Hi Everyone! Welcome to Japan.
I am an English-speaking licensed tour guide, and a registered nurse as well.
“Fun Discovering Experience Walking like a Local!” – F-D-E-W-L!
That’s what I suggest.
My work history is as follows.
1) high school teacher - 12 years
2) nurse – 8 years
3) tourism related jobs such as tour conducting, guiding, and back supporting – 6 years
As a tour conductor, I’ve visited about 20 foreign countries (possibly yours?) as well as countless towns in Japan.
I’ve enjoyed these jobs while being a mother of two girls.
Through these experiences with lots of people from different backgrounds, I've found it a great pleasure to share the joy of learning and experiencing something new!
- Tokyo, Kamakura, Hakone, Fuji, Yokohama, Nikko,
I’m a specialist in Tokyo and Kamakura as I have lived and enjoyed walking a lot in those cities for decades. To be honest, even after all my years here, I still enjoy exploring like a tourist as Tokyo is such an enormous city with great diversity and is constantly changing.
Kamakura is a historical small city with lots of hidden beautiful spots. Almost every time I go out, I feel I’m still making new discoveries. That’s why I cannot stop exploring.
I would take you to some neighboring cities like Hakone, Yokohama, and Nikko, which I’m familiar with and fond of.
- Nagoya, Nagano(Kamikochi), Hida (Takayama, Shirakawa-go), Kanazawa, Oita, Yamagata, Akita, etc. if transportation and accommodation covered.
My original family is from Nagoya, so I know their culture and even their language(dialect) well. Later in my life, I have lived in Oita, Kyushu(far south west of Tokyo) for nearly 10 years and traveled a lot in Kyushu. I’ve visited some other local areas deep in the north, too. So, I could share those experiences with you even while having tours in Tokyo.
【Personality and others】
- I love meeting people, listening and talking to them.
- I'm friendly and caring, I hope.
- I love nature. I enjoy hiking and skiing.
- I love seasonal flowers and good local food.
- You will see a lot about Japanese culture, nature, and lifestyle.
What has made you decide to come to Japan, by the way? Is it its scenic beauties, exotic culture, history, food, or what else? Is it your business that has brought (or will bring) you here? Let me have a clue and customize your tour. I will make the best tour suggestion for you.
Why don’t you contact me now? I’m looking forward to seeing you soon!
Thank you! Arigato-gozaimasu!

My husband and I spent two days with Tomoko as she showed us around Tokyo. We had never been to Japan and only had two days in the city before moving on to Hakuba for a week of skiing. We are so very pleased that we arranged this time with Tomoko. Right from the first contact she demonstrated how well she would look after us. She tailored our trip to show us the things we had expressed an interest in and constantly checked in with us if we wanted to see or experience anything else along the way. As a former teacher, Tomoko is very good at providing detailed information about what she is showing you and you need to be ready for her pop quizzes as you go along ;-) She has a lovely personality and is very nurturing. She is fluent in English and does not hesitate to help you with your tra... read more
Thank you so much Justine for your great review. I’m glad you enjoyed the days in Tokyo and a week of skiing in Hakuba. I wished I could go there, too, with the last train ticket left :) We walked and visited so many places, which made us always hungry. We had a lot of good food, too . The gyoza was superb! Thank you for letting me know your interests, where you stay, and the whole tour plan in Japan. It was helpful when I plan the itinerary. That is one of the fun parts for me, but sometimes I put too many places with the intention of showing as many places as possible. However, as you know, what counts is not the number of places we visit but is how you enjoy them. So, I try to ask my guests how they feel on our way. That’s another fun part of private tours, the fun collaboration! We ... read more
Spent a wonderful two days with Tomoko. Tomoko is very charming and knowledgeable. We told her what we were interested in and she took us to gardens, temples, shrines, markets, museums, and parks which we would have spent days trying to find on our own. We had delicious food, rode the intimidating subway with ease, and learned so much about Japanese culture and history. We enjoyed immensely our two days with Tomoko and I highly recommend her if you want to experience the very best of Japan.
Thank you for your great review! I’m so happy that you enjoyed the 2-day tour with me. It was cold outside, but we walked and did a lot blessed with fine weather. Thank you for telling me your general interests in advance, which made me easier to make up plans. I also thank you for your asking countless questions while we were together. They gave me the chances to reconsider our life, history, customs, etc., which I would take just as a matter of course if not being asked. I will never forget the beautiful crescent we see together on our way back from the Matcha, tea place. That was a real ‘once in a lifetime’ moment 😊
I reached out Tomoko prior to getting to Japan to arrange a one day tour of Hakone for my parents. Tomoko was very responsive and offered other options as well just in case of bad weather. Hakone was a full day trip for my parents - 10 hours - and they had a blast. Tomoko is an attentive guide and a pleasure to be around. I would not hesitate to use her service again the next time we are in Tokyo.
Thank you for taking your time to post a nice review for me. I’m glad that your parents enjoyed the time in Hakone. I really enjoyed the day with Teresa and Eddie, too. They are very pleasant with warm sense of humor and I felt relieved that they seemed to be enjoying the Hokone song I sang. :) We were so lucky to see Mt. Fuji whole day. Thank you for bringing sunshine😊 It would be great if I can guide you next time when you come to Tokyo. Thank you again!
We had a terrific day with the best guide, Tomoko!!! She was kind, knowledgeable, fun and knew exactly how to navigate the cities. Tomoko is a great guide but we have found a new friend for life in her in Japan. We are a mom and 2 college age sons and loved every minute with Tomoko. We can’t wait to come back and visit new places with her. Best decision we made was hiring Tomoko!
Hi Jill! Thank you for your great review. Yes, that was a memorable day and I enjoyed every second with you and your two young gentlemen😊 The day in Kamakura, Enoshiima, and Yokohama was great. We visited many beautiful places and above all had a lot of good local food! All of your smiles and appreciation made them more delicious! Tanoshikatta-desune. (That was fun) and Oishikatta-desune (Everything was yummy!) I’m looking forward to seeing you again😊 Your Japanese friend, Tomoko
We did an 8 hour tour of Tokyo with Tokomo and she was fabulous! So much knowledge and willing to do whatever we wished. We asked many questions and she was so kind and patient with us. We have already recommended her to our family coming to Tokyo. She was able to answer and tell us anything about The history of Japan along with traditions and cultural information. Thank you so muxh TOKOMO!!
Thank you so much for taking your time to post such a nice review, Monique. It was so much fun for me to share the time and experiences with active and inquisitive young people like you and Ryan. The contrast between serene atmosphere of Meiji Jingu shrine and the packed experience in Tsukiji was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour with you, too. I’m looking forward to seeing your family in Tokyo, and of course yourself again someday! 😊
