I am Eriko, a mother of two adult sons, a former backpacker, and a national licensed tour guide with open mind. I was born and grew up in Aichi Prefecture in central Japan, and have lived in Tokyo with my family for almost 30 years.
My childhood dream was to become a flight attendant, an English interpreter, or an expert who can command the English language. Also I like Japanese history. I therefore majored in Japanese history and minored in English-language education, and worked as an English teacher at a high school and a preparatory school. After enjoying parenting and my hobbies in Hong Kong and Tokyo, I worked as a Tokyo Metropolitan volunteer tour guide for two years.
I finally got the certified tour guide license in 2017. Since then, I have taken special guiding training in various places such as TOKYO, NIKKO, HAKONE, KYOTO, NARA and more. Also, I'm very familiar with my hometown areas such as AICHI and GIFU including NAKASENDO ROAD, TAKAYAMA, SHIRAKAWAGO etc. I have delivered around 60 tours in those areas now, and clearly realized this is my favorite and best job blending my childhood dream, interests and pleasure.
There are a lot of things I enjoy such as traveling, meeting with people from the world, photography, appreciating art, doing gardening, learning what I have not known yet. Especially, I like traveling at home and abroad based on the itineraries I make on my own. I have explored more than 20 countries so far, and was always helped by local people when I got troubles. Even though those troubles have turned priceless, from my experiences, having local guides and learning Japan from them would make your travel more colorful and unforgettable.
Now I think this is my turn to assist you so you can explore Japan at your own pace and in a relaxing way. I am flexible about destinations and can arrange the tours according to your preference. I'd like to make your travel to Japan special by sharing my experiences, knowledge, and love of all things Japanese with you.
Let's explore Japan together! I'm here to help you!

We can't thank Eriko enough for spending the day with us and touring all over Tokyo. It was incredible. She really tailors the tour to your interests and is wonderful about explaining the culture and traditions. It was such a great way to see Tokyo and experience its many treasures. She even went over her time to show us to the Tokyo museum so that we could enjoy it after our tour. I highly recommend booking a tour with Eriko! Thanks again!
I would highly recommend Eriko as a guide. She was very patient in answering endless questions prior to our trip, listened and planned accordingly to the sites we wanted to see, gave insightful information on things we saw, was always on hand to interpret for us, arranged and made sure we had plenty of time in between transportation links and breaks, and made our trip seamless. It is obvious she loves her country and wants to ensure that we left with a very favourable impression of Japan. Thank you Eriko!
Thank you Eriko for a great 3 days it was a pleasure to have you as our guide in Toyko and Nikko hope to see you again of return to Japn . Cheers Graham Fuller.
Eriko is a well excellant guide and wonderful person. I am a traveler who has been to many locations around the globe and have used multiple personal guiding services. Eriko is the best...if you are considering hiring a English speaking guide, look no further. I visited Tokyo with my 2 adult children. Not only did we see the main Tokyo attractions, but she showed us many “off the beaten path” locations as well. I could go on and on, but really the main thing is she is a great person who knows the city, is educated on Japanese history and speaks excellant English. Thank you Eriko.
Eriko is a very good guide. She Is very knowledgeable and shares a lot while touring us. She also made sure we are comfortable as we are touring with our parents. I would recommend her as a guide.
