Hi! I am a Kyoto local and love to visit temples, shrines and gardens. Although a middle school by grade, I have spent a couple of years providing guided tours of Kyoto, Nara and Osaka to small groups.
Depending on your interests, I’ll provide many different types of tours such as cycling tours, tea ceremony experiences, cooking, tours of Nishiki market and Gion, visiting Sake brewery for tasting as well as sightseeing spots. Night tours to stroll Gion and Pontocho where Geiko(Geisha) live? Of course!
Looking forward to being your guide.

Chika was a delight. She was punctual efficient and prepared with visual aids. She was able to alter our schedule as needed to accommodate our needs (we had to stop to buy some comfortable walking shoes). She provided us with a vocabulary sheet for rudimentary Japanese expressions.
Hi, Patrick Thank you so much for sending me warm comments. I’m so delighted to hear that. I hope you have a pleasant journey! On the rabbit island I mentioned, Tadanoumi is the name of the port. The rabbit island is “ Okuno-jima” or “Okuno Island” in Hiroshima. You should prepare rabbit feed on your own and take a ferry from Tadanoumi to the island. ( It’s better to arrive earlier, it’s crowded ) Bring your own lunch and enjoy them near the sea would be fun! If possible, You can rent bikes at only one hotel at the island. https://www.tokyocreative.com/articles/19245-bunnies-bikes-and-beaches-why-you-should-consider-okunoshima-for-your-next-island-getaway Speaking of cat island, I recommend “ “Aoshima”, but it’s too far from Kyoto. Anyway, if you’re willing to tr... read more
Thank you Chika for a wonderful tour. We saw so much of Osaka and Kyoto at a perfect pace for my six year old daughter, despite the heat.
Hi, Sasha! Thank you for your warm comment. You two tried to survive the heat, always looked so happy, which impressed me.. In addition, Grace is adorable and you’re a good mum. Hope to see you some day in Japan!
My family and I visited Kyoto in July and had a wonderful day with Chikako. I asked her to give us both an "orientation" to Kyoto Tour but also to include a few special stops along the way considering we had our 4 year old daughter Kirana along. Chikako was intelligent, casual, organized, fun, and thoughtful. She showed us the highlights of this fascinating and beautiful City (Temples, Gion, Zen Gardents, etc) while also sampling some great food from the market and an amazing tea tasting experience. Just the right combination of organization and spontaneity. My kids loved her sweet style and I appreciated her knowledge. In addition to being a Tour guide she is also a Middle School Teacher and it showed! My only regret was not booking her for the whole week! Matthew from Bali
I really appreciate your warm comments! I was so impressed by your great review.. My husband and I ( also my friend ) will definitely go to Bali in the near future and maybe we’ll share a great time! Please keep in touch and come back to Japan in November. See you around Chika
This was my family's first experience with a private tour guide and Chika made our so much fun! In addition to being very thoughtful about our agenda, she made sure to send us a photo of the the location in the train station where she was meeting us. It's little details like that that she continued all day to ensure we got the most our of our trip. She knew the area very well and took us everywhere we wanted to see, and we managed to have a nice sit-down lunch with air conditioning. We had a couple of specific requests for shopping and not only did she take us where we wanted to go, she helped us navigate and wrote on maps exactly what we wanted to do once the tour was over. She made our day so lovely and our experience in Kyoto one we'll never forget.
Dear Ambre I was so touched that you kindly gave me wonderful comments and you and your family were happy during the tour. Your family always made me fun and it motivated me! Thank you for everything and it’ll be unforgettable memory for me. Love Chika
We booked Chika for an evening walking tour in the Gion. She was very knowledgeable and prepared. She was also patient as my 9-year old son who gets bored easily. Chika made reservations for us at a restaurant that met my request - not too expensive with both sushi and other options for kids. We were staying at a private rental home that is difficult to locate so when Chika dropped us off, she drew a map for the restaurant staff and they helped us to get a taxi that would know how to get back. We had already booked another guide for the following day or we would have asked for the following day as well.
Hi, Melissa Good morning. Thank you for writing me a warm comment! It will motivate me for the next tour. I’m glad to hear that you are satisfied with the tour. Today you’re going to the monkey park and Fushimi Inari shrine, I hope your lovely kinds will like them. Have a nice day Chika
