“ Delightful, off the beaten path day in Tokyo ”

It was our third visit of Tokyo, having seen most of the tourist attractions that were recommenced by friends, TripAdvisor and various Japan travel guides during our past two stays. So we retained the service of a private guide this time, to take us off the beaten path a bit, and were glad that we did. We visited Asakusa and did the usual tourists’ sighting and shopping in this popular venue, then visited Ryogoku (the sumo stadium) and even had the traditional sumo wrestler meal for lunch. Next, we headed to the Edo Museum (where Masa gave us a far better explanation of what we saw than any robotic recorded guide that we could have rented would). To really step off the beaten path, we visted the Yanaka Village last, where we learned even more new things about the Japanese culture from Ma... read more

Dear Donald-san, Thank you for your nice review and very encouraging message. It was my great pleasure sharing your valuable time together in touring around characteristic spots in Tokyo. I am just grateful if you enjoyed learning various aspects of authentic history and traditional culture in off the beaten path places, as well as main tourists venues. I also enjoyed myself learning a lot from you through our conversation about many things in USA. Looking forward to seeing you again in the near future. Thank you very much again and wishing you all the best! Masaharu

“ Wonderful day in Nikko ”

I booked a one day tour with Masaharu to Nikko. Masaharu was very responsive from the first moment, gave me a full description of what we can and can't do, and even bought tickets for the train in advance (to save us waiting time in the morning). During our trip I leaned a lot about the History of the place and about the events associated with the place. We walked around a lot and Masaharu was always so knowledgeable and patient. I enjoyed my day very much and can't wait to book another trip with Masaharu.

Dear Dafna, Thank you very much for your nice and encouraging review. It was my great pleasure sharing your valuable time together around Nikko, covering World Heritage area and Kanmangafuchi Abyss. Looking forward to seeing your again in the near future. Thank you again and wishing you all the best! Masaharu

“ Tokyo Immersion ”

Masa did a great job. We chose the walking/public transportation tour of the Imperial Palace and the Asakusa Buddhist Temple and neighboring Shinto temple. Masa met us at rour hotel and brought us back. No question went unanswered. We gained great insight into Japanese culture, the Tokyo subway system (an intricate, spotless, efficient people mover) and Japanese history which we learned while riding the subway or walking to the sites. A great use of time. Masas' English is excellent. He is also a world wide traveler and former executive with Nippon Express who spent his career on the road. So, he can relate and compare worldwide cultures with the Japanese culture. We learned so much! Thank you Masaharu. We will not forget you nor our new found appreciation of the Japan... read more

“ Tokyo Highlights and Day Trip to Hakone ”

We spent two days with Masaharu. The first day was the Tokyo Highlight tour. We went to Tsukiji fish market, Asakusa, the Edo museum and Shibuya. We had seven in our group, including our 3 children (ages 5, 8, 10) and my parents. Masa did a great job navigating us around using public transportation, and was flexible with us as we altered our plans slightly based on everyone's interests. We had a delicious lunch near Asakusa and also grazed on some of the offerings from the fish market. We had arrived the evening before from Detroit, so we were all a bit jet lagged. The tour was a good introduction to Tokyo and getting around on public transportation. There was a lot of walking involved and changing trains to get to all the sights. The second day we took a day trip to Hakone. Ma... read more

“ Masaharu San, the BEST Guide Ever!!! ”

Masaharu San, is an excellent guide!!! He was always on time, In our situation it was much more time consuming and difficulty, in that my husband could not walk and always in pain. He made sure that he was comfortable in the van with the driver while we went out and did the walking tours. He is patient and always asked our opinion on what he had plan for the day and if it was OK with us. Masa made all the train and transfer reservations without me having to go through the trouble. He knew through my e-mails that riding the shinkansen was important and he made our dreams come through, what an experience!!! All tours were arranged perfect! We could not have been more satisfied with the tours we did, Masa made the right decisions on all the tours. He is educated on the culture the food... read more
