Born and having spent most of my life in Kanazawa, I went into the export business for a major high-speed and automatic loom maker, where I worked for 38 years.
When I was a university student in Kyoto, I occasionally worked part time as an English speaking guide. I have guided foreign tourists in Japan especially in my hometown for over 13 years starting soon after my retirement.
I joined Kanazawa Good-will Guide Network in 2000 and had been its coordinator for six years from 2002, currently being its senior adviser.
Furthermore, I organized Kanazawa Home-visit Association in 2003 (HP: http://kanazawahomevisit.jimdo.com/) that has received over 8,000 visitors from overseas, among whom 1,900 enjoyed experiencing Japanese culture in my own home.
In 2012, I established, with my friends, Licensed Interpreter-guide Net Kanazawa (LINK) and currently I am its coordinator.
I am therefore very familiar with historical, cultural and industrial backgrounds of Kanazawa and its surrounding regions.
My hobby is golf and my current official golf handicap is 15.

It was perfect for my wishes I could write in advance and it was also possible to change spontaneous when needed that day. I spent a very nice day together with Fujio. Thanks! I recommend Fujio.
Dear Mariann, It was my great pleasure to have guided you in Kanazawa, and many thanks for your comments on the tour. I hope you have a wonderful trip. Best regards, Fujio
Fujio is an absolute delight. We had to change our booking due to travel issues- nothing was too much trouble.. Fujio is very knowledgeable and has superb English. He made our time in Kanazawa perfect. We highly recommend Fujio. We will be back to Kanazawa. We hope to meet Fujio again.
We spent 9am to 5pm with Fujio-san, who took us around various spots in Kanazawa for us who were the first-time visitors. We booked his time with two days in adnance. First he asked our interest and preferences and suggested the schedule. Fujio-san was very well networked and he seemed to know many people among the guides and in the historical sites which we visited. He was also very knowledeable about the culture and history of Kanazawa. We had a great time with him.
Hello Masue, It was really my grat pleasure to guide you around in Kanazawa the other day. I sincerely hope you fully enjoyed not only the beautiful autumn views but the historical and cultural attractions of Kanazawa through the Kanazawa full-day tour with me. Thank you very much. Fujio Nakagawa
Fujio reflects the unique blend of history, ritual and cultural of Japan. He is an engaging story teller about the city history. We enjoyed sharing his joy for the castle gardens and fall colors. He makes a special moment of tea drinking through his explanation of its ritual. If you want to understand the history with entertaining stories of Kanazawa, Fujio should be you guide.
