Hello!! My name is Tomoko. I’m an interpreter, translator and a flexible personal tour guide. My current base is in Fukuoka. I live here for 11 years. More than 3 decades, I have lived in various places in Japan and US such as some areas in Shizuoka and Gifu, a few areas in Connecticut, California, and New York. Also, I’ve travelled to domestic spots in Japan, overseas like USA, Europe such as Italy, Germany, France, and Switzerland.
Through those valuable experiences, I’ve been fond of meeting diverse people from all over the world and to get to know them and share lots of knowledge, wisdom, information, history with them.
In 2013, I was offered as an consecutive interpreter when 3 guest speakers from US and Mexico came to Japan. Also I was assigned to do escort interpreter. It means I had to take them to tourist spots in Kanto region where I was not familiar with. The experience made my eyes open a lot and changed my whole perspective to be a tour guide.
Every spot or town has profound history behind it. It is quite fascinating. Guests are fascinated by what they feel, see and touch. Since then, I focus on retaining the wide eyed curiosity like a child. I enjoy being a personal tour guide to guests.
Fukuoka is one of the largest city and the most convenient place in terms of access to popular spots, nature, and transportation. There are lots of well-kept secret spots as well. I cater to the every need of it’s guests. Please feel free to contact me and tell me what you would like on your awesome trip in Japan.
On my days off, I love to spend lots of time with my son and do outdoor activities together. For instance, go swimming, hiking, walking, playing badminton, tasting many kinds of gourmet and watch movies like action, comedy, and Sci-Fi.

5 stars are not enough to describe the brilliance and excellence of Tomoko. I would have no hesitation to give her 10 stars judging from our happiness, delightfulness and satisfaction after the wonderful tour guided by Tomoko. Tomoko is absolutely a charming, pretty, lovely and helpful tour guide who possesses very rich knowledge of those places we visited. She responded quickly to our expressed need and expectations on the custom tour and prepared a clear itinerary appropriately for us. Furthermore, she took us to the restaurants with delicious food and reasonable prices which saved us money for more shopping ^^. I highly recommend Tomoko to those who are looking for a knowledgeable, considerate, responsible and cheerful tour guide. Tomoko gave us a very good impression on everythin... read more

Tomoko-san was the best! We were able to tour the less touristy areas of Fukuoka with her. The best part was that the experience felt touring with a friend than a guide! In a day, we were able to go to Yanagawa to take a boat tour, eat authentic Anago, and go up the Atago Shrine overlooking the city; we barely saw any foreign tourists. Best of all, felt like we gained a new friend in Fukuoka.
Hello Don!! Thank you so much for heartwarming reviews and having me as your tour guide. Truly delighted to have lots of conversation with you and your mom!! You guys are spectacular people. And glad to hear that you enjoyed the less touristy areas. Imagine your life gets to normal!! You are such a great gentleman who think and cares about your beloved mother!! I truly respect your all manners and consideration. Hope to see you soon. Tomoko
