Hello. My name is Eiichi and my nick name is Eddy. So, please call me Eddy because Eiichi is difficult for visitors to pronounce.
I am a licensed guide interpreter certified by Japanese government.
I was born and live in Chiba prefecture, which is next to Tokyo and I have worked in Tokyo for more than 20 years. So, I know Chiba and Tokyo very well. My hobby is ceramic art, golf, and Zen meditation, and I like traveling and reading history books. Based on these experience and knowledge, I will introduce Japanese culture and history.
I used to work as an engineer for one of major electronic manufacturers which exports communication systems and components to overseas. Through the job, I visited many countries including New Zealand where I fortunately stayed for four years with my family. I have found it fun to communicate with people in other countries. So, after my recent retirement, I started to work as a licensed guide interpreter.
I’m looking forward to meeting visitors who are interested in Japanese beautiful nature, unique culture, variety of foods or history.

It was a pleasure to meet Eddy and learn more about Japanese culture and the area of Chiba. I appreciated his local knowledge and he paced my morning tour well as I had only just arrived in Chiba the previous day.
Dear Jacqui, Thank you for writing such a nice review of my tour so soon. I am very glad you enjoyed the tour. I hope you will come back to Japan again. Best regards, Eddy
Eddy, is a very knowledgeable and patient guide. He takes the time to teach and make sure you understand the culture. I would definitely recommend him for your guide.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review. I am pleased that you got some knowledge about Japanese culture. You ate “Unajuu”, grilled eel, at a restaurant near the temple. I think that it was a good experience for you. See you again.
We had a great day touring the Western part of Tokyo with Eddy. It was our first full day in Tokyo and he was absolutely fantastic. Creating the itinerary with him was easy--he will give you his input and take yours as well to cater a great and feasible experience. We didn't feel rushed through the sights, which was our initial hesitation in booking a guide. He gave some great history of Japan and offered us some clutch phrases in Japanese. He is very kind, professional, and I would highly recommend him to anyone. We wish he could be with us the rest of our trip! Such a great first day largely due to him. Thank you, Eddy!
Thank you very much for your kind review. It is my great pleasure if you were satisfied. I was very happy to go around Tokyo with a nice and smart couple, because you looked happy during the tour. I felt that your positive thinking and good planning make your life good and happy. I hope you will enjoy the rest of your Japan tour. Congratulations on the second anniversary of your marriage.
Eiichi was a fantastic person to be with. My family and I spent 5 days with him touring Tokyo and the neighboring city of Hakone. He was very patient, caring and informative. He would explain all the sights in great detail and would answer all our questions very patiently. He is a good planner and taught us origami, basic greetings and a lot about the Japanese culture in the times when we were commuting or having meals. He went out of the way to help us, especially with our dietary needs. As an example, he gave us detailed instructions on how to get from the Tokyo train station to our hotel which was very easy to follow. He was very methodical and detailed in the itinerary and cost and was flexible when I wanted to make adjustments a day before. My kids aged 14 and 12 thought he was grea... read more

It was such a pleasant experience for me, too. Although it was very hot every day, all of you followed me to see various places with curiosity. Thank you for your cooperation. I was happy to hear that you made many pleasant memories. Please come back to Tokyo someday soon. I am waiting for you. Thank you again and take care! Eddy(Eiichi)
