Since 2007 I have been an English-speaking tour guide, visiting most of the major sightseeing spots in Japan with international travelers. At the same time I have been working as an translator, mainly dealing with technical documents.
Shizuoka prefecture has a number of spots for sightseeing, but they have not been fully covered in English-language travel books or on the Internet. So, as a local tour guide, through the TripleLights services, I am hoping to introduce some of the attractiveness of this region to the international visitors.

Koji explained the history and highlights of the shrine and the pine forest with the exceptional view of Mt Fuji. The couple we weee with could not climb to some of the sights so Koji explained the significance which painted a picture of the sight for them
We were meet at the pier by Koji. Easy to find and on time. We had booked a day tour online. Very easy to get in contact whit Koji and fast reply. We went to the waterfalls, it is beautiful. Koji was informing underway and talked about the sights we visited. Great stop at a sake brewery and the best, a stop at a the farm. It was a great day and we would book Koji again if we have the opportunity.
Koji-san was most professional with full knowledge of the sites we visited. He was very well prepared. Our group of 8 was happy and satisfied. Would recommend his services. Mahalo nut loa...
I had booked this 4 hour tour for when our ship docked in Shimizu for the day. Koji was waiting for us when we disembarked. We had a marvellous day visiting Kunozan Toshogu Shrine, Mt Fuji Observatory, a green tea plantation and Miho Pine Grove. One of our group was 90 yrs old and Koji was very considerate of her needs. His English was excellent. At the end of our tour he offered good recommendations for what we could do/ see for the remainder of our time in Shimizu. He was a great guide and we were extremely happy with his tour for the day.
If you are visiting Shimizu and want to book a private tour, this is the one for you. Koji is a very professional guide with good knowledge of the local area. He speaks English quite well. He met us at the cruise ship pier. We visited all of the sights on the itinerary, spending the amount of time we wanted. Some very unique experiences---Mt Fugi viewing, pine grove forest/beach, tea tasting fresh from tea field, cable car ride and famous shrine visit, plus cherry blossom viewing. What could be better.
