She met us on time at our hotel. She was helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We got to see everything in Nikko that we wanted to see, and then some. She had very good management. I highly recommend her as a guide for Nikko, or anywhere else.
Thank you so much for writing a prompt review, Randy. I'm happy you choose me as your Nikko guide during your 4th visit to Japan. We could see the beautiful Kegon Falls, Mount Nantai and Lake Chuzenji. In the World Heritage area, we could visit Shinkyo Bridge, Rinnoji Sanbutsudo, Toshogu Shrine, Futarasan Jinja Shrine, Taiyuin Mausoleum, and one of my favorites, Kanaya Samurai House, the first Cottage Inn for welcoming westerners in Japan. It was quite interesting finding out you know so much of Japan even before I explain to you. I hope you and Scott will enjoy your rest of the stay in Japan. I wish you luck with your studying Nihongo and I wish I can see you soon again. ランディーさん、スコットさん、どうもありがとうございました。また会いましょう!! read more
We had a great day trip from Tokyo to Nikko with Yoko. Yoko went above and beyond to ensure our group had an exceptional visit. Her attention to detail in terms of planning before the visit and care and advice in ensuring that we were prepared for the next stage of our trip was fantastic. Nikko itself is beautiful & well worth a visit. Yoko’s knowledge brought the historic sites to life for us. Yoko also made use of the train journey by teaching some of us how to make paper cranes! Thanks for a great trip. Maria, Robert, Lourda & David (Ireland)
Thank you so much for a wonderful review, Maria. I really enjoyed that Nikko visit myself having the privilege of meeting such amazing people like all of you, Maria, Robert, Lourda and David. It remains as a sweet memorable day. Please come to Japan again and see the other beautiful seasons, too. Thank you again for everything.
Like many other travelers' review about Ms Yoko , is true, she is highly knowledgeable and energetic. Everything that she planned for our sightseeing trip was perfect. She had made every effort to cheer everyone in my group of 4, including my helper , who is a Myanmar. Yoko made an extra errand and effort to bring her to the land of fabric outlets. My helper bought for her mum and herself quite a bit of very reasonable priced silk . The fabrics are beautiful and of very high quality. (Oh Yoko, you have missed watching that "Overjoyed and Grateful " smile of hers ) On our way back to Singapore , I asked my 2 kids " What do you missed most about Tokyo? "....Both exclaimed almost at once ..." YOKO " !. See....She is that charming with such great personality ! We were impres... read more

Yoko was very timely, provided clear agenda for day and kept our family on time to ensure we achieved our tour objectives. She also gave us additional walking tours around neighborhoods after our tea ceremony experience, we enjoyed witnessing what locals do and best snacks to have on a busy walking tour day. Despite our family’s needs and questions for Yoko, she was very patient and tried her best to answer all our questions. In fact went above & beyond to provide follow up tips for our free day in Tokyo. Nothing beats local expertise and recommendations. Overall, we are very happy and thankful for Yoko’s guidance and care.
Thank you, Lynn, for such a great review. It was a great pleasure meeting you and your wonderful family. I had a great time talking with you and your family. Every one of you were so polite. I'm glad you liked Yanaka. It is a town still keeping the flavor of good ol' days of Tokyo. Yomogi mangu and "melon pan" were delicious, weren't they? About the question about the size of the tea bowls that Steven asked, it is larger because we whisk in the same bowls. I hope Steven could find something he could add to his collection of Tokoname-yaki. I wish I could also show you the awesome sculptures of Nikko, the World Heritage, some day. I'll be looking forward to seeing you soon.
The 1st thing to Understand is that Tokyo is huge and you really maximize your time by having a guide taking you to the places you want to see in the most efficient manner. 2nd - English is a very distant 2nd language - so if you can’t speak Japanese you will get frustrated without a guide. 3rd - Japan is very formal and generally speaking reserved. I found Yoko via a search and spent a considerable amount of time exchanging emails with her on how to organize her trip as we were arriving during the new year when many things were closed. Although there is a slight cultural barrier and she can be a bit rigid in her approach at times, her advice was very good and helpful. We changed hotels based on her recommendation for location and changed the order of our sightseeing due to holidays. ... read more
Thank you so much for writing such an excellent review during your flight, sir. English is not even a second language in Japan, it is a complete FOREIGN language for the majority of Japanese. The two languages have a completely different language structures and pronunciations are also quite different. Japanese have more vowels pronounced as you might notice if you would see some other guides' videos. You mention Japanese are reserved. Well, your daughter is also quite reserved , especially during shopping, so I had to make sure if she want it/them or not, which was cute. She was quite hesitant to ask you to buy them even when she wanted you to, so please tell her it's OK to ask you to buy things and kindly ask her more from now on. Sorry I asked a lot of questions before and during... read more
We were interested in a cultural and historical overview of Tokyo and Yoko delivered the most delightful day-long private tour. We not only visited temples, shrines, gardens, historical districts and architecture, but Yoko explained the tradition and meaning behind everything we saw. This was primarily a walking tour, but Yoko helped us cover a great deal of territory using the subways. An exceptional highlight of our day was when Yoko brought us to a local, traditional family-run tea shop for an afternoon break where the owner afterward presented us with an artistic drawing of the antique tea bowls we had used and description of their historical significance. We would highly recommend Yoko to anyone wishing to see Tokyo.
Thank you so much for a great review, Linda. I enjoyed those one day and a half with you, a lovely couple. We covered the Kabukiza Theater, Asakusa with Nakamuraza Theater, Ueno Park, East Gardens, Meiji Jingu Shrine, Shibuya Crossing and that Antique Gallery where you enjoyed the tea ceremony. It started to be rainy in the afternoon, but because I was with you and that lovely family hosts, it was quite heart-warming. As it the beginning of the year, I wish you and Ron's health and seeing you again soon to see more sights together. Thank you again for your review.
Yoko is very knowledgeable and flexible in her schedule. We were a group of four and she was able to keep the tour interesting. One of the highlights was the tea ceremony, which none of us had experienced before. The night tour of the Rainbow Bridge was also a wonderful sight to see. Riding the metro train during the busiest time of the day was an interesting experience. With Yoko's help, we were able to find the restaurant that was recommended to us by a friend, Umenohana. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious dinner! We just returned a couple of days ago from our cruise to the Far East and Tokyo has been one of our most memorable, thanks to Yoko.
Thank you so much, Stan, for writing a review even you just returned from the tour. I'm glad you enjoyed the tea ceremony even if it was your first time. I also had a lot of fun having picnic under the Sakura of the East Gardens with the box lunches we bought at a department store. Please say hi to Bea, your beautiful wife and Paul and June. All of you were so nice so I miss you so much. I will be looking forward to seeing you in the near future. Thank you again for everything, Stan.
Yoko was very helpful and informative throughout. She was detailed in how to get tickets ahead of time and where to meet for going to Nikko, she picked an excellent lunchspot and tailored the trip to exactly what I was interested in. She had the timing down perfectly to realistically say what could be seen and then keep us on schedule. In Kamakura she also tailored the trip well and organized the schedule around buses so everything ran smoothly. She even went above and beyond when back in Tokyo, taking me to the Samurai Museum before parting ways. She knows her stuff and is good company. I would recommend her as a guide to anyone.
Thank you so much for a great review, sir. I'm quite grateful to you that we could see so much beautiful spots in a couple of days. I appreciate all the conversations I had with you that it was so much fun for me. If you have your family with you on your next business trip to Tokyo, I would love to show them around while you might be working. Thank you again for everything.
My friend and I wanted to do some sightseeing outside of Tokyo during the last couple of days of our trip. After consulting with Yoko, we selected a day trip to Kamakura as Nikko would be too busy during the Kouyo (leaf changing) season. Neither of us had visited Kamakura before, so we were hoping to see some places that we couldn’t see by researching the city online prior to our visit. Yoko-san did not disappoint in this area. She was very knowledgeable about the area and the shrines we visited. She also was very prompt with her communication. She catered the trip towards my friend’s difficulty with stairs, and in addition to visiting the famous Buddha statue there, we also saw a very quiet bamboo forest that put the one in Arashiyama to shame. She took pictures of my friend and I... read more
I appreciate your detailed review, Amanda. I love the way you were so eager not to miss anything you can, and going up extra stairs didn't hold you back even after we walked a lot. I'm surprised, however, that you and Tara got the wrong impression on some points. About the omamori, because among young people it is quite popular to get those charms, and your young friend seemed to get all the things she would like to, I just thought she didn't notice the one. I never ever asked if "she didn’t want to find someone." I'm enjoying single life myself.:-) About the diet, I'm afraid of your getting diabetes, an incurable disease that my dad suffers for such a long time. He even had eye surgeries twice, caused by the complications. About how to wear kimono, if you search on the internet,... read more
Yoko demonstrated professionalism not only in English language and presentation of the subject of excursion but also in different aspects of religions and culture of Japanese people for better understanding of the country.
Thank you so much for a prompt review, Mr. Mostakov. I was so amazed that both you and your lovely wife had visited Japan so many times and quite familiar with Japanese cuisine. I'm glad that I could contribute to your better understanding of Japanese culture. As we visited the shrines for peace, may peace prevail on earth. Please enjoy the rest of your stay. Please give my regards to your beautiful wife, Mrs. Mostakov. I'll be looking forward to seeing you on your next visit to Japan and wish we could see Nihon Minkaen, folkhouse museum with houses from the Samurai period together next time.
Yoko was a very nice guide and was very knowledgeable about Tokyo. We had an awesome time exploring Japan, and would definately recommend Yoko to show you around. She was very accommodating to what we wanted to see, and wanted to make sure we made the most of our day. I would book her again for my next trip to Japan.
I appreciate your review, Sarah. I had a wonderful day meeting you and your wonderful parents, Barbara and Robert. The weather was also nice to stroll through the East Gardens and I had a great time myself sharing the time seeing the beautiful sculptures and traditional Washi (Japanese paper) store together and talking about the Nikkei society with you. I will be looking forward to seeing you and your lovely parents in the future. Thank you again!!
Spent 1.5 superb days with Yoko getting to know Tokyo. Yoko demonstrated incredible service way before I arrived in Tokyo. She provided a lot of useful information on arriving, hotels and planning my trip beyond Tokyo. Upon arrival in Tokyo, Yoko met me promptly at the hotel and took me on the whirlwind tour of Tokyo with a detailed tour the next day. Yoko is very passionate about Tokyo and this comes across in the information and instructions she provides on navigating the city. I saw a great deal - highlights being the fish market and the different shrines. It was incredible. I couldn't have hoped for a better introduction to Japan. The only comments I have that prevents me from rating Yoko a 100% is that at times in being do passionate about is doing guidance I sometimes felt a sch... read more
Thank you so much, Derin, for your review. So many customs are really different. I'm sorry I repeatedly told you about the escalator rules, keeping to the left in Tokyo, which is the opposite with those of London. We won't touch food we're not going to buy, so I was extremely shocked when you touched a Nikkuman at the Market to check if it was soft or not, so I had to tell you about those rules. I saw that you were waiting for people to get off at the station but I said that just to make sure, but I understood that was too much for you. I hope you would enjoy the other parts of Japan and please tell me about your journey when I see you in two weeks. Have a lot of fun!!
I had a wonderful first full day because Yoko made everything less daunting. I highly recommend her as a private guide as she is fluent in English and knows how to balance visits to culturally enriching sites as well as commercial areas. I would advise everyone to be ready to walk a lot if you want to make the most of this tour.
Thank you, Mr. Shaikh, for such a prompt great review. You're the first guest who had the Geisha experience and Samurai Museum on the same day with visits to Meiji Jingu Shrine, Edo-Tokyo Museum, Nihonbashi, Shiodome and Ginza. Tokyo sightseeing requires a lot of walk, so congratulations on surviving the day.:-) I'm always amazed even they usually won't walk so much, the Americans can do it. I hope you'll enjoy the rest of your stay in Tokyo!!
We spent a day with Yoko who took us to see the highlights of Tokyo we did not have in the tour we had booked. Yoko navigated the subways system which we would of had difficulty with on our own the first time. Yoko took us to see the Imperial Palace, the Ginza area, Tokyo station and Tokyo Skytree. We visited the Nissen crossing and seen some beautiful cars of the future. Yoko was very informative and it was a great first day for us in Tokyo. I highly recommend Yoko she speaks clear English with an American accent and very knowledgeable. Yoko was also punctual and at out hotel foyer at the agreed meeting time and she took us back to our hotel at the end of the day.
I appreciate your great review so much, Raylene. I was lucky that I could show you some of the older part of Tokyo, too, because I can exclude the main highlights covered in your long bus tour the next day. I'm happy to hear it was a great first day for you in Japan. I hope you would keep some of the pictures of you and John I took at many places in Tokyo. It was a great pleasure for me to see such a lovely couple like you. Thank you again, Raylene!
Yoko gave us a great tour of Mt Fuji and provided us with some great knowledge.
Thank you for your review. It was a great pleasure for me to meet such world travelers and amazing English gentlemen. I wish you could come again soon and shoot the beautiful Mt. Fuji and enjoy Yoshida Udon, which we couldn't try because of the traffic jam of the Obon vacation. Good luck with the editing!! I'll be looking forward to your works.
Myself and my sister were quite nervous coming to Japan, but Yoko was very helpful and showed us around the Tokyo area. We explored temples, shrines, the Metropolitan area, Tsukiji, and the intricate subways! I was confused on how to use the subway system, but she was very patient and helped us understand what we needed to look for. I would highly recommend planning a trip with Yoko, she is very knowledgeable and taught us about the many customs Japan has. Thank you again Yoko!
IIt was my great pleasure, Shahe. I appreciate your prompt review. I had a lot of fun myself showing you and your beautiful sister, Gassia, around the major sights of Tokyo. I wish you would enjoy exploring collector items at Akihabara and the rest of your stay in Japan. Please say hi to Gassia for me and show the pictures to your Mom, too. ^_^
Hire Yoko! You can't go wrong! Since it was our first time in Japan, I thought it would be helpful to have a guide show us around so we wouldn't waste time trying to figure out the subway, etc...Yoko wrote to me beforehand and wanted to know who was touring and what we wanted to see. I told her we were staying on the East side of town and wanted to see as much as possible on the East side. We narrowed it down to 6 sites and I wanted her help exchanging our JR vouchers for rail passes. She went to our hotel beforehand and wrote to me telling me the lobby was on the 24th floor and we would meet at a couch by the elevator. She also asked if it was ok if she picked up 24 hour metro passes for the day so it would be easier (and cheaper) to get around. I said yes. We met her with the passes and... read more
Thank you so much, Lisa, for such a detailed review!! It was a great pleasure for me guiding such a wonderful family like yours. All of you were so nice that I miss all of you so much. Ken was so intelligent that I was amazed of his reading The Shogun and the biography of Showa Emperor, making all the conversations much more fun. I appreciate you giving me all the information before I was going to ask you and your detailed requests made it much easier for me to make the itinerary. I'm grateful to know that you enjoyed the whole trip. I was also glad to hear from Jackie that she enjoyed the Sumida Fireworks on her own. I wish you would visit the Sato Sakura Gallery New York branch and see you soon during the sakura seasons from February to May in the near future!!
Ms Yoko is very professional, my family and I had an amazing day with her the and the way she explained in detail all the locations
I appreciate your review so much, Olga. I had such a good time with you and your lovely daughters and your nephew, even though the heatwave was quite tough. I hope I can see all of you and Kevin with your sister soon!!
There basically aren’t words that I could use to describe how incredibly happy we were that we booked Yoko! We had three days in Mt. Fuji and needed to book a guide super last minute (like within 12 hours). Yoko was incredibly prompt responding and the communication was super easy. She took the train all the way in from Tokyo to meet us and had the whole day well organized and planned out. First off, Yoko (having lived in the US as a child) is completely fluent in English which was really nice for us since we don’t speak Japanese. She was able to give us the history of the area, context, and knew all the right spots to hit up. We had a blast! Thank you so much, Allison, for such a great review even though you're still on the road travelling Japan. I was so glad that you enjoyed the tour visiting Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center, Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba and Kawaguchiko Music Forest. Both of you, Allison and your elegant mother Sherrie, were so nice to me that it was a piece of cake making the whole day so sweet. I was interested in listening the stories how the Nikkei, Japanese Americans' family made it in Seattle/Bellevue. It was quite exciting trying to find your "long-lost " far relatives just like "A Girl with a Dragon Tattoo" or Alex Hailey's "Roots" but the Internet made it quite easy that I just needed to google the less common family name that the sister of Sadao-san, who guided your Great-Aunts in the 70s and the... read more

I knew that it would be easy to communicate with her and for our kids to understand her explanations of the places we were planning to visit. I gave Yoko places that I had wanted to visit ahead of time and she balanced out both days with culturally stimulating activities to both entertain the kids and also to let our family learn more about Japanese history, culture and foods. She was so caring, and when my daughters were tired because of jet lag, she fitted in time to go get breaks for snacks and to go into air conditioned areas to cool down from the summer heat. She took so many pictures of our family... it was awesome for us to have all 4 ... read more

Thank you again for everything making the couple of days awesome!!
I had a fantastic time with Yoko! On Day 1 I joined her for a tour of the Imperial Gardens. She was prompt and even found a vegan ramen restaurant to take me to so I could enjoy ramen as a vegetarian. Her knowledge of the city and the sites was impressive, and at the end of the day, on my request, she found a beautiful fan shop to take me to for souvenir shopping. The second day was a spectacular, custom tour or Nikko. Yoko listened to what I wanted to do and arranged an itinerary to suit my needs, including a local vegetarian lunch she had arranged in advance. She took care of everything so I could just enjoy the sites. As a first-time visitor to Japan I was a little intimidated by all the details I needed to take care of for a day trip to Nikko, and Yoko made it effortless. She even t... read more
I appreciate your great review, Maggie-san, before your flight. It was exactly as my "omikuji," fortune telling paper said: "It would be a fun trip." I had a great time with you, so I'll be looking forward to seeing you soon in the future. Thank you again for the wonderful days!!
Yoko is an amazing guide, punctual, thorough, and energetic. She spoke English fluently and was very knowledgeable with every site we visited. We loved how she made sure that we are cognizant of local customs. She even managed to find this specialty store we needed to visit and we would have never have found it without her assistance. She tailored her suggested places to visit according to our interests and ensured that we had a good grasp of the public transportation system. We highly recommend her.
Thank you, sir, for such a prompt wonderful review. It was awesome that the weather turned out to be so fine even though the forecast three days ago weren't so well. I had a lot of fun with the amazing Menas so much. I hope the dougi will fit well with your Karate kids, Andrew and Alex. I wish you will enjoy tomorrow with that map and I will be looking forward to seeing all of you soon. Thank you again for everything.
Yoko preplanned tour for us taking into consideration our ages (75+) and any diet problems in advance. We all enjoyed our tour of temples and shrines and were amazed with the size and age of the Big Buddha.Yoko spoke good english and had great background knowledge of the tour.
Thank you, sir, for the review. It was such a lovely day seeing a wedding ceremony held at the stage of Tsuruoka Hachimangu Shrine and meeting two wonderful couples from Australia.^_^ It was so heartwarming talking with all of you. I wish you would tell Wilma, Russell and Veronica that I miss all of you so much.
Yoko was so helpful with train transfers to/from Ashikaga Flower Park given my mother uses a wheelchair. Flower park was absolutely beautiful even with an overcast sky.
Thank you so much, Lisa, for writing a review and giving me the opportunity of letting me meet your wonderful parents. It was such a delight for me to talk with all of you so keen on learning more about the Japanese culture and willing to have very Japanese dishes, including Hijiki, black seaweeds, and Aosa, seaweeds. I wish I could show your mom quiter cherry blossom spots, which not many people know, next year or while she is still eager to travel. The peak season of late March till early April is quite hectic and the hotel rates also goes up, but I know many places that starts blooming since the end of January, as I wrote in my blog. I'll be dreaming of meeting all of you soon, even if I understand it might be quite hard for you to prepare everything. Thank you again, Yoko
Yoko was very helpful and flexible in accommodating our needs. Did not feel rushed. Our children really enjoyed the trip
Thank you, ma'am, for your review. You must've been tired with urgent business coming in even though it was your vacation. You were quite lucky to see three wedding couples at Meiji Jingu Shrine. I was quite amazed with your extraordinary smart son, Ruvindu. After I came to know his abudant knowledge on trains, I went a little bit too far in insisting visiting the Maglev Exhibition Center, but I hope you saw it as an excellent facility with cutting edge technology and stimulating his interest in science more. I was extremely glad when he politely expressed his gratitude toward me after our visit there. I believe in his future that he has the potential of winning a nobel prize or the Fields Medal. Thank you, Rajini San for your review. I enjoyed the day so much 'cause I could see your beautiful smile over and over again as your T-shirt message "Smile is the Best makeup." Sorry about making you walk so much because that "off the beaten" sakura spot doesn't have a closer station but the one that we used and at some Metro station had some distance when we transfered, but we did see a lot of spots in a day. I'm really looking forward to seeing you and your daughter in your future vacation. Thank you again, Rajini San.
Very informative, trying to fit in a lot of sightseeing into the time available. Good English. Enjoyed her company!
Thank you for your review, Janet. I enjoyed strolling at the East Gardens, talking about a lot of flowers with you,a member of Gardening club, and seeing the beautiful kimonos together. I was quite impressed how Walter was quite keen to take pictures of the fish at the Market. I hope you would enjoy the rest of your cruise. Oh, and please don't forget to use the PASMO!! You can use it nationwide in Japan.
As we embarked on our first journey to Japan, and Tokyo being our first stop, we are very happy to have met Ms. Yoko and have her as our guide. Yoko was very thorough, as she went through every destinations on our list to gauge the required time for each place. On our tour day, she brought a blanket for us to use, in case we wanted to have a picnic lunch. Yoko's English is very fluent, and her knowledge of cultural, geography, and history facts of Japan made us enjoy and appreciate Japan even more! Thank you Yoko, for a wonderful day in Tokyo, as it was a fantastic start to our wonderful 2 weeks in Japan.
Thank you so much, Tara, for writing a wonderful review for me. It was such a lovely day seeing so many sakuras, peach flowers, Rhododendrons, etc. with such a lovely couple like you. I still remember your husband saying, "Honey, let's take a picture here!" over and over again, which made me happy, too. I felt encouraged a lot when I found Japan had a lot in common with your mother country. It was amazing to find people who won't eat raw fish could spend hours at Tsukiji Market. I brought the camping mat so we could have a longer break at the beautiful garden myself. It was so beautiful that day, wasn't it? Thank you again, Tara, because I was quite glad meeting wonderful people like you. I wish I could see you soon and show other beautiful places. Till then, please take care.
I went with Yoko from Tokyo to Nikko for a day trip in April '18. She was very knowledgeable about the area ~and~ very knowledgeable about how to get there from various places in Tokyo. So she could help me not only with the visit to Nikko, but also with how get there and back. This was great because I'd never been to Nikko before. While we were there, she was very active and fun to be around. We saw a variety of places that I wanted to see and she was able to share information about the places very well. Her English is excellent. She was also kind enough to quiz me on hiragana as we walked around :). I'd gladly set up a trip with her again. The Nikko people didn't want their places be destroyed like they destroyed the shrine of the samurai of Osaka Castle, so they built them on hills, which forced you to struggle with stairs. Yoko was a very pleasant and helpful guide, who made the day very enjoyable. Navigating the metro, trains and busses is not very easy so it was great to have a good guide. Kamakura is well worth a visit with many temples & shrines it's busy but away from the hustle of Tokyo.
Thank you so much, Sheila, for the review. I hope your plane could take off without a delay. I had such a relaxing time myself, seeing you appreciating the Great Buddha and seeing you silently conversing with Kannon still makes me smile. I hope you can see Mt. Fuji more the next time you visit here.
