We had the most lovely morning with Mayumi. She arrived to meet us at our hotel and immediately helped us to understand where we were and how to get around the city. She took us to a cool observation deck and explained all about the city. Then she gave us a fun and interesting tour around Senso-ji shrine. She helped us plan our trip, answered questions and was really lovely to spend time with. We really enjoyed our time with Mayumi and would recommend her to anyone looking for a friendly, well informed and fun tour guide. Thank you Mayumi!
Mayumi made our introduction to Tokyo a truly memorable one. She helped us to craft a great itinerary, navigate public transport, get our bookings sorted for intercity travel later in our trip and organised some alternative experiences during the day when the weather turned. Mayumi is a very charming and informative guide. Thanks for a great day.
Thank you very much for your swift review, Colin. We had a great day because of your patience in a rainy and windy day as a typhoon was approaching Tokyo. I really appreciate it. It seems that you’ll have consecutive fine days during the rest of your stay in Japan. But please take sufficient precaution against intense heat as it may be too hot and humid for you. I’ll never forget your beautiful smile that made me happy in the tea ceremony experience. I hope your trip to Japan will be filled with beautiful memories. Please give my love to Robyn.
We had a great time touring Tokyo with Mayumi and getting adjusted on our first day. Though it was quite hot and humid, Mayumi planned a great day for us knowing that our itinerary the next day included a cycling tour of the city, so there was no overlap. We saw a number of historical and cultural sites and Mayumi was able to keep us informed of its significance in Japanese history. We got along quite well and if we find ourselves back in Tokyo, I will not hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your good review, Jon. I was worried about your remaining days in Tokyo because it was too hot. But I remember that I felt a little relief as the day you attended the cycling tour was not so hot as I’d expected. I’m sure you had great days in Japan. Now that I know how vigorous your family are, I can suggest several adventures throughout Japan. Please come back to me, and I’ll help you explore the hidden places according to your interests. Looking forward to your reaching out to me again!
Mayumi is an excellent, experienced guide. She helped in planning the itinerary after learning a bit about us, —3 young men traveling with their grandfather. She sensed quickly our pace and what interests we had. Amazing, interactive, excellent English, could not ask for a better guide. She gave us the detail of each place, but only what she knew we would want, not exhaustive and never boring. She carefully picked our lunch site from many she could have chosen, and suggested we eat one evening at the Banya on the 49th floor of a building near our hotel. She also remembered my previous request before the trip for directions the next day after our full, fun, factual and fabulous tour of much of Tokyo.
Thank you so much for posting your kind and fabulous review amid your long journey. It was a great nine-hour tour. I’m impressed at how vigorously you all could walk all the way during the tour. I can imagine you are enjoying each spot on your cruise now. How was the festival you were looking forward to attending? That must have been exciting. I’m reading the book you wrote everyday on my way to pick up my guest on a train. Mysteriously enough, I feel that my mind gets peaceful thanks to your words. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to pause and take a closer look at myself. I do want to see you again. To dive with your grandsons is also added to my dream list. Thank you again and say hello to them.
Mayumi was a knowledgeble and friendly tour guide. I went on two half day tours. The first day, she took me around to see the a Budahhist temple, Tsukiji Fish Market, Hama-rikyu Gardens (with a DIY tea ceremony experience), then Odaiba to have a delicious Japanese lunch in a restaurant overlooking Tokyo Bay. The next day, we saw "old Japan", east side. We went to Asakusa and saw the famous Sensoji Temple, did some shopping along the shops leading to the entrance, then visited a local store with Japanese goods. Afterwards, we visited a fun plastic food store, "Replica Foods " in the kitchenware district. This was follwed by a delicious lunch of okonomiyaki & hiroshimayaki. Mayumi took great care of creating a great itinerary for me to see much of what Tokyo has to offer.
Thank you so much for your detailed and wonderful review, Nicole. They were great two day tours in spite of the intense heat. I can’t believe our tour was over all too soon. I realized that time flies like an arrow when I’m having a good time. I still have a lot of things I’d like to show you in and outside Tokyo. I’m looking forward to our next adventure. See you again.
