Travel makes you a happier person by breaking routine, building self-confidence, and providing new experiences and memories.
I’m a full-time national licensed tour guide. I studied Japanese Art History when I was a student at Sophia University, Tokyo. One of my hobby is visiting art museums. I had experienced to work as a travel coordinator in one of the multinational companies for years. I am a member of Toastmasters International club where I practice public speaking twice a month. I have enjoyed conducting Tokyo private tours more than 60 times and received excellent reviews from them.
I usually customize a tailor-made tour upon our customers’ requests. I can explain historical back grounds of Temples and Shrines, and the comparison of old things and modern things in Tokyo. I have been guiding major sightseeing spots, including Tsukiji Fish Market, Asakusa, Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine, Shibuya, Shinjuku, etc.
Let’s enjoy Tokyo together.

My wife and I were in Japan for our first time. We arranged a 4-hour tour with Mari for our first full day. Then had a needed day of rest (we walked A LOT, which we were happy to do) and then a second 4-hour tour. Mari made excellent itinerary suggestions and we were efficient but never rushed. Always informative, especially with architecture notes (my wife is an architect). Mari is very attentive and prepared and abides by your preferences (modern vs history, or both). She also has a great sense of humor! Mari is a fantastic, knowledgeable guide and definitely recommended!
Excellend preparation of our tour, as we discussed togehter the places we wanted to visit (not the standard tourist places everyone visits) . The tour mets our expectations and especially the lunch in the Sushi restaurant was delicious.
We really enjoyed our time with Mari, and she is an exceptional guide. Her English is very good, and her knowledge of Japanese history and culture was amazing. Mari was in constant contact with me the entire week prior to the tour, and if I had a question she always replied very promptly. She met us in our hotel lobby which was super convenient, and then she guided us through the subway to our stop at the fish market. We only toured the outside fish market due to time constraints, but it was perfect for us, and again, Mari was very informative about how the fish market operates and showing us the different booths. Our next stop was the sushi making class, and we are SO glad we made this a part of me our week in Japan. The class was set up very professionally, and was extremely clean and organized. The staff were beyond helpful, and we ended up learning to make a sushi cut roll, a crab hand roll, and 8 kinds of nigiri sushi. We will definitely be trying to make our own back home! We had made plans to see Asakusa, but that morning decided to see the Imperial Palace instead, and Mari was so nice to change directions and guide us to the Palace and make sure we received tickets for the tour. While we waited for the tour to start, she took us on a short trip through the East Gardens, which were beautiful. I would absolutely recommend Mari for the sushi making class, or any other type of tour she offers. Next time we’re in Tokyo we will be contacting her to show us another area of Tokyo. Thanks Mari, you’re great!!
We had Mari as our guide for 3 days and she was the perfect companion for our family of 8 with limited knowledge of Tokyo . She was very knowledgeable and had planned every day to give us a great flavour of local culture and history. Thank you for everything Mari.
Mari was very prompt in returning replies to my emails. She helped us to create a tour of Tokyo that worked well into our schedule. Mari was very friendly and knowledgeable and greatly assisted us with navigation and purchasing of our Shinkansen tickets. She was well prepared and organized and gave us a great tour. Thank you Mari!!!
