Mayumi collected me from my hotel reception area and we embarked on our Central Hiroshima and Okonomiyaki (Local Food) Tour. The Peace Park and Museum was a moving experience with the stories of the survivors being as harrowing as those poor people who died on the day or shortly after. Mayumi's father was also badly affected by the bombing and Mayumi told me about his involvement with the recovery and clean up mission of the city. The walk around the park and seeing the atomic bomb dome complimented what I had seen in the museum. Finally, we enjoyed some of the local speciality, Okonomiyaki. It was delicious! Thank you Mayumi for a wonderful afternoon.
Dear Clive, I appreciate your excellent review. I am very grateful to know you enjoyed the afternoon tour with me and you also had fun at the Hiroshima castle with full of Chrysanthemums and the Miyajima island on the following day. Yes, although most people in Japan or in the world are likely to point to cherry blossoms as a symbolic flower of Japan, actually the diplomatically official Japanese flower can be the 16-petal chrysanthemum used for the imperial seal or their family crest, which may be seen on the cover of Japanese passports or on the top of the tori gate of the Meiji Shrine in Tokyo and so on. Please come back to Japan to explore it more, next time with your family. Sorry, the rugby world cup is not going to be held here anymore for a while, though....Lol. Best, Mayumi.
We are a family of 8, with kids included. Mayumi had helped us plan for our Rabbit Island and Hiroshima Trip from start til we parted ways in Hiroshima Station. She had provided us with the best possible itinerary and had been very accommodating to all our queries and concerns. During the tour proper, she was able to explain in detail the history, the place, the people and allowed us to really have a great experience of what Rabbit Island, Hiroshima and Miyajima has to offer. We are all grateful and appreciative of what had transpired in these 2 days. We will definitely consider going back to Hiroshima-Miyajima and even explore other areas nearby in a much longer time. Thank you so much Mayumi for taking care of our family last October 28 - 29, 2019.
Dear Kristine, I highly appreciate your amazing review. It was surely my pleasure to have served you all as a guide. Yea, you know how to enjoy yourselves and find joy in anywhere. I also very much enjoyed the days I spent with your family... which was a lovely memory, indeed.. Please visit Hiroshima-Miyajima area again to find more joy and fun around here. And give my big bear hug to Johann and Hannah, please! They are just adorable. Thank you so much again. Best, Mayumi

Dear John, I thank you very much for your wonderful review. Two more days!!... will pray for England victory. Best, Mayumi
Mayumi guided my wife and I and another couple around Hiroshima and Miyajima Island. She was very personable and tried at all times to take care of us. She was knowledgeable about Japanese history and culture. Her early years in the U.S. showed in her very understandable English skills. One in our group has bad knees, and Maymi hired a taxi to minimize walking. We were pleased with our day spent with Maymi.
Dear Steve, Thank you so much for taking your valuable time for this wonderful review. I really appreciate it. I am glad to know you enjoyed my tour in Hiroshima. Because of the typhoon, we were so worried about the itinerary of your cruise ship, though. It was my great pleasure meeting you all at the port as planned. Please give my best regards to your gracious wife, Margaret. Best regards, Mayumi
