Hello! My name is Takeshi. Please call me Tony.
I was born in Tokyo. I worked for Canon for more than 30 years including a 5-year assignment to the U.S. office. Before joining Canon, I received a master's degree in engineering in the United States.
After retiring from the company, I began working as a volunteer guide for foreign visitors in Kamakura and Yokohama.
However, I became fascinated by the beautiful nature of Nagano prefecture and decided to move here to the Yatsugatake Mountains, 1000m above sea level in Nagano last year.
Since then I go out to look at the breathtaking mountains, lakes, and shrines every day. I would like to guide you to these special sites and also share with you the Japanese culture in my guided tours.
I am a Licensed Guide Interpreter in English and a Certified Travel Service Administrator. My hobby is Aikido and I hold the 2nd Dan black belt.
Hope to see you soon.

Takeshi is great guide! He gave us very good observation of the major highlights of Tokyo, it’s history and the culture. Takeshi is also a great person - From the time of making our reservation, until the very end, he was very accommodating, flexible, and attending our (unexpected) needs. We highly recommend Takeshi!
I am glad you enjoyed the tour. I hope you continue to have a wonderful time in Japan.
Had a wonderful time with Takeshi. We didn't have much time to spare in Tokyo so we had to be as effecient as possible - Takeshi was happy to craft and alter an itenriary on the day to take to us to as many places as we can see / let us have the rest we need across when needed. Especially appreciated the little things Takeshi assisted with, such as booking lunch / buying Skytree tickets early
Thank you for writing the review. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the day. Especially, I was happy I could show you cherry blossoms at the imperial Palace. Hope to see you again.
My clients, Mohan Ramachandran and his family, had a wonderful tour of Nagano and Ueda with Takeshi-San. They were stunned by Zenkoji Temple, saw so many sakura groves, and had a delicious Indian lunch at a local restaurant. They really enjoyed and learned so much from Takeshi. Thank you!
Ashish-san, thank you for your review. I am glad they could enjoy the day in Nagano. The cherry blossoms just started to bloom in Ueda castle ruin park, but it was pretty.
He chose some wonderful places to visit while we were in Kiso Valley area. Just beautiful country near the Japanese alps, we even got snow in April! Takashi is knowledgable and kind, helping every step of the way with the language barrier. We stayed in a wonderful Ryokan which Takeshi helped me with, and had we know how lovely, would have carved out more time. A paradise for hikers, and just anyone wanting a slower pace, it was most welcome after 5 days in Tokyo. Takeshi was great in every way, even helping with our load of luggage. Note.... there is a service that will forward your luggage to your next stop, so if you choose a sort stay somewhere you can just take a small bag, as most of this area in Japan is antiqated, and full of history .... which is it’s charm.
Thank you for your review. Also, it became a memorable guiding for me to Kiso valley with snow-fall in April. Hope to see you again.
The tour was everything I hoped for. Takeshi pre-arranged visits to various locations through the town, including a private tour of a miso brewery by the owner. Takeshi's local knowledge and translations made for a memorable tour.
Thank you for your review. I am glad you liked the tour. Please visit Japan again.
