My name is Akira.
I am certified national guide interpreter.
I have been living in Tokyo for more than 30 years.
I love walking in the city with no particular plan finding trasures in the streets such as nice ramen noodle restaurants, cafes, funny billboards, and most of all, narrow alleys that remind me of good old days.
I will help you enjoying the days in the city fully and making your vist memorable one.
I am looking forward to seeing you soon.

We had such a wonderful day with Akira. The communication ahead of time before our trip was excellent, he was always responsive to my emails and did a great job planning the day. Of course, when the day came, we had to make a couple of adjustments...and Akira was incredibly flexible, it only took him a couple of minutes to make some suggestions and we were on our way. It was a very hot and humid day so once he saw that my 11-year-old son was tiring, he factored in a number of water breaks and rests, we never once felt rushed. Akira has excellent English skills and we understood each other easily. He didn't just take us to places but explained the history, we learned the proper way to pray and get our fortunes at a couple of the shrines, and definitely have a much better understanding of Japan and Japanese customs than we did before. And, to top it all off, he's a super nice guy! I highly recommend having Akira plan a tour of Tokyo for you, it was one of the highlights of our trip.
Dear Lorne, Thank you so much for the great review. Yes, I am super nice guy when I am being with super nice people like you and your son. I know you had a great time for the rest of your trip in Japan because you and your clever son have good heart that make people treat you nice. Please take care and I hope you have another chance to come back and explore my loving city together. Sincerely, Akira
We were very appreciative of Akira’s guidance. He was prepared and shared terrific details about the places we went. He took great care to make sure we saw Japan and appreciated the culture in great detail. The first day was more traditional and we saw shrines and temples along with the fist market etc. At the end of our trip, we wanted to make sure we saw other parts of the culture and Akira was sure to make that happen. You will not go wrong with Akira and will be very happy with him as your guide. He knew the subway system like the back of his hand and had a lot of great information to share.
Hello Cynthia, Thank you so much for your great review. I’m so happy that all of you enjoyed the city. It was so nice to listen to what you experienced in other city and share your insight of Japan, so nice to see the crime novelist excited about local curry place, so nice to see little samurais swinging swords with happy smile. I hope you come back again and go deep more into my loving city and my people. Dewa Mata! Akira
Akira customized our tour to our needs and desires, providing Japanese history along with local off the beaten path local treasures. Akira took us to a Japanese only Tempura restaurant that allowed us dine, this was absolutely an incredible and unique experience. Akira has become more than a tour but a friend. We thoroughly enjoyed his friendship as well as the uniquely blended tour.
Dear Ralph, Thank you very much for the great review. It make me feel so happy to see you and your happy family, with warm heart and open minds, enjoying my loving city fully. Hope we have another chance to explore the city together and have great time together. Thank you for inviting me to your city. I’m looking forward the day I buy you the best BBQ that your city can offer. Sincerely, Akira
Despite the heat- was able to see everything in Tokyo that we requested for the day and Akira was knowledgable, friendly and patient with our two boys who was part of our family group. It was a good insight into how to get around Tokyo so we could do the rest ourselves . Enjoyed the lunch where locals ate (rather than a tourist centred restaurant ) which was also very reasonable. It was a good insight and worth having a guide as we got feel for the city and saved a lot of time not getting lost in such an amazing place.
Dear Maurice, Thank you so much for the great review. I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed the day though we experienced unprecedented heat. I hope the tour was a good introduction for you and you had great a time for the rest of the trip in Japan. It will always be my pleasure to be a guide for happy family like yours and hope to see you soon. Sincerely, Akira.
We had Akira as our guide for two scorching days in Tokyo. Akira was beyond excellent. He showed flexibility, was courteous, professional and gracious. We made changes on the fly and Akira was able to address all our needs. We cannot recommend Akira higher. I hope our singing at Karyoke did not injure his ears!
Dear Wesley, Thank you very much for the great review. I’m so happy that you enjoyed the days with me. It was my pleasure, and also so much fun, to be a guide for happy family like yours, modest dad, jolly mom, smart daughter (speaks fluent Japanese), and son with pure heart. Your singing was not as bad as you might think (It was my hope that my singing injured your ears!). Karaoke which I think is not an attraction to sing good but to open our heart through singing, no matter how good or bad we sing, just like what we experienced that day. I hope you come back and have another chance to be your guide again. Sincerely, Akira Nakashima
