Nikko itself is beautiful & well worth a visit. Yoko’s knowledge brought the historic sites to life for us. Yoko also made use of the train journey by teaching some of us how to make paper cranes! Thanks for a great trip. Maria, Robert, Lourda & David (Ireland)

Like many other travelers' review about Ms Yoko , is true, she is highly knowledgeable and energetic. Everything that she planned for our sightseeing trip was perfect. She had made every effort to cheer everyone in my group of 4, including my helper , who is a Myanmar. Yoko made an extra errand and effort to bring her to the land of fabric outlets. My helper bought for her mum and herself quite a bit of very reasonable priced silk . The fabrics are beautiful and of very high quality. “ Caring & knowledgeable local guide ”

Yoko was very timely, provided clear agenda for day and kept our family on time to ensure we achieved our tour objectives. She also gave us additional walking tours around neighborhoods after our tea ceremony experience, we enjoyed witnessing what locals do and best snacks to have on a busy walking tour day. Despite our family’s needs and questions for Yoko, she was very patient and tried her best to answer all our questions. In fact went above & beyond to provide follow up tips for our free day in Tokyo. Nothing beats local expertise and recommendations. Overall, we are very happy and thankful for Yoko’s guidance and care.

Yoko:

Thank you, Lynn, for such a great review. It was a great pleasure meeting you and your wonderful family. I had a great time talking with you and your family. Every one of you were so polite. I'm glad you liked Yanaka. It is a town still keeping the flavor of good ol' days of Tokyo. Yomogi mangu and "melon pan" were delicious, weren't they? About the question about the size of the tea bowls that Steven asked, it is larger because we whisk in the same bowls. I hope Steven could find something he could add to his collection of Tokoname-yaki. I wish I could also show you the awesome sculptures of Nikko, the World Heritage, some day. “ You need a guide in Tokyo and Yoko is great ”

The 1st thing to Understand is that Tokyo is huge and you really maximize your time by having a guide taking you to the places you want to see in the most efficient manner. 2nd - English is a very distant 2nd language - so if you can’t speak Japanese you will get frustrated without a guide. 3rd - Japan is very formal and generally speaking reserved. I found Yoko via a search and spent a considerable amount of time exchanging emails with her on how to organize her trip as we were arriving during the new year when many things were closed. Although there is a slight cultural barrier and she can be a bit rigid in her approach at times, her advice was very good and helpful. We changed hotels based on her recommendation for location and changed the order of our sightseeing due to holidays. ... read more

Yoko:

Thank you so much for writing such an excellent review during your flight, sir. English is not even a second language in Japan, it is a complete FOREIGN language for the majority of Japanese. The two languages have a completely different language structures and pronunciations are also quite different. Japanese have more vowels pronounced as you might notice if you would see some other guides' videos. You mention Japanese are reserved. Well, your daughter is also quite reserved , especially during shopping, so I had to make sure if she want it/them or not, which was cute. She was quite hesitant to ask you to buy them even when she wanted you to, so please tell her it's OK to ask you to buy things and kindly ask her more from now on. “ Highlights of Tokyo ”

We were interested in a cultural and historical overview of Tokyo and Yoko delivered the most delightful day-long private tour. We not only visited temples, shrines, gardens, historical districts and architecture, but Yoko explained the tradition and meaning behind everything we saw. This was primarily a walking tour, but Yoko helped us cover a great deal of territory using the subways. An exceptional highlight of our day was when Yoko brought us to a local, traditional family-run tea shop for an afternoon break where the owner afterward presented us with an artistic drawing of the antique tea bowls we had used and description of their historical significance. We would highly recommend Yoko to anyone wishing to see Tokyo.

Yoko:

Thank you so much for a great review, Linda. I enjoyed those one day and a half with you, a lovely couple. We covered the Kabukiza Theater, Asakusa with Nakamuraza Theater, Ueno Park, East Gardens, Meiji Jingu Shrine, Shibuya Crossing and that Antique Gallery where you enjoyed the tea ceremony. It started to be rainy in the afternoon, but because I was with you and that lovely family hosts, it was quite heart-warming. As it the beginning of the year, I wish you and Ron's health and seeing you again soon to see more sights together. Thank you again for your review.

“ Two Day Tokyo Tour ”

Yoko is very knowledgeable and flexible in her schedule. We were a group of four and she was able to keep the tour interesting. One of the highlights was the tea ceremony, which none of us had experienced before. The night tour of the Rainbow Bridge was also a wonderful sight to see. Riding the metro train during the busiest time of the day was an interesting experience. With Yoko's help, we were able to find the restaurant that was recommended to us by a friend, Umenohana. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious dinner! We just returned a couple of days ago from our cruise to the Far East and Tokyo has been one of our most memorable, thanks to Yoko.

Yoko:

Thank you so much, Stan, for writing a review even you just returned from the tour. I'm glad you enjoyed the tea ceremony even if it was your first time. I also had a lot of fun having picnic under the Sakura of the East Gardens with the box lunches we bought at a department store. Please say hi to Bea, your beautiful wife and Paul and June. “ Nikko and Kamakura ”

Yoko was very helpful and informative throughout. She was detailed in how to get tickets ahead of time and where to meet for going to Nikko, she picked an excellent lunchspot and tailored the trip to exactly what I was interested in. She had the timing down perfectly to realistically say what could be seen and then keep us on schedule. In Kamakura she also tailored the trip well and organized the schedule around buses so everything ran smoothly. She even went above and beyond when back in Tokyo, taking me to the Samurai Museum before parting ways. She knows her stuff and is good company. I would recommend her as a guide to anyone.

Yoko:

Thank you so much for a great review, sir. I'm quite grateful to you that we could see so much beautiful spots in a couple of days. I appreciate all the conversations I had with you that it was so much fun for me. “ Kamakura 1 Day Trip ”

My friend and I wanted to do some sightseeing outside of Tokyo during the last couple of days of our trip. After consulting with Yoko, we selected a day trip to Kamakura as Nikko would be too busy during the Kouyo (leaf changing) season. Neither of us had visited Kamakura before, so we were hoping to see some places that we couldn’t see by researching the city online prior to our visit. Yoko-san did not disappoint in this area. She was very knowledgeable about the area and the shrines we visited. She also was very prompt with her communication. “ Great day with Yoko ”

We spent a day with Yoko who took us to see the highlights of Tokyo we did not have in the tour we had booked. Yoko navigated the subways system which we would of had difficulty with on our own the first time. Yoko took us to see the Imperial Palace, the Ginza area, Tokyo station and Tokyo Skytree. I wish you would enjoy exploring collector items at Akihabara and the rest of your stay in Japan. Please say hi to Gassia for me and show the pictures to your Mom, too. ^_^

“ Above and beyond!! ”

Hire Yoko! You can't go wrong! Since it was our first time in Japan, I thought it would be helpful to have a guide show us around so we wouldn't waste time trying to figure out the subway, etc...Yoko wrote to me beforehand and wanted to know who was touring and what we wanted to see. I told her we were staying on the East side of town and wanted to see as much as possible on the East side. We narrowed it down to 6 sites and I wanted her help exchanging our JR vouchers for rail passes. She went to our hotel beforehand and wrote to me telling me the lobby was on the 24th floor and we would meet at a couch by the elevator. She also asked if it was ok if she picked up 24 hour metro passes for the day so it would be easier (and cheaper) to get around. I said yes. We met her with the passes and... read more

Yoko:

Thank you so much, Lisa, for such a detailed review!! It was a great pleasure for me guiding such a wonderful family like yours. All of you were so nice that I miss all of you so much. Ken was so intelligent that I was amazed of his reading The Shogun and the biography of Showa Emperor, making all the conversations much more fun. I appreciate you giving me all the information before I was going to ask you and your detailed requests made it much easier for me to make the itinerary. I'm grateful to know that you enjoyed the whole trip. I was also glad to hear from Jackie that she enjoyed the Sumida Fireworks on her own. I wish you would visit the Sato Sakura Gallery New York branch and see you soon during the sakura seasons from February to May in the near future!!

“ Amazing personalized service from a friendly and completely fluent English speaking guide! ”

There basically aren’t words that I could use to describe how incredibly happy we were that we booked Yoko! We had three days in Mt. Fuji and needed to book a guide super last minute (like within 12 hours). Yoko was incredibly prompt responding and the communication was super easy. She took the train all the way in from Tokyo to meet us and had the whole day well organized and planned out. First off, Yoko (having lived in the US as a child) is completely fluent in English which was really nice for us since we don’t speak Japanese. She was able to give us the history of the area, context, and knew all the right spots to hit up. We had a blast! During the tour, we mentioned to Yoko that we were trying to track down some “long lost” relatives in Japan (only using my great-aunt’s journals fro... read more

Yoko:

Thank you so much, Allison, for such a great review even though you're still on the road travelling Japan. I was so glad that you enjoyed the tour visiting Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center, Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba and Kawaguchiko Music Forest. Both of you, Allison and your elegant mother Sherrie, were so nice to me that it was a piece of cake making the whole day so sweet. I was interested in listening the stories how the Nikkei, Japanese Americans' family made it in Seattle/Bellevue. It was quite exciting trying to find your "long-lost " far relatives just like "A Girl with a Dragon Tattoo" or Alex Hailey's "Roots" but the Internet made it quite easy that I just needed to google the less common family name that the sister of Sadao-san, who guided your Great-Aunts in the 70s and the... read more

“ Awesome, dedicated, conscientious, polite, helpful... virtues of a wonderful guide ”

My family and I found Yoko on TripleLights and the first thing that attracted us to her was that she said she had lived in the USA from age 3-9. I knew that it would be easy to communicate with her and for our kids to understand her explanations of the places we were planning to visit. I gave Yoko places that I had wanted to visit ahead of time and she balanced out both days with culturally stimulating activities to both entertain the kids and also to let our family learn more about Japanese history, culture and foods. She was so caring, and when my daughters were tired because of jet lag, she fitted in time to go get breaks for snacks and to go into air conditioned areas to cool down from the summer heat. She took so many pictures of our family... it was awesome for us to have all 4 ... read more

Yoko:

I appreciate your superb detailed review so much, Songsiri. I'm quite flattered. I was glad that Camilla changed from a quiet "Gudetama" to a talkative active girl on the second day. It was a great pleasure for me meeting such a wonderful lady like you, Songsiri, with such a humble, polite, and amicable personality and your kind husband John and lovely daughters, Olivia and Camilla. Please come to Tokyo again soon. I will love to show you Kamakura and/or the World Heritage Nikko. Please have a lot of fun in Osaka and Okinawa. Thank you again for everything making the couple of days awesome!!

“ Great time in Tokyo and Custom Nikko Tour ”

I had a fantastic time with Yoko! On Day 1 I joined her for a tour of the Imperial Gardens. She was prompt and even found a vegan ramen restaurant to take me to so I could enjoy ramen as a vegetarian. Her knowledge of the city and the sites was impressive, and at the end of the day, on my request, she found a beautiful fan shop to take me to for souvenir shopping. The second day was a spectacular, custom tour or Nikko. Yoko listened to what I wanted to do and arranged an itinerary to suit my needs, including a local vegetarian lunch she had arranged in advance. She took care of everything so I could just enjoy the sites. As a first-time visitor to Japan I was a little intimidated by all the details I needed to take care of for a day trip to Nikko, and Yoko made it effortless. She even t... read more

I appreciate your great review, Maggie-san, before your flight. It was exactly as my "omikuji," fortune telling paper said: "It would be a fun trip." I was lucky to have an amazing guest like you, who could walk quick and intetesting to talk with that we could cover so much, especially at Nikko, we could see the Kegon Falls, Toshogu Shrine, Jyogyodou of Rinonji Temple, Kanmanbuchi and have a Yuba lunch, Onsen, and a quick visit to Kanaya Hotel. I had a great time with you, so I'll be looking forward to seeing you soon in the future. Thank you again for the wonderful days!!

“ Great couple days with Yoko in Tokyo ”

Yoko is an amazing guide, punctual, thorough, and energetic. She spoke English fluently and was very knowledgeable with every site we visited. We loved how she made sure that we are cognizant of local customs. She even managed to find this specialty store we needed to visit and we would have never have found it without her assistance. She tailored her suggested places to visit according to our interests and ensured that we had a good grasp of the public transportation system. We highly recommend her.

Yoko:

Thank you, sir, for such a prompt wonderful review. It was awesome that the weather turned out to be so fine even though the forecast three days ago weren't so well. I had a lot of fun with the amazing Menas so much. I hope the dougi will fit well with your Karate kids, Andrew and Alex. I wish you will enjoy tomorrow with that map and I will be looking forward to seeing all of you soon. Thank you again for everything.

Yoko:

Thank you, sir, for the review. It was such a lovely day seeing a wedding ceremony held at the stage of Tsuruoka Hachimangu Shrine and meeting two wonderful couples from Australia.^_^ It was so heartwarming talking with all of you. “ Ashikaga Flower Park ”

Yoko was so helpful with train transfers to/from Ashikaga Flower Park given my mother uses a wheelchair. Flower park was absolutely beautiful even with an overcast sky.

Yoko:

Thank you so much, Lisa, for writing a review and giving me the opportunity of letting me meet your wonderful parents. It was such a delight for me to talk with all of you so keen on learning more about the Japanese culture and willing to have very Japanese dishes, including Hijiki, black seaweeds, and Aosa, seaweeds. I wish I could show your mom quiter cherry blossom spots, which not many people know, next year or while she is still eager to travel. The peak season of late March till early April is quite hectic and the hotel rates also goes up, but I know many places that starts blooming since the end of January, as I wrote in my blog. I'll be dreaming of meeting all of you soon, even if I understand it might be quite hard for you to prepare everything. Thank you again, Yoko

“ Short visit to Tokyo ”

Yoko was very helpful and flexible in accommodating our needs. Did not feel rushed. Our children really enjoyed the trip

Yoko:

Thank you, ma'am, for your review. You must've been tired with urgent business coming in even though it was your vacation. You were quite lucky to see three wedding couples at Meiji Jingu Shrine. I was quite amazed with your extraordinary smart son, Ruvindu. After I came to know his abudant knowledge on trains, I went a little bit too far in insisting visiting the Maglev Exhibition Center, but I hope you saw it as an excellent facility with cutting edge technology and stimulating his interest in science more. I was extremely glad when he politely expressed his gratitude toward me after our visit there. I believe in his future that he has the potential of winning a nobel prize or the Fields Medal. “ Lovely company to sight see the city ”

I had engaged Yoko San to show me around Tokyo for a day. Shee was very punctual and very cordial. Her English is excellent nd she knows the city very well she accomodated all my requests and interests and manned the day very well.o doubt if I could have managed evengalf if what we saw, if I had ventured on my own. Thank you Yoko San .

Yoko:

Thank you, Rajini San for your review. I enjoyed the day so much 'cause I could see your beautiful smile over and over again as your T-shirt message "Smile is the Best makeup." Sorry about making you walk so much because that "off the beaten" sakura spot doesn't have a closer station but the one that we used and at some Metro station had some distance when we transfered, but we did see a lot of spots in a day. I'm really looking forward to seeing you and your daughter in your future vacation. Thank you again, Rajini San.

Very informative, trying to fit in a lot of sightseeing into the time available. Good English. Enjoyed her company!

Yoko:

Thank you for your review, Janet. I enjoyed strolling at the East Gardens, talking about a lot of flowers with you,a member of Gardening club, and seeing the beautiful kimonos together. I was quite impressed how Walter was quite keen to take pictures of the fish at the Market. I hope you would enjoy the rest of your cruise. Oh, and please don't forget to use the PASMO!! “ First time in Japan ”

As we embarked on our first journey to Japan, and Tokyo being our first stop, we are very happy to have met Ms. Yoko and have her as our guide. Yoko was very thorough, as she went through every destinations on our list to gauge the required time for each place. On our tour day, she brought a blanket for us to use, in case we wanted to have a picnic lunch. Yoko's English is very fluent, and her knowledge of cultural, geography, and history facts of Japan made us enjoy and appreciate Japan even more! Thank you Yoko, for a wonderful day in Tokyo, as it was a fantastic start to our wonderful 2 weeks in Japan.

Yoko:

Thank you so much, Tara, for writing a wonderful review for me. It was such a lovely day seeing so many sakuras, peach flowers, Rhododendrons, etc. with such a lovely couple like you. I still remember your husband saying, "Honey, let's take a picture here!" over and over again, which made me happy, too. I felt encouraged a lot when I found Japan had a lot in common with your mother country. It was amazing to find people who won't eat raw fish could spend hours at Tsukiji Market. I brought the camping mat so we could have a longer break at the beautiful garden myself. It was so beautiful that day, wasn't it? Thank you again, Tara, because I was quite glad meeting wonderful people like you. I wish I could see you soon and show other beautiful places. Till then, please take care.

“ Knowledgeable and Fun Trip to Nikko ”

I went with Yoko from Tokyo to Nikko for a day trip in April '18. She was very knowledgeable about the area ~and~ very knowledgeable about how to get there from various places in Tokyo. So she could help me not only with the visit to Nikko, but also with how get there and back. This was great because I'd never been to Nikko before. While we were there, she was very active and fun to be around. We saw a variety of places that I wanted to see and she was able to share information about the places very well. Her English is excellent. She was also kind enough to quiz me on hiragana as we walked around :). I'd gladly set up a trip with her again. A note about the temples in Nikko.. they liked stairs... they liked stairs a lot. Make sure you're in shape when you get there. I was worn out... read more

I was lucky to have such a wonderful Japanese fan like you as my guest. I enjoyed the conversations so much and loved explaining all the things. I was amazed and appreciated your interest in Japan. The Nikko people didn't want their places be destroyed like they destroyed the shrine of the samurai of Osaka Castle, so they built them on hills, which forced you to struggle with stairs. You could've skipped the mausoleum of the first Shogun of the Edo period, but wasn't it worth the experience, making you feel he was higher than ordinary people?:-) I love to show you to other interesting places, where you can t... read more

“ TOCHIGI ADVENTURE in NIKKO AND ASHIKAGA ”

Yoko is the kind of guide you want to be with. She is very organized from the very beginning. She will communicate with you from the time you book your tour up to the day of the tour and she would communicate with you after the tour. You will find a friend in her. She is very open minded and she will orient and educate you with Japanese culture. My family learned a lot from her. She would try to accommodate all of your request regarding your tour and she is honest enough to let you know if it doesn’t work. She will also give you options to accommodate everyone’s likes. She is very prompt. She Is willing to experience new things. She is fluent in English. Thank you Yoko! My family had a good time with you. It was a wonderful tour. You did an awesome job! Keep it up.

Yoko:

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review, Celestine. I appreciate your taking time for that. I was lucky that you chose me 'cause it was wonderful meeting you and your family. I loved to see you how great you was as a mother, daughtet, wife and a person. You and your sister Lizanne are so beautiful, but I was amazed how intelligent both of you were while talking with you. I was happy that Ronaldo and Raphel was so great brothers and the basketball player loved to challenge the Japanese things, choosing tatami zashi instead of the table seats. “ Highlight of our Tokyo Trip ”

My mom and I booked a tour with Yoko to see Cheurito Pagoda and the surrounding areas by the lake. She met us at the lobby of our hotel and guided us the entire way. She even brought origami paper and taught us to make cranes on the bus ride there. She thought of everything! It was stress free and she was lovely to spend the day with. Yoko suggested the combo tram and boat ride which were both amazing. She also picked an amazing place for lunch. By far the best day we had in Japan. I highly recommend her for the experience and the company!

Yoko:

Wow, Michelle!! Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review during your flight. Even if the former guests were also amazing and I enjoyed talking with, I felt my body was a little tired after long days while I was going to your hotel, but after I met you and your mom, Shari, it was so much fun that I enjoyed all of the conversations with both of you. You were so friendly and enjoyed the "Gorgeous!!" Sakura, the view of Mt. Fuji and SAKE so much which made me quite happy. All the activities were so relaxing that I felt quite refreshed. “ Very Thorough and Caring Guide ”

From the very beginning after I booked Yoko, she began to email me ideas and itineraries to consider. She also mentioned she was doing dry runs through the areas we wanted to see so she could figure out timing for us. I was impressed at her dedication. Once we arrived in Tokyo, she had subway maps and restaurant pamphlets for us to keep us organized. She spent extra time with us to make sure we got around safely. She suggested places to visit that our sons would enjoy, and because of this we actually got one of our best photo opportunities of the trip when she took us to a cafe that printed our images on our lattes! She emailed pictures after the tour. She speaks great English and is easy to understand. You can tell she really cares for her job and her clients. My one piece of criticism wo... read more
