My day with Mike went great. He had everything planned out for the day and even ideas for the rest of my trip. He was very nice and easy to talk to. He took care of everything during trip so all I had to was enjoy the mountain, town and temples. If you need a thoughtful and professional guide I recommend masahisa for your trip. Arigato gozimashita masahisa-san. Randal.
Randal So exhausted to walk, aren't you ? Thank again for your frequent visit despite in midst of recent full of oddies atmosphere here. Your travel to Dublin next year must be something of a homecoming. Lots of similarity between Irish (Celtic) mythology and our Shinto religion. Big screen "The Quiet Man", also the hill of Tara create an atmosphere akin to the same as yours (homecoming sentiment), besides same customs of "Round" in Ginness Store House in Dublin, even though we do not have warning signboard of "watch fairy folk" on the road. Good luck for your frequent venture in the far east and wish your safe return home, hopefully with great many memory. Thanks Masahisa
We booked a tour with Masahisa in Kyoto but his help started way before our tour. He sent me hotel recommendations, instructions for taxi drivers in Japanese, directions to and from several cities by train. This attention to detail continued into our tour. While the day was long, Masahisa (Mike) made sure we didnt miss anything. Thank you so much The Padilla Family
Janet Wish your safe return home, hopefully with great family memories. Thank for visiting us and the name of Packers reminded me of my life in windy city. Yes the temper always reached a boiling point in the rivalry particularly between Packers, including 5 super bowl championship fought each other. (Packers won 5, Bears won 1) I still remember the days in 1985, a windy city was in a chaos on every street to celebrate Bears championship and I was so lucky to share the moent with neighbours. Super Bowl LIV to be held in Miami on Feb 2 this year and wish next year to be held in Green Bay. Best regards to your husband. Thanks Masahisa
Knowledgeable, personable and amazingly kind. We were a 3 generation group which made the day trip to Kyoto challenging. However Mike (as he likes to be called) pulled off a miracle and made sure everyone was well taken care off. He knows his history and had us all immersed in the stories behind all the sites we went to. He also was amazingly attentive and at the end of the trip he gave gifts to us that he used his lunch hour to purchase. Thanks so much Mike. You were the best guide anyone could wish or hope for.
Abel Glad to learn your safe arrival home. Christmas light-up on a great street, Orchard Road, Cuppage Plaza and Centerpoint Shopping Mall I lived upstairs and loved must be full of last-minute shoppers in this time of the season. Thank again for your visit with happy family and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thanks Masahisa
Masahisa (“Mike”) has proven the absolute best guide we’ve had thus far in almost a month of touring Japan. He arrived promptly for hotel pickup, totally organized with a formally prepared tour proposal for the day, complete with a brief overview of Japanese history and culture he wrote himself, and tourist information guides of Nara sites and cultural events - all neatly tucked into a transparent file holder. He also proved to be an extremely knowledgeable guide not only regarding Japan’s history and culture, but also of the world at large - a level of cosmopolitanism honed by extended business assignments around the globe on behalf of a major Japanese trading and consulting company. Masahisa is rightly proud of his country and culture and you will not find a more interesting g... read more
Edward Thanks for visiting us from beautiful city, even though more is the shame typhoon stepped in your precious time here. Believe all are also fine with your neighbors and free from any mischief by wildfire. Thank you again for your visit all the way from city I loved. Thanks Masahisa
My son James (24) and I had a terrific day in Kyoto with Masahisa. Before arriving his communication was very comprehensive and suggested an excellent itinerary for us to look at, ensured we could tackle it and covered off personal desires such as type of lunch. It was comprehensive, professional and thoughtful. Which sums up Masahisa. We had a memorable day with him and his knowledge and enthusiasm of both the places we visited but also of Japan and its’ culture made it special. Masahisa is a true gentleman and a wonderful ambassador for Japan. Arigato gozimasu, Masahisa, Our best wishes, Ian and James.
Ian and James It's me to thank for reminding me of great speach of Simon's, ex-SNP leader we Japanese were moved on Mar 12, 2011, also story of St Andrews, yes also congestion charges things in London. Please take sides with us on Mar 20 against South Africa. Thank for visiting us again and wish your safe return home with great memories here. Thanks Masahisa

Dana Thanks for your visit. Wish your safe return home, hopefully with taste of indigenous plum wine in the far east. Thanks Masahisa
We spent the day with Masahisa in Kyoto. He guided us from our hotel in Osaka, all the well to Kyoto and back. Masahisa is so knowledgeable in Japanese culture, and has some great recommendations! He also helped us take photos throughout our day with him. He looked after us very well during the tour, and made different arrangements to suit our capabilities. He even emailed us afterwards with some helpful tips! If you want to spend your time well in Japan, we would definitely recommend spending it with Masahisa! (I know I sound like a promo bot, but Masahisa really was above expectations!!!)
Velda Thank again for your trip to Kansai in midst of sweltering weather here. Wish your safe return home without any possible mischief by typhoon Rosa now hitting us. Thanks Masahisa
What a well dressed and polite guide. His knowledge was immense and patience was extraordinary. We were sorry we did not have more time with him. His photographic input made our day more memorable. The use of train, underground and taxi transport made our ability to see more essential sites.. His lunchtime dining location was excellent in a peaceful historic building. Full marks to him in creating a great experience.
Malcolm Glad to learn your safe return home. Thank you for your quick stopover and please stay couples of nights in Kyoto next time. Also thanks for reminding me of memories of your beautiful national trust properties, also Cotswolds and Lake Districts. Thanks Masahisa
We enjoyed the tour with Masahisa. He is very knowledgable and professional. His English is excellent.
James Glad to hear from you again. Thank you for your visit and believe you returned home safely with great family memories here. Thanks Masahisa
We had a pleasant and enjoyable time discovering Nara with Masahisa. We had a great experience and his teaching about the culture, religion and site itself was perfect. We hope we will have an opportunity to come back again. All the best, Aurore & Romain.
Romain Thanks again for your visit all the way from beautiful city, even though deeply pained to hear of the fire damage suffered by your Nortre Dame. Happy to attend a beautiful happy couple and yes, please visit us again. Wish you all safe return home with great memories here. Thanks Masahisa
Thank you Masahisa for imparting your knowledge to us about Kyoto and Japanese culture. Our tour was indeed an informative one. I have read about Kyoto how beautiful it is as a city with rich history. But, I appreciate the city better after a tour with Madahisa. Masahisa is very patient. He did not rush us as we took pictures. I highly recommend him as a tour guide.
Marietta Glad to learn your safe return home, hopefully with pleasant memories here. Look forward to meeting you all sometime again. Thanks Masahisa
We had an excellent private tour with ‘Mike.’ A retired global businessman, Mike speaks English fluently. More importantly, he added historical, cultural and religious context for us as we toured Shrines, temples and various neighborhoods throughout Kyoto. He explained the significance of structures, gardens, guardian statues, the training of geishas along with an infinite number of other things needed to truly appreciate what we were seeing. He brought us to a quiet residential neighborhood so we could experience the city as it is for residents and walked us through several markets. At the end of our tour he even recommended a great shopping venue for artisan Japanese crafts. Hire this guide if you can!
Mary Wish you continue pleasant journey in Kyoto and thank you again for your visit to Japan all the way, also safe return home with happy memories here. Thanks Masahisa
An authentically personable, professional and extremely knowledgeable guide. My Kyoto tour with Masahisa has been the highlight of this debut visit to Japan—a truly cultured experience.
Veron Thanks for your quick stopover in Kyoto. Missed several spots to show you in Kyoto this time that must have touched your heart. Wish your long flight back home won't affect your hard work in City of London. Please stay long in Kyoto next time. Thanks Masahisa
We really appreciated our guide’s attentive attitude and enthusiasm to share the knowledge about the culture, points of interest, tips on how to use public transportation, restaurants . Masahisa had really enhanced our experience and made our first day in Japan stress free due to a language barrier . He also made sure we got safely back to our hotel after the tour.
Mila How was Hiroshima ? Crowds in hustle and bustle with long queue everywhere in city center Osaka must be felt a world happening on different planet in your eyes, I presume. Wish you enjoy adventure in wonder world ahead of you here, and safe return home with great memories. Thanks Masahisa
Super patient man who caters to our large group with old and young. Considerate and thoughtful. Highly rated
Ms Gwen Thank you for your visit. Wish your safe return home with happy family memory . How about visiting toward the south next in winter, say Kyushu (hot spring resort) or Okinawa (blue sea). Thanks Masahisa
We had a wonderful experience in our tour of Nara, Japan with Masahisa. There were four of us in our group and Masahisa considered the interests of each of us. Masahisa led us from our hotel in Kyoto to the town of Nara and then back to our hotel. We initially experienced the shopping district and had lunch in Nara and then proceeded to the monumental Buddhist and Shinto temple complex and grounds established around the 6th and 7th century AD. Masahisa has a wealth of knowledge, sharing the rich Japanese culture and highlighting the history of Buddhism and Shintoism in Nara. This was a fabulous experience, a memory for a lifetime and we owe a great deal of gratitude to Masahisa for sharing his time with us.
Mark Great to hear from you again. How about vegan's cuisine at Temple Lodging in Mt Koya. Wish you all safe return home with great memories here. Thanks Masahisa
Masahisa is a wonderful tour guide! He is very knowledgeable and professional. He helped us prioritize the sites we wanted to see in a limited amount of time. We had a great day in Kyoto with Masahisa!
Ms Sonia Thanks for stopover in Kyoto in midst of tight schedule, wish your safe return home. Please pass thanks also to your professor re mobile memory "Leef" things. Please stay a couple of nights here next time. Thanks Masahisa
I had a group of 18 inquisitive college students. Mike was a terrific guide. He will take care of you before, during and after the tour. He is very knowledgeable and lovely. He insisted on taking us to the car on the platform for our train, for example; took tons of group pictures and sent them to us afterward. We had originally planned on two days with Mike, and he helped as we had to reorganize our travel because of a typhoon. He was gracious and flexible, and we couldn't have asked for a better guide.
Ms Kathleen It's me to thank for giving me an opportunity to guide a party who traveled all the way from city I lived and also I loved. I wish I could meet each of college student, full fledged as a journalist here in Japan sometime again. Best regards also to Prof. Thanks / Makino
Mike was a very good tour guide. He had a lot of information to share with us about Nara. He was very pleasant to spend the day with.Nara Park had hundreds of deer walking around and that was very interesting to see them going up to people who would then feed them. There was a lot of walking on our tour but we did not want to miss anything of interest. Mike controlled our pace and made the trip very interesting.
Ms Lynn Thank you again for your visit all the way to Nara and wish you all safe return home, hopefully with great memories in Japan. There are a lot more we want to show you here in Japan and I am looking forward to meeting you all again here. Thanks again. Masahisa Makino
From the day I booked Masahisa (Mike) he has been emailing me about the itinerary and helping me with restaurant choices, even our transportation to Koyasan. He has given me so much information that I feel I have underpaid him! Although I only booked him for 8 hours, he stayed with us until 7pm and brought us back to out hotel. He was very professional and I will not hesitate to book him again for my future tours.
Ms Patricia Glad to know your safe return home, hopefully with great memories here. Thank you for your recent group tour with me, which I also enjoyed a lot. Looking forward to meeting you all sometime again. Thanks Makino
