Eri was a delight to be with in Kamakura. She was friendly and energetic. She gave a very nice tour of the city as we wandered through the city on foot. We discovered a new charming cafe. We would highly recommend her. Rajiv
Dear Rajiv, Thank you so much for your review! Yes, Kamakura is really a walkable city and it may be the best way to get around the places especially on such a beautiful day as our tour day. From our start at Kamakura station, we walked all our way without taking a bus or train during the tour. We enjoyed three places, Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, Zeniarai Benten or Money-washing Benten, and our last stop, Great Buddha together with some shopping on the Komachi-dori shopping streetl. The cafe you wrote about was really nice to take s rest, wasn't it? I myself could experience the joy of leisurely walking to my heart's content. It was such pleasure meeting you all in Kamakura! Best wishes, Eri
Eri was an outstanding tour guide and her English is excellent. She was able to give us an excellent travel experience in Kamakura.
Dear Howard, Thank you so much for your review! While arranging a tour for you and during the tour as well, I found your strong interest in Japanese gardens, especially in Zen Gardens very impressive. Althouth autumn leaves in Kamakura, which was your another desire to enjoy, were a little too early to be fully satisfactory, I was happy that there were some places where maple leaves were beautiful enough for your photo taking. I hope you come back again, maybe during early to middle of December next time. It was great meeting you in Kamakura!! Best regards, Eri
My 84 year old mother and I had a wonderful day in Kamakura with Eri. I could already tell from the description that she would be the perfect guide for us, and she exceeded our expectations. I was concerned about doing a great deal of walking with my mother, so Eri very quickly made a custom tour of Jomyoji Temple, Hokokuji Temple, Taurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, Komachi-dori shopping and the Great Buddha. She had seamlessly arranged for bus transportation between each site. Eri explains each place with interesting facts and context. She went out of her way to ensure that we were comfortable. We enjoyed meeting her very much. As you can see from her other five star reviews, she is an extreme considerate and well-informed guide.
Dear Anna, Thank you so much for such a wonderful review for me!! I'm very happy to know that the arranged tour was just right for your mother. When we first met at Kamakura station, I was amazed that she was in very good shape and fun to talk with at that. Matcha greentea with chestnut yokan at the tea ceremony house in Jomyoji Temple, refreshing air in the bamboo forest at Hokokuji Temple, and other places we visited are all remembered with her jolly and cheerful talks. And also I was impressed by how you treated her as her loving daughter all the time during the tour. It was great meeting you two and again thank you very much for visiting Kamakura! Best wishes, Eri
Eri is an excellent guide. We were a group of three (family and friends) who had one free day while working in Yokohama. We decided very last minute to book a guide and visit Kamakura. Eri met us at the Kamakura station and spent 5-6 hours with us. She took us to several key sights and had lunch with us. She is very knowledgeable and has a wonderful, kind personality. She helped us understand the historical, cultural, and social context of key sights, as well as everyday places and items. It was a wonderful experience. You will not regret having Eri has your travel guide!
Dear Lori, Thank you very much for the wonderful review! The tour day was such a hot day that we needed a lot of drinks on the way, didn't we? But we were lucky without so much crowd around at each place we visited. At lunch time we enjoyed buckwheat noodles and you chose cold noodles with a little bit of hesitation because that was going to be your first time. But then you enjoyed it with a big smile, which was so impressive and made me happy. In spite of the fierce heat you all were energetic and jolly all the time. Thank you so much for visiting Kamakura and it was really great meeting you all! Best wishes, Eri
We booked 5 hours in Kamakura with Eri. We met at the train station and from start to finish enjoyed her guidance. She took us to three temples, an amazing ancient cemetary, a walk on the beach, a lovely place for lunch, a visit to a swordsmith and a walk through a lively shopping district. She provided abundant information about everywhere we went and was extremely attentive to our interests. We learned a lot and definitely saw more than we would have done on our own. It was also clear that she is well-respected as a local guide and we felt that we were privileged to be with her. If we return to this part of Japan we would absolutely try to have her as a guide again. Thank you, Eri!
Dear Laulie, Thank you so much for such a wonderful review and so quickly at that! I'm so happy that we had a great time in Kamakura on such a beautiful day. We were very lucky to get to climb on the temple gate of Komyoji Temple, which was specially open to public at this time of the year. Not only the great ocean views from up on the balcony, but the recently repaired Buddhist statues which were colorfully painted really surprised and entertained us, didn't they? The amazing Naito family's graveyard and the beach walk with bare feet after that were also a lot of fun. You two were strong walkers and enjoying a considerrably long walk, that made me relieved so much. Seafood and a big omelet for lunch at a local restaurant and beautiful spring peonies at Hase Temple were also among many o... read more
On May 29th of 2019 we (the group of 6 people from Russia and USA) booked the trip to Kamakura with Eri. Our meeting pount was at Kamakura Station. There were a lot of people as usual at the station, but we recognized Eri immediately as she was wearing beatiful kimono and desperately looking to find our group. That was so nice, elegant, unusual that we understood from the start that our tour will be great. Eri was extremely interesting narrator, she told us many interesting facts about Kamakura and Japan in general. She was willing to answer all our questions, even the stupid ones. Eri helped us to organise a very fast traditional luch as this was our requiremet in order to come back to Tokyo in time. Everyone from our group have enjoyed time with Eri and we are very thankful for her for t... read more
Dear Yulia, Thank you so much for such a great review! It was a little chilly on our tour day, however everyone of your group was so cheerful that I felt warm inside from the moment I met you all. It was a lot of fun to help you get green tea at a shop on Komachi-dori shopping street and to explain how to make greentea in the bus on our way to Great Buddha. You were great listners! And we enjoyed this simple, hot buckwheat noodle with only chopped green onion on top, which we ordered because it was the fastest to be served at busy lunch time. And it turned out quite right to save the time. I remember many more fun moments with you during the tour. It was great meeting you all and I hope you are enjoying a nice cup of greentea! Best wishes, Eri
Eri is a fantastic guide! She is kind, knowledgeable, and a great communicator. She was very patient and thoughtful with our 3 year old. The day was like being shown around town by a friend. We really enjoyed taking in Kamakura with Eri and highly recommend her to all!
Dear Tom, Thank you so much for your review! I'm very happy to read it. Walking with a three-year-old kid was a lot of fun. She made everyone around her smile and she learned this Japanese word "kawaii". Yes she was "totemo kawaii", very cute and a good girl during the tour. We leisurely enjoyed our lunch time at a noodle restaurant and got to take a photo with the 24th generation sword smith at Masamune Sword and Blade Workshop. Thank you for visiting Kamakura and it was really great meeting you all! Best wishes, Eri
We are a family of 3 who took a day tour with Eri in Kamakura. She was simply lovely and easy to communicate with. Upon arrival at the station, she was easy to find, impeccably dressed in a lovely kimono. We visited several temples as well as walking through some lovely back streets giving us an intimate view of local life. Her English was terrific and she even had handouts with her as she gave us a detailed history of all the sights. We have taken several tours all over the globe and we all agreed she was one of the best guides we have ever had. Be aware that this is a walking tour. Our Fitbit registered 6.8 miles by foot that day.
Dear Helene, Thank you so much for your review, which was great, and I'm very happy to know that you all enjoyed the tour. The weather was perfect for a walking tour on the day, wasn't it? Although the buds of cherry trees were still stiff, we enjoyed magnolias, Japanese quince and some other seasonal floweres here and there on our way around. I was surprised and happy at a lunch reatautrant, because all of you loved a bowl of soba, buckwheat noodles so much that you finished them with big smiles. I hope this tour will be remembered as a good memory of Japan for you for long. It was really great meeting you all! Best wishes, Eri
We had a great day with Eri in Kamakura. Not only her knowledge was so good. She share it with such a wonderful way and with so much enthusiasm and love for her country. She also was so patient with us when looking at the different shops around letting us understand what we see and what we eat. I highly recommend to Eri as Kamakura tour guide!!
Dear Michael, Thank you so much for your review! Althouth it was only a 3.5-hour tour, we enjoyed a lot of talking while getting around the places, didn't we? You were listening to my explanation very earnestly, even taking a note sometimes, which showed your deep interest in our history and culture. It was such a fruitful time and so great meeting you two! Best wishes, Eri
We had a wonderful day with Eri! She is so well prepared and knowledge able about the area and its history. We had a terrific time-it was just like taking a tour with a good friend. She was extremely easy to understand and communicate with. She is also flexible and willing to make additions or changes as the day progresses. You cannot go wrong if you choose her as your guide.
Dear Sharon, Thank you so much for such a wonderful review! It really was a great day with all of your family. Starting from the visit of Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, we visited Great Buddha in Hase and took the Enoden Line for Enoshima. From the train windows, we witnessed the railroad crossing popular among "manga" lovers from overseas, which was an amazing scene. You all were very patient in waiting for our number to be called at the most popular seafood restaurant on the island, weren't you? And I'm glad it was worth it! I hope each moment of the tour will be a good memory of your stay in Japan for long. It was great meeting you all!! Best regards, Eri
Eri was easy to communicate with right from the start. Quick to respond to any queries I had too. She met us with a bright smile and was very patient with us. She regaled us with the many stories of Shoguns and battles and tragic love. It was a wonderful way to learn of the past and to marvel at the monuments attesting to those tales. Truly a delight to share it with Eri. Thank you
Dear Ai, It's so kind of you to write such a great review! It was a great day for me with you all, too. Especially when we visited Egara Tenjin Shrine, which is a shinto shrine dedicated to the god of learning, your teenage son and daughter were praying sincerely for their progress of school works. I was impressed so much I prayed to the god for them too. Although we sometimes needed an umbrella on the day, it wasn't so bad and the drizzle was rather comfortable, wasn't it? It was great meeting you all and I hope to see you again on your next visit to Japan!! Best regards, Eri
It was a very good trip with a very experienced guide Eri. Even though weather was very hot, she kept on explaining every detail with a great energy. We are a family with two babies and Eri was very understanding and patient about their needs. Since we are Muslims, she arranged us a very nice lunch in a beautiful restaurant. We wish to see some more places soon with Eri, especially “Enoshima Island”. We recommend her to everyone who are looking for a joyful trip. Thank you very much for everything Eri...
Dear Musa, Thank you so much for your review!! That was a great trip inspite of the very hot weather. What I'd been concerned about was almost no problem due to the very good care you and your wife took of your small children. I was very happy to see your son was enjoying running around and watching ants on top of Cape Inamuragasaki, where we had a nice ocean breeze. I'm looking forward to showing you all Enoshima Island next time. It was great meeting you and your family! Best regards, Eri
Eri made our family’s day trip to sublime Kamakura most memorable. She is enthusiastic, charming, flexible, and has excellent English skills. Eri shared with us that she studied history at university, and her command of Japanese history was evident throughout the tour. She explained rituals, filled us in on legends, and pointed out iconic images and design features at the Zen temples and Shinto shrines we visited. Travelling with our teenage son, we were concerned that his attention might wane, but Eri kept us all engaged. Have you ever been inside a giant bronze Buddha? Have you ever seen the 800-year-old workshop of Japan’s greatest sword smith, Masamune? Have you sipped macha in a forest of tall bamboo trees where the silence is broken only by leaves rustling in the breeze? We have Eri... read more
Dear Ted, Thank you so much for your review with many kind words! I'm very happy to read it. The highlight of the tour was the surprise your son got at Masamune Sword and Blade Workshop, wasn't it? It was so lucky for him to have a chance to hold a real sword, which happens only once in a blue moon. I hope he treasures the memory along with other sceans we enjoyed on the day in Kamakura. It was really great meeting you all! Best wishes, Eri
We would highly recommend Eri for everyone who is looking for quality tour.
Dear Oksana, Thank you so much for your review! I myself had a great time with your family. Your suggestion of starting the tour one hour earlier worked very well, didn't it? We could enjoy the quietness of the bamboo grove with matcha green tea leisurely at Hokokuji Temple and didn't have to wait in line at the very popular restaurant to have great lunch. Hydrangeas were beautiful everywhere and there was a nice breeze blowing all through the tour. Again thank you very much for visiting Kamakura and it was great meeting you all!! Best wishes, Eri
We spent the day with Eri visiting the sights in Kamakura. Eri has a delightful personality and a great sense of humor. She is very knowledgeable of Japanese history and culture. She takes the time to describe what you're seeing and the wealth of history in each place you may visit. Eri is very patient and will answer any questions you may have. We also enjoyed a nice lunch with her during the tour. She kept us on schedule and helped us get back to the train station at the end of our tour. Thank you for a great experience!
Dear Richard, Thank you so much for such a wonderful review! And thank you for the nice photos you sent me. Each of the photos gets me back to the great time we shared in Kamakura. With refreshing breeze around us we could enjoy the fresh green when we strolled through the residential areas dropping by those historical places. And your happy smiles during the lunch time made me happy too. It was so great meeting you and your family!! Sincerely, Eri
Eri’s wonderful guided trip around Kamakura was the highlight of out trip to Japan. She was very knowledgeable and explained everything in great detail. Besides the main sites, she took us through interesting neighborhoods and a delicious restaurant for lunch. Most of all, Eri was extremely flexible and helpful with my elderly parents. She was able to make adjustments at the last minute to our walking tour to accommodate my father’s difficulties with walking. Eri’s tour is a must!
Dear Jacqueline, Thank you so much for your review! I'm very happy that you and your family enjoyed Kamakura's walking tour at the best time of spring in Japan. Although I was sorry about your father's difficult condition, I was impressed that he was so thoughtful and kind to his other family and that he was always trying to let the tour keep goin on for them. I really hope his legs and back get better soon. And I hope you visit Kamakura again sometime in the future. It was great meeting you all! Sincerely, Eri
My wife and 13 year old twins spent a truly memorable day in Kamakura and Enoshima Island last week with Eri as our guide and she went above and beyond to make sure we had a visit we'll never forget . To begin, we were very interested in seeing Hokokuji Temple and Eri was extremely flexible in adding it our itinerary without cutting anything out of the tour. In additon, we visited Hachiman Shrine and the shopping district, had a wonderful lunch at a local spot, stood in awe at the Great Buddha, took a short (but interesting) train ride on the Enoshima over to Enoshima Island, and viewed many impressive sights on the Island itself. Along the way, Eri was prepared with volumes of knowledge to educate us and made us feel comfortable every step of the way. At days end, she accompanied us to ou... read more
Dear Matthew, Thank you so much for such an overwhelmingly great review!! I'm so happy and remember again the wonderful day with all of your family. Greentea in the peaceful bamboo garden at Hokokuji, your kids' special request, mental and physical purification at Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, the lunch at the noodle restaurant with a big paper lantern, feeling the warm and cold wall of inside of Great Buddha, the always lively approach to Enoshima Shrine, ice cream with watchful eyes on the hawks at the top of Enoshima Island, the bell promising eternal love, and hot steamed buns from the long standing sweet shop on our way back, etc, etc. I hope you remember every moment of the great time we had in the tour and come visit Japan again. It was so nice meeting you all!! Best wishes, Eri
My wife Sandra and I spent a great day in Kamakura with Eri. She knows Kamakura inside out and she clearly loves it, which was apparent from the way she showed many of its highlights to us. Eri met us at the station dressed in a beautiful kimono which was a delightful touch. The tour designed for us took us to several temples around Kamakura and her explanations of the history and significance of each of these places were interesting and helpful to our understanding. Eri went out of her way to assist us with things that were of interest to us. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in a lovely vegetarian restaurant that Eri especially chose for us so we could experience some of the local cuisine. She is particularly good at putting you at ease and at providing information to match your leve... read more
Dear Andrew, Thank you so much for writing such a great review for my site!! I'm most glad to know how you enjoyed the tour with Sandra. We were very lucky, were'nt we? The weather was perfect and there were a lot to see on our way to places, the red Japanese apricot at Egara Tenjin Shrine, the wintersweets planted here and there in the residential areas, and we could even enjoy winter peonies all in full bloom at Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, not to mention the peaceful bamboo garden and Great Buddha! I hope you'll long remember the day in Kamakura as one of the best memories of your stay in Japan. Sincerely, Eri
My sons (aged 14 and 12) and I decided to visit Kamakura as a short-getaway from our Tokyo trip. As I was travelling with my teenagers, I was looking for someone who could show us around all the shrines and temples (which could otherwise have been boring without any guide). We're very happy to have found Eri. Eri is an excellent guide who knows Kamakura very well. Dressed in a kimono, she has a pleasant personality and a lovely smile which makes her approachable and we felt immediately at ease with her. She was also very accommodating especially to our shopping request and didn't complain at all when our timing ran a little late for the tour. It was indeed a perfect and memorable day for my boys and I in Kamakura. I would highly recommend Eri to be your guide if ever anyone visits Kamakura... read more
Dear Felicia, Thank you so much for such a nice review!! I'm very happy that you enjoyed the half day in Kamakura. All the shopping at places was a lot of fun, wasn't it? You all seemed very happy when you found something you liked. So it was also fun for me to be together with you. Of all things I was impressed about your family was how well-mannered and well-behaved your sons were. They were really young gentlemen until saying good-bye at Kamakura station. It was great meeting you all and I hope to see you again sometime in the future. Kindest regards, Eri
We booked a half day tour with Eri because our flight arrived early in the morning and we could not check in to hotel until 3 pm. We took the wrong train and arrived 15 mins late into Kamakura but Eri was very patient and cheerful. She also helped us store our luggage at a "secret" local place near the station which was full. The tour was very informative and fun and was well worth the time spent. Eri was passionate about her work and enthusiastic in addition to speaking very good English - I would highly recommend her.
Dear Minnie, Thank you very much for visiting Kamakura straight from Haneda airport. You all must have been tired after the flight, but you were all enjoying the five-hour tour, which made me very happy. The highlight was the beautiful view of Mt. Fuji from Inamuragasaki cape, wasn't it? The wind was a bit chilly near the beach, but we could finish the tour in the best way there. It was great meeting you all and I hope you'll visit Kamakura again in the near future! Best regards, Eri
We were met at the Kamakura train station by a beautiful woman dressed in kimono. Eri was informative and entertaining throughout our walking tour of Kamakura. Not only did we see the beautiful shrines and learn of their histories, our tour included walking through the quiet residential streets away from the main stream to these sites. Eri's love for sharing her knowledge and insights was unmistakable as well as the care she provided for us. I highly recommend Eri to everyone.
Dear Carolyn, It was so kind of you to write such a great review! And it was so nice that you could reschedule the tour date due to the typhoon and visit Kamakura. We got a chance to see many small children in colorful kimonos celebrating their seven-five-three festival and an international couple who just tied the knot at Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, which was a lot of fun. Though it was a little early for autumn leaves, we were able to enjoy the cool autumn air while walking in the residential areas. It was great meeting you all and I look forward to seeing you again in Kamakura!! Best regards, Eri
We had a lovely day with Eri! My family (including twin 4 year old boys) took the train (which she helped us with finding the correct train/time) from Tokyo to see the Daibutsu, and with the help and knowledge of Eri, we saw the Big Buddha and so much more! Traveling with kids is so different and she helped make it fun for them and interesting and relevant for us. We first went to the main shrine, Tsurugaoko Hachimangu, where our boys could have been bored. But we fed the birds/fish to change the pace. We also took a detour bc my husband wanted to look at a woodblock store on our way to the next stop. She helped him communicate with the shopkeeper and we ended up with a beautiful piece of art. Seeing the Daibustu itself is pretty amazing, but had she not been with us we would have missed ... read more
Dear Lisa, Thank you so much for your review which covers all the details of the great time with all of your family!! Every sentence makes me remember each scene of the day. How fun it was looking at the boys playing by the pond and on the beach! And I was very happy that your husband got to get a beautiful piece of Hiroshige and that you liked the local dishes at the restaurant. It was so great meeting you all. I hope you'll visit Kamakura again while you are living in Shanghai! Best regards, Eri
We did a walking tour of Kamakura with Eri during our recent cruise around Japan. Eri was so helpful in advance of the tour, giving us exact instructions on how to take the train from the port in Yokohama. The tour was wonderful. Eri met us at the train station. She was wearing a traditional kimono, which was very nice. She gave us so much good information about the various sites. Her English is excellent. We stopped for a great lunch in a noodle restaurant. We highly recommend Eri for a great tour of Kamakura.
Dear Nancy, Thank you so much for your review! The weather on the day, not too hot, not too cold, was perfect for our walking tour, wasn't it? I was very happy to see that you all were enjoying the stroll around the residential area of the ancient city. The bamboo grove and green mosses were beautiful in Hokokuji Temple, and Great Buddha was waiting for us with a gentle smile. It was great meeting you all and thank you for visiting Kamakura!! Sincerely, Eri
My husband, son, and I spent a wonderful day in Kamakura with Eri! The sights that we visited were beautiful and amazing and Eri had great information and stories to share everywhere we went. My son has a culinary background and she arranged a great place for lunch and a stop at a sword master's shop where we picked up a fabulous new kitchen knife. Eri really listened to our interests and created a great day for us!! Thank you, Eri!
Dear Bryn, Thank you so much for such a wonderful review! In spite of so hot and humid weather, John and Griffin, using those towels which they just got at a towel shop on Komachi-dori shopping street, you and me with our sunshades, energetically took a walk around all the places. We enjoyed the amazing performance at the Hayama beef restaurant, numerous small fox statues at Sasuke Inari shrine, the hot wall inside Great Buddha, and so on. And I was very glad that you took an interest in and got a kitchen knife made using the sword making technology with 700-year history. It was great meeting you all!! Best wishes, Eri
We had a wonderful time with Eri. Being a local, Eri was very knowledgeable of the history, culture and legends of Kamakura. She speaks English extremely well and she made sure we were comfortable and did not feel rushed at all. My kids (ages 9 & 13) loved Eri. While we waited for our dishes at the table during lunch, she gave each of us a beautiful packet of origami paper and started showing us how to make ninja stars. Even though our tour passed the 5 hr mark, Eri still made sure we saw everything as per our itinerary and at the end of the tour, waited at the train platform with us until the train arrived and still stayed until the train departed. We highly recommend Eri as a guide. She's fantastic, warm, friendly, funny and a great photographer too! Eri, thank you for showing u... read more

It was great meeting you all, and I hope you'll enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan like we did in Kamakura! Sincerely, Eri
Eri knew how to adopte herself to our small wishes. One of our best guides all over the world Hope to meet her in our next visit.
Dear Avi, Thank you so much for your review! You were a great driver to visit Kamakura and Enoshima Island all the way from Tokyo with Hanna. It was such a beautiful day, and after visiting Great Buddha we enjoyed the great view of Sagami Bay from Enoshima Island, didin't we? I really hope to see you again on your next visit! Sincerely, Eri
Kamakura is magical made even more so with our wonderful guide, Eri! Eri had a wonderful day planned for us which she altered on the fly when my mom's physical limitations needed it. She took us to wonderful shrines and temples and shared with us about each place in great detail. Eri is so knowledgeable!! It was just the three of us all day and spending the day with Eri was like spending the day with a good friend! I asked about Japanese customs and ate cold soba noodles for the first time- delicious! It was such a surprise, wasn't it? I really hope you will come back to Kamakura some time and explore many more nice places with me as your guide again. It was great meeting you two!! Sincerely, Eri
we had a most enjoyable day in kamakura with our guide eri. she was the best guide ever! we learned so much from her, she was so warm, sweet and kind and made us feel so special! the pace of the tour was just right and by the end of the day eri was like a dear friend to us already. definitely the highlight of our japan trip!
Dear Maria, So nice to hear from you again and thank you so much for such a kind review! As we got around places, you asked me a lot of questions and because of that I myself had a great time with you two. It was so nice meeting you and see you again in Kamakura sometime in the future! Best wishes, Eri
The day we (5 English speaking adults from western Canada) spent with Eri was absolutely fantastic, even though the weather was not very cooperative. Eri speaks excellent English which was essential for our party. Our positive experience with Eri took place over several weeks. Eri accommodated us by changing her calendar, provided travel details to and from our accommodations, made lunch reservations at an amazing restaurant (we had special dietary needs), provided interesting historical and cultural details along the tour, and gave each person a keepsake at the end of the tour. If you are looking for a conscientious, kind, and interesting tour guide, Eri is for you.
Dear Karen, It was so kind of you to write such a nice review for my tour! The tour was memorable for me too, because the day was Buddha's birthday, and we could see beautifully decorated alters with baby Buddha in the center in the Buddhist temples we visited, couldn't we? The lunch we had was also great. I was happy you were all enjoying the food talking leisurely. Thank you so much for visiting Kamakura. It was great meeting you all!! Best wishes, Eri
Eri was an amazing guide and so thoughtful. She went above and beyond. Eri was very knowledgeable about local history. She took us to all the great sites (great buddha, shrines, ect.), but also to a few hiking trails. The lunch spot for soba was great. Eri also even wrote down the details of how to take the train to our next destination. Overall, she really stood out as excellent!
Dear Vanessa, It was such a wonderful day with you two in Kamakura. I was very happy you were enjoying everything even the rain as the part of it. I will always remember you whenever I climb Hansobo and see the statues of the goblins. You mentioned they looked like the Flying Monkeys from "the Wizard of Oz" and we all laughed. Thank you so much for visiting Kamakura and for such a nice review. It was great meeting you two!! Best wishes, Eri
Eri has a warm and bubbly personality with a wealth of knowledge about the culture and history of Kamakura. Her tour was very informative but also a lot of fun. My family group included three young adults who can be difficult to please. They all loved Eri and enjoyed the day immensely. We saw all the major shrines and sites but walked through the backstreets to get a better picture of Kamakura. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at a soba noodle restaurant and Eri explained the etiquette of eating with chopsticks. This will come in very useful as we continue our trip in Japan. Eri established contact with me as soon as the tour was booked and planned an itinerary that suited our family group. She took some wonderful photos throughout the day and emailed them to me after the tour. I cannot r... read more
Dear Lynn, I cannot thank you enough for sending such a nice review for my site! The tour culminated when Leia found a little squirrel in a tree just beside the Great Buddha. And we all witnessed a kite suddenly flew down to aim food in one of the passers-by's hand in the crowd of Komachi shopping street, didn't we? They were such wonderful surprises we had all together. I hope you'll enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan as we did in Kamakura. Again, thank you so much! Eri
Kudos to Eri Yusa, our guide, and TripleLights for making our Kamakura tour the best day of our 11 days in Japan. Friends recommended an excursion from Tokyo to Kamakura and we went with that recommendation. We were fortunate, by sheer luck, to find TripleLights and Eri to make our trip so enjoyable and rewarding. Why was it so successful? --The warmth, sense of humor, friendliness and knowledge of Eri; --communication and follow-up from Eri so we could easily take the train from Tokyo to Kamakura and be met at the station by her without any glitches; --selecting the best temples & shrines and other attractions and timing the walking tour so that everything on our agenda was accomplished without hurrying. Crowds were present, but they were easily navigated. --going overtime to accom... read more

We had a great day with Eri in Kamakura. She met us at the train station in the morning and away we went. Eri brought a tremendous amount of knowledge about the history, the architecture and the culture of Japan and Kamakura. We even had discussions about local flowers and plants. We walked back roads and paths that allowed us to have a view of daily life that most tourists don't experience. We gained some wonderful information and perspectives that have made our trip much more enriched. We highly recommend Eri. She brings so much energy and enthusiasm to the day that you feel that you have known each other for years. Our day was awesome. If you want to experience that as well, you need to contact Eri.
Dear Mike, I t was so nice meeting you and Suzanne and getting to show you around Kamakura! It seems like even the rain helped us enjoy walking and talking on the way. Especially the soba we had for lunch will be an unforgettable memory with you two in Kamakura. Thank you so very much!
Eri was an excellent local guide for Kamakura. She provided very good historical and spiritual context for the sites we visited. She is also a warm and engaging person who was very welcoming and I found her good company for the day. As a local, she knew the interesting "backstreet" routes to take so we could enjoy the small town charm of Kamakura as well as the major attractions. Highly recommended!
Dear Anne, Thank you for such a kind review! I'm so happy to know that you enjoyed the tour. The weather was beautiful and all the greenery was shining under the sun, which made our walking tour even more enjoyable. It was great meeting you and I hope you'll visit Kamakura again, next time with your husband!
