As I am a 60 year old man, born in Tokyo, graduated from a university in Tokyo and worked for a leading paper wholesale company at its headquarters for 35 years, I am an Edokko or a native Tokyoite. I am familiar with various interesting places in Tokyo and the Kanto area such as historic spots, scenic beauty, entertainment, restaurants and so on. Although I basically provide several regular walking tours for visitors from abroad, I am willing to arrange your tour plan in a customized way according to your interest. If I receive your inquiry, I am ready to hear your interest and what you want to experience, and discuss your plan with you in advance.

We were very fortunate to have Hiroyuki Iwai as our Certified English Guide for our half day tour to the National Diet, Tsukiji's Inner and Outer Markets and his guidance to Ueno's National Tokyo Museum. Hiroyuki is very intelligent, patient, caring and flexible! He exhibited these qualities throughout our walking tour. He arrived early at our Hotel in Ueno to start our trek to Japan's National Diet via subway. He taught us how to plan and ride the subway by using a wall map at the Ueno station. The maps also told us how much money we needed for the tickets and the route we were taking to arrive at our designated site. When we arrived at the National Diet Building, he registered us and related to the National Diet guards my husband's inability to walk up a flight of stairs! He aske... read more
Dear ELOISE Thank you for your heart-warming message. I am very pleased to hear that you fully enjoyed a tour in Tokyo. Your message is an encouragement for me to get much better in my guiding skill and knowledge. On the other hand, I always think that it is important to consider customers' feeling depending on the situation. Your family members are all friendly and knowledgeable. I wish your happiness and prosperity. Hiroyuki
Hiroyuki was better than the best need I say more. He is funny patient and thrives to make his customer happy. And creates an itenrary that is perfect to our needs. He took us all over town. Fish market, haroujouko & Ginza. And we eat at a great Hibashi restaurant. And we didn’t feel rushed.
Rania, thank you for your comment for me. I am very pleased to have served you as a guide. I am sorry that I could have made your trip more enjoyable. You maybe had a good memory, and also a bad experience. However, overall, Japanese people are kind and honest. In the near future, I want you to come to Japan again. At that time, I will take you to Kyoto. I wish you and your familiy happiness and prosperity. Hiroyuki
Hiroyuki was very kind. The tour he brought us on was great and each stop had significance. We anchored the trip with the Shinjuku Gyoen and how its role changed from an aristocrats residence to an imperial garden after the Meiji restoration, along with viewing of the cherry blossoms and some great photo opportunities. We walked past the gymnasium built for the 1964 olympics and the site of the new stadium for the 2020 olympics. Even briefly stopping at the Meiji Memorial Picture gallery we learned about the life and role of the Meiji Emporer and the changes he brought about. We learned about the poetry of the Emporer and his court at the Nezu museum, we experienced the modern culture that was made possible by this history as we walked along Omote-sando and Takeshita street, and it was... read more
Dear Robert I am very pleased that you, your wife and your daughter enjoyed the tour yesterday. To be honest, your wife is expecting a baby and your daughter is five year old, so I was a bit worried that a walking tour would make a burden on them. As a result, it seemed that all of you have been satisfied with all experiences on the route and made a safe trip? Its my great pleasure. If you know anyone who are interested in a walking tour in or around Tokyo, please inform me and I am sure to realize their wishes. Finally, your daughter is very cute and I remember walking hand in hand together with her. When she grows up, I wish to see her again. Thank you very much! Hiroyuki
As first time visitors to Japan (parents and 2 teenagers), we hired Hiroyuki to help us simplify and streamline the logistics of getting around Tokyo. We wanted to spend time seeing things, not figuring out how to get from point A to point B. We also wanted to see some of Tokyo "behind the scenes" or "off the beaten path". We had a good sense from various books of what we wanted to see, but weren't sure of the best order in which to see them. We sent our list of Hiroyuki and he organized it into three full days of touring, including picking out great spots for meals and taking us into some back streets to see how people live on a daily basis. After our initial plan was established, he was flexible to adapt it as our pre-trip discussions with friends said "you've got to see this". He... read more
Dear Marshall I am very pleased to have joined your travel in Tokyo and helped you conduct it smoothly. First, the whole three day tour was carried mainly on foot but I was surprised that your family members were all good walkers. Second, you are very kind and considerate even towards me. Third, your daughters are very charming and I remember talking to them, though sometimes joking, while walking. I wish you and your family members happiness. Someday, I hope I will see you again in Japan. When I looked back on my guiding including various explanations about things and listening to what customers say I need to improve my English ability. The job about accompanying you is memorable. Thank you very much! Hiroyuki
Hiroyuki, was an outstanding guide, he shared a lifetime of experiences, we all enjoyed being part of Tokyo, riding the trains walking through the parks and enjoying the historical sites so beautifully maintained. Hiroyuki' flexiblity and city knowledge enhanced our first time experience in Tokyo.
Dear Alice I remember walking together with you and your family. I am very pleased that you enjoyed the whole tour in Tokyo. If you visit Japan again in the future, I recommend you have an excursion from the middle of Tokyo. I wish you and your family happiness. Thank you very much. Hiroyuki
