Hello, this is Yumiko!!
I welcome you all from all over the world.
I myself love traveling and so I understand what travelers want.
I also want to be flexible on your request. I am friendly and enjoy meeting people.
My major subjects are Art and History.
There are plenty of wonderful places to visit in my area Kansai, which has major historic cities and offers you many choices to explore. (experience culture like kimono, cooking, fragrance making, Sake factory, etc...)
I grew up in Nara, an ancient capital in Japan, and Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe are my backyard.
I studied Art in Polytechnic UK, lived in Hong Kong for 4 years and in the USA for 13 years.
Therefore now I understand the charm of Japan more than before.
I have numbers of experience taking Americans, Malaysian Chinese, and Italian to Kyoto, Nara, Hyogo, and Hokkaido.
I am ready to guide you anywhere you want!

Yumiko was the perfect guide for us. She went out of her way to meet us at the train station closer to our hotel and we were off for a grand adventure. Yumiko assembled an excellent itinerary that hit key highlights like Fushimi-Inari, Kiyomizudera and the Gion district, but also some more off the beaten path spots. She was very patient with impromptu stops to shop and picked an excellent tea house for lunch. We had to end a little early due to a sudden thunderstorm, but in total, it was a perfect day exploring Kyoto. Domo Arigato Gozaimashita, Yumiko!
Thank you for your good review. I hope you had a good stay in Kyoto in spite of a sudden thunderstorm on the day for Kawadoko. I really felt sorry I couldn't show you lovely garden in Ginkakuji. So please come back to Japan in the near future. Yumiko
Yumiko was a great guide for Nara. She laid out a great plan for the day and took us to all the sites. I would definitely recommend Yumiko to our friends. Her English was perfect and she had great knowledge of all the sites. We got to witness a Shinto wedding ceremony! It was a super hot day but she packed a lot of great sites in one day. I don’t think we would’ve seen so much on our own. She even found a terrific pizza restaurant to cool off and have lunch. You will not regret hiring her for the day.
Hi Amy, I'm glad you had a good time in Nara.( though incredibly hot and humid ) Please come back to Japan in cooler season and hope to see you again. Thank you. Yumiko
My family of 7 visited Kyoto for one day in August. The bamboo grove, golden temple, and rock garden were amazing. Yumiko was kind and knowledgeable, but very soft spoken and you really had to ask questions to get information. Meeting place was unclear and she walked very fast, rarely looking back to be sure we were all There. We had a 7 year old who walked a bit slower, so it was kind of frustrating.
Yumiko is a great guide! We were in contact from the very start about our itinerary. Due to the hot temperatures in Kyoto, I asked Yumiko to change the itinerary the day of, and she was super accommodating. I had a group of 5 people, two of whom are older, and we were able to pace the tour accordingly with many rest breaks! Would highly recommend Yumiko for anyone in the Kyoto area!
Hi Tim, Thank you for your good review. I hope you also had a successful day in Osaka. Did you enjoy Yakiniku dinner? You are really a good organizer. I wish I could be a help for you. I'm sure you and your family had a good time in Japan. Say hello to your family! Yumiko
Yumiko was a wonderful guide in Kyoto. She really was attuned to our style and needs right away. She is so easy to be with and knowledgeable. She was able to take us through so many Kyoto areas and highlights. Managing time and distance is a great way. She has a lot of energy , speaks English very well and was able to give us the background and flavor of all the sights and areas. Would definitely recommend !
Hi Rona, Thank you for your good review. How was your experience of Ryokan( Japanese Inn )? Could you see the lovely view of Mt. Fuji? I hope you had pleasant experience in Japan. Take care and send regards to your husband. Yumiko
