Hi Everyone! Welcome to Japan.
I am an English-speaking licensed tour guide, and a registered nurse as well.
“Fun Discovering Experience Walking like a Local!” – F-D-E-W-L!
That’s what I suggest.
My work history is as follows.
1) high school teacher - 12 years
2) nurse – 8 years
3) tourism related jobs such as tour conducting, guiding, and back supporting – 7 years
As a tour conductor, I’ve visited about 20 foreign countries (possibly yours?) as well as countless towns in Japan.
I’ve enjoyed these jobs while being a mother of two girls.
Through these experiences with lots of people from different backgrounds, I've found it a great pleasure to share the joy of learning and experiencing something new!
- Tokyo, Kamakura, Hakone, Fuji, Yokohama, Nikko,
I’m a specialist in Tokyo and Kamakura as I have lived and enjoyed walking a lot in those cities for decades. To be honest, even after all my years here, I still enjoy exploring like a tourist as Tokyo is such an enormous city with great diversity and is constantly changing.
Kamakura is a historical small city with lots of hidden beautiful spots. Almost every time I go out, I feel I’m still making new discoveries. That’s why I cannot stop exploring.
I would take you to some neighboring cities like Hakone, Yokohama, and Nikko, which I’m familiar with and fond of.
- Nagoya, Nagano(Kamikochi), Hida (Takayama, Shirakawa-go), Kanazawa, Oita, Yamagata, Akita, etc. if transportation and accommodation covered.
My original family is from Nagoya, so I know their culture and even their language(dialect) well. Later in my life, I have lived in Oita, Kyushu(far south west of Tokyo) for nearly 10 years and traveled a lot in Kyushu. I’ve visited some other local areas deep in the north, too. So, I could share those experiences with you even while having tours in Tokyo.
【Personality and others】
- I love meeting people, listening and talking to them.
- I'm friendly and caring, I hope.
- I love nature. I enjoy hiking and skiing.
- I love seasonal flowers and good local food.
- You will see a lot about Japanese culture, nature, and lifestyle.
What has made you decide to come to Japan, by the way? Is it its scenic beauties, exotic culture, history, food, or what else? Is it your business that has brought (or will bring) you here? Let me have a clue and customize your tour. I will make the best tour suggestion for you.
Why don’t you contact me now? I’m looking forward to seeing you soon!
Thank you! Arigato-gozaimasu!

We had an enjoyable and informative full day Kamakura tour (ex-Tokyo) with Tomoko. She has excellent English and extensive knowledge. We enjoyed her company and we highly recommend her as an excellent reliable guide.
Thank you for posting such a nice review, Margaret! Yes, we were blessed with perfect autumn weather and enjoyed the ancient temple with its beautiful bamboo garden and the shrine with many adorable Japanese children in kimono for their celebration, and of course, the Great Buddha and its nearby Jodo temple. I’m sure you enjoyed the rest of the stay in Japan. Thank you again, Margaret and Brian 😊
Tomoko communicated with us before we arrived and as soon as we arrived in Japan. She created a detailed itinerary based on our interests. Everyday she gave us a recap of what, where and when we did that day, plus a plethora of pictures she had taken of us. It would have been very difficult to navigate the train schedules and stations as newcomers. We feel that we saw twice as much with the help of Tomoko, than if we had gone alone. Tomoko brought us to some awesome local restaurants where we were the only tourists. The food was excellent and the owners very welcoming. Tomoko is a wealth of knowledge and has years of experience as a guide and teacher. We wanted to visit areas that were not normal tourist stops, so she walked with us through back roads and educated us on the Japan... read more
Thank you for your great review, Mark. I really enjoyed guiding you and your daughter. As you both are interested in history and great walkers, we covered more than usual such as Sugimotodera temple, the oldest one in Kamakura. Your inquiries on not just about history but current issues inspired me a lot. Next time you come to Japan, I will definitely take you to the Tempra restaurant again for dinner 😊 My best regards to you, your adorable girl, Ella, and all your family. Thank you again!
Tomoko was punctual. She was organised and planned a great day for us! We were able to see and get a lot done! She took us to the Hakone Shrine, the boat cruise and the volcanic beds. She even gave a lot of advice on what food and souvenirs to get. Would greatly recommend her service to anyone who is travelling to Hakone area.
Thank you for your great review, Teng-san. We were blessed with perfect weather with clear air and shared a lot of beautiful sights of Hakone, Mt. Fuji, and Sagami Bay, which is not always the case. I won’t forget the fun conversation I had with your smart, lovely, inquisitive daughter, Sophie. Best wishes to you and your family. Thank you again. 😊
Tomoko made the trip wonderful. She was helpful even beforehand. Prompt in her replies no matter the time zone or even on weekends. Her service was excellent. She also had back up plans in case weather etc created issues. She was organized and informative. Ask for her to guide you!
Thank you for letting me join part of your special family trip to Japan, and for the great review, Chris! I really enjoyed showing you around Tokyo before your cruise and seeing you again at Yokohama port after the cruise to take you to Kamakura before your flight. The adorable children we saw at Meiji shrine wearing Kimono for their special occasion, the beautiful chrysanthemum flowers in Shinjuku Gyoen, Great Buddha, the beautiful view from Hasedera, and finally, the view of Mt. Fuji… I'll never forget the fun moments shared with you all. Best wishes to you, Kim, Phyllis, Gary, and all of your family.😊
We highly recommend Tomoko. Her organized and yet flexible approach to planning and leading our 1/2 day experience with her made it one of the highlights of our time in Tokyo. Every person in our group of 5 wished we had been able to spend more time with her. Despite our limited time, we did not feel rushed as she helped us make the most of each site, pointing out and explaining specific and unique historic as well as cultural details we might otherwise have missed. She shared lots of information, including photos and other visual information before and after the tour. Tomoko’s genuine interest in other people, her knowledge and enthusiasm for historic and current aspects of Japanese culture AND her sense of humor made her made her an excellent guide for our group.
Thank you for taking your time to post such a nice review, Susan. Yes, I also wished that we could spend more time together! Even though our time was limited, I appreciated it that you clarified what you had done already, where you would visit later, your major interest and what you would not be able to miss before the tour and even during the tour. It’s amazing that we DID cover all those venues without rush, such as Kanda Myojin, Origami Center, Yushima Tenjin, Yanaka, and part of Tokyo National Museum in only 5 hours while enjoying the local Italian restaurant. Thank you again for sharing fun time with you and your great company, Bill, Anne, Pam and Addison. Best wishes! 😊
