Kon-ni-chi-wa. Hello! I'm Kaori, having lived in Tokyo for 20 years since I got married with a photographer. I'm originally from Shizuoka prefecture which has Mt.Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan.
I took 2 working-holiday-visa stays in my younger days. One is in Toronto, Canada, and another is Australia touring by motorcycle. One year respectively.
I love travel both international and domestic, especially by motorcycle. That's why I love helping individual travelers rather than normal package tours, cause I ,myself, love travel freely.
I love nature, trekking, greenery, cycling and food.
I am a national government licensed guide. So I've got deep knowledge of Japanese culture and history. I really enjoy talking about Japanese way of life with people from different cultures. But I'm so flexible that I don't bother if you're not so interested in.
We see only what you want to see, and talk only what you want to talk about. That's my style. All what you want is my choice. If you don't know what to want, I can help you with that.
I'm outgoing,(but organized well), very easy to get along with anybody, including small kids to teenagers.
I can't wait to see you soon!

We had a 11 hr layover in Tokyo and Kaori did a wonderful job of laying out a short day of touring the city. We saw several sights and the had to go to the airport. It was ever nice trip.
Thank you for excellent review, Kevin-san. I'm glad I could help your layover in Tokyo. Although it was just a transfer, I'm happy you came to like Japan while we were strolling around some spots for permitted time. I'm so grateful you mentioned you might come back to Japan in the future. Waiting for the day of your coming back to Japan and having more time together for another explores! Thanks again for choosing me as your guide. Hugs and kisses, Kaori
Kaori was a wonderful guide. She had a great command of English and was able to accomodate all of our requests. The day ran very smoothly with Kaori guiding us through metro stations, across parks and gardens, around neighbourhoods, on a river cruise, to markets, to upper end shops, to view latest technology, to numerous monuments, buildings and lookout points and a stop to eat a yummy raw seafood lunch. This tour had it all. Thank you Kaori for your awesome tour and your ability to answer all our questions with a smile.
Thank you for your warmest review, Jude-san. It was such a fun day with you. As you already been through many parts of Japan including Kyoto, I tried to introduce more common, normal Japanese people's life here in Tokyo. It was also fun for me to listen to your questions you were having during your own time "what's this?" "What does it mean?". Sometimes it gives me new discovery of Japan. I also enjoyed talking about NZ and rugby games with each of you. You all are so sweet happy people to be with. Thank you for letting me share your time. It was really great to meet you. Keep enjoying rest of your stay! Hugs and kisses to all, Kaori
Kaori planned two fascinating and fun days for us-- one seeing the major sights of Tokyo and the other going to the sacred ponds and a lake near Mt Fuji. She was attentive to detail, flexible in meeting our needs ( one of us was having trouble with climbing stairs) and went out of her way to help us make arrangements for activities and travel on subsequent days. She told us how to get one act Kabuk tickets and mapped out in detail how we could catch the bullet train to Kyoto. We loved her choices of restaurants in both places and loved hearing stories from her about Japanese history and culture and some about her own life as well.
Thank you for the warmest comment on me, Judith-san. I'm relieved it seems you got to Kyoto safely by Shinkansen! Thank you for taking time to write a review during your holidays. It was great pleasure to have 2 days with you and Lori-san. Especially Taiko drum museum and the day in Mt.Fuji were unforgettable. I found you two are such sweet people who always care and help each other. I was moved by your beautifulness and felt happy to get opportunity to meet you both. Glad you enjoyed Kabuki play and doll museum instead of ropeway. Looking forward to seeing you again and maybe your friends and relatives! Take care. Hugs and kisses, Kaori
I can't recommend the tour of Western Tokyo highly enough. Extremely flexible, interactive, informative, and accommidating. You'll feel like an old soul after this tour.
Thank you for such honorable words on my tour, David-san. Each word encourages me a lot as a tour guide. I also enjoyed talking about a lot things about both cultures and counties with you, and learnt a lot from you during the tour. Thank you for letting me share your time, your knowledge and thoughts. It was great pleasure to meet you. Also it was good you walked so fine that we could do much more things than usual for Western highlights! Keep enjoying your stay in Tokyo. Hugs and kisses, Kaori
Kaori san was at the hotel even before we checked in and dropped us back at the hotel knowing it was the evening rush hour , going out of her way to make things very pleasant for us. She took us through the tour explaining sites culture and tradition of the Japanese society. Wonderful experience.
Thank you for giving the warmest comment, Dilip-san. I'm happy if I could make your family's first day of Japan pleasant one. I tried to explain everything you'll see during your travel to Kyoto as possible so as you can understand what you're seeing at the destination. I wish we could have more time! It’s great fortune we have one more day in Tokyo. I'm looking forward to listening to your travel stories and watching some beautiful photos. And thank you for wonderful presents you brought for me and kindness kept them in your backpack during the tour. Keep enjoying your time here. See you soon. Hugs and Kisses, Kaori
