Hi. My name is Keiko Hatada. I'm a National Government Licenced Guide Interpreter. I was born in Tokyo and used to work as a junior high school teacher over 30 years here. So I know about Tokyo a lot. One of my hobbies is Japanese history. Finding similarities in the world history is also a lot of fun to me.
Tokyo is a very attractive city with two very interesting features, traditional city with 450- year -old Edo(former name of Tokyo) culture and a very leading edge city with a very robust modern culture. I'd be happy to share either or both of them with you. I'm happy to arrange a tour according to your desires and look forward to having good time with you.

Keiko met our group of 5 Americans on our first day in Tokyo. We had arrived the night before and it was our visit to Japan. She gave a great introduction to the transportation system, pointing out interesting aspects of Japanese culture as we toured Ginza and the Shiodome. One member of our group had asked to visit a particular gallery in Ginza. Keiko helped us find the gallery and assisted in the important interaction with the gallery owners. We had a very pleasant half day with Keiko.
Dear Susan, Thank you very much for your wonderful review of my tour. You spent most of the time at Ginza, a modern as well as traditional town. We spent most of the time there, so I think you were able to realize how interesting Ginza is. You visited Nissan crossing to see modern cars, Kimuraya bakery to eat anpan( bread with traditional Japanese bean paste), Mikimoto Pearl. During the tour, you saw a lot of very impressive architecture. You also enjoyed modern art at Galleries. After visiting a small shrine among modern buildings and traditional small shops along Konparu street , we arrived at Shiodome : very modern city with a lot of skyscrapers. I was very impressed that you had deep knowledge of modern art and I was able to learn a lot through the tour. Thank you very much. I ho... read more
Keiko is a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. My wife, son and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with her, and learned a great deal during our tour. She is a very kind person who was very attentive to our needs and interests and went out of her way to explain Japanese history and culture in a manner which enhanced our enjoyment. She also sought to tailor the tour to us and what we were looking to see and what we were interested in. We would definitely use Keiko again as our guide for any future trip and we will strongly recommend her to friends.
Dear Basil, Thank you very much for your wonderful review of my tour. I was lucky to have rare and interesting experiences with you during the tour. On the first day, we visited Tsukiji and tasted fresh tuna and fruity , big grapes. Then we went to Asakusa by cruise after Hamarikyu Garden. You tasted Japanese sweets, Ningyoyaki. It shaped like a five story pagoda . You had soba noodle lunch in Japanese manner, to slurp making sounds, too. I was surprised that you know about Japanese beer brand, Kirin , Sapporo...etc. You saw Sapporo building and Kirin( giraffe) at the shrine. On the next day, we visited Meiji shrine after Shibuya. It was a special day, emperor's enthronement ceremony was held. We were lucky enough to have special sake in a special masu cup. Then we visited Ginza and Ue... read more
Keiko was an absolute delight - we loved our half day tour with her! We went to the fish markets, Shinjuku and Azabu-Jyuban and then she showed us how to get the train to our next location. Keiko spoke excellent English and was able to answer all of our obscure questions. She told us just the right amount of history as we went around (sometimes guides go into too much depth, but she had it just right!). She was also great at pointing out interesting things that we would have otherwise missed. She is considerate, patient, good-humoured and extremely well organised. We can't recommend her highly enough!
Dear Nonie, Thank you very much for your wonderful review of me . It was my greatest pleasure to help all of you enjoy Japanese food and culture as much as possible. At Tsukiji, you tasted sweet sushi egg, sweet black beans, chicken, broth, grated bonito. At Azabu-jyuban, you had soba noodle lunch at a traditional soba noodle restaurant. You tasted rice crackers, beans, Japanese traditional sweets, too . You looked very happy sharing a great time together. I hope your stay in Japan will be fruitful and go back to your country with good memories. Thank you very very much for your warm kindness. Best Wishes, Keiko
Keiko is very knowledgeable about Japan and the history of the country and also about Tokyo. She took us to everything we asked and also suggested other places. We had a wonderful day and could not speak too highly of her.
Dear Linda, Thank you very much for your wonderful review of my tour. We were lucky enough to walk around southern part of Tokyo in a very comfortable weather. I was very happy to see all of you listening to my explanation with smile and interest. I'd like to show you other interesting places. So I am looking forward to seeing you again in the near future. Please say hello to your families. Best Wishes, Keiko
We were a tired and somewhat irritable group after 2 weeks of daily tours, and people changed the itinerary on her several times, wanting to do different things at different times. And Tokyo is difficult, navigating through throngs of people in subway stations and trying to stay together. Nevertheless, Keiko never lost her cool or composure, and swiftly switched from one plan to another easily. Her English is excellent, great guide skills, and interactions with people. Would definitely use her again
Dear Bob Thank you very much for your wonderful review of my tour. I am very glad to know that you are on board at last ! Talking about the tour, I was very worried about the itinerary because it was the last day of your two- weeks- tour . I wanted to avoid visiting the similar places as your last visiting places. So your members' suggestions were very helpful to me. We visited Tsukiji Fish Market → Hamarikyu Garden → Ginza. I was very happy to see that all the members enjoyed their precious time in their own ways such as taking pictures of beautiful flowers , walking around the peaceful garden , finding new vegetables at the market , experiencing the center of Ginza. I hope you will go back to your country with good memories and come back to Tokyo in the near future. I would be ha... read more
