My name is Toshi Nakahara.
I am certified tour guide for both English and Spanish.
I have lived in USA for 15 years in total starting from Iowa when I was in a high school as an AFS exchange student and later in Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco and finally in New Jersey as a business man.
I learned Spanish at Osaka University for Foreign Studies for 4 years and lived in Mexico, Venezuela and Ecuador for more than 5 years in total, and travelled some other countries in Latin America and Spain.
I am a certified Wine sommelier and quite knowledgeable about Japanese Sake.
So in addition to the regular tour of metropolitan Tokyo area and its vicinity, I can take you to very authentic and popular restaurants where you can enjoy wonderful world of Japanese cuisine with some local drink. That is my strength, so to speak.
I can do one day or half day tour for weekends for Metropolitan Tokyo area, but also can cater to the needs of people who want to be guided to some deep, casual and reasonably priced "Izakaya" style drinking places during weekdays after 5:00PM if I am open. I can also guide, if schedule allows, Yokohama, Kamakura, Hakone, Mt. Fuji vecinity, Nikko and some popular places in western Japan like Kyoto, Nara and Osaka as I lived there for many years.
I enjoy talking about many topics such as Japanese culture and of your own country.
My motto is to make visiting friends from overseas experience memorable moments and make them feel at home and happy.

Leo Thank you very much for your nice comments. I enjoyed every piece of conversation with you. Please come back to purchase Japanese Sward which you showed interests whenever you can.
We had a wonderful time!! The restaurant and dinner arranged by Toshi was the best we had during our trip. When we go again we will for sure make arrangements with Toshi and this time for more restaurants as well as other tours
Felix Thank you very much for your nice comments. I myself enjoyed conversation with you and your wife. I would be happy if you come back again to Japan and if I can take you to other fine gourmet restaurants in Tokyo, as there are many. Your stay this time was a very short one. Japan offers a lot more to see and enjoy. Hope to see you again.
We booked our tour with Toshi to go Mount Fuji. We wanted to go up the Ropeway , on a cruise and up to 5th Station and to see the flowers. Toshi created us an amazing schedule but said that we probably could not do everything. Toshi then went to Mount Fuji to check it out, when he was there he found it crazy busy with people waiting over an hour to go up the Ropeway and on the cruise and to line up to buy food etc. Toshi advised us that this would be a bad experience for us and recommend that we hire a car and driver so we could get to attractions quicker with out having to line up for rides etc. This was a stroke of genius , we left early and did not have to wait at all at the Ropeway or for the cruise we , also went to a lookout , 4th Station as 5th Station was closed. As time was going w... read more
Cassie Thank you very much for your overwhelming comments. It was a delight to guide you and your family. Checking the places is what I do always without fail. It is a duty and I have never missed for over 40 years of my career. Well, I think Heaven helped me today because I tried to help myself, indeed. Come back again! or tell all your friends that Japan offers a lot of things!
