Thank you so much Mayumi we had the most amazing 3 days. You organised everything for us when we arrived pasmo, exchanging jr passes, booking Shinkansen nothing was too much trouble. The days you planned were a perfect mix of keeping parents and 2 children very happy and engaged. So many hi-lights I wouldn’t know where to start however recommend everyone eat the tuna wow just wow! Thank you for all the photos they are so great. You are an amazing guide and when we come back we will definitely be seeing you again.
THANK YOU so much for your super express review, Kristy. You are a great mother who makes everything organized and makes everyone happy. I'm just impressed how you are trying to accommodate to Japanese culture when you are on the train and when you get trash. I'm sure your kids will be nice citizens of the world! Another thing that surprised me was the ninja skills of your family. The ninja master was also surprised whispering, "It's next to impossible to handle shuriken like them." Yes, I thought one of your ancestors must have a ninja!! And I really enjoyed learning about your wild life. I didn't know there's such dangerous places in Sydney! I do want to see you again in Australia or Japan. I already miss your kids!! Please say hi to them.
I enjoyed a wonderful day with Mayumi visiting multiple temples and shrines around Kamakura. Despite the detailed itinerary, nothing was rushed and the day proceeded at a leisurely pace. Mayumi is warm and engaging and has an illuminating knowledge of Japanese history and culture.
Thank you for writing such a great review, Mark. I'm so impressed by your deep knowledge about Japanese culture and religious custom. I guess you learned the unique sense of balance of Japanese people while visiting the Seven Lucky Gods in Kamakura. Actually, more than 3 million people payed the first visit to Meiji-jingu Shrine, and almost the same number of people visited Narita-san-Shinshoji Temple during the New Year Days. Both Shinto and Buddhism have taken root so deeply in our daily lives since the ancient period that people are not conscious of religious sect, I guess. Of course I visited my local temple to pray for health and happiness of my family and friends. I'm looking forward to the next opportunity to visit other interesting shrines and temples with you. Thank you again fo... read more
MAYUMI is well suited to this line of work and has a fabulous personality and excellent English speaking skills. She showed us things we would have missed on our own, and even got our rail tickets for the remainder of our trip! I particularly enjoyed Ginza and the fish market, and wish we had more days in which we could explore Tokyo with Mayumi.
Hi Carolyn, thank you for sparing time to write a great review for me though you are still busy traveling around Japan. I can imagine you are enjoying each spots. I'd like to hear the story of this trip someday. I've just been to Kyoto and made it home yesterday. Now it'd be your turn to visit Kyoto, I guess. Enjoy the traditional attractions of the city! Do not come back to Japan without letting me know, please. I have more places to show you and more foods to introduce you both inside and outside Tokyo. I'm looking forward to the next opportunity.
Our family of 5 included grandmother and teenagers. We had an excellent two day tour with Mayumi. She was very flexible on meeting time, arrived ahead of time each morning. She listened to my teenagers and took them to places they are interested in - pointing out along the way cat cafes, foodie spots and teen fashions. She was very personable and connected very well with all of us. She paced the tour very well and catered to all ages in my group. I am most impressed she kept my two teenagers engaged throughout the tour. She took us to local spots for lunch and it was one of the best value, best sushi we had. She is a true gem.
We had a great day with Mayumi--she customized a day for us based on the sights I told her I wanted to see. She is very knowledgeable about the history of Japan and her English is excellent as she has lived abroad. I would definitely recommend her.
Thank you for posting a great review, Lee. I'm happy you enjoyed the tour with me. Because your son is full of intellectual curiosity, I really enjoyed talking with him. Please come back to Japan someday again as there are lots of places I'd like to show you to help you appreciate the deep attractions of our culture. Please say hi to Jake. See you again!
