My name is Toshi Nakahara.
I am certified tour guide for both English and Spanish.
I have lived in USA for 15 years in total starting from Iowa when I was in a high school as an AFS exchange student and later in Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco and finally in New Jersey as a business man.
I learned Spanish at Osaka University for Foreign Studies for 4 years and lived in Mexico, Venezuela and Ecuador for more than 5 years in total, and travelled some other countries in Latin America and Spain.
I am a certified Wine sommelier and quite knowledgeable about Japanese Sake.
So in addition to the regular tour of metropolitan Tokyo area and its vicinity, I can take you to very authentic and popular restaurants where you can enjoy wonderful world of Japanese cuisine with some local drink. That is my strength, so to speak.
I can do one day or half day tour for weekends for Metropolitan Tokyo area, but also can cater to the needs of people who want to be guided to some deep, casual and reasonably priced "Izakaya" style drinking places during weekdays after 5:00PM if I am open. I can also guide, if schedule allows, Yokohama, Kamakura, Hakone, Mt. Fuji vecinity, Nikko and some popular places in western Japan like Kyoto, Nara and Osaka as I lived there for many years.
I enjoy talking about many topics such as Japanese culture and of your own country.
My motto is to make visiting friends from overseas experience memorable moments and make them feel at home and happy.

Toshi is a very kind man, patient and knowledgeable about Tokyo. We spent a day with him and our two children (ages 6 and 10) and he was delightful. He never made us feel rushed and was flexible in making changes to our intinerary to accommodate our wishes.
Thank you very much for a good review. I enjoyed also! Please enjoy the rest of your itinerary.
Toshi was well prepared with an itinerary and was resourceful with the trains and short amount of time we had. I trusted him to choose the sights and lunch and he did not disappoint! As a solo female traveler, I felt comfortable and enjoyed my tour completely. I was impressed and can't wait to return! Thanks Toshi!
Alisha, I had a wonderful time also. I enjoyed conversations with you, too. It was an unseasonably cold day, but you put up very well. Please comeback in more comfortable season! Japan has many attractive places to offer. See you again!
Toshi was wonderful, from the planning to the execution he was very on top of it with great input and suggestions. We very much enjoyed his company and insights and would highly recommend his services.
Fotis, Thank you very much for your comment. I felt so lucky to have you as my client. Someday in the future, I would like to savor wonderful food and wine at your restaurant in Maui, Hawaii. Say hello to Karen! Come back again! Mahalo!
Our evening with Toshi was very pleasurable. He was gracious and conversational. We visited two restaurants that were quite different and definitely local in nature. Toshi accommodated our dietary restrictions and adversity to cigarette smoke. We ate a variety of foods and drank 2 kinds of sake and a Pinot from South Africa. We would definitely recommend Toshi to anyone looking for a special night out in Tokyo.
Jeffrey and Anna Thank you very much for your comments. It was my pleasure to accompany you and enjoy food and drinks talking about a lot of things... Please come back again as your stay in Tokyo was very short and not only Tokyo but the neighborhood cities offer a lot of things to see, experience and eat/drink. Thank you again for choosing me as your guide.
TOSHI was punctual polite and absolute delight to spend time with -he guided our day to include many highlights but was also very flexible and patient with us looking around.
