About

(English) ↓Spanish version down below ↓

My name is Toshi Nakahara.

I am certified tour guide for both English and Spanish.

I have lived in USA for 15 years in total starting from Iowa when I was in a high school as an AFS exchange student and later in Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco and finally in New Jersey as a business man.

I learned Spanish at Osaka University for Foreign Studies for 4 years and lived in Mexico, Venezuela and Ecuador for more than 5 years in total, and travelled some other countries in Latin America and Spain.

I am a certified Wine sommelier and quite knowledgeable about Japanese Sake.

So in addition to the regular tour of metropolitan Tokyo area and its vicinity, I can take you to very authentic and popular restaurants where you can enjoy wonderful world of Japanese cuisine with some local drink. That is my strength, so to speak.

I can do one day or half day tour for weekends for Metropolitan Tokyo area, but also can cater to the needs of people who want to be guided to some deep, casual and reasonably priced "Izakaya" style drinking places during weekdays after 5:00PM if I am open. I can also guide, if schedule allows, Yokohama, Kamakura, Hakone, Mt. Fuji vecinity, Nikko and some popular places in western Japan like Kyoto, Nara and Osaka as I lived there for many years.

I enjoy talking about many topics such as Japanese culture and of your own country.

My motto is to make visiting friends from overseas experience memorable moments and make them feel at home and happy.

Saludos Emma y Marcelo

“ Day tour around Tokyo ”

Toshihiko was a great guide, he toured us through shrines and temples of Tokyo. As well, we saw the Edo castle grounds and ended back in our neighborhood for a great meal. I highly recommend him, very knowledgeable in history and great conversationalist. We are from Texas, but speak Spanish and he had a great vocabulary in both languages. Thanks Toshi

“ Great Tour ”

Hi Toshi! Thank you very much for the wonderful food experience. We loved the choises you made for all the different delicious dishes. We never would have chosen ourselves. We wanted atmoshere, good food and an spectacular view and we got it. Even the spontaneous idea from Toshi to visit the illuminated cherryblossoms by night around the Imperial Palace was ********** the visit in a Bar sitting in in a box without andy shoes on with a cold beer and traditional snackes felt very japanese. Toshi, we hope to see you on Bribie Island one day for an european style revanche. Keep up the good work!!! Kind regards from Marjan, Rob and Gabi 😘

“ Food experience Tokyo ”

Toshihiko was a pleasure to spend an evening with in Tokyo exploring Sake and food. From the very start he communicated through email asking about our food preferences and any allergies we may have. He made dinner reservations at a wonderful place we would never of found on our own. His English was perfect and we were able to understand everything clearly. He took great care of us traveling through the city and ordering all of our meal. It was a new experience tasting sake and we were surprised how good it was. I highly recommend Toshi to visitors. You will not be disappointed. It was like dining with an old friend.
