Hello!! My name is Tomoko. I’m an interpreter, translator and a flexible personal tour guide. My current base is in Fukuoka. I live here for 11 years. More than 3 decades, I have lived in various places in Japan and US such as some areas in Shizuoka and Gifu, a few areas in Connecticut, California, and New York. Also, I’ve travelled to domestic spots in Japan, overseas like USA, Europe such as Italy, Germany, France, and Switzerland.
Through those valuable experiences, I’ve been fond of meeting diverse people from all over the world and to get to know them and share lots of knowledge, wisdom, information, history with them.
In 2013, I was offered as an consecutive interpreter when 3 guest speakers from US and Mexico came to Japan. Also I was assigned to do escort interpreter. It means I had to take them to tourist spots in Kanto region where I was not familiar with. The experience made my eyes open a lot and changed my whole perspective to be a tour guide.
Every spot or town has profound history behind it. It is quite fascinating. Guests are fascinated by what they feel, see and touch. Since then, I focus on retaining the wide eyed curiosity like a child. I enjoy being a personal tour guide to guests.
Fukuoka is one of the largest city and the most convenient place in terms of access to popular spots, nature, and transportation. There are lots of well-kept secret spots as well. I cater to the every need of it’s guests. Please feel free to contact me and tell me what you would like on your awesome trip in Japan.
On my days off, I love to spend lots of time with my son and do outdoor activities together. For instance, go swimming, hiking, walking, playing badminton, tasting many kinds of gourmet and watch movies like action, comedy, and Sci-Fi.

Tomoko is super friendly and an amazing guide. Nothing was too much trouble or too rushed, and she was always thinking of interesting spots to see along the way. Travelling alone sometimes gets lonely, but meeting Tomoko was instantly like seeing an old friend. Could not have asked for a better guide or better company to spend my time in Fukuoka with. Super highly recommended. ありがとう。

From the time I started to plan our trip, Tomoko was most helpful. She gave us many options to choose from and gave me information so that I could research what would be best for myself, my husband, our 13 year old daughter and nephew. She was so quick to respond to all my questions too. Upon meeting her, I already knew we would enjoy our day. She was very kind and warm and really connected with all of us. She is a winderful guide and a very lovely person. Thank you so much Tomoko! We are so glad we met you!
Hello Ma!! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your wonderful family’s trip. I am so delighted to receive such a heartwarming & lovely comment. Even though the time for the trip was a short and I had to make you walk extra by my mistake, you have such a great heart to be connected with me. I feel like being a member of your family:) I could feel a great value in you as a person and mother. Very delighted to be your guide!! And how lucky I could have met you and your family!!
The experience with Tomoko was great - prior to the trip she was very accommodating and she gave us a lot of options and research in order to make the best out of her trip. She will go the extra mile to help you, even if it isn't covered in the tour! She took our small group to the Yatai Food Stalls, and everything was great. Always a pleasure to have booked with her.
Hi Kim!! Thank you so much for your heartwarming and uplifting feedback!! You are such a lovely & warm person who is willing to learn and experience Japanese food, culture, and history. I enjoyed the time with you and your fellows. Always it is my pleasure to assist you if necessary. I am looking forward to seeing you again!! Hopefully maybe next year:)
Tomoko is an amazing and beautiful person, aside from being an absolutely fantastic guide. If you want a custom tour to suit your exact needs, she's the one! From start to finish, Tomoko went above and beyond to accommodate all our requests. I had given her a general idea of what we wanted to do (such as watching a sumo practice) Tomoko did the research and gave us several options for our custom tour. We were even able to make adjustments on the fly to the itinerary (we ended up going to a different sumo stable rather than our planned one due to the time and proximity) as she had back up plans for whatever situations arose. Tomoko was very knowledgeable with regards to the stories and history of the places we visited, she made the entire time fun and interesting. She was always punctual, a... read more

I am truly fortunate to be able to meet you and get to know you as a person. You are really awesome inside and out!! It was a spectacular & meaningful time we shared. Until you come back here again, I will explore more cuisine shops for you:) Thanks a lot!!
