About

Hello, I am Keiko. I have a national qualification as a English-speaking guide. I was brought up in Kyoto, among a lot of old Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines.(ex. Kiyomizu Temple, Toji Temple, Yasaka Shrine, Heian Shrine, Fushimi Inari Shrine and so on) Some of them are now famous worldwide and on the UNESCO World Heritage List. From childhood, a daily sight with a lot of tourists from abroad has been quite normal for me. I had already been thinking,"What can I do for them?" (Of course, I'm thinking of it today, too.) And the answer was,"I would be a guide, to make their time in Kyoto much more wonderful". At last, the time has come! There are uncountable sightseeing spots in Kyoto, so you will need some help, if you want to see and get around the city efficiently. It is much better with a guide who knows Kyoto very well, just like me! And furthermore, it will lead you to a better understanding of Japanese culture. Don't hesitate to ask me, I can arrange the best trip for you, with a lot of choices and something to fit your taste.

“ First-Rate Guide to Kyoto ”

We spent three full days in and around Kyoto. On our first day, we wanted a tour guide who could introduce Kyoto to us, so that we could spend the next two days touring on our own. Keiko was absolutely terrific! She was extremely knowledgeable and taught us as much about Japanese culture and how to get around Kyoto as she did about the various sights we saw. Keiko is highly recommended!

“ Best Kyoto Tour ”

Great tour guide. Our family spent two days touring all over Kyoto, including a bike ride. She was very well organized, spoke excellent English, and taught us everything we wanted to learn during our visit. Highly recommend touring with Keiko. You will not regret it.

Keiko:

Dear Mark, I am really glad to hear from you, thank you very much. Thanks to your cooperation, we could make it to all of the sites on the itineraries in two days. I was really happy to show you the different kinds of beauty of Kyoto, like Arashiyama, the Golden/Silver Temple, Fushimi Inari and Gion etc. At the last moment, you showed me the photo mentioning “I love Kyoto”. That was the word I wanted to hear since that means you fully enjoyed my hometown. There are lots of other beautiful sites in Kyoto, I will be looking forward to guiding you in those sites again some time. Lastly, thank you so much for coming to Kyoto and choosing me as your guide. I wish all the best for you and your family. I also appreciate your English lesson! Best regards, Keiko

“ Wonderful guide! ”

I highly recommend Keiko! She possesses all the characteristics you would want in a guide...she was polite, pleasant, organized, thorough, patient, knowledgable...and genuinely concerned with our happiness! She made our time in Kyoto a pleasant and memorable experience!

Keiko:

Dear Jim, Thank you very much for your kind words. I really enjoyed those three days with you. You taught me a lot about your city, the entire US and English itself culturally and linguistically. I liked your French lesson, too. That was really interesting. In Kyoto, you especially focused on the Higashiyama area where I grew up. I was glad about that. I hope you enjoyed Arashiyama, tea ceremony, shopping and Japanese food as well. Lastly, thank you so much for coming to Kyoto and giving me your precious time. I wish all the best for you and your family. Best regards, Keiko

“ beautiful Arashiyama. ”

Absolutely wonderful...Keiko is a treasure!

Keiko:

Dear Katie, Thank you very much for your words. I am really glad to hear. I also appreciate your cooperation in a change in the date because of the weather. Thanks to that, we could enjoy Arashiyama in the sun. During the tour, we talked a lot and I am still jealous of your life but I will be doing my best here in Japan. I hope you will also have great days at home. Thank you very much for coming to Kyoto and choosing me as your guide. I will definitely let you know when I visit California some time. Best regards, Keiko

“ Cycling, Walking Bamboo Grove and other sights. ”

Thanks Keiko for a fantastic day. Not only did you provide a great day of exploring but you also set us up with lots of local knowledge for our time in Kyoto. The cycling was easy - anyone who has ridden a bike before can do it and it’s a great way to visit the sights around the Bamboo grove. Being cherry blossom Kyoto was exceptionally busy. Keiko navigated the crowds and look us to some beautiful shrines they were quiet and out of the way. I will definitely be recommending Keiko to others but you need to book her well in advance as she gets booked out during peak seasons.

Keiko:

Dear Andrew, I am glad to hear that you enjoyed Arashiyama in the peak Cherry Blossom season. We could avoid crowds by bike and make it to quiet sites like the moss garden, the temple bell and another small Bamboo Grove. We also fully enjoyed cherry blossoms there. That was the great day for me as well. I hope your trip after this tour went well, too. Thank you very much for coming to Japan from Australia and taking part in my bike tour in Kyoto. I offer my very best wishes to you and hope to see you again some time in Kyoto. Best regards, Keiko
