About

=== Guide & Taxi Driver ===
Hello!
My name is Hiroshi.

Do you need a taxi and a tour guide?
I am a “Licensed Guide & Interpreter” and also a “Licensed Taxi Driver”.

I was born and raised in Osaka and graduated from the university in Kobe. Now I live in Rakusai district which is located in the west part of Kyoto city. It is near Arashiyama district famous for its beautiful bamboo forest.
I taught English, Japanese and social studies at a private-tutoring school in Osaka for 14 years.
I started to work as a taxi driver in 2006. Since then, I have worked as a licensed taxi driver and a tour guide in Kyoto.
I have guided Japanese tourists far more than a hundred times.
And I started to work as a National Licensed Guide & Interpreter in 2016.
Since then, I have guided foreign tourists as an English-speaking tour guide more than 50 times.

I worked for a taxi company for about 13 years, but I became independent in November last year(2019). And now, I am a self employed tour guide & taxi driver.
Becoming independent gives me a lot of flexibility, because I have my own car which I can use anytime I need to.
My car is Toyota SIENTA (compact MPV). Four to five medium-size suitcases are containable if the number of the passengers is 4 or less than 4.

I have no history of car accident.
I passed the EIKEN (test in Practical English Proficiency) Grade 1 in 2007.
I passed the Kyoto Kentei (test in Knowledge of Sightseeing and Culture of Kyoto) Grade 2 in 2013.
I got a National License of Guide & Interpreter (English) in 2016.

=== Merits of my private taxi tour ===
*Safe, comfortable and reasonable
I haven’t had a traffic accident since I started to work as a taxi driver in 2006.
As a licensed taxi driver, the drive is safe, smooth and comfortable. So you can just sit relaxed, enjoy talking and looking at the view from my taxi while we are moving from one place to another.
My ‘Private Taxi Tour’ is very reasonable, because taxi fare and guide fee are all in one price.

*You can make your original itinerary
You are free to make your own itinerary.
If you have specific sightseeing spots you are planning to visit, please let me arrange them to make your own best itinerary. If you don’t have any ideas where to visit, I am very happy to help you make the best plan that suits you.

*You can travel efficiently and smoothly
As an experienced taxi driver, I can take you anywhere in the most efficient way. That is because I know all the streets and traffic conditions.
During the tour, if time permits, I drive through as many interesting and beautiful places as possible on our way to the next destination. By using a taxi, you can visit and enjoy far more places than you can by using trains and buses, or on foot.
Although there are a lot of narrow streets in Kyoto, it is possible to drive around the residential, downtown, rural and traditional townhouse areas by my taxi, which buses cannot.

In this way, my taxi tour can enable you to make the most of your precious time in Japan.
Please make good use of my taxi tour and make your stay in Japan enjoyable and meaningful!

“ Do not hestitiate to book a prviate taxi tour with Hiroshi! ”

My partner and I booked a private tour with Hiroshi to see the following sites; Kinkaku-ji Temple, Ryoan-ji Temple, Tenryu-ji Temple, Bamboo forest of Arashiyama, Otagi Nenbutsu-ji Temple and Shimogamo-Jinja Shrine. I have only good things to say about Hiroshi and the tour. His knowledge and insight of the temples and shrines provided an extra dimension to what we saw that was invaluable. He was professional, very personable and friendly. Close to the end of the tour, I asked Hiroshi what his favorite temples were. Based on his response, we opted to not visit Shimogamo-Jinja Shrine and opted to view Ginkaku-ji Temple. We were not disappointed. Arigato gozaimasu Hiroshi for that wonderful, once in a life-time, memorable experience!

Hiroshi:

Dear Michael San and Gordon San, Hello. I certainly appreciate your thoughtful message you gave me! It‘s my great pleasure to enjoy the tour with you. Many thanks. Arigato gozai-masita. Best regards, Hiroshi

“ Fantastic day ”

Hiroshi was great. He was so knowledgeable and organized our trip so well. He came very prepared with umbrellas which were only needed once. His knowledge on the various temples and shrines really were appreciated and even some other tourists commented on how it really enhanced their visit as well. He also adapted well to our request to go see plum blossoms in bloom at one of the shrines called Kitano Tenmangu. I highly recommend him. Steven

Hiroshi:

Dear Steven San and Yolanda San, Thank you very much for giving me a happy time with you. And I sincerely appreciate your thoughtful message you sent to me! I am very happy to know that you liked my tour. Please take good care of yourselves and see you again. Best regards, Hiroshi
