The tour provides an in depth information of Japanese history which was quite enlightening. We visited the Asakusa Temple, Ueno Park, Meiji Shrine, Imperial Palace and the Tokyo Metropolitan Gov't Building. It was a long tour but well worth the time and effort in 7 hours. We also experienced riding the Tokyo subway and train system which was quite an eye opener. We would be lost without Mack, our very knowledgeable guide.
Mack gave us a first class tour of Tokyo. We wanted to avoid the tourist traps. We wanted a "Hidden Gem" tour -- and we got it! Mack took us to some very unusual places. We joined a Buddhist ceremony (drums and all). We wandered through narrow streets in old neighbourhoods of Tokyo surrounded by wooden homes. We had a traditional tea ceremony in one of these homes. And -- we visited some unique artists along the way. Mack's english is very good. He studied in the US -- and has an MBA from Duke University. He was very good at answering our questions. Bottom-line -- Mack is an excellent guide. We highly recommend him.
Really well organized tour and well timed so we could fit in everything Mack planned for the day. Mack even went to the trouble of doing a pre visit to the fish markets to ensure we could get front row for the Tuna cutting.
Mack was superb! He really likes what he does, and it shows! We were sooo lucky to have him as our guide to Tokyo! We saw so much more than we expected, traveled in bus, subway & walk to so many places in the city...all impossible to do by ourselves... he really surpassed our expectations...now we feel that we have a friend in Tokyo! Thanks Mack!
Mack was recommended to us so we decided to book a day with him and we are so pleased we did. With an allergy to msg and seafood, Mack worked hard to find somewhere suitable for lunch. We had an informative day off the beaten track, seeing a side of Japan that tourists don't usually see. Mack showed us the most wonderful little eateries, shrines, temples, ancient tablets and provided us with a thorough understanding of the history of Japan. Mack is an articulate, intelligent guide and a very wonderful, authentically caring person. Thanks for a great day Mack.
