After meeting at the hotel where my daughter and I stayed in Fukuoka, all of us went to the station to go to Nagasaki. Right when we arrived in Nagasaki, Hitomi talked about Nagasaki and its history and a lot more information that we didn't know about before. She explained things clearly, had taught my daughter how to do origami and also taught her how to properly rinse and pray at the temple. She had also brought us to a great restaurant for lunch. I highly recommend Hitomi because of how informative she is and she also has great English.
I'm glad you enjoyed the tour in Nagasaki. Yes, Nagasaki is a very interesting and unique place that I love taking people there. It was nice climbing all the 193steps with you, hope you liked the view from the shrine! Please come back to Kyushu again for Takachiho next time! Hitomi
Hitomi is an excellent Tour Guide. We were a group of six persons from Malaysia with no Japanese language skills. Her English language skills was more than adequate - better than some of us. She was very prompt which is important. She arranged a tour that suited are available time and adjusted as needed. She was very polite and consideration of our needs. She was very knowledgeable of the places we visited including the history and culture. She also did an excellent job in getting us all from one place to the next tour stop. That was not easy but she knew how to arrange the transportation. All of my group was very satisfied with the cost. In fact, we thought it was a "bargain" and would have paid more for such good service. I would definitely use Hitomi again. She was excelle... read more
Hello Jimmy. Thank you for your kind message. It was nice meeting you all and I had lots fun talking with you too. I'm very happy to hear that you all had good time. It was fun taking your group to that sushi restaurant, they seemed really enjoy it, especially your wife:) So you made it to Nagasaki ok the next day, great! If you come back to Kyushu again, please let me take you to Miyazaki and show you beautiful shrines and we'll have delicious fresh fish lunch. Please take good care and say hello to all your friends for me. Hitomi
We spent a day with Hitomi while on a cruise of Japan. She met us at the port, and we traveled to the Aoshima shrine. It was a rainy day, but Hitomi was very knowledgeable, and the shrine was beautiful. After the shrine, we had a traditional Japanese lunch that was very good, and then visited the bedrock bath which was a fun and very unique experience. I highly recommend it, and Hitomi was terrific the whole day.
Thank you for your kind message. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour despite of the unfortunate rain. I think the bedrock bath is an unique experince you can do in that area. The restaurant is one of my favorites and recommended places, I'm glad you liked it. Please come back again and we will welcome you with the shiny sun next time! Hitomi
We had an excellent time with Hitomi. We covered almost everything on our proposed itenerary and she has excellent English. Highly recommended.
Dear Ted, Thank you for your kind review. I'm glad you enjoyed your time and food at the restaurant. 193 steps was a bit tough thing to do after your itinerary in Busan, sorry about that. Please come to Kyushu again, and I will show you many other interesting sites! Hitomi
Coming into Nagasaki straight from Hiroshima, already having some prior knowledge about the atomic bombs, Hitomi showed me around Nagasaki and it's history. Going through Glover Garden and some brief history about Mitsubishi (yeah it's not just a TV company), Oura Church, then the atomic bomb museum, and the Peace Park. Everything from the beginning to the end had a purpose. Each and every new place we went to had more details than the last, so the pieces of the puzzle was being put together. She is the perfect story teller. Even when it was all over, she even shown me where to get Yakitori! I had a blast. It's not everyday I get to have that much fun with someone. I wish I could spend two days with her.
Hi Eric, I had such a great time with you too. It was nice to hear your thoughts and ideas, I was actually impressed by you for the reasons you came to visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Thank you for your visit and I'm proud that I guided you. So I guess you enjoyed your dinner at that yakitori place, sorry I couldn't join you there. Please enjoy your trip and the concert in Tokyo. If you come visit Fukuoka next time, we go to a really good yakitori restaurant and have lots sake together;) Hitomi
Hitomi picked us up at the cruiseship terminal an made a perfect tour. She had Even found a small beautiful Garden, especially for us. We had a great day, her english was very good, even for german visitors.
Hello Eva and Thomas Thank you for your kind review. It makes me happy that you liked the tour. The garden was beautiful and relaxing, it started to rain when we were there but I found it pretty nice! I had a fun conversation at the small hut. Thank you for sharing the time and hope to see you again! Hitomi
My wife and I had a great day with Hitomi. She picked us up at the cruise terminal. Her English was outstanding. She took us to many of the local sights in the city and to a local restaurant for lunch. She showed us how to ride the local tram and returned us to the cruise terminal at the end of the day. If you need a guide for Nagasaki you cannot go wrong with Hitomi.
Dear Chris and Helen I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour in Nagasaki. It was a big pleasure to show you around the city and to share some time together. Thank you for choosing me as the guide and giving me a kind review! Please come back to Kyushu again, I'm willing to introduce you some other beautiful and interesting areas! Hitomi
Alex & Gina Gracias amigos, It was a big pleasure to meet you and spend 4days together! It was an adventure to visit many places by car, and I gotta say you are such a great driver! and Gina is such a sweet and kind person. It was nice listening you two speak in Spanish, it reminded me of old time in California and Sevilla, made me want to learn Spanish again. I'm glad that I could help your trip in Kyushu area. Hope to show you around the south area of Kyushu next time. Thank you very much for your kind review, and it was really nice meeting you both. All the best, Hitomi
Hitomi was a very considerate and accommodating tour guide! She was careful with our time and also spoke English beautifully. We were so happy to have her as our guide instead of taking a tour arranged by our cruise ship in Nagasaki.
Dear Sandra, Thank you for your kind review. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour and it was a pleasure to spend some time with you two. If you ever come back to Kyushu, I'd love to show you some other interesting and beautiful places. Thank you so much for taking my tour, I hope to see you again! Enjoy your trip with your friend! Hitomi
We had a great time in Nagasaki with Hitomi. Her English is excellent, and she is very easy going and flexible. She didn’t rush us along, found toilets when our small group of older people needed them, and walked at a pace that was comfortable. She took us to a great local restaurant for lunch, had us ride the street cars to get around, and made us feel more like locals than tourists. Hitomi was one of our best guides in Japan and we highly recommend her to tourists from the United States.
Dear Cynthia, Thank you so much for your kind review. It was such a pleasure to show you around my favorite city. And thank you for your corporation during the tour, it made the tour go smooth. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed your lunch at the local restaurant. The streetcar to the museum was packed with people! I'm glad you felt it more like locals, it was an experience(^^) Please come back to Kyushu again, I want to show you more of interesting places! Hitomi
Hitomi gave us a two day tour of Nagasaki which was very informative. She helped us choose great spots do visit. Her preparations ensured an excellent tour. Hitomi made the history of Dejima came alive. She chose an excellent restaurant for the Nagasaki specialty Chan-pon Hitomi guided us through the Atom Bomb memorial describing Nagasaki’s saddest day, and showing us how Nagasaki’s recovery is an example for the world.
It was such a pleasure spending time with you both. I really enjoy having conversation and sharing some thoughts. It was a first time that I took my guest to Nyokodo and Dr.Nagai's memorial hall, and I was actually touched by that. I hope you will find the book in English or you will be able to read it in Japanese in a future. And I'm glad you liked the restaurants, I really liked the curry! Arigatougozaimashita, hope to see you two again! Hitomi
Review by Jo: Hitomi is a marvelous guide: thoughtful, thorough, knowledgeable and flexible. She was able to adjust to the fact that she was guiding 3 folks in their 70’s with walking issues and provide us with doable experiences. We had a wonderful lunch at an historic Nagasaki restaurant mid-day that was so much fun. She has a great sense of humor and we would not hesitate to use Hitomi again or to highly recommend her to others. Thank you Hitomi for an educational and comfortable day. We invite you to come visit us in Alaska! //------------// Review by Eleanor: Hitomi provided a very personally designed tour for our group of three Alaskans. She had relevant background anecdotes from a western/eastern perspective. When we asked for a change in our intended itinerary she quickly a... read more
Dear Jo and Eleanor Thank you so much for your heartwarming review. I am really glad that I could support your day in Nagasaki. Yes, the food there was great and we were so lucky to have our seats so fast! I believe it was your lucky day including having the beautiful weather. And I also wanted to thank you for sharing your precious time and your story in the atomic bomb museum. It is tough and not a fun thing to do, but I have a great respect for people who spend their time to learn the fact. Thank you. Now I'm very curious and interested to see Alaska and of course Juneau! (it does look like Nagasaki! amazing. Hitomi
It was a reminder of the tremendous sufferings of war brought to the unknowing population. Wars started by politicians and generals... sufferings and loss of lives in the end for all mankind.. Miss Hitomi conveyed through her heartfelt explanations and narratives the sufferings of the Japanese people...
Hello Hi san, Thank you for the review! It was a big pleasure to guide you around the city and I was happy to be able to share time with you. Visiting Gunkanjima was quite interesting although we weren't able to land the island. I think Nagasaki is one of the most interesting places to visit in Japan and we can learn so much from the history of Nagasaki, the war, religions, the national seclusion.. Thank you for taking my tour, hope you make it to Takachiho next time! Hitomi
Very good and very supportive
Hi Malou, Thank you for the review! I'm glad you enjoyed the tour in Fukuoka and Sushi at the restaurant. I hope you'll have lots fun tomorrow in Nagasaki and make lots good memories together! Hitomi
I was pleasantly surprised to see such a relaxing itinerary for a shore excursions out of Aburatsu port. I'd been panicking about what to do for a shore excusion with my family and was so happy to find this tour. She was such a great guide to teach and care fo our large group (1 child, 2 elderly, 7 adults) everyone with different needs and interests, but Hitomi was so accommodating and lovely, including the arrangement of our micro bus rental for our group, lunch reservations, etc. Hitomi and our driver were very patient with our group. We also loved the little details like her hand-drawn backstory for Udo shrine, recommendations for food Miyazaki is known for, and explainations for how to enjoy the bedrock bath. Even after the visit, my family kept raving about the views, food, and the b... read more
Dear Anna It was a great pleasure to guide you and your family in Miyazaki and I’m so glad you enjoyed the view of Nichinan coast! That’s one of the best things we are very proud of. I could tell you all liked the food from the restaurant, that’s great! You gotta try our beef if you ever come back to Miyazaki next time! I’ve been to several bedrock baths, but that place is the best, the location and also the quality, you’d made a good decision of taking your family there !(^^)! Thank you for picking me as your guide, I was happy to meet you all! (Please say hello and thank you to your family member.) Hitomi
Awesome guide, fantastic time! Highly recommended!
Thank you Kim! It was my pleasure to guide you around the city. I was very happy to see your smile during the tour. You both made a pretty souvenir at Hakata doll painting place. And it was fun and new at the owl café! Next time if the weather permits, let's go to Ohori park and try the duck boat ride!
Hitome took the 4 of us around Nagasaki showing us all the sights with her warm and charming style. Her English is excellent and she had the answers to all our questions. Thoroughly recommend.
Hello Allan, Thank you for your kind comments on my tour. I was happy to take you to my favorite places like Suwa shrine and the peace park, and of course the Glover's house! And I'm glad you all liked "Kakuni manjyu"! It was pretty fun having it at that small place. Thank you for letting me be part of your journey! Hitomi
Hitomi was a delight to be with! Her English is impeccable! She is so organized, had our tickets ready for buses, trains etc so no time wasted in line! Loved the Buddha, we still talk about the dark tunnel and how spiritual the experience was! Asahi beer was great and we’re looking for that dark beer here in the states! The ramen stadium was amazing, so delicious! Thank you for taking our food choices into consideration! And finding those obscure souvenirs topped off our evening! Hitomi, you are a great person and wonderful guide! If we ever make it back we are going to book you again! Thank you you for a very relaxing, adventurous, spiritual and fulfilling day!
Dear Julie Wow, your review made my day!! Thank you so much for giving me such words, and it makes me really really happy to hear that you had great time in Japan, because that is my goal, mission to do this work. We were so lucky to have Hitomi as our guide in Beppu. She is so knowledgeable about the impressive colourful hot springs scattered all over the region. The highlight of the tour was the jigoku-mushi steamed food! We would certainly recommend her services to anyone wishing to visit Beppu and its surroundings. She is such a kind person and takes good care of her guests.
Thank you Soan! I'm glad you enjoyed my tour in Beppu. It was my pleasure to guide you, I had a really great time with you and your family! Our Family enjoyed the tour with Hitomi. We visited the Udo-shrine. There you have an impressive view on the Pacific. The shrine itself is build in a cave. And Hitomi tell you why the shrine was built. Afterwards we did go to the moai statues. Where also a small Museum is located. Finally we enjoyed a cafe in Miyazaki downtown. Thanks for all!
