Hi, I'm Hiroko. I was born in Kyoto and currently live in its suburb. My parents are also from the ancient capital city, so some of its historic places were like my playgrounds when I was a child. Now, as a national certified tour guide, I would like to show you around not only Kyoto but also Osaka and Nara enjoyably and time-effectively. For your reference, I lived in New York, U.S.A. for about 20 years and worked there for about 17 and a half years, so I believe that I will be able to communicate and speak well with you in English. My motto as a guide: If you are happy, I'm happy. Please don't hesitate to ask me to customize your tour. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon!read more

Hiroko was a fabulous guide. She worked extremely hard to craft an agenda that would work well for our family. I have a 9-year-old son that gets bored easily. She was totally flexible and made the whole day feel relaxed while we saw many sights across the city. I would recommend her to anyone. I think all the time she spent in the US makes her extremely relatable in addition to being very knowledgable about the sites and culture of Japan. We used several good guides during our trip but she was the favorite of every member of our family.
Melissa, I am deeply grateful for your kind and generous review. I am also glad to know that you enjoyed the tour in Kyoto. It was a long day, but I felt so relieved that your children did not look too tired at the end of the day. I hope that the tour will be a part of your nice memories of your visit to Japan. Please give my warm regards to your family. I really enjoyed being your guide! All the best, Hiroko
Traveled from Kyoto to Nara together and back to Kyoto. She is a wonderful guide for Nara. Highly recommended!
Miki-san, Thank you very much for your generous review. Your customers were nice, and I really enjoyed being their guide. I look forward to working with you again sometime in the near future. Best, Hiroko
I am so glad I chose Hiroko to help us see the beautiful sites around Kyoto. She had our day planned out including the itineraries, mode of transportation and activities very well. For in fact, my children and I even had extra time to enjoy some green tea ice cream with her, and authentic soba for lunch. Up until now, we are still talking about how we loved these experience. Hiroko has excellent command of English ( she teach English in Japan by the way), and the way she shared with us Kyoto's history and culture, you could tell that she is really passionate and proud with what she does. I know that I made the best decision in choosing Hiroko. She was very patient with my teen age children's questions and made sure that they are comfortable and kept their interest and attention. Dear Anne, Thank you very much for your heart-warming and generous review. I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed the ice cream and soba lunch in Arashiyama. Both you and your children are nice and intelligent, and it was a great pleasure to be your guide in Kyoto. I hope that you will revisit here to experience more in the near future. Please kindly give my warm regards to your children. All the best, Hiroko
Hiroko speaks English very well. She is very knowledgeable of the places we visited and prepared a good itinerary for our 1 day tour of kyoto and nara, taking into account the time and cost of the tour. She never made us rush and very accomodating. We enjoyed her company and it feels like we are traveling with a friend rather than a tour guide.
Dear Imelda, I am deeply grateful for your kind and generous review. I enjoyed your company as well, and I was glad to see you enjoy taking family pictures at each site we visited. I hope that they will bring you nice memories of your visit to Kyoto and Nara when you get back to your country. Please kindly give my warm regards to your cool sons. All the best, Hiroko
We had an absolutely fantastic day in Nara with Hiroko. Our children (ages 10, 8 and 6) loved her and she went out of her way to make the day enjoyable for both them and us. We started by seeing the fawn enclosure at Nara Park, a special event during the time of our visit, and Hiroko guided us on the etiquette of both feeding and managing peacefully with the deer. Another fortunate surprise was that we were able to see a wedding in progress at Kashuga Taisha Shrine and Hiroko explained the traditional Japanese wedding ceremony. She also took us to see parts of the shrine that we would not have discovered on our own - we especially loved the seeing the hidden lantern room! Todaji Temple was an amazing sight with the huge Buddha statue and Hiroko helped us to understand the cultural signific... read more
Thank you very much for your kind and generous review, Cynthia. I am so glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed the historic sites and a lot of deer in Nara. It was a great pleasure to be your guide there. Your children were beautiful, well-mannered and full of energy, and I really enjoyed their company. Their origami skills impressed me for sure, and I will not forget counting the number of the origami dogs Stuart made on the train. Please kindly give my warm regards to Andrew, Beatrix, Cordelia and Stuart. All the best, Hiroko
