Thank you for visiting my profile page!
My name is Aimu and I am a happy Japanese young lady who fell in love with Danish "hygge(coziness)". I offer personalized guided walking tour in Kansai area. I will help you have an amazing time in Japan before and during your stay. I am your tour guide, but hope to be your friend. Ask me anything about your trip to Japan, not only about the guided tour.
"When in Rome, do as the Romans do"
This is what I believe is the best way to enjoy traveling while being welcomed by the locals at the same time. I hope to be a great cultural mediator and offer a special time in this beautiful country. Do not make your trip a regular fun holiday. Make it an opportunity to learn something new and enrich your life!
WHO AM I ?
I am born and raised in Kobe, but I spent three years of my life in Denmark through exchange programs and a Master's degree program. I learned Danish through those years and feel as if Denmark is my second home. Besides, abundant experience abroad has provided different perspectives about Japan and I came to appreciate its beautiful culture. Various seasonal events and the food accompanying these events are one thing I love about Japan. Hot springs and tea ceremony are my favorite as well.
I have always loved traveling since I was a kid and travelled across Europe alone during my bachelor. I enjoy snorkeling and nature excursions as well as food and different cultures. Among my biggest accomplishments is that I recently reached the top of Mt. Fuji despite of the fact that I do not like hiking. I enjoy camping, snorkeling or nature excursions, but I find it super difficult to hike uphill. I am honestly not good at any sports except yoga, martial arts and marine sports. Therefore, this achievement is something very special to me, who prefers to eat snacks while I read novels/manga or watch TV rather than go running.
WHY ME ?
I have abundant experiences with guiding my foreign friends in Kobe, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and Tokyo. Many of these were conducted in Danish. As the master’s program was in English, my English skill is also a sufficient level for a guide. I am very motivated to play a role as a cultural mediator as well as a tour guide who can help you blend in to Japanese culture while showing you beautiful sites I love as a local. Motivated by this dream and my interest in Japanese culture, I will always work hard to expand my knowledge in Japanese culture so as to prepare for the questions you might come up with. Last but not least, I will make sure that you will have an amazing experience not only during the guided tour but during your entire stay in Japan by offering useful tips.
Tak for din interesse i min profil!

Aimu was tireless in showing us around Kyoto. We had limited time to explore, but she made sure we immersed ourselves in the most interesting spots.
Thank you very much for your nice comment! I had fun going around with you too. Your questions were a little challenging, so I learned a lot during the tour as well :) Hope to see you again in the U.S!
We loved spending the day in Kobe to learn about Aimu’s hometown of Kobe. Aimu is a great communicator and was great and being flexible in combining her local knowledge with our tastes and interests.
Thank you very much for your nice words! I had fun talking to you guys ;) Hope to see you again in Japan. Keep in touch!
-she was punctual -she has a good attitude -prior to my trip she helped me think through what options I had available. She spent considerable time in helping me plan my visit so that the days were structured around my particular interest which was photography. -she pointed out ways I could save money by doing things a certain way. -booked us a tea ceremony so i could photograph a Maiko. Excellent intro to the world of Maiko's and Geisha's.
I’m very grateful for your kind words. Thank you very much for a memorable day and all the experiences you’ve given me. However, I cannot stop giggling because you still don’t remember where you’ve been. Keep in mind that you visited Japan not China when you talk about the trip to your friends :D hehe Hope to see you again one day and take care until then ;)
Enjoyed a brief 4 hour tour. with Aimu. Thank you Aimu for sharing your knowledge about the city. It felt more like a visit with an old school friend, than a pure formally guided tour. Really appreciated your flexibility within the framework of the agreed itinerary. Highly recommended.
Hi Moabi, Thank you for your kind words :) It was such a fun and relax afternoon with a great talk and pizza. Hope to see you again in the future!
We were visiting Osaka for extremely brief duration with our 2 young children (3 and 6 year-old). Aimu was godsend in getting us a scoop of best of Osaka through its food and markets. She is very informative, great conversationalist, easygoing and patient. We felt as if we knew her for ages and she walked us around with patience and grace. We highly recommend her to anyone who is considering visiting Osaka.
Thank you very much for your kind words! It was such a nice trip with you two and your beautiful kids. I hope they enjoyed Japan despite of some weird food they disliked :P I hope to see you all again one day!
