Hello I’m Mike, a national licensed tour guide from Kyoto.
Meeting with people is a gift of God for me.
A new encounter inspires and enriches my heart.
People sometimes ask me unexpected questions I can’t answer on the spot.
Guiding is like a thrilling, adventurous journey.
You never get older indeed.
I retired from work as a teacher at senior high school and then started this job in 2015.
I’m familiar with Japanese history, culture, religion and architecture.
Japan is a country with a variety of delicious food.
Each place has its own food specialty.
Food is an essential part of my tours.
Some of my guests are interested in daily life experiences, agricultural or cultural experiences.
Anniversary tour, honeymoon tour, graduation tour, etc are also available.
Over these years I have guided 200 solo or group tourists from Us, Canada, Europe and Asia.
My guide areas are mainly Kyoto, Nara and Osaka. But as a national tour guide, I guide around Tokyo, Kamakura, Hakone, Nagoya.
I love organizing the whole trip in Japan.

Excellent and easy communication with Masaki during preparation for the tour. Masaki speaks very good English. He answered all questions promptly and thoroughly and he made suggestions and sent photos of alternative sights to see when one of the places we wanted to go to was not open on the date of our tour. He went out of his way to book us additional services like the rickshaw and a van which was a last-minute decision. Everything was planned out well. Day 1 was Kyoto by van and day 2 was Osaka by public transpo. Masaki picked us up on time from our Kyoto Airbnb with the van he booked for us and dropped us off at our Osaka Airbnb after the tour. It was a very long day but everything worked out well! He picked us up again the next day from our Osaka Airbnb for our Osaka tour. Masaki gave ... read more
We had a wonderful day with Masaki. He gave us a lot of information about the places we visited and managed to steer us through the New Year crowds. Also he was happy to give tips and information about things to do by ourselves. He took lots of photos for us . Regards Ian,Lisa &Emma
Hi Ian Thank you for a prompt review. On New Year Day, Kyoto was crowded everywhere. Hope she will dance in Japan on TV. She has a talent. Thanks to cooperation, our tour went smoothly. Your Japan tour still continues, take care of yourselves because Japan becomes colder from now on. See you again.
I highly recommend Masaki. He show us around Ōsaka. Masaki’s English is very good. He is very knowledgeable! We will make sure to recommend him with our friends. Thank you! Thank you! Masaki we really enjoyed our Ōsaka tour. Julio & Teresa
Masaki could not have worked harder. He took us to all of the places we wanted to see and tailored the itinerary perfectly. He is full of knowledge and good humour. We did not simply see the sights, we learned about the history of Zen Buddhism, meditation practice and breathing and Japanese philosophy. After the tour was over, he sent us over 70 excellent photos that he had taken during the day, which is a great souvenir. This was a first class day out and we highly recommend Masaki.
Hi Christian, Thank you for sending a good message. I'm very happy to share my knowledge about the meditation method with you. Did Anita start meditation today? No matter how short your time is, practice it in succession. Practice makes perfect. By the way, Christian you are sure to be the best son in the world. See you again. Masaki
Masaki is a very passionate guide who takes his time to explain every aspects of the culture; he made my stay in Kyoto very memorable
Hi Catherine, Thank you for a good review. Yes, as you say, it was a very unique tour indeed. This encounter is a gift from God. Probably both of us are a good person. See you again. Masaki
