Hello, My name is Masaharu.
I am the National Licenced Tour Guide and Interpreter in English.
I used to stay in London, UK for 14 years on business.
This valuable experience gave me great passion for talking to many people with entirely different culture and historical background.
Therefore, it is my great pleasure to show foreign tourists from all over the world exciting tour spots by featuring traditional as well as modern faces of Japan.
Let's share together history, culture, natural beauty and seasonal delicacy of Japanese food.
See you in Japan soon!

We spent two days with Masaharu. The first day was the Tokyo Highlight tour. We went to Tsukiji fish market, Asakusa, the Edo museum and Shibuya. We had seven in our group, including our 3 children (ages 5, 8, 10) and my parents. Masa did a great job navigating us around using public transportation, and was flexible with us as we altered our plans slightly based on everyone's interests. We had a delicious lunch near Asakusa and also grazed on some of the offerings from the fish market. We had arrived the evening before from Detroit, so we were all a bit jet lagged. The tour was a good introduction to Tokyo and getting around on public transportation. There was a lot of walking involved and changing trains to get to all the sights. The second day we took a day trip to Hakone. Masa arranged all of the train, cable car and ropeway tickets for this about a month ahead of time, which was very helpful. We had reserved seating on the romance train that went from Shinjuku to Hakone (about 90 minute ride) Then we took a mountain train that required 3 switchbacks, then a cable car, and then a rope way. At the top of Mt Hakone, you could see the sulfur springs and we even got a clear view of Mt Fuji, which is unusual this time of year (no snow on the top since it was July). There are a few places at the top selling snacks and black eggs (normal eggs, hardboiled in the sulfuric water, which turns them black). We then took another rope way down the back side of the mountain, and then a pirate ship across the lake. We had lunch at a restaurant on the other side, overlooking the lake, and then a bus back to the Hakone train station to take the romance car back. We arrived back at Shinjuku around 6pm. We did this trip on a Friday, and the mountain train and cable car were very packed, standing room only. I would imagine it would be even more crowded on a weekend. It was nice to get out of Tokyo for the day and enjoy a bit cooler weather. My kids loved experiencing all of the different types of transportation. Masa was very friendly and patient with us, and we felt like we were friends with him by the second day. We enjoyed eating meals with him and learning more about life in Japan. His English is good, although we had a little difficulty understanding certain words at first, but we figured it out the more time we spent with him. Thank you Masa, Arigato!
Dear Andrea, Thank you very much for your nice and encouraging review! I am pleased to know that you and your family really enjoyed two day tour around Tokyo and Hakone. It was my great pleasure joining your family and sharing your valuable time together. I am looking forward to seeing you again in the near future. Thank you and Arigato! Masaharu
Masaharu San, is an excellent guide!!! He was always on time, In our situation it was much more time consuming and difficulty, in that my husband could not walk and always in pain. He made sure that he was comfortable in the van with the driver while we went out and did the walking tours. He is patient and always asked our opinion on what he had plan for the day and if it was OK with us. Masa made all the train and transfer reservations without me having to go through the trouble. He knew through my e-mails that riding the shinkansen was important and he made our dreams come through, what an experience!!! All tours were arranged perfect! We could not have been more satisfied with the tours we did, Masa made the right decisions on all the tours. He is educated on the culture the foods in the local areas, the edo period time, very educated and interesting on the background of this period and how it evolved to todays present japan. The shrines and Temples as I know the difference between both now is because of Masa's great lessons to me. Lunch was the high light of the day, Masa made sure and asked what foods we wanted to eat although he already had plans and reservations made, OH how I loved all the places he took us for lunch!!! It was a bitter sweet when we had to say good bye, I told Masa, "I have to cut the umbilical cord now!" We felt safe and taken cared of by Masaharu San for all of the 4 days of 8-9 hours a day. Masa really took excellent care of us. We have made a true forever friend in Japan. I hope Masa can come to Hawaii one day and I can return the same favor, although I do not think I can be as excellent as he is. Thank you for sharing Masa with us, the choice was the right one!!! If there is a promotion for Masaharu San, he is well deserving of that, perhaps the tour guide of the Month!!! Thank you so much Masa for making our dreams come true. Arigato Gozaiomas. Ed and Yvonne Wong from Hilo, Hawaii
Dear Yvonne-san, Thank you very much for your warm and heart felt message to me. It was my great pleasure sharing your valuable time together around Tokyo, Hakone and Nikko. I am very happy to know that you really enjoyed each visit and various, seasonal Japanese cuisine. I also enjoyed learning a lot from you about wonderful life in Hawaii. I would like to visit your country some day. Now, I strongly hope that Ed will get better soon and able to walk around again. Looking forward to seeing you in the near future. Thanking you again and wishing you all the best! Masaharu
Very knowledgeable and extremely flexible. We had a really great time and learned a great deal about Japanese culture and landmark sites in Tokyo.

I don't have enough positive things to say about Masa. He was knowledgeable, speaks perfect English, is very worldly, interesting, gracious and had a great sense of humor! Not only did we learn a lot from him but we had a ton of fun. In addition to taking us to see the amazing sights of Tokyo, he took us to delicious restaurants during lunch so that we could experience the food as well. We highly recommend booking as many days as possible with him!
