My friend, I and our spouses was shown around Tokyo for 8 hours on Sun 9 Sep 2018. Ms Riko arrived promptly at the hotel we stayed to meet us. I will not write on every details of our 8 hours walking tour except to comment that the places of interest that Ms Riko had chosen in her planned itinerary were much to our likings. Overall we are very pleased with Ms Riko being our guide to Tokyo for the day. She was very attentive to all our needs and is very knowledgeable. Ms Riko is an EXCELLENT guide and has all our appreciation and praises. We have no hesitation at all in recommending Ms Riko to anyone who need a guide to Tokyo.
Dear Eng sun, thank you so much for sending your review of the tour! It's good to hear that you are satisfied with my service. I remember that we walked a lot on the hot day. Only thing I regret is that I couldn't show you the inner market of Tsukiji Fish Market because it was closed on that day. It was nice meeting you, your wife and friends this time. If you have a chance to come to Japan again, please let me know. I would love to show you some more attractions such as Toyosu new fish market, sumo....etc. I hope to see you all again sometime in the future. Thank you again, Eng sun! Riko
Riko was an absolute pleasure to work with leading up to and during our trip. We were a large group of teens and adults which added extra challenges to our travel. Riko planned ahead and secured lunch reservations so that we wouldn't have to waste time waiting for a table for our large group. My husband has a severe shellfish allergy and she made sure that this was understood by the restaurants. The weather was extremely hot and humid during our visit and Riko made sure that we stayed healthy and set a reasonable pace. She customized our itinerary to our interested and was able to work in some very special experiences. I had mentioned to her in email that we were particularly keen on learning about sumo. Since it wasn't tournament season Riko found a training stable that allowed... read more
Dear Debra, Thank you so much for sending such a great review to me! I'm happy to hear you are satisfied with the tours. I think what I did is just normal things for me to make the tours efficient and enjoyable as a guide. As you may know, most of restaurants in Japan are small that cannot accommodate many people at once. So I thought " I should make reservations for lunch place for the group in advance, otherwise....". And also sumo, although to arrange a sumo-practice-watch is getting harder and harder, that is one of my favorite activities. I wanted to share its attraction with you since you were keen to watch sumo. Luckily I got a permission to visit the sumo stable. I think that a trip is special time for everybody. People have worked hard until that time and have looked forward it... read more
During our Tokyo vacation we were with Riko for 3 days. We arranged 3 different concept tours with her and all were very good. Riko has good verbal and written communication. Our group was 9 person ages from 6 to 76 and Riko managed very well all our needs. She did her best to make our Tokyo trip to be unforgettable. Thank you Riko and hope to see you in the future. I recommend Riko to every one who wishes to have a smooth and lovely Tokyo trip.
Dear Bora, Thank you very much for having me as your guide for three days. In addition to that, thank you so much for sending the wonderful comment to me! It has been very hot, so sometimes it was hard to get around in the city especially for a family with children and elderly people. I was impressed with your strong family tie. Pace of each of you varies, but everybody considers others and stays together. It would be great for me to see and tour you all again. I hope to see you again in the future (maybe in a mild season?!). Say hi to everyone! Thank you again,Bora!! Riko
Our family of three only had about 3 full days in Tokyo so we decided to hire Riko to make the most of our short time there. I didn’t want to waste any time worrying about ground transportation or figuring out restaurants. Riko was a savior for us! Not only did she speak perfect English, but she knew the background and history of everything we saw. Prior to our arrival, she and I went back and forth on possibilities - so she had a very detailed (but flexible) plan in place. She taught us how to use the subways/rails, she took us to two great restaurants, and she helped navigate a JR rail pass snafu (my fault but she went out of her way to fix). We are eternally grateful for all her help!!!
Dear Karen, Thank you so much for sending such a wonderful comment for me! I'm just happy if I could help you to make your stay more enjoyable and efficient in Tokyo. You and your family are so nice that I myself enjoyed touring you all very much, especially your daughter's chats. I still remember her cute smile. I hope that the problem of JR pass is solved properly and I have another chance to see you all again someday. I would like to show you other aspects of Japan, maybe the beautiful countryside for next time. Say hi to your gourmet husband and lovely daughter! Thank you again, Karen! Riko
We needed someone to help familiarize us with the confusing and overwhelming rail system in Tokyo. On our first full day in Japan we decided to acquire a tour guide to help us navigate the huge and busy city. Riko promptly met us in our hotel lobby and reviewed our agenda for the day. She was very open to our requests and gave great suggestions or alternatives. She always ensured we were accounted for and adjusted her pace to our pace. She is very knowledgeable about the architecture, history and traditional/modern customs. Through Riko we have gained a greater sense of respect for the culture and place. All accolades aside, on this tour be prepared for A LOT of walking. Break in your new shoes and make sure it's comfortable. If you are travelling during Japan's summer months please bewar... read more
Dear Chelsea, Thank you so much for sending your review to the website! Yes, Japan’s summer is hot and humid. It’s quite hard to walk outdoors for a long time even for the locals in this season. Our tour day was a typical summer day, so you must have been so tired after the tour. I appreciate your patience and also your great suggestion for those planning Japan trip in summer. As you suggested, I personally wouldn’t recommend walking tours in summer here for those who are not used to walking on a daily basis. Your actual voice will help them to consider more suitable travel plan. But as you mentioned there is a certainly benefit of walking tours. I hope you experienced something that cannot do on a bus tour. Although the tour day may not have been a perfect day for a walking tour, it... read more
