Hello, I am Keiko. I have a national qualification as a English-speaking guide. I was brought up in Kyoto, among a lot of old Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines.(ex. Kiyomizu Temple, Toji Temple, Yasaka Shrine, Heian Shrine, Fushimi Inari Shrine and so on) Some of them are now famous worldwide and on the UNESCO World Heritage List. From childhood, a daily sight with a lot of tourists from abroad has been quite normal for me. I had already been thinking,"What can I do for them?" (Of course, I'm thinking of it today, too.) And the answer was,"I would be a guide, to make their time in Kyoto much more wonderful". At last, the time has come! There are uncountable sightseeing spots in Kyoto, so you will need some help, if you want to see and get around the city efficiently. It is much better with a guide who knows Kyoto very well, just like me! And furthermore, it will lead you to a better understanding of Japanese culture. Don't hesitate to ask me, I can arrange the best trip for you, with a lot of choices and something to fit your taste.read more

Our family of three only had 2 days in Kyoto so we wanted help hitting as many highlights as possible. Keiko grew up in Kyoto and knows it inside and out. She and I went through possible itineraries before our arrival so she had a great itinerary for both of our days and we covered a ton of ground. We also had 2 great lunches with her, which was lovely. She knew the history of every temple and shrine, and helped us understand the Maiko (Gaiko/Geisha) culture and history. Keiko is warm and friendly and so sweet! We are so happy we got to meet her!
Dear Karen, I am very happy to hear from you. When you asked me which area would be good to stay, I recommended Gion area because of the traditional atmosphere. And you enjoyed your stay there. That made me happy and relieved. Even though it was very hot those days, we visited a lit of sites including temples and shrines, I really enjoyed them with you too. I hope your daughter also had fun at Ghibli shop and the monkey park! If you ever come back to Kyoto, I will definitely bring my daughters to see her. So I look forward to seeing you sometime again. Lastly, thank you very much for coming to Kyoto and participating in my tour. I offer my very best wishes to you and your family. Arigatou!! Best regards, Keiko
I had an excellent time in Kyoto being guided by Keiko. Keiko worked closely with me to setup a one day tour of Kyoto. I wanted to see as much as I could in one day and Keiko helped me to do just that. We went to Fushimi Inari, Ryoanji, Kinkakuji, and Nijojo palace plus Keiko was able to add a lunch and a tea ceremony to our busy schedule. During the tour, Keiko explained details and history of each site which were very interesting. Her English is good and communicates well. In addition, in case I hadn't had enough during the tour, Keiko recommended me a place where I can see a Geisha performance. After the tour, Keiko helped me get a taxi to go to the Geisha performance and it was great. I even got to take a picture with a Geisha! In summary, the tour was wonderful. It was a bus... read more
Dear Luis, I am very glad you had fun in Kyoto. That was a hot and busy day, but we could see and visit a lot of sites. I also enjoyed the tea ceremony with you at the end of the tour. About the Geisha performance, I am relieved to hear that you did not miss it and could take a picture with her. There are still a lot of beautiful sites in Kyoto so I hope you would come back sometime again. And I look forward to that day! Lastly, thank you very much for taking part in my tour and I offer my very best wishes to you and your family. Arigato! Best regards, Keiko
Keiko was a great guide for our one day trip in Kyoto. She took us to a number of sites in Kyoto, catering to our interests and allowing us to make any adjustments to her suggested list. Keiko was very easy to communicate with, both in person and through email leading up to the tour. She was very patient and helpful as we love to take many pictures and would give us interesting facts and info about each spot we visited. We would definitely book a tour with her again for future visits in Kyoto.
Dear Arthur, I am very glad you had fun in Kyoto. I really wanted to be your help since you took the trouble to incorporate Kyoto into your trip mainly in Tokyo. I was very happy to hear that you liked Kyoto and would come back sometime again. There are still a lot of beautiful and traditional sites here, so I am looking forward to showing you around sometime again. Lastly thank you very much for taking part in my tour. I offer my very best wishes to the two of you! Best regards, Keiko
I really enjoyed the tour Keiko organized for me during my recent business trip to Kyoto. We started at Nanzen-ji temple then made our way along the path of philosophy to Ginkaku-ji temple. She surprised me with a last minute trip to Nijo-jo Castle at the end of our tour as I was fascinated by the Shogun. I learned so much in such a short time about the history of Buddhism and Shinto from Keiko; her company and our conversations on religion and language were very enjoyable.
Our walking tour with Keiko was excellent. Her knowledge of the Gion area was amazing. Keiko was so friendly and shared so many interesting facts about the history we would have missed if we tried to cover the same area on our own. She made us feel relaxed and really special. We spent the day strolling through Gion, visiting a number of temples, markets and a then participated in a traditional tea ceremony. Even luckily enough to see a traditional Japanese wedding! Keiko is highly recommend. Thank you for such an enjoyable day in Kyoto. Kind regards, Pete Williams
Dear Peter, I am very glad you enjoyed the Gion tour and the tea ceremony. I am relieved to hear that because I wanted to make the tour not only a stroll but a good opportunity to learn Japanese history and culture. I might have talked too detailed things which may be unfamiliar to you but you listened to my story with attention during the tour. I am really thankful for that. Probably you can talk about Gion and tea ceremony to your friends now! I also hope that day became a memorable birthday for your sister. Lastly, thank you very much for participating in my Gion tour and I offer my very best wishes to you, your sister, your family and your Iaido champion friend! Best regards, Keiko
