Hi Everyone! Welcome to Japan.
I am an English-speaking licensed tour guide, and a registered nurse as well.
“Fun Discovering Experience Walking like a Local!” – F-D-E-W-L!
That’s what I suggest.
My work history is as follows.
1) high school teacher - 12 years
2) nurse – 8 years
3) tourism related jobs such as tour conducting, guiding, and back supporting – 6 years
As a tour conductor, I’ve visited about 20 foreign countries (possibly yours?) as well as countless towns in Japan.
I’ve enjoyed these jobs while being a mother of two girls.
Through these experiences with lots of people from different backgrounds, I've found it a great pleasure to share the joy of learning and experiencing something new!
- Tokyo, Kamakura, Hakone, Yokohama, Nikko,
I’m a specialist in Tokyo and Kamakura as I have lived and enjoyed walking a lot in those cities for decades. To be honest, even after all my years here, I still enjoy exploring like a tourist as Tokyo is such an enormous city with great diversity and is constantly changing.
Kamakura is a historical small city with lots of hidden beautiful spots. Almost every time I go out, I feel I’m still making new discoveries. That’s why I cannot stop exploring.
I would take you to some neighboring cities like Hakone, Yokohama, and Nikko, which I’m familiar with and fond of.
- Nagoya, Nagano(Kamikochi), Hida (Takayama, Shirakawa-go), Kanazawa, Oita, Yamagata, Akita, etc. if transportation and accommodation covered.
My original family is from Nagoya, so I know their culture and even their language(dialect) well. Later in my life, I have lived in Oita, Kyushu(far south west of Tokyo) for nearly 10 years and traveled a lot in Kyushu. I’ve visited some other local areas deep in the north, too. So, I could share those experiences with you even while having tours in Tokyo.
【Personality and others】
- I love meeting people, listening and talking to them.
- I'm friendly and caring, I hope.
- I love nature. I enjoy hiking and skiing.
- I love seasonal flowers and good local food.
- You will see a lot about Japanese culture, nature, and lifestyle.
What has made you decide to come to Japan, by the way? Is it its scenic beauties, exotic culture, history, food, or what else? Is it your business that has brought (or will bring) you here? Let me have a clue and customize your tour. I will make the best tour suggestion for you.
Why don’t you contact me now? I’m looking forward to seeing you soon!
Thank you! Arigato-gozaimasu!

Hi Marisa and Florian! Thank you for taking your time to write such a nice review for me. Yes, we visited so many interesting places just in one day. It’s amazing. I’m proud of you. I’m glad you enjoyed differences of those areas. As you saw, Tokyo has many different faces and features. I genuinely enjoyed the time shared with you. The only thing I regret is that we couldn’t go through the grand gate of Zojoji (Three Emancipation Gate) because it was closed, and we still stay ‘greedy, angry and stupid’ _ hahaha. It’s just a joke. I was impressed how you are nice-hearted and smart. See you someday, again. Take care!😊 Tomoko
Tomoko was amazing in customizing day tour with good time management and selecting places of my interest! She made tour very informative by mixing history, current realities, culture and engaging conversations! Also helped in picking proper lunch place (me being vegetarian) and souvenir shopping! She was punctual, knowledgeable about places, commute, and where to take pictures :) She was able to communicate in effective English and made entire day fun with various random discussions ...which helped learning about Tokyo, people, real estate, challenges and fun aspects! Highly recommend if you have a limited time, want to see what you want and learn from local expert!
Hi Chirag. Thank you very much for writing a nice review for me. I’m glad you enjoyed your only free day in Tokyo. I also enjoyed sharing info and exchange opinions with you about the world we are in. It is one of the fun parts of private tours, isn’t it? It was also nice of you to make it clear before planning what you want to see and what you are not to eat, which was very helpful when I customized your tour. I’m sure you will be back to Japan with your family next time. Hope to see you then. Thank you again. – Tomoko😊
We met Tomoko early in the morning and started off on the subway to explore Tokyo's parks, temples, food, stores and more. She was very knowledgeable about the history and spoke excellent English (she formerly taught English I believe). What is harder to convey adequately is just what a lovely person she was - we thoroughly enjoyed both the day and spending time with her. And it was clear she thoroughly enjoyed teaching interested visitors about her country's history and culture. She did a great job helping us understand the options and make intelligent choices based on the logistics, timing etc. And as she saw our interests she suggested some possible tweaks to the itinerary, and took us to see some real jewels that were just off the beaten paths. We would absolutely go back to her ... read more
Thank you very much for your warm, encouraging review, Maria. Yes! I thoroughly enjoyed your interests and sharing a bit of our culture and history with you. The Soba shop the lady at the info recommended was perfect, wasn’t it? I went to thank her the other day when I just dropped by and she loved it. I was impressed how you selected the best items as souvenirs for all your family members. They were all beautiful and practical, too! Wasn’t it lucky that we had just escaped from thunder and lightning at the end? I believe it was a piece of luck the dancing lion brought to you! Stay lucky and smiling. I’m looking forward to seeing you someday again. – Tomoko😊
I spent a wonderful morning with Tomoko visiting some of the gardens and shrines around the Shinjuku area. If you are looking for a knowledgeable friendly guide to show you around Tokyo I would highly recommend her services.
Hi Wayne! Thank you very much for taking your time to write a nice review while still traveling. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the tour although it was in your short layover and the weather was not quite favorable. I’m impressed by your enthusiasm to make every moment as a chance to take good photos even in the rain. The trees and forests in Meiji Jingu and Shinjuku Gyoen must have loved it!! Me? Of course, I did! See you soon again on your way back home.– Tomoko😊
Tomoko is very knowledgeable and has truly high professionalism standards. I only had a day to spent in Tokyo, I wanted to make the most out of it, and I certainly owe this to Tomoko. I have described her my priorities and she designed a captivating and perfectly balanced day; I have learnt a myriad things about the Japanese history and culture, and also about mundane and practical aspects of the Japanese life. She carries a book with pictures, old prints, maps and text that help her to describe the topic in detail and make a point. She is punctual, energetic, and has a great senses of humor; one day in Tokyo is short, but she made it very memorable for me.
Hi Roxana! Thank you so much for your warm, encouraging review. I’m glad you enjoyed the tour. You can tell easily from the pictures that I really enjoyed it, too! Yes, we laughed a lot together ! I’m impressed by your energy to try to make the most of your limited time and to enjoy it. My best regards to you. See you someday again😊
