First, I have to say that Yuichi was a great guide. We booked his "night out on Sapporo" tour. We showed up to our hotel in Sapporo at 3:00pm. Yuichi had already contacted me and my wife while we were in transit between the airport and our hotel to verify that we had made it. He met us at our hotel at 4:45pm as agreed upon. I had asked him to show us to a local eatery that served the famous local Sapporo dish, "Genghis Khan", which is mutton (lamb meat) that you grill yourself. He took us to a great little place that was packed and very traditional. We all were packed into a small room where everyone sat very close and everyone was grilling their lamb. We had a great time. Yuichi also made sure to help us with any translations showed us how to prepare everything. Next, I asked him to take us to a bar that the locals go to. He took us to an awesome local bar. It was a nostalgic type bar that had the atmosphere of 40 years ago. The staff were full of energy and excitement. They had many different types of bar food and cheap beers/sake. The place was packed with local Japanese. It was a great time. While we were walking around Yuichi would also point out places of interest for us to see during the day time. He also would point out restaurants that he recommended for having the best of their specialty, ie: best ramen shop, best yakitori shop, etc. Yuichi was a great guide for our first night in Sapporo. I would definitely recommend him for anyone wanting to go out for an evening/night time trip. Thank you Yuichi for a great time.
Very nice n knowledgeable of the area, he tried very hard to make sure we were enjoy our tour, I will request him to be my next trip in Sapporo
Among the past few private tour guides we had experienced during our trips in Tokyo and Hokkaido, Yuichi came out tops as being very professional and his conversational English was clear and understandable. He kept on providing commentaries of the places, food and unique quirks without us asking / prompting. His comments were also very insightful and interesting. During our toilet breaks while browsing at the tourist souvenir shops, he even continued to provide interesting commentaries on special / favourite food products and drinks which the other private guides did not do. He also made a point to note down all the participants names which the other private guides also did not do. And when my children wanted to play with snow by sliding down, he helped them with the sliding board. Thus he stands out among his peers and I would highly recommend him to be your English speaking private tour guide in Japan. Wished you had been our private tour guide for our past / previous tours in Tokyo and Eastern Hokkaido. Keep up with the great work.
Yuichi-san did a great job being my guide for the day in Sapporo. We covered a lot of ground that I would not have been able to do on my own. Yuichi-san met at my hotel to start the tour. We had already communicated a few times before the date so that Yuichi could put together an itinerary of what I was interested in. My trip to Sapporo was in late October. So I wanted to see the Autumn Leaves Colors. So Yuichi-san suggested we go to Hokkaido University to see the spectacular yellow leaves there. It was AMAZING! Prior to going to Hokkaido University, We went on a short walking tour to Nojo Market and Tanuki Koji Street. I told Yuichi-san that I wanted to have beef and crab while in Sapporo. So he took me to a fantastic Teppanyaki restaurant for beef that I would never would have found on my own. After lunch it was off to Hokkaido Jingu Shrine. It was my lucky day as there was a traditional wedding going on. Was able to sneak in a few pics! Then we took the bus to the Sapporo Beer Museum to sample the Classic beer there. We concluded with dinner at an incredible crab restaurant. At the end of the day, I was amazed with how much we were able to accomplish. Great job Yuichi-san!!! Would definitely recommend Yuichi-san as your private tour guide for the day. Calvin San Francisco, California, USA
Yuichi was a great help in planning the perfect trip to Sapporo with my boyfriend. I already had a pretty solid idea of what I wanted to do in Sapporo but with my limited Japanese I was worried about making the appropriate bookings and reservations. I contacted Yuichi to get his help in creating an itinerary for a day trip to Jozankei and reserving restaurants around Sapporo for our meals. Yuichi was incredibly helpful and attentive. He provided recommendations for other places to go including a wonderful teppenyaki restaurant that I would never have known about without him. When I made an error in the dates I provided resulting in our reservations being made for the wrong day (my mistake, not Yuichi's), he had everything re-booked within an hour of me contacting him about my mistake. Thank you, Yuichi! We had an amazing trip that would not be possible without you!
