Learned so much in 2 days. Mayumi was very knowlegeable and fun to be with. She made it very comfortable and less intimidating to take the train. Didn't know that Metro and subway are different and have to get different tickets. IC card can be uses for both. I highly recommend Mayumi. Thank you so much.
Leila, Thank you so much for your great review. I already miss you all so much. We had ridiculously different weathers in the two days. We did Tokyo tour in a cold rainy day and Hokone tour in a perfectly beautiful day. Even in the bad weather, we laughed and laughed thanks to your family's brightness and humor. I learned that laughing warmed up not only our mind but also body itself. I'll never forget your sisters. And yesterday was perfect! Mt Fuji was just amazing!! Though there are lots of tourists in Hakone on Sunday, we could enjoy tranquil nature and peaceful lunch. But it was interesting to see so many people coming to the restaurant when we finished eating. I have to admit that you have a secret power to attract people... Anyway, I can imagine that you are enjoying your stay in T... read more
We are a family of 4 ages 26 to 64.I am not in the best shape with bad knee's but she did a real good job slowing and adapting the planned itinerary. It was pouring rain that day so very challenging but it went good. How a tourist could manage the subway and trains on their own is next to impossible and alot of time wasted.
Thank you so much for the kind review, Susan. Although it was the coldest day with rain in his autumn in Tokyo, I was really happy to be with your family. I was worried about your knee condition during the tour, but you were doing very well and your thoughtfulness made everyone smile. I really appreciate it. I also enjoyed talking with Michael and Cathy. Hope you'll come back to Japan in spring next time. Looking forward to the reunion in the future!
We contacted Mayumi with a long list of requests for our half-day tour: could she show us the Shitamachi area of Tokyo, while accommodating my photography hobby + very slow walking speed, plus drop us off at a specific vegetarian restaurant at the end? She made all of our requests happen, plus still managed to show us Nezu-jinja Shrine AND help us activate our JR Rail Passes and purchase multiple sets of train tickets along the way. She was charming, warm, and knowledgeable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with her. Wish we had booked her for another day!
Cynthia, Thank you for writing such a great review. The day we explored the Shitamachi area was quite a beautiful day. We saw a lot of interesting things in the limited time. It was the first time for me to eat the cat shaped yummy doughnut in Yanaka-ginza. Thank you for getting it for me. I'm sure you fully enjoyed your stay in Japan. I still have many things and hidden spots to show you in and outside Tokyo. I'm looking for the next opportunity to see you again! Thank you again for everything.
Mayumi was very communicative and thorough and did a great job!
Thank you for your great review, Zac. We had a great day visiting some shops that handle Japanese brands. The beautiful ladies from New York were very much interested in fashion. They wanted to see shops which they don't see in NY. It was my pleasure to show them rather new brand by young designers. Thank you again for giving the opportunity to help your clients find things they'd like. We really enjoyed it! I'm looking forward to the next chance.
If you want to learn about Japanese history and present time Mayumi is the right choice. We asked her many questions about traditions and rules..we learned a lot about history of this great country. But be ready to walk fast and follow her closely 😉..
Thank you for posting a good and kind review, Julia. The tree days I spent with your group was quite a great experience. Beautiful days in Tokyo, Kamakura, and Nikko. I wanted to show you as much as possible, but It seems that I should have make it more slowly. I'm always trying to accommodate to my guests' pace but it was not enough this time, I guess.. Your comment reminds me of what's the most important for me. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to rethink about that. I'll keep it in mind and keep trying to improve my tour. Please say hello to everyone!
