Hi, I am Toshi (My friends call me T-chan)! My love for travel has inspired me to be a tour guide myself.
I love discovering new cultures, new places (usually off the beaten track), and connecting ******* when I travel. My goal is to give guests a real "local experience"--the kind that I like when I travel.
I've been a licensed tour guide since 2008. I've conducted tours for international guests from the USA, the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Spain, France, Germany, Poland, Kuwait, Mexico, Singapore, the Philippines, and so on. In fact, I conducted 60 tours (one day tours and a-week long tours) in 2018.
I am a former fire officer. As such, I coordinated educational fire department visits, including those for foreign counterparts. I also speak a little Spanish (un poquito).
In my spare time, I give back to the community as a volunteer: tsunami clean-up activities, entertainment at evacuation camps, guide for foreign visitors in affected areas, and at various cultural events.
Let me show you "My Tokyo"! Enjoy the city like a local and maximize your time in Tokyo! Please check out two of my unique tours: (1) Home visit to see real Tokyo living, includes making sush, and (2) Educational tour of an earthquake simulator ride and the Tokyo Fire Museum. You'll learn how the Japanese prepare for the many emergencies in the country.
See you soon!

Toshi was great from start to finish. She always promptly responded to emails prior to the tour, she was very organized with our itinerary and was very knowledgable about the history of Japan. We enjoyed our time with Toshi and would highly recommend her! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.
Thank you so much, Mercedes! It was great spending the day with all of you. We were lucky that Hakone was not crowded and everything went smoothly as we had planned. The red Torii gate in Lake Ashi looked so serene and sacred. Have you taken any nice photos? I hope you've taken plenty of pictures to add in your collection. The atmosphere was so peaceful in the moss garden of Hakone Museum that we felt like it was our private garden. Visiting to Hakone Open Air Museum was a perfect photo opps for your social network service, isn’t it? Please come back in April when Mt.Fuji has a snow cap and cherry blossoms are blooming. Hope to see you again.
Our tour with Toshi was enjoyable for she is patient, organized and full of useful tips and information. When she found out my son likes robots she located a robot exhibition that was one of the highlights of the day. After the tour she sent us an email with an overview of what we did, the type of food we ate as well as tips and photos. Toshi even had maps showing Tokyo of the past and present. My only regret is that I did not meet her earlier as I would have liked to have more than one tour with her. Next time I am back in Japan I will definitely use Toshi. Thank you,Toshi!
Hi Doreen! So delighted to hear your son liked the Asimo show. It was amazing to see the humanoid robot run, jump, and sing. It was so cool when he spoke to your son in English. It was quite interesting to see how they developed the robots so they could do all those things, wasn't it? I'm personally quite touched by your feedback as I do my best to give my tours a human touch and local flavor. That's not something even robots and Google Maps can do (not yet, anyway!). Thank you for your thoughtfulness. I was so touched that I put your Thank You card in the private memory book where I keep photos of my tours and my guests. Hope to see you again!
Toshi took us on a 4 day tour in Tokyo. She was amazing! Toshi is funny, knowledgeable, and full of energy. She showed us all of the areas we wanted to see, explained each place in great detail and took us to eat at the best food places. We had the best time with Toshi. We highly recommend her and her English is great! Amazing tour guide. Couldn’t be happier.
Hi Michelle and Guy! It was a lot of fun taking you around Tokyo on our 4-day tour. We went to so many places and sampled a wide variety of food & drink! (Were you able to bring home any sake?) Highlights of the tour were Tsukiji Fish Market and Shinobazu pond. You were just in time to see the pond completely covered with the gloriously beautiful lotus flowers. It was a perfect photo opp with the temple in the background. So pretty! It was gratifying to see you enjoy (premium fatty part of the tuna) at the fish market. It melts in the mouth! Promise me you'll be back with your daughters. They'll surely enjoy their Tokyo adventure too!
Very flexible and open. Originally we already had a schedule but since we already covered some sites she was very flexible and accommodating to change and tried to solve all our problems.
Thank you, Hanna! It was great to meet you and your family. You made a good choice in Odaiba. It's both family-friendly and wheelchair-accessible. Perfect for your kids and your mom! It was hard to leave the pet shop, wasn't it? The sweet 2-month old puppies were calling your name! Did you enjoy exploring the digital art museum on your own? We were lucky to get tickets at the door. (They must have been leftovers from online sales.) I hope you can all make it back in either the spring or the fall. Both have its unique charms--cherry blossoms in the spring and chrysanthemums in the fall. Hope to see you again soon!
Toshi met me at my hotel (where she was early) and we sat to plan the day. She presented me with maps (to keep) and off we went. She was exactly what I was looking for in a guide. She was very knowledgeable and pointed out details that I would have missed like why there are fish on top of the Imperial Palace buildings to which store Lady GaGa bought a costume from and how to correctly cleanse and bow at the temples. We crammed in a ton and she even worked longer than our scheduled tour to make sure I made it back to the hotel. I wish I had booked Toshi for my entire stay, she was fantastic.
Thank you, Colleen! I'm humbled by your glowing review. It was quite an enjoyable day for me too! We managed to see both the traditional and edgy parts of Tokyo in 4 hours. The East Garden of the Imperial Palace was so serene, we could hardly believed we were in the center of Tokyo! In Harajuku, the high-tech sushi train was a lot of fun even for us grownups, wasn’t it? The chirping sound the iPad (which takes orders) gave off was a surprise. The sushi we ordered arrived via shinkansen (bullet train). So cute! Please come back soon! Let's explore the area more! Each season brings something different to Tokyo! Hope to see you soon!
