Hi everyone! My name is Lisa.
Thank you very much for checking out my profile.
I am originally from Osaka, Japan, and completed my Bachelor’s Degree from Kyoto Prefecture University in architecture. During my stay in Kyoto I volunteered as a tour guide for foreign visitors.
After graduation I moved to Tokyo and worked in the marketing and promotions field. On weekends I continued to work as a tour guide volunteer in Tokyo.
I have also studied at the University of California, Irvine and worked for a tech company in Anaheim California. It was great oppotuniay for me to see Japan from foreigner's perspective.
My happiness for meeting new people and learning my own culture through guiding foreign visitors kept increasing and that made me decide to become a professional tour guide.
I offer tailor-made tours for individuals or groups. I have met a lot of wonderful people through tour guiding and look forward to the many more friends I will make.
My strength is the stock of Japan's historical and architectural knowledge, which I believe makes your Japan experience fun and interesting especially when you are visiting Japan's old capitals.
During my tour I will share with you historical contents of places or structures you are visiting so that you can understand the reason why you meet present Japan. I have friendly and mindful nature which will make your Japan experience greater!
Please feel free to message me if you have any question about your Japan trip!
Hope to see you soon in my tour.

My sister and I had a Kyoto tour with Lisa and she planned an excellent itinerary based on our interests. She took us to great temples and was thoroughly knowledgeable at each place. We also went to Nishiki Market and learned a lot from her about Japanese history, food and culture. We really enjoyed our time with Lisa throughout the day. My sister wasn’t feeling well and Lisa even made time to take us to and help at a pharmacy. She is an wonderful guide and very enjoyable to be around!
With just a few days before our trip to Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Kobe, I was exasperated over finalizing an itinerary considering the variety and number of must-see sites in the Kansai region. I knew I couldn’t cover them all with my family and needed help pritoritizing and planning the visits and the train and subway trips and, of course, the walking routes. A friend recommended that I search for and book a guide on-line and my search led me to Triple Lights and eventually to Lisa Watanabe. I booked her for our swing to Kyoto and Nara; one day per city. Lisa is an angel sent from heaven! Before the trip, she painstakingly and patiently coordinated with me in planning the itinerary. Because of the many options, I had to keep changing the itinerary and Lisa graciously accommodated all... read more
Lisa was an absolutely amazing tour guide for us! With limited time in Kyoto, she was able to arrange a schedule that included the main sights of Kyoto, Himeji Castle, and a tour of Nara. My mother's knees can give her trouble and so Lisa was very accommodating with our plans and went at a good pace for us. She really does do her best to develop a tour that is best for her specific customers needs and their interests. Lisa wants you to have a wonderful experience and the help and information she shares really shows that. She is intelligent, fun, informative, and friendly! We loved the time we spent with her and if we were ever fortunate enough to return to Japan, we would book her as a guide again in a heart beat! We really did feel like we now have a new friend because she was so wonderfu... read more
I only had 4 hours in Osaka before I had to catch my flight back to the U.S. and I'm so glad I made contact with Lisa. We developed an itinerary together and even though it drizzled a bit, she was so thorough and detailed, the light rain was not a bother. She helped me with my luggage and helped me buy a train ticket to the airport. Lisa is a wonderful guide. Thank you, Lisa
After visiting Tokyo, Nagoya and Takayama, we met Lisa for two days In Kyoto and Nara. Lisa is an outstanding, knowledgeable and a fun person to be with. Her expertise shines through, and as she previously lived in California, made her a joy to see the sights and sounds of Japan. We worked together on our itinerary prior to arrival, but she also was totally flexible after we met her for last minute changes and additions. We felt like we were locals by the time our trip with her as our guide ended. Lisa has a charming personality with a gift for being an outstanding guide. It was an excellent decision to choose Lisa as our guide, and she certainly has our highest recommendation.
