We just spent a full, fascinating and delightful day being guided through Kyoto by Yoshihisa. We visited many of the major sites, which he curates beautifully, and we never felt rushed nor stressed. A former English teacher, Yoshie is a wealth of history, stories, poems and puns. If you are visiting Kyoto for the first time, I highly recommend spending your first day with Yoshie.
Hi Jim. I really appreciate your kind words of gratitude. I am very pleased to learn that you and your wife enjoyed yesterday's tour with me. I hope you will continue a nice trip and return home safely with lots of pleasnt memories in Japan. Next time you visit Japan in early April or late November, be sure to get in touch, please. Thank you again. With best wishes, Yoshie
Yoshie is an extremely knowledgeable guide, he showed us (a family of 5 - children aged 16,13 and 10) the highlights of Kyoto and Nara across 3 days. He is full of interesting and amusing facts as well as being a kind, thoughtful and generous guide. A particular highlight was our meal in a traditional Izakaya restaurant - SUCH fun!! Thank you Yoshie!
Hi Meg, Thank you very much for your quick and kind review for my tour. It has been terribly hot for the three days in Kyoto and Nara. I appreciate your patience, listening to me attentively in spite of the heat and humidity. Yesterday we had a karaoke party near the izakaya restaurant and I told the chef that you and your family had been very pleased with your meals and kind hospitality. He was also delighted to hear it. I hope you will continue a pleasant trip and return home safely with lots of nice memories and souvenirs. Next time you visit Kansai region, be sure to get in touch, please. With the best wishes, Yoshie
The tour with yoshie was extraordinary! We had a excelente day, full of fun and sightseeing. Yoshie was very knowledgeable on all of the places we vistited in Kyoto. His explanations and english were perfect. During the tour he adapted very well with our pace and Requests. Overall it was one of the best tours in japan with the best guide in japan! Yoshie is an excelent human being, we really enjoyed his company very much!
Hi Benjamin, I am very pleased to have your wonderful review for my tour in Kyoto. Thank you so much. I am also glad that you and your family liked each and every site we visited in My Favorite Golden Tour. I hope you will have a pleasant trip in Nara and Osaka, too. Be sure to get in touch next time you visit Kansai region, please. With best wishes, Yoshie
We spent a full day in Kyoto with Yoshie and he was an absolutely pleasure...extremely knowledgeable and consideration. We covered more ground this day than any other in our trip and he didn't just walk us to the spots for good picture taking but gave us the full background and significance of each site which was what we were looking for. Yoshie was a great conversationalist and highly sensitive to our needs, preferences and occasional confusion with the language.
Hi Richard, Thank you very much for your heart-warming review for my tour in Kyoto. I am very pleased to learn that you understood the historical and cultural background of each site you visited in the Golden Route tour. It was so nice meeting and talking with you and your family. Be sure to get in touch next time you have another chance of visiting Kansai region, please. With warmest regards, Yoshie
Yoshi, took our family out for a day of sightseeing. It was raining but it did not take anything away for the day we had. Yoshi was well organized and considerate of all our needs. Each ancient site he took us to was unique - some very popular and others off the beaten track. If we had been on our own we would not have found many of these places and would never have been able to see as much in a day. Apart from being an excellent guide with an abundance of historical and local knowledge, he took us to some great restaurants including a great dinner at his favorite restaurant which he has frequented for 35 years. The owner made us a special dish without us asking and served us ice cream at the end even though we did not ask. We were all pleasantly tired at the end of the day. My hi... read more
Hi Martin, Thank you very much for your quick and wonderful review on my tour yesterday. I am very pleased to learn that you and your family enjoyed the Golden Route tour in spite of the rain all day long. I will surely tell Hiro-san, the owner of the restaurant, that your family appreciated his dishes and warm hospitality. I hope you will return home safely with lots of nice memories and souvenirs. Next time you visit Kansai region, be sure to get in touch, please. With best wishes, Yoshie
Yoshihisa was super friendly and energetic and was very well informed on all the sites visited. His english is very good and he took the time to answer all of out questions . Overall my family and I greatly enjoyed having him tour us.
Hi Paola, It's a great pleasure to me to have such a nice review for my tour in Osaka. I also had a pleasant time guiding you and your cute kids. I hope you will continue an enjoyable trip in Japan and return home safely. Be sure to get in touch again next time you visit Kansai region, please. With warmest regards. Yoshie
Yoshi was a great tour guide. He was accommodating and very knowledgeable. He answered our questions patiently and tailored our trip with our requests. I would highly recommend him to my friends.
Hi Sandy, Thank you very much for your kind review. I also had a very pleasant time guiding you and your family around Kyoto. I am glad that you were able to visit almost all the sites you had wanted to. Be sure to get in touch next time you have another cahnce of coming to Kansai region. With best wishes, Yoshie
Yoshie was great. His knowledge of the area and English skills are a blessing for our trip in Kyoto. Be prepared to walk a lot and fast since there are many places to see in a single day. I would recommend for teenagers and up and not suitable for young children since there’s lot of waking involve.
Hi Vincent, Thank you very much for your kind words of gratitude. I also had a nice time guiding you and your family around Kyoto. I am pleased that your family kept up with my walkiing speed. If you have another chance of visiting Kansai region, be sure to get in touch with me, please. With best wishes, Yoshie
Yoshi was a great guide. He is very knowledgeable. He speaks English well and helped us accomplish our goal of being able to navigate 4 more days in Kyoto entirely on our own.
Hi Rem, Thank you very much for your kind review for my tour in Kyoto. I hope you had a very pleasant tour for the rest of your stay in Kyoto. Be sure to get in touch with me if you have another chance of visiting Kansai region. I wish you the best of luck! With warmest regards, Yoshie
Yoshi was a great guide. We appreciated the stories he shared and how he gave us a feel for the city. Thoughtful, kind, generous man. We loved being able to be with someone who would focus on what we were interested in. Definitely recommend Yoshi!
Hi Deborah, It is a great honor and pleasure to have such a superb review for my tour in Kyoto. I also enjoyed myself guiding you around the gardens, the temple and the shrine. It was good too to be able to see some cherry trees still in blossom. If there is another chance of visiting Kansai region, be sure to get in touch, please. With warmest regards, Yoshie
Yoshie was AMAZING! We had such an enjoyable trip to Nara with Yoshie. He was an excellent tour guide who taught us about the culture. We really appreciate it Yoshie and my family had a wonderful time. He also is very flexible with schedule and time. Recommend him wholeheartedly for an awesome trip.
Hi Trisha, Thank you very much for a wonderful review for my tour in Nara. I was pleased to see you and Mo enjoying feeding some deer a lot near Nigatsu-do Hall of Tohdai-ji Temple. It was also nice to be able to visit Asuka ni Imasu Shrine and Asuka-dera Temple. I hope you will return home safely with lots of good memory and souvenirs. With warmest regards, Yoshie
Yoshie was at the well described meeting point, sign in hand with a gift of origami figures crafted by his wife for our grandson! As a former teacher, his English was good and he was very knowledgeable about the various sites we were able to visit in the short time we had with him. Knowing that our grandson was interested in manga, he arranged for us to visit the Manga Museum which was a big hit. Although we are very active and in good shape, we found his walking pace a bit too fast at times (guess he wanted to make sure we covered all the places we had asked to see)! Over lunch he wrote some very clear notes on suggestions for our next two days in Kyoto. Yoshie took some great photos of us during the day!
Hi Skee, Thank you very much for writing a nice review for the tour in Kyoto. I am sometimes told that I walk too fast. I need to keep this precious advice in mind as a tour guide. Anyway I am glad that your grandson enjoyed visiting the Mnaga Museum. I hope your grandson will come to Kansai region and see me again when he grows older. With best regards, Yoshie
Perfec day and tour with Youshie; well selected sites to see, very good english, and Youshie really good companion. Highly recommend.
Hi Gintaras. Thank you very much for your nice comment on my tour in Kyoto. I also enjoyed the evening at the izakaya restaurant with you all after the tour. It was a precious experience for me to talk with people from Lithuania. I hope you will return home safely with lots of good memories of Japan and souvenirs. With warmest regards, Yoshie
Had a wonderful day in Nara with Yoshi. He arrived at the port on time and was very organized. Through the day he educated us on the important aspects of what we were seeing and made sure our trip was as smooth as possible. His English is excellent too! We then had a relaxing afternoon in Osaka visiting some wonderful food and drink favorites which we very much enjoyed! Overall a wonderful with a lovely man! Thank you Yoshi from Karen and Steven.
Hi Steven. Thank you very much for your lovely review for my tour in Nara and Osaka. I also had a pleasant time, guiding you and Karen around Nara. I was pleased to see you enjoying kushikatsu and sashimi of tuna at the restaurants in Shin-Sekai ( the New World ). I hope you will get in touch with me if you have another chance of visiting Kasai region. With best wishes, Yoshie
The Golden Route tour with Yoshie was a highlight of our time in Kyoto. It was a day packed with history, natural beauty, and fun. Having a super knowledgeable guide like Yoshie makes temples and shrines a lot more fun to visit than on your own. He provided context and meaning for everything we saw, pointing out details we would have never noticed. His English is excellent and communication was very easy. We covered so much in one day that it would have probably taken us three days if we were left to our own devices. He also took great pictures and brought us to a local izakaya after the tour, which we enjoyed very much as it was not a touristy spot and had excellent good value food and sake. Whether you are in Kyoto for only one day or a few days, I recommend that you spend one of them wi... read more
Hi Anna, I appreciate your heart-warming review for my tour in Kyoto. I am very pleased that you enjoyed My Favorite Golden Route, my silly jokes and the dishes and sake at the izakaya. I also enjoyed your company all the time during the tour. I am looking forward to seeing you again in the near future. I wish you the very best of luck. Yoshie
Yoshie was an excellent guide, and also an exceptionally kind and pleasant person to spend the day with. His Golden Route tour packed a lot of sightseeing into one day, but we still had time to enjoy it, to learn from his detailed knowledge of the sights we were seeing, and to soak in the amazing views and architecture. There was a distinct flow to the day, and to the historical stories that went along with the sites we saw, that tied everything together and really added to the experience. That must have taken him a lot of effort to piece together in his research but it came across very naturally. And it also turned out that Yoshie really knew his stuff when it comes to food in Kyoto, an unexpected but very nice bonus! If we return to Japan, we will definitely sign up for another tour... read more
Hi Tom. It is a great honor and big joy to me to have such a superb review for my tour in Kyoto. I am very pleased to learn that you and your wife had a wonderful time with me and the dinner at Wakaba ( young leaf ). I also enjoyed your company a lot. Let's keep in touch. With warmest regards, Yoshie
My friend and I had a wonderful time traveling with Yoshi. He is happy, funny, high energy, polite, friendly, and patient and knowledgeable. He enjoyed his job and so as we enjoyed his company. We highly recommend him.
Hi Wai, I really appreciate your wonderful comment on my job in Kyoto and Nara. I also had a nice time, guiding you and Susan around. I hope you will visit Kansai region again in the near future, especially cherry-blossom or autumn foliage season. I wish two of you the best luck! Yoshie
Yoshie was friendly, knowledgeable, & kind
Hi, Debbie, Thank you very much for your kind comment on my tour in Osaka. I am very glad that your family all enjoyed the tour in Osaka, including the dinner and the sake drinking. I hope you will contact me next time you visit Kansai region. With the best wishes. Yoshie
I am very grateful that Yoshie-san agreed to be our guide to Mount Miwa otherwise this trip to climb the scared mountain would not have been possible. Yoshie-san has been helpful and accommodating to my request even before we met and he had put together a five hours trip to Mount Miwa for us. Yoshie-san is friendly and easy to talk to. His manner was calm and relaxed. Most of all he was intuitive to our wants and wishes, he was able to sense what experience we would like to take away from this trip without much asking from us. Besides the planned mountain climbing we also had sake tasting, and a very delicious dinner. Thank you Yoshie-san!
Hi Phyllis-san, I really appreciate your kind words of gratitude for the trip to Mt. Miwa, a sacred mountain. It was a precious experience to me, too. It was a bit tiring but a lot of fun, walking up and down the steep slopes surrounded by tall trees and the stream. I hope you will continue a pleasant trip and make a new discovery about the culture and scenery during your stay in Kyoto. Be sure to get in touch next time you visit Kyoto. With warmest regards, Yoshie
Tour was excellent. We were able to finish all tours described with plenty of time to get back to our cruise ship. Tour was very informative and yoshi was very professional and accommodating. The ramen lunch was so good on the restaurant where he brought us. I will definitely contact him again when i visit Kyoto area in the future.
Hi Romeo. Thank you very much for your nice review for the Kyoto tour. I was also glad that we were able to finish the tour in a limited time. I had a wonderful time guiding your group around, listening to me attentively. I hope to see you and your friends again in the near future. With best wishes, Yoshie
Yoshi is a wonderful representative for his country. He speaks fluent English. He is passionate about Japanese culture, traditions and history. He is poetic, and has a lively sense of humor. We were impressed by his knowledge of history, and his enthusiasm for his work. He was inexhaustible as a guide and a story teller. We’re most fortunate to have found him. Many, many thanks, Yoshi.
Hi Natalia, It is a great honor to have such a wonderful review for my tour in Kyoto. I am really pleased to learn that you have enjoyed the tour to the full. I hope the memory of our good encounter will long linger on like the sound of a temple bell. ( Ichigo Ichie ) Next time you have another chance of visiting Kansai region, be sure to get in touch, please. With warmest regards, Yoshie
Yoshie was an amazing tour guide! He gave us great historical and social context for each place we visited. His restaurant suggestions were amazing and he was kind enough to think about my dietary restrictions (as I am a vegetarian). He is a wonderful guide! I would highly recommend him!
Hi Ujjival, Thank you very much for your nice comment on my tours in Kyoto. You were the first people who applied for My Favorite Silver Route: Kyoto One-day Tour. And I am awfully pleased that you enjoyed the two tours and the lunch at the two restaurants. If you have another chance of visiting Kansai region, be sure to get in touch, please. With warmest regards, Yoshie
I'm so happy that Yoshie was available to be my guide! He is a terrific combination of educator, storyteller, and superfun companion. We did a day in Osaka and a bespoke tour of Kyoto. Before I even booked him, he was of great assistance, offering advice about how to handle my travel to Osaka. Our day in Kyoto was nothing short of splendid despite the drizzle. The food! The temples! The food! I asked him to take me to the places that he likes to eat and he has very good taste in yummies. I have nothing but praise for him. He deserves all the tourists! I'm already planning my next trip to the Kansai region and will be sure to book Yoshie's time again. If you get a chance, get Yoshie to take you to his favourite izakaya. Hi Sarah. I really appreciate your heart-warming review for my tours in Osaka and Kyoto. I am very pleased that you loved the restaurans that I took you to. I guess my eating and drinking experiences for the past decade after retirement has helped me a lot for my guiding job. The other day I visited Hiro-san's izakaya and told him that you had been delighted with their tasty dishes and entertaiment, including his silly jokes. Do you treasure his small galss for beer drinking? I hope to see you again in Kansai region. With warmest regards, Yoshie
Yoshi has a wide experience and knowledge in all places we visited. He is very accommodating , informative and helpful. Thank you very much for the wonderful time from meeting us from the hotel, to the tours and sending us back to the train station back to Tokyo. Everything was perfect, Yoshi is not only an excellent tour guide but also as a skillful photographer for our family. We shall absolutely recommend your tour to our friends and relatives and you will be our first call when we visit Kyoto again in the near future .
Hi Winnie. Thank you very much for writing a wonderful review for my tour in Kyoto. I also had a nice time guiding you and your family around. I hope you have returned home with lots of pleasant memories and good souvenirs. I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year, hoping to see you someday soon. With warmest regards, Yoshie
My family and I had a wonderful day on Yoshie’s Favourite Golden Route covering north-western Kyoto. Firstly he obliged with a change request to the itinerary, and he helped us all day across the different transport options to get to the various sights and eventually back to the hotel. Yoshie also recommended other sights in our remaining days in Kyoto that we would enjoy (and we certainly did). His knowledge of the sights and local history was great, his English was excellent, and we really enjoyed his happy, relaxed and engaging manner. He even helped and motivated some of the more lethargic members of our party up the hill to see the monkeys in Arashiyama (one of our itinerary change requests)! All in all, we had a great day visiting some beautifu sights and we would definitely rec... read more
Hi Grant. Thank you very much for your heartwarming review. Thanks to the beautiful autumn day, I also took in the amazing scenery of colored leaves in Arashiyama. Next time you visit Kansai region, be sure to get in touch, please. I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year. With warmest regards. Yoshie
Command of English very good , expert in his field , accommodating and friendly. Would highly recommend and in fact will ask for his help again when in the area in the future.
Hi Alice. Thank you very much for your nice review. I had a pleasant time guiding your group around in Kyoto, Uji and Nara for two days. Alice, I was very much attracted by your warm personality, thank you. Be sure to get in touch next time you visit Kansai region. With best wishes, Yoshie
We had a great experience with Yoshi. He is a lovely person and a very knowledgeable guide. After the tour, we have a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and traditions. Every detail of the tour was perfectly planned out, he even showed us the best spots for taking photos. Thank you Yoshihisa!
Hi Julia. Thank you very much for your kind review. I also had a pleasant time guiding you and your husband around Nara. I wish he had had an experience of sake tasting at a sake brewery in Nara Machi, an old quarter of Nara. I sincererly hope you will return home safely with lots of nice memories and souvenirs. Be sure to get in touch with me next time you come to Kansai district. With best wishes, Yoshie
We truly enjoyed spending 2 days touring Kyoto and Osaka with Yoshi. He is professional, knowledgeable and is a very nice person. We had some personal issues during the first day and Yoshi was very helpful in helping to overcome those obstacles. He arranged the day in a very organized fashion and managed to get a lot of sights into a relatively short period of time. I would definitely recommend Yoshi for touring Osaka or Kyoto.
Hi Alex. Thank you very much for your heart-warming review in spite of your personal issues. I am still wondering if there was a better way to help you more. I sincerely hope you will have a more pleasant time in Shimizu and Tokyo and return home safely with lots of souvenirs. Be sure to get in touch next time you have a chance of visiting Kyoto again. With warmest regards, Yoshie
We did two private excursions with Yoshi. Yoshi is: Very polite Punctual Pleasant Knowledgeable A good person The two private day excursions were perfectly organised. I can not find a negative point. The perfect guide. Very happy that he was our guide. We wish him and his family a long and healthy life. Joël and Ilse. Flanders, Belgium.
Hi Joe and Ilse, Thank you so much for your quick and polite review for the two-day tours in Kyoto and Nara. I was deeply impressed by your sincere attitude toward my explanation about everything you saw and heard during the tour. Thanks to you two, I had a very pleasant time guiding you around. I hope you will return home safely with lots of souvenirs and good memories of Japan. Let's keep in touch. With best regards, Yoshie
Yoshihisa planned a fast-paced 2-day tour of Kyoto for my wife and me in order to cover the most important sites in Kyoto. Yoshihisa, whose English as a retired high school English teacher was excellent and easy to understand, executed a carefully planned route each day. His depth of knowledge was exceptional, his explanations clear, and he had an excellent ability to teach us about the history of Japan and the relevavance of the sites we visited. He was at all times a pleasure to be with and we very much enjoyed time we spent with him. He is an outstanding guide and I highly recommend him.
Hi Elliot, It is a great pleasure to me to have such a supreme review for the two-day tour in Kyoto. I also had a wonderful time guiding you around. I believe the two beautiful days helped you take many nice pictures and bring back pleasant memories as well. I hope you will visit Kyoto again in the cherry blossom season. Be sure to get in touch when you have another chance. With warmest regards, Yoshie
in Z us to experience and understand the sights we visited. The first of our lunches introduced us to a type of place we had never heard of before. A Hspanese pancake with multiple ingredients ... it was delicious. On our second day Yoshi added a number of places that weren’t on our itinerary but were great. Including the wonderful Kyoto train station. All in all a wonderful experience.
Hi Sam, Thank you for your superb comment on our two-day tour. We were blessed with beatiful days, especially good for phototaking. I hope you will make a wonderful album of your stay in Kyoto. I also wish the good memory in Kyoto will long linger on just like the sound of a temple bell. With the best wishes. Yoshie
Our group of 5 just finished 2 great days with Yoshi in Kobe & Kyoto. Such a kind and thoughtful man. We knew we had made the right choice when he gave the women in our group an origami gift at the beginning of our tour. Yoshi was very well prepared, an excellent communicator (he taught university level English), informative but never boring, attentive to our wishes and a pleasure to be with. Can’t speak highly enough about him. If he’s available, book him. You won’t be disappointed.
Hi Jerry. It is a great honor to receive such a wonderful review from you. I also had a very pleasant time guiding your group around in Kobe and Kyoto. I wish we had had more time to visit Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine after NIshiki Market. I hope you will return home safely with lots of souvenirs and nice memories of Japan. Hope to see you again in Kyoto. With warmest regards, Yoshie
Yoshie is a great local tour guide! He came and met us in Kobe for our tour in Kyoto. Our one day tour was well organised, and we were able to see the places that we most wanted to with a limited amount of time. Kyoto is a really beautiful city. Yoshie was very adaptable, making on the go changes to our itinerary, still ensuring we were able to return to Kobe for our departure. I highly recommend Yoshie!
Hi Deb. Thank you very much for your heartwarming comment on your time-limited tour in Kyoto. I am pleased that you liked the sites you had carefully selected beforehand. I do hope you will come and stay in Kyoto at least for a couple of days and see many more places of historic and scenic interest that Kyoto has to offer someday in the near future. With best regards, Yoshie
A day with Yoshie can help understanding what we just see as tourists. He is passionate about is job and I loved his sincere desire to share his knowledge with me. So... I do not only think that he is an excellent guide but I also think he deserves the best tousists, the ones who are deeply interested in Kyoto and love also less visited temples and shrines. Grazie mille Yoshie!
Hi Lucia. Thank you very much for your quick and kind review. I had a nice time guiding you around in the south-eastern area of Kyoto. I also learned a lot from the tour because you wanted to vist some lesser-known places as well. I hope you will have a pleasant tour the day after tomorrow, too. Till then take care! With best regards, Yoshie
He was very patient with us even after missing 2 trains. We have very hard to please kids not only with food but things to keep them occupied as well. And he took us to spots we would have never found and kept the children entertained the entire time. I would highly recommend him as a guide. Hes very sweet and speaks English which is hard to find. Thank you so much we had a fantastic time and enjoyed spending the day with you!
Hi Jennifer. Thank you very much for your kind review. I also had a nice time guiding your family around in Kyoto. I am pleased that your children enjoyed visiting the spots I took them to and that your husband liked the dishes very much, especially the toro, fatty part of tuna, and the kara-age, deep-fried chicken at the yakitori restaurant. I hope you will continue a pleasant trip and return to New York safely. With warm regards, Yoshie
My wife and I spent 2 weeks in Japan for our honeymoon. Our 1 day with Yoshie was by far the greatest of our entire trip. We learned, and will never forget - the right guide makes all the difference! The trip with Yoshie was his favorite Golden Route, with some added stops based on our conversations. The entire journey is one my wife and I will never forget. To call the day stunning, or excemplory - just wouldn’t do it justice. We loved ever single second! If we could have spent our entire trip with Yoshie, we would. Yoshie is kind, prepared, knowledgeable and an amazing person. It was such an honor to spend the day with him. Also, he is incredibly athletic - I’ve played soccer my whole life, and Yoshie can easily out walk me! The added bonus was Yoshie was so kind to also offer sugg... read more
Hi Charles. It is a great honor to me to have such a supreme review for my tour. I am delighted to learn that you enjoyed every minute of the tour in spite of the heat yesterday. Thanks to the sunny weather, however, we were able to take in nice views wherever we were, on a mountain-top or near a river. I hope you will continue a pleasant trip and return home safely with lots of nice memories and souvenirs. Let's keep in touch. With warmest regards, Yoshie
We had an absolutely fantastic time with Yoshi. Right from before our trip (when we had a lot of questions) to during the tour, he was very patient with us answering all our queries (including itenerary changes) and accommodating the demands of traveling with young kids on a very hot day. We covered everything that we needed and wanted to using cabs, walking and train. He was also very knowledgeable about Kyoto culture. The highlight for us was Shojin Ryori that he had suggested for us (since we are vegetarian). Unforgettable experience. Thank you so much!
Hi Vivek. I really appreciate your heart-warming words of gratitude. I am very happy to learn that you enjoyed your private Kyoto tour with me in spite of the terrible heat. I am also relieved that you liked Shojin Ryori at the restaurant in the precinct of Daitoku-ji Temple. Please get in touch with me if you have another chance of visiting Kansai region. With warmest regards, Yoshie
We - me, my sister, my mom, and my aunt - had a wonderful time with Yoshie exploring Kyoto on his one day tour. First of all, planning it was great - Yoshie was responsive to every message and understanding when we said that, because of the heat, we might need to take it easier than planned. Meeting up with Yoshie was very easy, and then we were off to the best sights in Kyoto - the golden palace first thing in the morning when it wasn't so crowded, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Fushimi Inari - just to name a few. Yoshie was a great tour guide and knew the answers to every single one of our questions. And he gave recommendations for a dinner location after the tour and gave me ideas for the next day of touring on our own. Everyone in my group agreed that the tour day with Yoshie wa... read more

Yoshi was a great tour guide we asked at the last minute to modify our tour which he did without issue he was very easy to get along with and we enjoyed everything we saw loved the saki brewery
Hi Maribeth. I really appreciate your kind words of gratitude. I also enjoyed myself guiding your family around in Nara. I am pleased to learn that you liked the sake tasting at the brewery. Please get in touch if you have another chance of visiting Kansai region. With best regards, Yoshie
Yoshie took us to visit Nara for a day trip. We can't even begin to describe what a good experience we had with him. Not only was it a great learning experience, but we had a ton of fun and the day went by in a flash! He is incredibly smart, knowledgeable, kind, helpful and patient. We loved our visit with him and would gladly book another tour whenever we go back to the Kyoto area. Highly recommend!
Hi Nicole. It is a great honor to have such a marvelous review. I also had a fun time with you and Jason in Nara. Especially I am pleased to have shared sake tasiting with you at a brewery in Nara machi. Hope to see you two in Kyoto someday soon. Thank you again. Yoshie
Our tour was very informative and Yoshi was friendly and nice to our family. It was a hot day and he made it manageable. The lunch break was a perfect time to rest and eat some great food. Our family had a great time. Thanks Yoshi!!!
Hi Daniel. Thank you very much for your kind review. I am very pleased to learn that you enjoyed the tour a lot. The lotus flowers at Ryoan-ji Temple and the moss-covered slopes of Jojako-ji Temple were so beautiful after a week of rain, weren't they? I hope to see your family again during the cherry-blossom or autumn foliage season in the ancient capital of Japan. With warmest regards, Yoshie
Wonderful guide. Very physically fit. Excellently knowledgeable. Kindness overload. Loves his job so much that everything he does becomes personal. Places gone to were a balance for kids and adults, perfect for our group. Indeed he made our First trip to Kyoto memorable.
Hi Irene-san. Thank you very much for so quick a reveiw with many kind words of grititude. I am pleased to leran that both adults and children were satisfied with the tour in Kyoto. I hope you will return home safely with lots of good memories and souvenirs. Next time you come to Kansai region, be sure to get in touch. With warmest regards, Uncle Yoshie
Our two families really enjoyed our experience with tour guide Yoshihisa! He was really accommodating with our requests and was extremely knowledgeable with all of the sights we visited. We are all from california and very limited in the japanese language but Yoshihisa had no problem communicating and explaining to us all. Yoshihisa even helped us with arranging our luggage transfer from Kyoto to Tokyo. He came and translated for us at the local 7 Eleven! This way we wouldn't have to lug around our larger suitcases on our trip to Tokyo.
Hi Ted. It is a great honor to have such a superb review. I am also pleased to have guided you all around in Kyoto with the cooperation and understanding of our driver, Miya-san. The tour went more smoothly than I had expected. I hope you will continue a pleasant trip and return home with lots of nice memories and souvenirs. Next time you visit Kansai region, be sure to get in touch. Thank you. Yoshie
We took the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto for a one day tour and Yoshi conveniently met us at the station to begin our tour. We had a group of 9 with ages ranging from 15-50+. Yoshi did an excellent job of keeping everyone interested and we moved at a great pace. Any questions we had, he answered with ease. He was very accommodating and warm. I wish we had more time in Japan, as we would definitely spend it in Kyoto. It is a beautiful, peaceful area. We will no doubt plan a trip back and contact Yoshi to show us around again.
Hi Isabel. Thank you very much for your kind words of gratitude. I also enjoyed myself guiding your group around in Kyoto. It was cloudy and rainy that day, but I was glad that many of you were attracted by the beautiful scenery of moss-covered slopes of Jojako-ji Temple, Arashiyama and the view seen from the top of Mt. Ogurayama. I sincerely hope you will get in touch with me next time you visit Kansai region. With warmest regards, Yoshie
Yoshi is a very knowledgeable guide with a good sense of humor. He guided us perfectly thru the many sights of Kyoto. We learned a lot and had a great day.
Hi Ralf. Thank you for your nice review. I had lots of fun guiding you around in Kyoto. I wish I could have dined with you at an izakaya restaurant near Fushimi Inari Grand Shrine. My wife is also a shogun and I understand how you feel. I hope you will continue a pleasant trip in Japan and bring back a nice memory to Germany. With warmest regards, Yoshie
Yoshie was fantastic. Thorough knowledge of Kyoto and nearby areas. Took us to all the important spots and some lesser known as well. Very flexible when we wanted to change the plan. Excellent English. Would highly recommend.
HI Ken. Thank you very much for your kind review. I had a very precious experience, guiding you around in Kyoto, especially in Gion. I hope that Linda will find a nice ceramic vase while you are in Japan. Please get in touch with me next time you come to Kansai region. With best regards, Yoshie
Yoshihisa is an impressive tour guide, Knowledgeable and super attentive. Highly recommended for private tours. If you are looking for an experienced guide, who is fluent in English, sticks to the itinerary (and more), then you MUST try Yoshie's private Kyoto tour. You will not be disappointed. 10 stars from me!! Great Job!
Hi Christopher. It is a great honor to me to have such a nice review. I am very pleased to learn that your aunt enjoyed my tour, My Favorite Golden Route. I also had lots of fun guiding your aunt around in Kyoto. Let me know when she comes to Japan again, please. I am looking forward to seeing her someday soon. With best regards, Yoshie
Yoshi was a great guide, we had a wonderful day touring old Kyoto with him. He was extremely knowledgeable, polite, friendly and helpful. We saw so many amazing places and learnt a lot. We thoroughly recommend him.
HI Susan. Thank you so much for your heart-warming review. I also had a great time guiding your family around. I am pleased that your family, especially Paul, liked Ryoan-ji and Kennin-ji Temples. Next time you come to Japan for the Rugby World Cup, be sure to get in touch. With warmest regards.
Yoshi is a very good guide. We booked an extra hour and were able to see a few more places beyond his base 'favorite golden tour'. He gave us a lesson in Haiku history during our tour and showed us the places where it actually happened. If we had tried to find our own way around, we would not have seen 1/3 of what we did. Plus we would not have met a very kind person. Thank you for everything, Yoshi.
Hi Don. Thank you very much for your heart-warming review. It is a great honor to me to have such a kind comment. I am awfully pleased to learn that you enjoyed My Favorite Golden Tour a lot. I need to learn more interesting haiku poems which are suitable to each season of your tour, because we Japanese have been very sensitive to even a subtle change of season from the long past. Please get in touch with me next time you visit Kansai region. Best wishes, Yoshie
Yoshie has a very fluent english, reply our email in an instant, very prompt in schedule, and accomodate our want to go places/itinerary very well. Yoshie guided Our group of 10 people were mostly elderly, through Kyoto and Kobe, with patience and were willing to be flexible when needed. Unfortunately our bus broke down in Kyoto but he managed to arrange alternarive train and got us home safely and smoothly. Yoshie has a very good knowledge of the famous cultural places we visited, and we are satisfied with the explanation and information he gave us regarding Japan and its cities uniqueness.
Hi Anton. Thank you for your nice review. It was a big pity that our bus broke down toward the end of our tour. It seemd to me that they, especially the ladies, wanted more time for shopping at Motomachi Shopping Mall and Nishiki Market. I hope you will continue a pleasnt trip and return home safely. Please give my best regards to all your family. Best wishes, Yoshie
3 of us spent a 1/2 day with Yoshi and it was a great time! We chose to go to the bamboo forest, monkey park, and then a secret shrine that he selected which was my favorite on my trip to Japan. It was atop a mountain that was moss covered and just absolutely beautiful surroundings. Yoshi kept up a quick pace which was perfect for us, and we really were able to see a lot of things in the 5 hours we were with him. He had it all planned out and yet was sensitive to the things we wanted to slow down for. He is easy to understand and gracious and a delight. I highly recommend him as your guide.
Hi Sandra. It was a great delight to me, too, guiding you around in Arashiyama. I am pleased to learn that you loved my favorite temple standing on a moss-covered slope. Next time you come to Kyoto in the autumn foliage season, let me show you the amazingly colorful world of Arashiyama, spending a whole day. I hope you will return home safely ( Remember the frogs at Tenryuji Temple?). Let's keep in touch. Kind regards, Yoshie
Yoshie guided me for a full day to some of Kyotos important sites. I only wish I could of spent even more days with him as he is most knowledgeable about topics like history, culture, art, poetry, landscape, Japanese religion, and more. Yoshie came very prepared to describe what I was visiting. He also took me to different city viewpoints that his physical fitness allowed us to get to. Most importantly Yoshie looked out for all my needs the day I spent with him, even helping me purchase train tickets to an out of the way destinations. You will be very happy you spent time with this most interesting person, as guides do not come better than Yoshie!
Hi Geoff. I am very honored to have such a supreme review. I also wish I chould have spent more days with you, guiding you around other places in Kansai region. Thank you very much for listening to me attentively and asking me proper questions. Your earnest attitude helped me talk more about each site we visited. I hope to see you someday soon. Let's keep in touch. With best wishes, Yoshie
Traveling to a foreign country for the first time is challenging, no matter how seasoned of a traveler is. The language, the climate, and simply navigating your way around can be daunting. Even with the best planning, unless you have lot's of time to spare and don't mind getting lost. Plus the fact that there are simply details of where to go and HOW to get there is usually best left to someone local. This is why for our first trip to Japan, we choose to bring on a local tour guide. Not saying you couldn't find one from a blog or craigslist, we just felt better and secure knowing what we were getting upfront. Yoshihisa (or Yoshi), as he preferred to be called, was an incredible asset and local tour guide for our time in Kyoto. We scheduled for a full day in Kyoto and didn't want to ... read more
Hi Anna. I really appreciate your long and accurate observation about tours in general and my guiding. I sometimes feel embarassed at what I say and do during my tours, being observed so closely and precisely. Your review has given me a precious chance of looking back on my ways of guiding. Thank you so much!! I hope you will visit Kyoto again in late autumn, the season of colored leaves. With best wishes, Yoshie
We took the Golden tour of Kyoto with Yoshie and it was amazing. We were traveling with our 7 and 8 year old children and my son had hurt his foot and was using a wheelchair. It was challenging but yoshie was patient and we saw everything. We walked 7 miles that day and took many trains but it was worth it. Every single site was fantastic and we learned so much from Yoshie. We also went to the Monkey Park in Arashiyama. The climb was steep but it was worth it . The kids loved feeding the monkeys. If you like a more relaxed pace then you can talk to Yoshie about maybe skipping something. I would t skip any sites because they were all great but it really was a lot of walking and we were exhausted by the end of the day. Yoshie made the whole trip run smoothly and there is no way we would ha... read more
Hi Vicki. Thank you so much for your wonderful review. It was a long and tiring day but I am gald that you and your family enjoyed the tour a lot. Especially I am pleased to learn your two kids loved feeding monkeys there. In addition, you were lucky you were able to see some cherry blossom in Ryoan-ji and Tenryu-ji Temples on the day of your tour. I hope to see your children again when they grow older. Best regards, Yoshie
We saw a week's worth of sights in one day touring with Yoshie! He prepared an incredible itinerary, and we really got to see all the highlights of Kyoto. He's a great communicator and incredibly knowledgeable about the sights and the surrounding areas. Highly recommended!
Hi Joe. I really appreciate your kind words of review. I also enjoyed sharing the history, nature and culture of Kyoto with your family. Your children and relatives were so attentive to my guiding that I felt very pleased and happy. Be sure to get in touch next time you visit Kansai area. Best wishes, Yoshie
Yoshie-san was friendly and warm. My family really enjoyed his company and guidance. He took us to quaint restaurants, something that we appreciated and not the usual touristy restaurants. He is knowledgeable and has a good command of English. We really look forward to meeting him again in the near future!
Hi Serene-san. Thank you for your kind review. I also had a great time being with your nice family during the two days in Nara, Kobe and Kyoto. Looking forward to seeing you someday soon. Yoshie
We had a great November 23 tour with Yoshie. His breadth of knowledge about the sites really enhanced our appreciation of what we were seeing. Yoshie is a very personable, friendly chap who clearly enjoys people and explaining Japanese history and culture. The primary reason for our trip to Japan this time was to see the autumn colours, and we were definitely not disappointed. We strongly recommend Yoshie as your guide!
Hi Larry. I really appreciate your heartwarming review. It was so nice to share the excellent autumn scenery of Isuien Garden, Nara and the illuminated night view of Shoren-in Garden, Kyoto with you and Pla. The experience of watching puppet shows at National Bunraku Theater, Osaka, on a different day was a rare, precious and amazing one to me, too. Thank you for that, Larry. Next time you visit Kansai area, be sure to get in touch, please. Best regards, Yoshie.
Mr Yoshihisa was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, showing us the local sights in Shinsekai and Dotombori, as well as introducing us to eateries that we probably would not have known to go to on our own. Unfortunately, we had recklessly stuffed ourselves at Kuromon Market just shortly before the tour, and so were too full to eat much, but what we did eat was delicious. Great evening out!
Hi Stephanie. Thank you so much for your nice review. I also had a fun time guiding you around Minami area. As you said, I wish you had not eaten at Kuromon Market before the tour. I hope you will continue a pleasant trip in Japan and return home safely. The best wishes. Yoshie
Thanks so much for the very informative trip despite the rain, my family enjoyed the tour. Thanks so much for the amazing lunch place you brought us and the view and tips.
Hi Karen. Thank you very much for your review. I wish it had been a fine day. I am pleased to learn that you enjoyed the yakitori lunch and the autumn foliage of Arashiyama. I hope to see you again when your baby grow older. Yoshie
We spent eight hours touring with Yoshie and it was the best day we spent in Kyoto. He speaks English very well and was extremely knowledgeable about all of the places we visited. It was a real pleasure spending the day with him.
Hi Bill. Thank you very much for your wonderful review. I also had a very nice time with you and Joe in Kyoto. I hope you will continue an excellent tour in Japan and return home safely, ( frog at Tenryu-ji Temple garden, remember? ) . Looking forward to seeing you again. Best wishes, Yoshie
My husband and I booked Yoshihisa for private tours for 3 and 1/2 days. We did a walking night and dinner tour in Osaka going to places we never could have tried without him. The next several days we saw Nara, Kobe, and Kyoto. We did a lot of walking and saw Temples, Shrines, parks, gardens, food districts, shopping districts, and a harbor. Some places we wanted. Some places he suggested. It was a wonderful tour. Yoshihisa was very prepared and gave us history or background information on all the sites we visited. It was so nice to have Yoshihisa navigate the subways, trains, and streets. And lastly, Yoshihisa was a very nice person to be with for 4 days. I definitely recommend him.
Hi Connie. Thank you for your wonderful review. I hope you have regained your energy after a few days' rest at home. I also had lots of fun time with you two. I am very pleased too that you had verious kinds of experiences at temples, shrines, scenic places, shopping streets, restaurants and bars in Osaka, Nara, Kobe and Kyoto. Each of the four cities has its own history, culture, tradition and locality, which makes me a great lover of Kansai area. It was very lucky that we were blessed with fair weather for four days. Please get in touch with me next time you or your family visit Kansai area. Best wishes. Yoshie
Yoshie was an excellent and well-informed guide who made the most of our half-day tour of Kyoto. Each stop along our way was amazing, and Yoshie made them even more interesting with his knowledge of the places. He even made time to finish his itinerary well after our time was up, and I only wish we had booked a full day. Thanks, Yoshie!
Hi Andrew. Thank you for your heart-warming review and gift to me and my wife. I also had a nice time being with you two. Did you enjoy the rest of the day in Gion? I hope you liked both of the places. If you have another chance of visiting Kansai area, be sure to get in touch directly, please. Best wishes. Yoshie
Yoshihisa is an excellent tour guide for he's very helpful, honest, friendly and knowledgeable about the places that he took us to. He also communicated well with me during the booking and before the tour. Our group really enjoyed this tour with him being our guide. I would definitely recommend him.
Hi Thanh. Thank you very much for your nice review. I am pleased to learn that you have returned home safely. My wife will be glad to receive your kind words of gratitude for the origami. Looking forward to seeing you again. Yoshie
Yoshihisa is an excellent guide that we enjoyed being with.
Hi Peter. Thank you for your review. It was a pity that you could'nt see much of Osaka. Did your wife get well and return home comfotably? Next time you visit Kansai area, be sure to get in touch. Best regards. Yoshie
It was a great tour, moving from one place to another in short periods of time allowed us to enjoy every single one. Yoshie is a terrific guide, he is friendly, warm and enjoys what he does. He proudly embraces his culture and tradition which makes the tour be filled with local details. He knows the best spots for pictures, contemplation and gracious stories about each place. I highly recommend booking any of his tours, in Kansai area!
Hi Erika. Thank you so much for your awesome review. I am pleased to learn that you enjoyed every minute of the tour yesterday. I also had a very happy time being with your family, kind, considerate and understanding. I hope you will return home safely with lots of nice souvenirs and pleasnt memories. Best regards. Yoshie
Yoshihisa was very good to talk English with, and was very good at pointing out historically and cultural important things and being accurate. He was excellent at designing an active tour per our request, coordinating with us ahead of time, and planning down to the minute for optimal transport and crowds. He also was very good at adapting the tour to how much interest we had, and changing priorities as we ran out of energy, weather change or got side-tracked.
Hi Matthew. Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I am very much pleased to learn that you enjoyed the tour in Kyoto with me. You went to the same sushi bar the next day, didn't you! I, too, went there with my wife and mother after visiting our cemetery near JR Emmachi Station on the 25th. Be sure to get in touch with me next time you visit Kansai area.
We had the good fortune to connect with Yoshi. He was warm, friendly and truly engaged in tailoring our experience to what we were interested in. His English skills were superb. His knowledge extensive and he has a passion to learn more. Definitely a good choice.
Hi Ed. Thank you so much for your wonderful review. Before the tour I was a bit worried if I could meet your needs because you had wanted to visit sites that most tourists do not visit. I am now relieved to read your message. The visit to Horyu-ji Temple was a precious experience to me, too. I hope you and your family will return home with lots of nice memories. Yoshie
We had an A-1 experience with Yoshi. He met us at the Nara station and immediately began the tour. We visited the agreed sites, Todaiji temple, Iesuyen Garden and the Nara Deer Park (easily the highlight for my family!) But he also went out of his way in explaining the various elements of the temples we visited and took us around the old Nara town and marketplace. What I especially enjoyed was our trip to a sake store for sake tasting, but as he found out we were enjoying, offered to even take us to his own favorite sake hangout at the Kintetsu line station, where we lingered, met up with other customers, who in turn took us to their favorite bars! What a great treat for all of us to experience the local drinking culture and all past the agreed time! Not only that, but Yoshi i... read more
Hi Edgar. Thank you so much for your fantastic review! I'm really happy to learn than all of your family enjoyed the Nara tour and izakaya and pub experiences talking with other customers standing close to us. Nomyunication ( drinking communication ) with strangers sometimes happens to me and my guests especially in Osaka, Nara and Kyoto. That is a very important part of traveling pleasure. I hope the good encounter with your family will long linger on like the sound of a temple bell. Best wishes. Yoshie
Yoshie-san gave us a day tour of major sights in Kyoto. We were able to see Kinkaku-ji, Ryoan-ji, Ninnaji, Jojako-ji, Bamboo Forest and Nonomiya Shrine, Tenryu-ji, Fushimi Inari Grand Shrine with a thousand tori gates, and end the day with a great Izakaya experience! We couldn't have done it without Yoshie-san's guidance. He also oriented us to the city so that we were able to navigate it by ourselves for the next couple of days and visit other sites at our leisure. Thank you Yoshie-san!
Hi Sunil. Thank you so much for the kind review. I also had a wonderful time with you and your family in Kyoto. Hiro-san at the izakaya restaurant seemed very pleased to have your familiy in his restaurant, too. I'll surely tell him your great impression about the izakaya. Be sure to get in touch with me next time you visit Japan again. Yoshie
Yoshie was absolutely fantastic. He was very nice and accommodating, and helped specialize the tour and sites to meet our individual wants/desires. Yoshie was very informative and provided insight to details that we would not have noticed without him. It was a pleasure to spend the day with Yoshie and we would recommend him to anyone visiting Kyoto.
Hi Kevin. I do not know how to thank you for your wonderful comment. It was a big delight to me too to be and talk with you and your wife. You gave me a nice opportunity to visit Okochi Sanso villa and stroll in the beatiful garden. I really appreciated the new experience there. Next time you visit Japan, be sure to get in touch with me. Best wishes. Yoshie
Yoshi was wonderful showing us around Nara on a very hot day. Very knowledgeable. Lovely day. Would strongly recommend him. Traveler's tip: because it was so hot, we took a taxi twice while in Nara. Each time under 1000 yen so very much worth having the air conditioned ride as a quick rest!
Hi Karen. Thank you so much for your nice review. I was impressed by your attitude toward your daughters. You tried to make good use of the limited time in Nara, thinking of their happy hours with many deer in the park. I was also pleased to see them having lots of fun in the park. I hope you will return home safely. Yoshie
We only had one day in Kyoto so we asked Yoshi to move quickly through the city and still see all the sites and that he did. We saw everything that we wanted to see but never felt rushed. Yoshi was great- we recommend him!
Hi Jordan. Thank you for your kind review. I am glad that you had a nice time visiting all the tourist attractions you wanted to see in Kyoto. We were lucky that the taxi driver happened to tell us a vegetarian restaurant in Arashiyama. Be sure to contact me next time you visit Kansai area. Best wishes. Yoshie
We spent a wonderful day in Kyoto chiefly thanks to our knowledgeable guide. He met us At our hotel in Osaka and guided us through the public transportation. While we had several sites we wanted to see, we also took a couple of suggestions from our guide, Yoshie. Two musts for us were the bamboo forests and Fushii Inari Grand Shrine. we visited several other shrines and a monkey park. Yoshie suggested where to eat lunch and stayed with us through dinner and both restaurant suggestions were excellent. We were visiting from San Diego and would highly recommend Triplelighs and Yoshihisa as a guide. They in regular contact with us as our trip neared. We were thoroughly satisfied.
Hi Tom. Thank you for your nice review. I also had a great time with you and Jeri in Kyoto. It was a bit tiring to climb Mt. Iwatayama to visit the monkey park. That was the first time in more than 30 years to see monkeys there but it was lots of fun to feed some monkeys thanks to you. Please contact me next time you visit Kansai area. Yoshie
We had a lovely time touring with Yoshie-san along the shrines and temples of Kyoto. Yoshie-san is very informative with every places we've visited. At the end of the tour, we ate in an izakaya place. Being a tour guide is a tiring and challenging job, but Yoshie-san told me that it is a fulfilling one as he gets to meet other people and tell them about Kyoto's vibrant history. My friends and I wish to return the favor of touring Yoshie-san and his wife should he visit the Philippines someday!
Hi, Lois. Thank you very much for your nice review. I am glad that you and your friends had a wonderful time at the temples, the shrines and the izakaya in Fushimi. The pleasant memory with you in Kyoto will long linger on like the sound of a temple bell, I believe. I'd like to see you in the Philippines someday. Yoshie
Yoshie was our tour guide in Kobe for a day and a half. From the start, communication was excellent and he was able to come up with an acceptable itinerary for our diverse party of six. He is quite flexible and was able to arrange everything we wanted to see. When we arrived in Kobe on a cruise ship, the immigration process was delayed and we were not able to reach the starting point until over an hour later, but Yoshie was still there waiting patiently for us. We were able to visit Ijinkan, had a fantastic traditional Japanese lunch in Arima which was beyond our expectations, took a ropeway to Mt. Rokko, rode a cable car down the mountain, visited Nankinmachi (Chinatown), and Harborland. Thank you for showing us Kobe!
Hi Colleen. Thank you so much for your nice review. It was a pity that you could not join in the tour next day. But I am really pleased all of you enjoyed every minute of the tour in Kobe, Arima and Rokko. It was a new discovery to find such a nice Japanese restaurant in Arima. I would like to take some friends to the restaurant again someday soon. Thank you, Colleen. Give my best regards to your group members. Yoshie
My family had a beautiful & interesting day in Osaka with Yoshie. Yoshie is a knowledgeable guide and accompanied us to all the places & spots that we wanted to see in Osaka & we also had a very delicious lunch in a famous Kushikatsu restaurant. Thank you for a beautiful day tour in Osaka Yoshie. We wish you all the best.
Hi, Lady. Thank you for your nice review. I am glad that the double-flowered cherry trees at Japan Mint Garden were still in full blossom. I'm also pleased to learn that you enjoyed having the kushikatsu lunch at Yaekatsu in Shin-Sekai. I'm looking forward to seeing you and your family again. Yoshie
Our favorite ninja, Yoshie, provided an excellent two day guided tour experience. We wanted to see as much as possible in a short time without feeling rushed. Yoshie was able to accomplish just that, and we will forever appreciate his efforts.
Hi, Andrea. Thank you very much for your quick and nice review. I really had an enjoyable time with you and Suzanne for two days. I was pleased that two of you asked me lots of questions about each and every place we visited. Your suggestion of visiting the main hall of Ninnaji Temple instead of the chrry-blossom garden proved to be very informative to me. Thank you again. I hope the good memory will linger on like the sound of a temple bell for both of us. Yoshie
The best guide anyone can ever ask for! He was very kind and wanted to share with us as much information as he possibly can for us to get the broader picture.. we really enjoyed our time with him and would recommend him to anyone that really wants to get the Nara experience.
Hi, Noura. Thank you for your nice review. It was the first time to guide a group of young ladies from Saudi Arabia and I was a bit hesitant about how to deal with you. But soon I realized I should behave as I do with other foreign tourists. Noura, you were so curious about our history and culture that I had lots of fun talking to you. I wished you could stay longer in Nara and see some more places to visit. Please get in touch with me next time you visit Kyoto. Best wishes. Yoshihisa
Upon meeting Yoshihisa presented us two beautiful origami cranes his wife made the night before and his card with a poem. Immediately we were taken back by the gift and warm welcome as gesture of friendship and peace. How nice. We then started our day in Kyoto with sights of temples, shrines and Sakura to see. In between our travel on subways and walking around we learned a few things about Yoshi. He is knowledgeable of many areas which made our sightseeing more informative. He knows a great deal with shrines and temples. He is actually a funny man although you would see otherwise by his professional and serious demeanor. We actually laughed a lot and shared stories in our personal lives. Yoshi (as we called him) is well rounded and an enjoyable person to be with. At the ... read more
Hi, Susan. Thank you very much for your encouraging review. I really had a very pleasant time with you and Ron. I believe wherever he is, he surely makes people around him happy. It was a pity he had to go back to your hotel earlier becasue he was not in good condition. I hope the good memories will linger on like a temple bell. Looking forward to seeing you again. Yoshihisa
Yoshie was our guide when my family visited Osaka-Kyoto-Nara-Himeji in March 2017. We were a large group of ten, with ages ranging from 21 to 90, and probably tried to fit in too many sites in our short holiday because we might not get this chance again. We knew that having a guide was essential in visiting as many places as possible with maximum efficiency. In the face of these challenges, Yoshie was patient and flexible, and tried to accommodate our various needs and interests. He was indefatigable, never tiring during our long walks throughout the day, but adjusting to our pace. He was always well prepared, whether it was describing details of a temple or sharing the history of a shrine, bringing plastic sheets on the day we had scheduled a picnic lunch in Maruyama Park, or giving ... read more
Hello Danah and Nina. Thank you very much for your heartwarming review. It was a good experience to deal with many guests as yours, meeting various wishes here and there. I am pleased to know that you had a very nice time with me during the four day tour in Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Himeji. Looking forward to seeing you again in the future. Best regards. Yoshie
We cannot say enough wonderful things about Yoshi. There was a mix up about our meeting place and he waited 1/2 hour until we found each other! He's a delightful person, very knowledgeable and made our trip to Osaka a memorable one. Highly recommended him. Thank you Yoshi!
Hi, Karen. Thank you for your nice review. I am sorry I did not tell your our meeting place more clearly. I was very glad that you enjoyed eating takoyaki or octopus balls and okonomiyaki or Japanese style pancakes at the ground of Osaka Castle. I wished you had more time to stay in Osaka. Next time you visit Kansai, be sure to gen in touch. Thank you for everything. Yoshie
I took the Izakaya tour in Osaka with my mother on my last day in Japan. Yoshie was extremely welcoming and helped us get to know different sides of Osaka. We first visited Shinsekai, a very charming part of the city with an interesting history. I loved walking through the alleyways and discovering things such as shrines that I wouldn't think to see in the urban landscape. At the izakayas, Yoshie gave us great Japanese Sake recommendations and ordered a variety of adventurous pub foods while also accommodating my mom (she's a little picky). Everything was delicious. Aside from the food and drink, getting to experience life as a local is something that tourists rarely get to take part in was an invaluable piece of my Japan trip. We were able to socialize with people of all different ages an... read more
Hi, Leda. Thanks a lot for your heartwarming review . I am very pleased that you and your mother enjoyed the izakaya hopping tour, thanks to the staff of the three izakayas and customers sitting or standing next to us. With your encouraging words in mind, I'll try to find more good izakayas which would offer my guests invaluable experiences including delicious sake and foods. I hope you will come to Kyoto as well someday soon. Best regards. Yoshie
Mr Yoshihisa is humble, kind and enthusiastic. We have special request for this tour, he did a good job. We have enjoyable and fun time with him. Highly recommend for his excellent guiding.
Hi, Lorraine. Thank you for your nice review. The tour was very unique to me but I made a lot of discovery about Buddhism items thanks to you and your husband. Next time you come to Japan, I think I will be more prepared for time schdule. Looking forward to seeing you and your children someday soon. Yoshihisa
Yoshie is a fantastic ambassador for Nara. He planned an itinerary that took into consideration the activities that my family of five wished to do but also covered visits to Kofuku-ji Temple, Todai-ji Temple and Kasuga Grand Shrine. He has a wealth of knowledge of the history of Nara and made sure we understood what we were looking at. We had a wonderful day visiting these places of interest as well as feeding the deer in Nara Park. Yoshie is very patient as my adult children were fascinated by the deer and stopped regularly to feed or photograph them. So much so that after our delicious lunch I suggested that they stay with the deer and my husband and I continue the tour to the Grand Shrine. When I booked the tour initially I requested that we include a visit to the Wata-wata owl caf... read more
Hi, Lynn. I really appreciate your kind message. I also had a wonderful time with you and your family in Nara. I'm pleased that each of you had his or her own purpose for a visit to Nara and enjoyed themselves. Greg became a good friend of mine as i saw him drinking cold sake at the restaurant for lunch. We had a splented time at the sake brewery, tasting different types of sake fresh from barrels. I hope you will safely continue the rest of your trip in Japan and bring home lots of nice memories and souvenirs. Next time you come to Japan, be sure to get in touch with me, please. Yoshie
Yoshie was a wonderful tour guide. He helped me to preplan and flex our 3 day tour through email to meet the needs of my 23 year old daughter who wanted to see and learn about everything as well as my 83 year old mother. We saw so many temples and took beautiful pictures for great memories. We had a great time with many many laughs in the deer park feeding the deer! He also took us to great places to eat and a sake tasting. We went to bed every night talking about how much fun we had each day! At the end of our stay he even helped us get to the correct train track to continue our journey to Hakone! We have made a new friend in Yoshie. My family is very grateful for his hospitality. Arigato gozaimasu Yoshie San! Cathy, Casey, Yasuko and Jack
Thank you very much for your kind message. I am so glad to hear you all have enjoyed the tour with me in Kyoto and Nara for the past three days. My good memory with you will long linger on like a temple bell. I was really impressed at your careful consideration to your family. I hope you will have a nice trip in Hakone and have a good opportunity to see Mt. Fuji. Thank you for everything again. Yoshie
"Yoshie" was an excellent tour guide. He is very engaging and very personal. He added so much to our trip !!! His english is very good. He was very patient and understanding and connected with all the ages (16-56 yrs old) in our group. He went above and beyond to make our day very special and fit everything in we wanted to see. It was a very hot day and he was AMAZING helping us deal with the heat. We will look him up next time we are in Japan.
Hi, Kasey. I really appreciate your kind words of gratitude, I am very pleased to learn that you enjoyed every minute of your tour in Kyoto with me. I also had an excellent time with Pat, MP and you. I hope the good encounter with you all will linger on like the sound of a temple bell. Looking forward to seeing you at my house someday soon.
