We couldn't have asked for a better first day in Tokyo! Hiroki-san was gracious, funny, and was able to help us navigate the most confusing subway system we've ever seen! As first timers to Japan, it was very overwhelming trying to find what to do and how to travel there. By doing this tour, we not only traversed the city, but learned so many different things in the process! Hiroki-san was even able to customize our day based on preferences we provided. We never had to pull out a phone to navigate, got amazing pictures, and will cherish these memories forever!
Dear Audrey san, Thank you so much for choosing me as a tour guide on your first day in Japan and writing such a great review despite being busy getting ready for many things !! During the tour I really had a great time with you and your wonderful family, and yesterday was a day that leaves behind an enjoyable memory !! Also, your sincere attitude towards learning Japan really impressed me !! Thanks to the information for your preferences you gave me beforehand, I was able to customize your day smoothly. Thank you again, and please give my best regards to Josh-san and Ryan-san !! Sincerely, Hiroki
Hiroki-san is a very kind and knowledgeable individual. I had a superb time with him exploring the treasures of Tokyo. His command over Japan's history is just amazing. I would definitely recommend Hiroki-san to anyone who has a free day to explore Tokyo city.
Dear Rajeev-san, Thank you so much for choosing me as a tour guide on your last day in Japan and writing such a wonderful review on my tour despite being busy just before your flight !! Since my happiest moments are when I hear that my guests had a memorable time, your heartfelt review really inspired me !! Thank you again, and have a nice flight to Singapore !! Sincerely, Hiroki
lovely man very helpful
Dear Simone, Thank you very much for taking the"Tokyo custom booking" and giving me the excellent tour review!! Since the itinerary consisted of not only the destinations how to learn about Japanese history and tradition but also the experience of the contemporary Geek Culture, thanks to your honest request given me beforehand, I’m sure you’re able to fully enjoy the tour !! (Particularly, the Maid Cafe was so fun !?) Thank you again, ang hope to see you again !! Sincerely, Hiroki
Hiroki was extremely helpful and considerate. We did the iaido lesson, and I really enjoyed it.
Dear Aaron, Thank you very much for taking the "Iai-do experience tour to learn Samurai spirit" and giving me the excellent tour review!! Since the Iaido lesson includes not only how to cut a simulated target of a tatami roll with a real Japanese sword but also the appreciation of the museum piece Japanese sword and the Samurai Armours once possessed by highest ranking Samurai warriors called “Daimyo feudal lord” actually having those historic weapons in your hands, I’m sure you’re able to fully enjoy the lesson !! Thank you again, and please enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan!! Sincerely, Hiroki
Hiroki met us at our hotel and took us to Asakusa train station, we wanted to do a replica wax food workshop that required a guide to be with you, he arranged the booking for us and paid and organised anything, before the workshop he took us around the area and talked to us about the history and we also got to ask some of our burning questions we’d been dying to find the answer to during our trip in japan. He was lovely and insightful and knowledgeable, thank you so much Hiroki!!
Dear Freya, Thank you very much for taking my private tour of Walking around Asakusa with workshop and giving me such a wonderful review !! It’s just an hour walking tour in Asakusa near the workshop venue, but your questions to the point during the tour and the wonderful replica wax food making workshop made the tour meaningful and memorable one !! Needless to say, Asakusa is the one of the best destinations being able to give you enough satisfaction, moreover, your desired workshop was more than experiencing to make replica food !! I think experiencing the traditional replica food making method (Everyday ingredient of wax turned into life-like replica food such as “Tempura” after being dipped into the hot water by putting a little ingenuity !!)greatly helped you have a real experience o... read more
We spent a very busy, but enjoyable day with Hiroki. Before the day of our tour I corresponded with Hiroki and requested he focus on cultural highlights. Hiroki planned a full day and showed us many different areas of Tokyo. We traveled using the Tokyo's extensive subway system and he provided excellent commentary as we toured many different sites. Per our prior discussions Hiroki scheduled a special tea ceremony for us (at additional cost) which was a real highlight! He also did not miss a beat when we made a special request for lunch during the tour. It was a long day (my phone said more than 20,000 steps!), but most enjoyable. I highly recommend Hiroki as your Tokyo tour guide.
Dear Mark, Thank you very much for taking my tour and giving me such a wonderful review !! During the tour I really had a great time with you and your wonderful family, too !! Also, your son’s knowledge and sincere attitude towards Japanese language and culture really impressed me !! Honestly,it’s a bit difficult to squeeze in a tea ceremony satisfying you including your son on a day trip touring Tokyo’s highlights, but I’m so glad you fully enjoyed it !! It’s a simplified half an hour tea ceremony but, the special one performed in the authentic tea-ceremony room using antique tea bowls in the antique ceramic shop with a history of over 100 years seemed to give you full satisfaction. Thank you again, and please give my best regards to your family !! Sincerely, Hiroki read more
Hiroki was amazing, great translating, and very fun and nice guy to spend time with
Dear James, Thank you very much for taking the Iai-do experience tour to learn Samurai spirit and giving me such a wonderful review!! Since this tour includes not only how to cut a simulated target with a real Japanese sword but also the appreciation of the valuable antique Samurai sword and Samurai Armour once possessed by Daimyo feudal lord with actually having them in your hands, I’m sure you’re able to fully enjoy the tour !! Thank you again, and please enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan!! Sincerely, Hiroki
Had an amazing time. First class service and very knowledgeable of the history of Japan. Enjoyed the tour even with the rain.......
Dear James, Thank you very much for taking my private tour of Samurai Town & Narita-san Temple and giving me such a considerate review despite the tour in the bad weather !! While we had to unluckily skipp the last destination of the temple due to the rain getting heavier, it’s so good that we could visit not only the Samurai houses built in the early 19 century but also the private museum opens only a few days a week to appreciate the valuable antique Japanese swords from the early Edo Period owned by the museum. Thank you again, and please enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan !! Sincerely, Hiroki
We arrived in Tokyo Sunday morning 17 Nov 2019, and later spent a wonderful afternoon getting to know Tokyo with Hiroki-san. He is such a caring gentleman that eventhough he lives 1 hour by train from our lodging in Motoasakusa, he picked us up in front of our apartment because we had informed him this was our 1st visit to Tokyo and he did not want us to get lost. Then in Otemachi station on the way to the East Garden of the Imperial Palace, he carefully and patiently explained the what-which-and how to get around Tokyo using the Metro Subways. This lesson was highly valuable because it gave us the confidence to use the most economical but quite-confusing 😅 mode of transportaton in Tokyo. In the short time that afternoon, we visited the gardens of the Imperial Palace -a huge and beauti... read more
Dear Budi, Thank you so much for choosing me as a tour guide on your first day in Japan and giving me such a wonderful and heartfelt review !! I’m so glad to be of service to you !! (Since the mode of transportation in Tokyo including its facilities such as subway yard is quite confusing due to its repeated extension works, I considerably focused on the transportation orientation with careful preparation including the app for train info I made you download on the spot…) Also, I had a great time with you and your family because all of you listened all of my explanations carefully and gave me questions to the point despite of being tired just after your long flight. Moreover, it became a great memory for me that we had a early dinner talking about various topics!! Thank you again, and plea... read more
Hiroki was a terrific guide who led us around the Yanaka district showing us important sites (where the last Shogun is buried) and many famous temples. He was well prepared and informed us of much of Japan's history and in particular, this area of Tokyo. His english was great and his enthusiasm to teach and help us was fabulous. I would definitely recommend him.
Dear Susan, Thank you very much for joining my tour and giving me such a wonderful review !! I'm so glad that you fully enjoyed the nostalgic townscape of Yanaka district, one of the few towns escaped from being burnt-out ruins during World War Ⅱ. Definitely, please come back to Yanaka again especially in the springtime when Shidare cherry (drooping cherry) trees of ineffable beauty are beautifully blooming in these historic temples !! (Above all, Cherry blossoms blizzard in Zensho-An Temple you stopped by is really overwhelming!!) Thank you again, please give my best regards to your husband !! Sincerely, Hiroki
We had a great day with Hiroki. He picked us up and returned us to our hotel in Kanda. It was our first day in Japan and he gave us an excellent historical and cultural overview of the city. We saw interesting sights and he taught us about how to use the different transportation systems while exploring the city. We will be traveling in the country for a month so it was helpful to learn about food, religion, important words to know where to buy souvenirs for our family. Thank you for a wonderful tour day, Hiroki!
Dear Julie, Thank you very much for joining my tour of "selected destination in Tokyo to learn about Japanese History and Culture"!! Since the tour includes transportation orientation and its destinations are strictly selected and combined from the perspective of answering your simple but significant questions about Japan effectively, it came to be the most suitable tour for your 1st day in Japan !! And also, today's tour really turned into a meaningful one for me, because I learned a lot from your questions to the point!! Thank you again, and I hope your trip in Japan will be a memorable and wonderful experience for you. Sincerely, Hiroki
Hiroki was very generous with his time. He had a lot of knowldeg about he history as we asked many questions around japanese traditions
Dear Gerald , Thank you very much for joining my tour !! The duration of 2 hs quite seemed to be too short for the tour of YANESEN area, but I'm glad you seemed to have had a fun!! I had a great time with you, too !! Especially, your questions to the point activated my brain were so impressive for me !! Thank you again, and please enjoy the rest of your trip in Japan !! Best regards, Hiroki
Dear Agnieszka, Thank you very much for joining my tour between your international conferences in Japan and posting a nice review despite being busy at work !! Unfortunately, it's a day of unseasonable cold rain and poor visibility, so we had to end the tour skipping over a few highlights, but I'm a little relieved as you enjoyed in its own way. Thank you again, and please give my best regards to your colleagues !! Sincerely, Hiroki
Our experience with Hiroki was simply amazing. He is very knowledgeable about history of the area and patiently and clearly answered all our questions. But most importantly, he is extremely courteous, considerate, prompt and resourceful (we were traveling w/ of 2.5 year old who was a bit riotous at times:-) partly due to jetlag and travel -- but Hiroki was simple amazing in helping us throughout our tour, which involved a lot of walking). Would any day recommend his services to make your trip around the area joyous and memorable!
Dear Ajay, Thank you very much for choosing my tour for Narita Stopover !! It's considerably tight schedule for 5 hs stopover tour as we toured both Samurai town and Naritasan temple being a bit far apart from each other, but I'm so glad you had a memorable time. And also, I had a great time with you and your family including your cute son !! This time, it's only a few hours stay in Japan on the way back home, but please have Japan in your mind when you plan your travel next !! Thank you again, and please give my best regards to your wife and son !! Yours sincerely, Hiroki
Hiroki was a wonderful guide and his knowledge and enthusiasm made our tour most enjoyable. We would highly recommend Hiroki to anyone wanting a knowledgeable and friendly guide.
Dear Steve, Thank you very much for choosing my tour and giving me such a wonderful review!! I'm so happy to hear that you had a most enjoyable time as my happiest moments are when I hear my guests had a memorable time. Actually, I felt as if I passionately talked with my old friend about traditional Japanese culture such as religion, custom, and particularly traditional martial arts during the tour !! And also, thank you so much for giving me a great time. Please enjoy your trip in Kyoto !! Best regards, Hiroki
One of my favorite experiences of the entire trip. Our guide was extremely helpful and professional and the Iaido experience and master were unforgettable. I can't reccomend them both enough
Dear Robert, Thank you so much for choosing our Iaido experience and giving us such a wonderful review !! (Our happiest moments are when we hear that our guests had a memorable time.) And also, I and the Iaido master had a memorable time, too!! Because, your questions gave us during the master's explanation about displayed antique Samurai weapons let us know how you are deeply interested in Samurai culture !! Thank you again, and enjoy the rest of your days in Japan !! Best regards, Hiroki
Hiroki is friendly and very knowledgeable about the shogun history of the Imperial Palace. He provided us with a folder with the tour itinerary and historical photos (3 pages) that compared historical & current day locations. Maybe he needs to revise his tour so that the tourists can reach the main gate of the Imperial Palace quicker -- too much walking for most. Hiroki offered to take many photos for us throughout his tour. Boat cruise on the Sumida River was 40 minutes to Asakusa; we walked through Nakamise Street fairly quickly. It would be better to allow tourists 15-20 minutes of free time shopping on Nakamise Street.
Dear Clifford, Thank you very much for your great and helpful review for me and selecting me as a guide for your Tokyo tour to spend some precious time with your wife !! Thanks to your intellectual curiosity for Japanese culture, history and society etc., I could describe extensive informations for those and we could deepened our cultural exchange. Moreover, your highly suggestive review will improve my tour drastically !! Thank you again, and please give my best regards to your wife !! I'm waiting for both of you to come back to me in the future !! Yours sincerely, Hiroki
Hiroki was our guide for 1 day tour to Central Tokyo. We visited Imperial Palace, Ginza, Tsukiji Market Hamarikyu Gardens, waterbus cruise on Sumida River, Asakusa & Rysuseikan Dojo. We enjoyed our tour though it was a rainy day. Hiroki is a helpful guide. He gave us advice on how to travel from Narita airport to my hotel, how to come back from Disneyland & how to travel from hotel to Haneda airport. Thank you very much for your advice & help!
Dear Eileen, Thank you so much for taking my tour and writing a nice review despite of an unfavorable weather such a rainy day. We took many photos but was your camera alright ? We regret that Tokyo's weather has become so unpredictable lately.... Anyway, I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour !! Particularly,Rysuseikan Dojo, the last destination seemed to be impressive. Actually, the tour of the Samurai Martial Arts training hall is a newly added tour attraction, but I was so happy to be able to watch that you and your family were all impressed to see in front of your own eyes the authentic Samurai training and antique weapons. Thank you again, and please give my best regards to your husband and daughter !! Yours sincerely, Hiroki
We particularly enjoyed our visit to Asakusa and the Sensoji temple where Hiroki explained how the temple came to exist. His tip about the Pasimo subway card was a useful one for we have used it even after the tour. He kindly took us back to our hotel at the end of the day even though he must have been tired as our tour was on the hottest day of the year and was patient when we had to make an unexpected stop. Thank you Hiroki.
Dear Doreen, Thank you very much for such a wonderful review despite being the harsh weather !! I reflected and found that I should've increased a percentage of the indoor activities significantly. Thank you again, and please give my best regards to your family !! Yours sincerely, Hiroki
Hiroki San was our local guide in Tokyo for 2 Days. He was excellent and cheerful throughout. Our family of 5 visited many places with Hiroki over 2 days. He planned a personalized itinerary for us. The highlights of which were a personal visit to a Samurai Dojo (Ryuseikan) and Tsukiji Markets (excellent choice for a sushi lunch as well). We absolutely recommend Hiroki as an excellent guide for all things Tokyo.
Dear Lee-Ann, Thank you so much for giving me such a wonderful review !! My happiest moments are when I hear that my guests had a memorable time !! I and the Grand Master of the Samurai martial arts dojo had a memorable time, too !! Actually, the personal visit to the Dojo has just made a debut to make guests of various ages enjoy Samurai culture including warrior spirits easily after consulting it with the Grand Master. We're so moved by your family's(including 10 years boy)sincere attitude particularly during the Samurai swords appreciation lesson. I think it'd be unforgettable experience for them. And also, it's so wonderful memory for me to enjoy conversation with your cute and smart children !! Thank you again, and please give your family my best regards !! Yours sincerel... read more
We had a great afternoon with Hiroki who was very professional and very patient with us as our plane was delayed by 90 minutes so are meeting time was deferred. Hiroki adopted our initial brief to fit our revised timeframe. This started with an introduction to the extensive Metro system to buy tickets for us to use for the next three days. Our tour included the area around the old fish market and its many streets and stalls and an excellent sushi place for lunch. we also visited the Imperial Palace and Yanaka. Hiroki answered all our questions ( even the silly ones) and paced the tour to suit our walking speeds and the time even extended past the planned finishing time. Hiroki -Thanks for great afternoon from David and Margaret ( Australia).
Dear David, Thank you very much for giving me such a wonderful review !! I'm so glad to hear that the tour was a satisfying one including selected destinations and walking speed for you and your wife !! (Actually, I concerned about your physical conditions as it's just after 11 hs flight!!) And also, I really had a great time with nice couple , and it became really memorable tour for me !! Thank you again, and please give your wife my best regards. Yours sincerely, Hiroki
There is no question that Hiroki is one of the best private guides in Tokyo! He was on-time, courteous, friendly, knowledgable, and organized. Hiroki patiently entertained my questions about Japanese history, culture, religion, and cuisine. I have plans to return to Japan with my family and will make sure to request Hiroki as our guide. I am confident that you will not be disappointed spending a day with Hiroki.
Dear Stephen, Thank you very much for giving me such a wonderful review!! I really had a great time with you as your extensive questions to the point fullfilled my tour !! Thank you again, and I'm really looking forward to seeing you and your family !! Best regards, Hiroki
It was such a wonderful and memorable day spent with Hirokisan. Hirokisan is a fountain of knowledge, not just about samurais, but Japanese history in general. He taught us SO MUCH, from cemeteries to katanas to samurais to dry moats to the Jomon period, and everything in between. Hirokisan made our last day in Japan very special and he is a consummate professional from beginning to end. You have to book this tour, it is unforgettable. Hirokisan, we thank you so much!!!
Dear Maria, Thank you very for such a wonderful review !! My happiest moments are when I hear that my customers had a memorable time !! And also, I really had a memorable time with you and your husband. Especially, your unexpected but significant questions led me to realize many things related to cultural differences. (I also really enjoyed cultural exchange!!) Thank you again, and please give my best regards to your husband !! Hiroki
Hiroki was amazing. Our train in was delayed an hour but he was able to rearrange things so we could continue with our tour. He was s kind and very easy to understand. We had many tours and guides over our two week vacation but Hiroki was the best!!!! We hope to have him again in the future. He also brought us to and fro the event. He even went out of his way to bring back some items to the school that we had brought. He went out his way to help us and was so sincere.
Dear Kim, Thank you so much for such a wonderful review!! My happiest moments are when I hear that my customers had a memorable time!! I had a great time with you and your family too!! (Having conversations with all of you was really fun.) Thank you again, and please give my best regards to your family!! Hiroki
Hiroki was a very knowledgeable person and excellent translator!
Dear Michael, Thank you very much for posting wonderful review!! I really appreciate it. I'm so encouraged. I had a really great time with you and your team members, too!! And, your questions to the point activated my brain!!! Thank you again, and please give your team members my best regards. Hiroki
Had a great tour!! Hiroki was very pleasant. He arrived at my hotel promptly and we began our walking tour. He even brought itinerary on nice paper but unfortunately in my hurry to get to next tour (which he dropped me off ) I forgot. Would highly recommend for tour in Tokyo.
Dear Karen, Thank you very much for your wonderful review of my tour. Every time I describe about the historical background of the destination, you listened to me so carefully. That encouraged me a lot. Thank you very much. As for the itinerary on the beautiful Japanese paper (Washi), when I noticed that you left it in my bag, you had already departed for next tour. I'm so sorry to fail to hand you it. (It was supposed to make a Japanese souvenir!!) I hope you will come back here in the near future and enjoy Tokyo together again.(I'll keep it until then!!) Best Regards, Hiroki
Hiroki is very knowledgeable. Our tour was interesting and fun.
Dear Beth, Thank you very much for giving me such a wonderful review despite being so busy just before leaving Tokyo!! My happiest moments are when I hear that my customers had a memorable time. I had a great time with you, too!! I'm really looking forward to seeing you again!! Yours sincerely, Hiroki
The best 4 hour tour with a historian's perspective & a genuine love of his city. We had the absolutely best sushi lunch. Thank you.
Dear Kezia, Thank you so much for the words of praise!! It's an honor to be chosen as a guide in the crucial moment such as just 4 hours break during your important work and also, felt a lot of pressure to make your wishes come true. Therefore, I'm so happy to hear that you're highly pleased !! Thank you again, and please give your mother my best regards!! Hiroki
We booked a Tokoy tour with Hiroki based on one of his reviews we saw online. He helped us customize the itinerary to shop for Japanese knives at the old fish market, stop to watch a traditional Buddhist wedding at a temple we were visiting, and went out of his way to pick us up promptly at our ship at our request and shepherd us to our hotel before starting the tour. Hiroki speaks English very well, and was very considerate.
Dear Carol, Thank you very much for such a kind review despite being such a harsh weather condition especially on 2nd day!! (It's unusually hot weather for May!!) What counts more than anything is that I was of use to you !! Thank you again, and take care!! Best regards, Hiroki
We learned a great deal about Samurai weapons and armour in our half day experience. The knowledge and experience of everyone involved was superb and the opportunity for us was really unique and special. Thank you Hiroki!
Dear Meredith, Thank you very much for joining my tour and giving us such a wonderful review !! I and the Iai master had a impressive and great time too !! Since we're discussing over the lesson contents for the foreign tourists' better understanding of the SAMURAI culture all the time, your review greatly encourages us !! Thank you again, and please give my best regards to your husband !! Yours sincerely, Hiroki
I couldn't recommend Hiroki highly enough! He is very accommodating with tailoring your time together to fit all the things you want to see. We asked all sorts of questions and Hiroki was a wealth of knowledge and very charming. It was a pleasure to meet him and I will be sure book his services again!
Dear Joanne, Thank you very much for such a wonderful review!! My happiest moments are when I hear that my customers had a memorable time. I had a great time with you, too!! From visiting historic sites to the table talking and shopping, it's the most memorable tour for me!! I'm really looking forward to seeing you again!! Yours sincerely, Hiroki
Hiroki is a lovely and very accommodating guide. Sakura City is a location that is not frequented by international travellers, but that is unfortunate. Sakura City was a wonderful way to see Samurai houses, a bamboo forest and a fantastic, recently renovated museum. We thoroughly enjoyed our day, many thanks Hiroki!
Dear Glenda, Thank you very much for the nice review despite being unfavorable condition such as bad weather, slippery steep slopes, the partly closed Samurai houses for the occasion etc. I really enjoyed the conversation with you and your husband !!(Not only Japanese history and culture, but also social problems in Japan etc.) Please enjoy rest of days in Japan and if there's anything I can do to make your trip more memorable one, please don't hesitate to contact me !! Yours sincerely, Hiroki
Can’t begin to say what a fantastic day we had , punctual , friendly and explained out needs to the iaido master wonderfully
Dear Paul, Thank you very much for giving me such a wonderful review despite being busy just before leaving Japan!! I and the Iai master are so happy to hear that the Iai-do experience became memorable one for you and your family !! And also, your sincere attitude including the great son's genuine passion for Iai-do affected the master deeply!!! We hope you have another chance to come back to Japan and visit the dojo again. Yours sincerely, Hiroki
Hiroki was easy to talk to and was unfazed by our requests and questions. We followed the itinerary as described at time of purchase of services, but had to curtail due to my severe allergies. We asked questions about Tokyo and Japan that go beyond what is readily available on line and Hiroki answered these as well he could. For us the highlights included an excellent lunch at Tsukiji and the boat ride.
Dear Rema, Thank-you very much for the nice review!! Your extensive and sharp questions gave me during my tour greatly activated my brain!! It's just one day, but I felt to be smarter than before !! There's no wonder your son became a excellent scientist in Cambridge !! I felt greatly honored to receive such a good review from you!! I hope to see you and your son again!! Yours sincerely, Hiroki
Outstanding half day + with Hiroki. He was a great communicator during booking process and easy to locate on the day of the tour thanks to his instructions. His English is very good and we appreciated his passion for the history and beauty of Japan. Touring with Hiroki allowed us to maximize our time and see so much. We loved the giant Buddha and the peaceful bamboo garden temple. The city of Kamakura is a perfect side trip from Tokyo and you will enjoy your time with Hiroki!
Dear Jan, Thank you very much for such a wonderful review!! My happiest moments are when I hear that my customers had a memorable time during my tour!! And also, I had a memorable time with you and your friend. Please give my best regards to Amelia, too!! Hiroki
We really enjoyed our time with Hiroki, he kept us to his itinerary without rushing us. We had asked him to help us book our jr transfer from Tokyo so we knew where to go etc. As well as this, he booked a sushi lunch into the time along with subways, boat trip and shrines, and saw us safely back to our hotel. He was informative and open and gave us all the info we asked for and more. Thank you Hiroki 😁
Dear Tracie, Thank you very much for such a wonderful review!! I'm so happy to hear your satisfaction with my tour. And also, I had a great time with you and your husband !! Please give my best regards to your husband, too. Hiroki

Dinner, shopping, talking etc., everything was wonderful memory for me. Please come back to Japan again some day soon!! Thank you again and stay happy !! Hiroki
Hiroki was excellent. Despite the short notice, having booked him less a day before, he was able to create an itinerary that is beyond our expectation. He i s tour was very informative. He is sensitive to our needs, flexible, and sharp.
Dear Cecile, Thank you very much for giving me such a wonderful review!! I'm so happy to hear that the tour became memorable one for your family !! And also, I was able to learn so many things from you!! Thank you again and stay happy!!!! Hiroki
Hiroki was a fantastic guide. He helped us planned an amazing day of culture. We saw shrines, rented a kimono for the day, did a samurai sword lesson and demonstration, we saw Sakura inside the Imperial Palace gardens, and more in Ueno park. It was a very busy day, and Hiroki stayed with us and brought us back to the hotel even though we went over our tour time by an hour. And then returned later to give us some papers we had asked him to carry for us and we all forgot about. Hiroki was a fantastic guide who went above and beyond to give us the best day possible in Tokyo.
Dear Lia, Thank you very much for choosing my tour and giving me such a heartfelt review!! My happiest moments are when I hear that my customers had a memorable time. (I think the interaction with the locals in YANAKA including kind staffs in the Kimono shop or the Teahouse made your day more memorable one !!) And also, I had a memorable time with you and your good and polite son !! Please enjoy the rest of your days in Japan. I hope to see you and your son again.Thank you again and stay happy !! Hiroki
as above. recommend if you have interest in Japanese history and would like a more face to face / hands in approach for the samurai armor/weaponry and iaido/kobudo
Dear Paul, Thank you so much for giving Iai-do experience activity such a good recommendation !! The session with you was a wonderful one for me and the Iai-master too, because It's the first time for us to receive an expert of Ken-do, modern swordsmanship!!(You're the first participant who brought own Keiko-gi(training outfit)!!). I hope you enjoyed travelling Japan and got nice souvenirs. It was very nice to meet you. Thank you very much for choosing our Iai-do experience. Yours sincerely, Hiroki
Had a great day with Hiroki. His conversational English is good; his knowledge of the area and planning were excellent.
Dear Kirstin, Thank you very much for the wonderful review !! I'm so happy to hear you had a informative day as I created this tour from the perspective of answering guests' simple but significant questions about Japan effectively!! And also, I had a geat time with you today !! Please enjoy the rest of your trip in Japan. I'm looking forward to meeting you again!! Yours sincerely, Hiroki
Had a wonderful half day tour with Hiroki visiting the temples, shrines and Sakura. The old streets were often quiet and off the beaten track, full of character and nostalgia. Hiroki was patient, thorough and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
Dear Von, Thank you very much for the wonderful review!!I I had a geat time, too!! Particularly, your questions to the point are so impressive.(cf.Shintoism as polytheism etc.) I'm really looking forward to seeing you again!! Yours sincerely, Hiroki
This was a 3 1/2 hour tour split between interesting sights in Yanaka and a class in making Soba noodles. Our guide led us around and told us about this fascinating part of Tokyo. We got to see areas we wouldn't have thought to explore if we just went by ourselves and Hiroki had a wealth of knowledge about the local shops and shrines. After a good walk around, we arrived at the restaurant. It was just the 4 of us there, met by the restaurant chef and host. They were kind and patient and Hiroki was a great translator, helping us to get the most out of the experience. Making soba noodles was harder than it looked, but the chef was very encouraging and managed to salvage our efforts and with much encouragement the finished noodles were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and recommen... read more
Dear Freya, Thank you very much for the great review!! I'm so happy to hear that you and your family thoroughly enjoyed the tour of YANAKA and the cultural experience !! And also, I and the chef had a great and impressive time during the lesson. (Especially, your questions to the point gave us while the host explained the process of milling and shifting buckwheat berries were so impressive !!) Because, our happiest moments are when our guests enjoyed the lesson to learn about our unique food culture deeply. Thank you again and stay happy !! Hiroki
I was traveling with my two daughters ages 11 and 8. It was our first time in Tokyo and we wanted to experience more than than the touristic places which we could readily have access to ourselves. Hiroki was punctual and greeted us at our hotel at 9:00 AM. We proceeded to the Imperial Palace and surrounding grounds. He provided us with an insightful background. From there he took us to the famous Tsukiji fish market. He was familiar with the entire market and gave us a brief history. He guided us to the best knife makers so that we could buy quality Japanese made cutlery knives as well. We then had lunch at one of the genuine Japanese Sushi Restaurants where you would not find too many tourists by the name of Tsukiji Sushisay. After lunch we proceeded to a Lao-do/Samurai dojo tour.... read more
Matt san, Thank you very much for your detailed review as great as any despite being extremely busy !! I'm really happy to hear that you and your daughters had a great time !!(It makes me happier than anything else!!) And also, I had a great time with you and your daughters talking about not only the destinations but also many extensive topics !! (It's really perfect opportunity for me to exchange cultures, and I felt I became smarter after the tour😄 It's a memorable day for me!!) Thank you again, and I'm really looking forward to seeing you and your family !!!! Hiroki
Myself and my two boys (ages 10 & 11) spent the morning with Hiroki at the Samurai experience. He was incredibly kind and helpful. We had trouble navigating the metro system and so jumped in a taxi and Hiroki spoke to the driver on the phone and made sure we got to the right place. He translated the Samurai experience well and it has been the highlight of our trip to Tokyo so far. After the Samurai experience (which I would highly recommend - tweens and teens will love this!) we were heading to the snake cafe. By this time I was very anxious about navigating the rail system and Hiroki not only organised rail cards for us all but even accompanied us on the complicated underground rail system right to the door of the snake cafe to ensure we got there ok. Nothing was ever too much trouble and... read more
Dear Sarah san, thank you very much for your heartfelt review !! My happiest moments are when I hear that my customers had a memorable time. And also, I had a memorable time with you and your cute and polite sons !! Please enjoy the rest of your days in Japan. I hope to see you and your sons again.Thank you again and stay happy !!
Great time and very interesting. Both Hiroki and the Sensei were enthusiastic and patient. We attended as a family. Myself and two girls tried the lesson - successfully too - with a nice feeling of relief and achievement. Can recommend for sure.
Antony san, Thank you very much for your great review!! I'm really happy to hear that you and your family had a great time!! I and the Sensei had a great time, too!! Because, you and your daughters tried the sword testing(試し切りTameshigiri) with a focused mind to cut the rolled tatami upper layers successfully, and gave us many questions to the point during the viewing of the antique Samurai weapons exhibited in the Dojo. Moreover, all of you learned how to appreciate the beauty of the Wave-Patterns (刃文Hamon) on sword blades using the antique samurai sword to succeed in spotting the tiny martensite crystals forming the upper edge of the Hamon called Boiling(沸Nie)!! Thank you again, and please enjoy tne rest of your stay in Japan!!! Hiroki
I really enjoyed my experience with Hiroki-san! He was patient, knowledgeable and planned the route well. He was also flexible and had a good grasp of the area. He made adjustments for bad weather swiftly as well and I really learnt a great deal about Japan history and culture with him. He also offers reasonable rates and can come on short notice. I would definitely recommend him to my friends, family and all future tourists to Tokyo!
Darren san Thank you so much for your great review!! I had a really great time with you, too!! And,I'm so happy to hear your satisfaction!! Since we always do our best for your satisfaction, your great review really encourages us. Thank you again, and have a nice flight!! Hiroki
A TRULY MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE! Starting with a hotel pick up, walk to the train station to experience Japan’s amazingly complex and efficient metro train system which led us to a walk on a non-descript Tokyo street off the touristy track. The Iaido experience was more than wielding a historic and genuine katana against a tatami roll. Coming into this with an interest in history, military heritage, blades and forging, it was the 1-on-1 conversations with Sensei Sakaguchi that made it special. The highlight was to be able to touch swords, armour and other weaponry centuries old, including pre-Edo period pieces that had seen actual battle. Hiroko translated beautifully and also took some amazing photos. His passion, interest and pride in his heritage really came through. Memory for a lifetim... read more
Dear Christina san Thank you very much for your wonderful review !! I’m really happy to hear that it became a memory of your lifetime!! (Those words make me happier than anything else!!) Sensei Sakaguchi always considers how to tailor the most favorable experience to suit each participant’s own needs. That’s why this tour takes the form of a private session with a Sensei focusing on the 1-on-1 conversations with him.(In the case of your session, it’s particularly focused on the appreciation of Japanese swords such as examining of the shape of the blade, appreciating the beauty of the Wave-Patterns called Hamon, etc., since it seemed that you’re very much interested in Japanese swords.) So, I’m very much looking forward to seeing you when you visit Tokyo again. Thank you very much aga... read more
I booked Hiroki for an Iaido experience for my brother. Hiroki picked us up at a nearby Tokyo Metro station and took us to the dojo where we were introduced to the Iaido sensei. Hiroki was friendly, and extremely accommodating and translated both ways effortlessly. The experience was fantastic, I only watched and I enjoyed it thoroughly. My brother couldn't stop talking about it for the rest of his trip in Japan. The Iaido sensei is about a good at his craft as anyone can ever be. He teaches you how to use the katana to cut through a rolled mat in one cut, all the while Hiroki is translating to make sure there are no misunderstandings. Hiroki seemed very knowledgeable about the ancient Japanese martial art, and added thoroughly to the intrigue. Upon finishing the 1hr 30mins experience Hir... read more
James san Thank you very much for giving me such a wonderful review!! I'm so happy to hear that your brother had a really great time and it became memorable experience!! And also, it's a great experience for me and the Iaido master, Sakaguchi sensei. (He's so happy to hear your review, too) Thank you again, and I'm looking forward to seeing you someday!! Hiroki
My son and I spent a thoroughly enjoyable morning with Mr. Hiroki and the Headmaster of the dojo learning about iado and samurai armor. The Headmaster demonstrated several impressive kata and was a patient teacher. Mr. Hiroki did an excellent job of translating for us. If you are interested in a hands-on introduction to iado, I would recommend the experience.
Dear George-san, Thank you very much for writing such a good review of my translation and the Headmaster!! I'm really happy to hear that you and your son had a great time during the lesson!! And, such your deep appreciation of Headmaster’s sincere attitude to spare nothing for the spread of the Samurai Culture make me so happy too!! Actually, as he already sensed your appreciation during the lesson, he described about the old saying "Ken wa hito nari" (generally being translated as "The sword is in the man",in this case, meaning "Sword represents the bearer's mental aspect" as I translated) to mention about your intelligence!! That's why both the Headmaster and I had a great time too!! I hope you'll come back to Japan with your son someday!! Hiroki
Hiroki san helped me to do shopping for kyudo (Japanese bow) in Tokyo. As he was not a specialist, his own sister who knew better came to help. With them I found all what I was looking for. Hiroki san was really dedicated to help me. I had a very good time with him and his sister. I highly recommend him. Signed : Stéphane from France.
Thank you very much for the highly rated review!! My sister and I had a great time with authentic archer full with wonderful spirit like you!!(It's so impressive time for us to talk about the mental aspect of Japanese archery with you!!) It's an honor for me to help the top level Kyudo archer participating World Kyudo championships to purchase the special equipment and clothes for Kyudo archery!! As usual, I made an elaborate preparation taking as much time as I can for the entertainment of you from France all the way considering your precious time in Japan, however I didn't have a confidence to do well as it's first time for me to do this kind of thing. But, I'm so happy to hear your satisfaction!! Thank you again, my sister and I pray for the success of the world championships... read more
