Hi, this is Yumiko. I welcome you all from all over the world. I myself love traveling and so I understand what travelers want. I also want to be flexible on your request. I am friendly and enjoy meeting people.
My major subjects are art and history. There are plenty of wonderful places to visit in my area Kansai which has major historic cities and offers you many choices to do. ( experience culture like kimono, cooking, fragrance making, Sake factory, etc...) I grew up in Nara which is an ancient capital in Japan, and Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe are my backyard.
I studied art in Polytechnic UK, lived in Hong Kong for 4 years and in the USA for 13 years. Therefore now I understand what good about in Japan more than before.
Though I took out Government certified guide license only a year ago, I have experience of taking Americans, Malaysian Chinese, and Italian to Kyoto, Nara, Hyogo, and Hokkaido.
I am ready to guide you anywhere you want!

My wife and I had the pleasure of spending two days with Yumiko during our recent visit to Japan, with one day spent in Kyoto and another in Nara We found her to be a good communicator and very knowledgeable and our trip was significantly enhanced by the time we spent with her. She was also very easy to work with and highly responsive during the planning stages. I'd certainly recommend contacting her if you're looking for a guide, particularly for Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and surrounding areas.
Hi Kevin, Thank you for a good review. I also enjoy being your guide. Enjoy traveling all over the world! Send regards to your beautiful wife! Yumiko
Thank you so much for your flexibility and efforts in meeting our ambitious itinerary, we did it. And we will not forget our lunch together at the famous tofu restaurant or in our Gion experience showing us the tea and parfait shop. Your warmth and conversations made us feel like we were with a friend.
Hi Carolyn, Thank you for your good review. I’m very happy if you could spend pleasant time with me. Actually I have just started this work. I thought it would be wonderful if I could help introducing Japan to people from the world. You helped me practicing this. I felt so bad I made a mistake. I will be better next time. By the way, did you have a successful trip in Shikoku. I am sure you had interesting experience. Send regards to your husband and friends. Thanks again. Yumiko
Exploring kyoto and nara was exciting and interesting with the help of our tour guide yumiko. She was such a nice tour guide, very accommodating in meeting us at the nearest station to our hotel...very passionate and eager to share informations about the history and different cultures of japan, and it much appreaciated. She is knowledgeable with the transit system..and very resourceful.and her english is excellent.. Her service is very satisfactory. I would definitely recommend her to my friends who want to visit japan.
Hi Sheryl, Thank you for the nice comment. I'm glad if you had good time in Japan. Come again with your children! Yumiko
Yumiko guided me on an enjoyable first day in Kyoto, helping me to get accustomed to using the buses around the city. We first travelled to Kiyomizudera temple, then walked back through Higashiyama to Kodaji temple and Yasaka shrine. The time was spent at my own pace and there were many fascinating shops along the way, with ceramics and wood cut prints, which slowed our pace. Yumiko was very flexible. After a short wander through Gion, we ate noodles at a restaurant near Nishiki followed by a walk through the market where Yumiko explained the many Japanese foods, there was an amazing array! We finished at Nazenji, a little too late, but not unexpectedly as I preferred to go slowly rather than rush around. Yumiko ably described the historical background to the sites and acted as both guide... read more
Hi Andrew, I'm happy that you had a good time. There are more places to visit and things to see in Japan. Please come again! Yumiko
I had a wonderful day out with Kyoto. She was very helpful in securing access to even the most difficult to reach Kyoto temples. She was very flexible in terms of planning the trip and was a delight to spend the day with. I highly recommend hiring her if you are interested in gaining insight into the history and culture of Kyōto.
Thank you, Lily! Come back to Japan with your parents as friends on your next visit. Yumiko
