Hello! I am Seiko, National Licensed Guide since 2007.
I was born and grew up in Kurashiki (Okayama pref.) until high school, spent my college days in Kyoto, and currently living in Osaka.
I studied Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of Wisconsin, as well.
I myself am a traveler for life, been to more than 30 countries and all the prefectures in Japan and always excited to help travel planning for my friends/clients coming to Japan. I am also a hiker, kayaker, scuba diver, and snowboarder enjoying myself mostly outdoors in every season.
I would especially love to show you things that are rarely found in your guidebook or difficult to do as tourists from other countries as well as the beauty of the nature and rural areas in Japan.
Besides city tours in Osaka and Kyoto, my tours can stretch to introducing local foods, bar-hopping, sake/beer breweries, visiting secret local spots, excursions to enjoy the nature such as walking/hiking tours, onsen day-out, and more!
Let's have a fun time and unique experience with me!

Seiko was especially friendly and heartwarming and we enjoyed spending time with her in Kyoto. She explained everything we asked her and was very knowledgeable about Japan’s history, culture and customs. We can definitely recommend her as an excellent guide.
Seiko is an excellent tour guide who showed us the amazing sights in Kyoto. She carefully planned out our day taking into consideration our needs and requests. We enjoyed a fantastic mini-kaiseki lunch in the most beautiful part of Kyoto. Seiko speaks excellent English and is extremely knowledgeable. We will be recommending her to our friends and family.
From start to finish Seiko was terrific to work with. Several emails back and forth and a custom tour of the beautiful city of Nara with Seiko was created. She picked us up from our cruise ship port. We began by her teaching us how to use the train system, from buying tickets to learning the lines and where to go. We then took several trains to Nara from Kobe. Once we arrived she took us all around the shrine and temple of Nara. It was truly beautiful. The free roaming sacred deer was our reason for going to Nara but the 1,000’s of lanterns and amazing shrine and beautiful temple and it’s history we learned was the ultimate reason for this destination. Seiko was full of information and was able to be flexible with our shopping and eating demands. Afterward we went to Osaka and she even to... read more
This was our first trip to Japan and we chose Seiko to introduce us to Kyoto in our very first day. She was the PERFECT tour guide: calm, flexible, thorough, knowledgeable, and fun. We visited some of the main attractions in one day and she even taught us how to use the public transportation by ourselves. Overall, an extremely good experience.
Thank you for your kind comment, Marcio. I had a PERFECT day with you all!! Thank you for asking me lots of interesting questions as well. I enjoyed not just showing the sites, our culture and food etc. but also hearing about your connections to Japan and Japanese culture before you actually visited here. I wish I could have taught your sons more Japanese words, but hope at least "Sumimasen" was useful :) Thanks again!!!! Seiko
Seiko was wonderful! She worked to adjust our itinerary at the last minute due to the excessive heat/humidity in Kyoto/Uji. We walked through Uji (learned how to make matcha), visited Byodo-In Temple and Fushimi-Inari in Kyoto. She made the most of our time with how efficient she planned everything. If you enjoy hearing interesting facts about the various places you visit I would highly recommend Seiko! You will not be disappointed!
Thank you Gary for the positive and thoughtful review. One of the things I care most for planning a tour is efficiency to maximize the limited time together, so I am very glad to hear your comment about it! I hope you had a great time despite the heat in Kyoto (& glad you barely missed the typhoon!) and are now enjoying the maccha from Uji at home! Seiko
