I was born and raised in Kamakura. I have spent most of my life in Japan except 2 years in the U.S.
I am a certified national tour guide living in Kamakura.
There are many temples and shrines in Kamakura. Asakusa has a world-famous Senso-ji temple with Thunder Gate. They are not only the holly places where people come to worship but the historic sites where visitors can touch and feel the Japanese cultures and traditions.
I am very happy to share my knowledge with the foreign visitors who want to know about Japan.
Visiting the old historic places is the gateway to understand Japan.
Asakusa is in the downtown Tokyo. Kamakura is one hour from Tokyo station by JR train.
So why not come and join my tour. I am waiting for your reservation.

Tak could not have packed more information and sights into our day. He provides answers to every question and interjects much into the history of the Kamakura area. He is extremely personal and very energetic but carefully watched to make sure the pace he was setting was the correct one. He provided detailed information on the transportation from our hotel in Tokyo to the meeting place in Kita-Kamakura.
Hi Larry Thank you very much for the highest evaluation of my tour. All of you know or have surveyed our history and culture beforehand. You have a sincere desire to know many things in Japan. I had a very good time to show the sightseeing spots while answering and talking about a variety of topics. I would like to be of service to you when you're coming to Japan next time. Please keep in touch. Best regards, Tak
Our guide Tak kept in close touch with us as we arrived Yokohama the day before typhoon trami was coming north into our area. On our tour day he met us at the Sheraton hotel Yokohama brought us by train first to Hase to see Hasedera temple and the Great Buddha then to Kamakura to walk the Dankazura footway to the Hachimangu shrine then to Engakuji zen shrine in kitakamakura where we stopped for macha green tea. He explained everything in very good English and was very personable and engaging. I highly recommend him!
Dear Elizabeth Thank you very much for your highest evaluation and encouraging message. I was impressed by your knowledge about Japan and I am glad to know that you have enjoyed the tour to the full. I think I could introduce you the Japanese culture and tradition through my tour. When you have a chance to come back again, I am willing to be of service to you and your wonderful husband, Thomas. Best regards, Takayasu
I would book another tour with Takayasu anytime! He was friendly, informative and very knowledgeable!!
Takayasu is a wonderful guide: very knowledgeable, attentive, patient and intelligent. We learned a lot about the temples that we visited and about Shogun ate period. We spent almost 10 hours together and it was very enjoyable. I wish we could make another trip with Takayasu, but we are leaving for Kyoto. But definitely next time will book more trips with him
Thank you very much for your highest praise on my Kamakura tour guide. I enjoyed the conversation and questions you and your friend raised. You are the wonderful guests, too. Yes, I would very much like to be of service to you in your next trip. I hope through my tour guide more and more foreign visitors know Japan and love my country. Takayasu
He knows a lot about Kamakura and told us many interesting things such as histories, recent stories and so on. His English is very fluent. Most impressive point about him was his flexibility. He always put us first and tried to meet our requests. Thanks Tak.
Hello Shuichi san, Thank you very much for your highest praise on my Kamakura guide. All of you had hands-on experience of purifying themselves at the water basin, offeing prayer, drinking 'Maccha' and etc. Although we spent a very short time together, I found your Romania friends were very positive to know Japanese history, culture, tradition and cutoms. You are great tourists. I would like to serve you in another occasion. Thank you. Tak
