Hi. My name is Keiko Hatada. I'm a National Government Licenced Guide Interpreter. I was born in Tokyo and used to work as a junior high school teacher over 30 years here. So I know about Tokyo a lot. One of my hobbies is Japanese history. Finding similarities in the world history is also a lot of fun to me.
Tokyo is a very attractive city with two very interesting features, traditional city with 450- year -old Edo(former name of Tokyo) culture and a very leading edge city with a very robust modern culture. I'd be happy to share either or both of them with you. I'm happy to arrange a tour according to your desires and look forward to having good time with you.

“ Excellent introduction to Tokyo and Japan ”

We just wanted to express our appreciation for the 8 hour guided tour of Tokyo that Keiko provided for us, a couple visiting Japan for the first time. Her communication before our trip was exemplary, and her teaching experience as well as knowledge of Japanese history and culture gave us an ideal first day of our ten day visit. It helped us to quickly understand practical matters such as the transportation system and gave us valuable local perspectives on society, religion and customs. In addition, we were able to see much more than we otherwise would have been able to. We are very much looking forward to our next visit.

Dear Bjorn I am very grateful for your wonderful review of my tour. I was very impressed by the fact that you tried to understand Japanese way of living or thinking through experiencing . It was my good opportunity for me to talk about it during the tour and reminded me of the difference and similarity between our cultures. I hope you will come back to Japan and find other faces of it. I am very much looking forward to seeing you again, too . Thank you very much for your kindness. Keiko

“ An amazing day with Keiko! ”

We came to Tokyo just before New Years and didn't have a lot of time, so we booked our day with Keiko. She reached out ahead of our arrival to confirm to discuss our preferences. Keiko is very professional and prepared to make the most of your time in Tokyo. Her English is very good and being a former teacher you can tell how much she enjoys teaching. She taught us about the Japanese New Year traditions, how to use the public train systems and the local landmarks we asked to see. We spent a complete full day with her and it was the best thing we could have done. I wish our stay in Tokyo was longer so we could have seen more. We will definitely book Keikl again when returning to Tokyo. It was an amazing day. Tim & Michelle Smith Brentwood, California

Dear Tim Thank you very much for a wonderful review of my tour. You came to Tokyo just before the New Years , so every place you visited were beautifully decorated especially for New Years with pine trees and bamboo branches and people were busy preparing for it. At Tsukiji Fish Market, they sold special food for it like auspicious colored fish cakes, herring roe, cooked marrons ...etc. A lot of Japanese people visited there as well as foreign tourists. At Asakusa, Nakamise shopping street was also decorated with special ornaments like auspicious rice cakes, Kites, tops...etc. It was my pleasure to tell you about those traditional things. Because you were so interested in each of them. I hope you will come back to Tokyo in a different season to enjoy different face of it. I am looking fo... read more

“ Going around Tokyo for a cultural experience with the subway with more confidence ”

It was a very wonderful experience to be guided by Keiko in Tokyo. She explains the history and culture very well. Keiko is very patient and accommodating. She acceded to our requests and made the experience sight seeing around north part of Tokyo very memorable. Thank you, Keiko!

Dear Anita Thank you very much for your wonderful review of my tour. It was a memorable tour for me, too. Through this tour, I was able to know more about Islam. It is fantastic. At the same time, I found some similar points with ours in your culture. Has the lucky boy already been using the new camera ? Maybe he took beautiful Mt. Fuji with it. I hope you will have great days in Japan and go back to your country in safe. I am looking forward to seeing you again here in Tokyo. Please say hello to your lucky and clever boy. Best Regards, Keiko

“ Very Accommodating ”

We had a great 2 days with Keiko. She was punctual and flexible when we asked her to meet us at our hotel even though it was out of her way. We were able to adjust our itinerary each day based on what we wanted to do. She knew all the places to get free samples at the Tsukiji fish market. We wanted to sample Japanese food so she took us to several places. She pointed out the best places to take pictures. She provided interesting information about each of the sites we visited. We rode a lot of trains and she got us around quickly. We highly recommend Keiko.

Dear Sandra, Thank you very much for your wonderful review of my tour. The days with me were the first two days of your trip around Japan, so I tried to inform the general aspects of Japanese culture. I was very happy because you were so enthusiastic that you often took notes and took pictures. I sometimes talked how your country influenced on Japanese modernization, and each time I did , you said that your country also was influenced from ours. I also wanted you to try as much Japanese food as possible. You courageously tried various kinds of Japanese food. I hope you will enjoy the rest of your trip in Japan and go back to your country with wonderful memories. Please say hello to your kind and friendly family members. Best Wishes, Keiko
