High reviews for our day with Eiko! From meeting us in our hotel lobby to sending us on our way at the end, Eiko provided us with a tailored experience. She’s knowledgeable, flexible and made our first experience with Tokyo pleasurable and fun. Thank you Eiki!!
Hi Marge and Annie, Thank you very much for this wonderful review! And I would like to thank you again that you allowed me to be a part of your memory of Tokyo. We ate delicious Japanese food, saw interesting archtectures, enjoyed souvenir shopping and moreover we talked a lot! I felt very comfortable throughout our tour maybe because we were just the three women! But maybe next time, please come back to Japan with the family! I'm looking forward to seeing you and your family in the near future! Take care, Eiko
I highly recommend Eiko! She took time to learn what I was interested in before my trip and made sure to include special stops to accommodate my interests. Eiko was very well organized and extremely flexible (because of heavy rains, she was able to adjust our plans so that we didn't get drenched). She even used our travel time to explain cultural influences as well as history of Japan. Due to her organization and quick thinking (changing plans due to the rain), I was able to learn more and see much more of Tokyo than I imagined possible.
Hi Kelley, Thank you very much for taking time to write my review! I appreciate it because I know how busy you are at work and at home, and moreover this is GREAT with 5 stars!! Thank you. :-) I felt very comfortable from the moment I met you to the end of the tour. You must be a tolerant teacher over there. Because of the rainy weather, we could have our own seats while seeing a single act of Kabuki at the theater, we didn't need to wait for the table for lunch! We, since there were just the two of us, talked about many things, but the conversation about 'Umami', the 5th sense of the taste was the most interesting! I would definitly like to see you again in the future! Please come back to Japan wiht your family next time! Take care, Eiko
If I could give 4.5 stars I would. We (my family with two more or less grown sons) were a difficult group to handle, with differing interests and temperaments, but Eiko did an excellent job, with all of us being pleased with the experience. She pushed us a bit hard, but always politely, and for good reason. But she was flexible, altering the tour as circumstances dictated, spoke English very well, and had excellent local knowledge. I would certainly recommend her to most anyone.
Thank you very much for the nice review. It was my pleasure to show you around my favorite Tokyo. I was looking at you as a very happy family even though each one has different interests. I hope you made a lot of nice memories! Again, thanks for having me as your Tokyo guide! Take care! Eiko
My wife and I spent 3 glorious days in December with charming, energetic, flexible and knowledgeable Eiko. We are English speaking, and we were all able to understand each other with ease. Eiko tailored the itinerary for each day to either a central theme, or to a locale in the city. We were specifically interested in museums, architecture, significant shrines and temples, and culture, and she adapted the tours to fit our interests. When we got tired after walking and climbing 18,000 steps on one day, she found interesting spots for us to take breaks. She steered us to some of the most authentic and delicious restaurants to enjoy lunch. And because of her experience living in the US, she was able to help us compare and contrast the culture of Japan with that of the US, and the exciting ci... read more
Hi Edward, Thank you very much for your time and effort to write this wonderful review especially after a long Japan trip! It was definitely one of my most memorable tours in my career. And I cannot say thank you enough for allowing me to be your Tokyo guide for 3 consecutive days. I like Tokyo's beautiful architectures, and also the sceneries that show the contrast of modern and traditional. It was my pleasure to show you them and see Tobby and you smiling and taking pictures of them. You were such a generous, intelligent couple that I was also informed a lot of things though our conversations over 3 days. Thank you so much. And yes! We walked a lot! It was fun to check my smart phone at the end of the tour every day. :-) Please have a nice rest and enjoy the wonderful holiday seasons! ... read more
This was the first time I decided to have a local guide and I think it totally worth it. It was raining but we had a great day together. Eiko always asked me what I preferred and tailored the schedule per the weather condition and my preference. When I told her I was interested in architectural design, she took me to see the new Olympic stadium, which was not on the original schedule. The very reason I would want to have a local tour guide is to have conversations with some one from the area without language barrier. With that being said, having Eiko with me elevated my trip in Tokyo. Eiko was really nice and easy to talk to. She is knowledgeable to answer all my questions, providing insider’s point of view. It was a lot of fun to hear the behind-scene stories. She also has such ... read more
Hi Xinyu! Thank you so much for writing such a nice review so quickly!! First of all let me say thank you that you walked all the way in that heavy rain today.(It was unusual as December.) As a result, we were able to visit some extra places designed by famous architects including the New National Stadium and New Are Center Tokyo. It was a very interesting tour for me too especially because you also taught me many things. Thank you. :-) We ate mochi, onigiri, IMO Buso or sea grapes and pink strawberries. We enjoyed goldfish scooping and shopping at Tokyu Hands. I’m hoping you can come back next year for Tokyo Summer Olympics!! Until then, take care!! See you soon! Eiko
I have traveled the world and have had many tour guides and i have to say that Eiko was one of the best! My husband and i booked with Eiko based on her video and other reviews that she received and she exceeded our expectations and the glowing previous reviews. She was charming, very well informed on the history of Japan and spoke perfect English. I have never been so pleased with a tour guide as I was with Eiko. I would highly recommend her, you will not be disappointed.
Hi Tassie! Thank you for writing the review so quickly in such limited time! And it is so very nice!! You and your husband treated me so nice that I felt that I was with long time friends. :-) We talked a lot about many subjects, but I wished I could have fully enjoyed your husband jokes he told during the tour. I have to keep studying English! :-) Tassie is a beautiful business woman traveling around the world. I definitely would like to see you again soon! Hoping you have a wonderful time in Kyoto, and can find a nice pearl jewelry for your daughter! Take care, Eiko
Eiko was a wonderful guide in Kamakura. We had such a good time. Everyone should do this tour!
Hi Will! It’s very nice to hear from you again. And thank you very much for the wonderful review with 5 stars!! The half day Kamakura tour with all of you was so merry that I felt it much shorter. :-) Your happy smile faces made me very happy too! Again, thank you so much for having me as your Kamakura guide this time! Please come back to Japan again soon! Take care! Eiko P.S Please say ‘Hello’ to Wiky, Bess and Will, her husband for me!!
We spent a wonderful 6 hours with Eiko-san, a very knowledgeable and professional tour guide. She was excellent in arranging the itinerary so that we were able to cover as much as possible in such a short time, but at the same time she was also flexible in accommodating our interest and physical condition (my husband just had a surgery few days before the trip and was not able to walk as fast as he used to). We visited Tokyo Sky Tree (it was good that we started our day tour here because the morning queue line was still short), then Akihabara animae and electronic center (a must see for millenials! ?), and a lunch break at an excellent Vegetarian Ramen in Harajuku area (didn't think Vegan dish could be that tasty!). After lunch we went to Meiji Shrine (beautiful tranquil place, not to be ... read more
Hi Budi and her family!! Thank you so much for such a wonderful review!! I was lucky to have such a blessed guests like you. It’s been so nice weather since you have arrived. Even if it rained or blew heavy wind at night, the very next morning it stopped and the sky became so blue! Thank you for bringing the nice weather!! And I felt very comfortable being with you throughout the tour because you treated me very nicely and showed your interests to my guiding each time. I really appreciate it. Your son is also very nice! I was happy to know him likes Japanese animation! I felt really close to him and all of you to know that you’ve watched many Japanese animation programs such as Captain Tsubasa, Doraemon, etc!! Today’s weather was also very nice and I’m sure you had a good time at Mt. F... read more
I thoroughly enjoyed my day your of the highlights of Tokyo with Eiko! It was the first day of my trip and was a great start for my adventure. Eiko was very flexible with the schedule and provided on the go suggestions. She gave insights into Japanese culture and an introduction on who to navigating the city's transportation. She was very nice to spend the day with.
Hi Asha, Thank you for the review. Your tour day was on Monday and almost all the museums and Japanese gardens plus Kabukiza were closed. Therefore, prior to the tour, we discussed the spots to substitute them. I suggested Tokyo Skytree and you agreed to go there. But on the tour day, you changed your mind because of the entrance fee.. It was a nice sunny day and there was a high possibility to view Mt. Fuji. So I took you to Tokyo metropolitan government office to visit their observatory. However there was a very long waiting line and forced us to give it up.. Im sorry if these were the reasons that you couldn’t fully enjoy.. I really hope you come back to Tokyo again in the future!! Eiko
I was in town on my own for the day with business, and Eiko (rhymes with Seiko) toured me around Tokyo for a good 8 hours of walking / public transport. A shrine, a temple, a museum, lunch, electronics shopping, the fish market, and many other places. She tailored the tour to my interests and was a joy to spend time with. Thanks again Eiko. - Jason
Hi Jason, it’s very nice to hear from you! I hope your flight back home was a comfortable one. Thank you very much for the wonderful review! It made me a big smile. :-) We did/saw many things together, more than I was expecting because I believed you have brought all the fortune! We encountered the special event related to the accession of Japan’s new emperor and signed the book at Meiji shrine, scooped nearly 30 goldfish all together, Maidreamn, New Magnet observatory, etc! And you have told me the mutual things between England and Japan. Thank you for all the information! I definitely would like you to come back to Japan with your family in the near future! Take care and see you again soon! Eiko
What a pleasure it was to have Eiko. Absolutely lovely lady that made our tour very special. When I come back to Tokyo, I would definitely use Eiko as our guide. You can’t go wrong with her. ????
Hi Pete, Your review made me so pleased. Thank you very much!! On the day of our tour, it was raining so hard and we needed to change our itinerary a little but I am glad to know that you had a good time. It was very special to sit and see Kabuki together, visit the replica food shop, draw a fortune telling paper etc! Moreover we talked a LOT. :-) South Africa team won today and I’m happy for you! Let’s cross our fingers! Lastly, please keep on your pleasant journey. And see you again soon! Take care, Eiko
Eiko and I spent one wonderful day in Kamakura, visiting temples and a shrine, eating local food and taking part in a tea ceremony. It was such a great experience, my only regret is not having had more time. If you are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable guide who speaks English perfectly, I recommend booking Eiko.
Hi Melanie, Thank you very much for your precious time to write a review! And I am glad to know you enjoyd the Kamakura tour. It was more like a trip with my long time friend because of your thoughtful attitude. We talked many things. You always listened to my explanation with interests but also shared many things including the Hindu Buddhism. And yes, if we had had more time, we could have visited at least one or two more temples. But let's save it for later! Please keep studying Japanese and come back to Kamakura with your husband! I'm looking forward to seeing you again in the near future!! Wishing you continue your pleasant journey in Japan !! Eiko
Very cheerful personality. Delightful conversations about history, politics, cuisine, religion...The traditional tea ceremony and conversation with the samurai sword-maker enabled us to make wonderful personal connections while learning about time-honored traditions. Also, as a long-term resident of Kamakura, she knows the people, the shops, the restaurants and the right places for photos. Finally, her English was impeccable. We would strongly recommend Eiko to lead you through the sites at Kamakura!
Hi Edward and Tonia! I've just got your review from TripleLights. Thank you so much!! I now know that you flew back to the US safely which is good but at the same time I'm missing you two knowing that you are not in Japan any more. It was a very pleasant tour from the beginning we said 'Hi!' in front of JR Kamakura station to the endding we said 'Good-bye'. Thank you very much for taking the early train! Every thing went so smoothly! Through your questions to the sward smith and the tea master, I was able to learnt many new things with you too. Each of your comment encouradged me a lot. Again, thank you so much for having me as your Kamakura guide! Please come back to Japan again soon!! Take care! Eiko
We had a great couple of days with Eiko. She's well organised, fun, speaks great English and was fantastic with the kids. She even brought a little pack of things to keep them occupied when needed. She pulled together a great itinerary and took us to places that the whole family could enjoy. Highly recommend Eiko - thank you Eiko!
Thank you for having me as your Tokyo and Kamakura guide this time. I was very much pleased to know you could enjoy the tours. And thank you very much for sparing your precious time to write a review, which is wonderful!! How's everybody? I can still picture your lovely children talking to me. :-) We've visited many places and seen many things. We ate delicious food and talked a lot too! I hope these good memories of Japan will be something pleasant to look back on. And Rugby World Cup! Let's keep our fingers crossed!! Thank you again and I'm looking forward to seeing you in the near future! Take care, Eiko
She was personable, kind and very knowledgeable about Tokyo and the sites we visited. She was also very flexible and accommodating. I will recommend her without any hesitation and I will hire her again when I come back to Tokyo
Hi Cynthia, Thank you very much for taking your precious time to write this review! I was really happy to know that you enjoyed the tour yesterday. Thank you for treating me as your friend from the beginning of the tour. I had lived in LA before and I felt very close to you too! It was an 8-hour tour and we walked a lot. After a long walk, Ramen tasted really good, didn't it!! And Shibuya scramble crossing was so excited with full of people in the evening of Saturday. It was the busiest crossing that I've ever seen with my guests! Just one thing, let me appologize that I couldn't complete all the spots I prepared for you yesterday. We enjoyed and stayed a little bit too long at each spot. But I believe that it was the proof that you've enjoyed and had a good time at each spot!! Once a... read more
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time in Hakone thanks to having Eiko-san as our guide. Since the popular Owakudani Valley and ropeway were off limits to tourists during our stay, Eiko emailed us ahead of time to plan an alternate itinerary that would still allow us to experience all of the great things Hakone had to offer. It was a very tight schedule, but she remained flexible throughout the day and always checked with us before making decisions about what to do next, which we appreciated very much. We even asked her if we could include a specific restaurant in our itinerary; not only did she accommodate our request, but she even called the restaurant and made a reservation for us ahead of time. Eiko also knew that we wanted to catch a glimpse of Mt. Fuji, so even though we weren’t ab... read more
Hi Sovan! How are you and your girlfriend?! Thank you so much for such a WONDERFUL review!! It brought me a BIG smile. :-) I think I've told you but let me tell you again that you made me very happy on the day of the tour, saying you liked Hakone better than Kyoto. That was a great great compliment !! It was actually a very nice and enjoyable tour to me too because of you. I appreciated you because you always listened to my explanation very well with interests. And your smile faces you showed me at each spot encouraged me a lot. And the weather; It was not nice with little rain at the beginning but the sky became more blue as time went by. Thank you for choosing me as your Tokyo guide this time. I’m glad the review. Our tour started from your flight change. We were able to see and talk many things including the wedding procession at Meiji shrine, the live piano concert at Metropolitan government office observatory. But on the other hand the pearl shop was closed, couldn’t see Mt. Fuji.. Hoping you come back to Japan again in the near future. Have a safe flight back home! Eiko
Traveling alone for my first business trip to Japan. The wish of understanding the culture of the country, how people live, who they are, basically having a real experience of Tokyo. How do you accomplish all this if you only have one day free? I was extremely lucky to meet Eiko through the Triple Lights website. We started chatting as she wanted to know my objective of hiring a guide. And she was able to tailor on my desires the perfect Tokyo experience. She is absolutely an experienced guide who, thanks to her professionalism, her deep Knowledge of every angle of Tokyo, her adaptability, her friendly attitude made me feel like walking around the city with a friend . We visited historical palaces, temples, crowded streets. We had a taste of amazing local food. We took the metro, w... read more
Hi Christina, Thank you very much for spending your precious time to write a review especially after a long work day. And it is a great great great review and I feel ecstatic!! Thank you!!:-) It was a very hot day but we walked a lot, didn’t we!! The parasol and Tenugui, a cotton cloth worked well. :-) We talked about many things during the tour. I was very happy to see you enjoying the lotus flowers, scenery, food, culture, nature even Japanese history that I introduced you. We shared delicious local food together! And you also taught me many things that you’ve learnt through your business trips in other countries. Thank you!! I was so much comfortable throughout the.tour. My husband, 10 year old son and I booked Eiko twice... First, for our 1st day in Tokyo to help us get acquainted with Suica cards, the transit system, and make train reservations. Our son also requested a visit to the Hokusai museum and some fun character-toy shopping. Eiko is very kind and knowledgeable and knew all the perfect spots to go. We booked her a second day later in our trip to guide us around Hakone and her experience with all the different forms of transportation was much appreciated. From first contact, it was easy to communicate with Eiko and make arrangements. Our son asked me to say “She was really good at being a guide!” Agreed!
Hi Allyson, How is your Japan trip going?! I think it is almost ending, but I’m sure you’ve made a lot of nice memories! Thank you very much for sparing time to write a review especially when you were busy. And it is so nice!! Your son Bodhi was an intelligent young artist!! And It was my pleasure to be with all you for two days. I can easily recall your smile faces, which bring me something warm in my heart. Thank you for having me as your Japan guide! I hope you can come back to Japan soon. And I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon!! Take care, Eiko
We really enjoyed our day with Eiko. She helped give us a great intro to Tokyo, and by the end of the day felt like a family friend. Speaks excellent English due to several years living in the US. We highly recommend her to you as a guide.
Hi Peter, Thank you very much for this wonderful review. You were such an intelligent family that you always showed your interests while listening to my guiding even in the rain. And again, let me apologize that Kabukiza was over crowded, didn’t allow us to see a single act. That was one of the things on your wish list. I hope you could enjoy Kabukiza gallery instead. I can’t say thank you enough for your understanding and generosity. And I felt exactly the same way about your family at the end of our tour!! I hope to see all of you again soon in the near future!! Have a great rest of your Japan trip! And Take care, Arigato gozaimashita !! Eiko
Eiko is a wonderful tour guide for Tokyo! Extended the tour couple hours longer to visit more location and she was very accommodating! She is excellent and highly recommended!
Thank you so much for a great review with 5 stars!! It was also a fun tour to me too especially because I could see Trenton and Alicia's big smaile faces when they found their favorite things about Japan; anime related goods such as Naruto T-shrit, Hello Kitty goods, a samurai sword like umbrella, etc. :-) :-) I was also vrey happy because you liked the soba noodle place that I picked for your lunch! And more and more!! I definitly believe you will come back to Japan soon! Take care, all of you!! Eiko
Our tour was great and we really enjoyed meeting Eiko and having her take us around Tokyo. All of her suggestions were perfect for our small group of first time visitors to Tokyo. We went to Tsukiji fish market and had delicious sushi. We went to Ginza, Asakusa, the Imperial Palace garden, Meiji Temple, Harajuku and Shibuya. We had a wonderful lunch and coffee break as well. The day was very enjoyable with lots of walking and great information shared along the way. The weather the day of our tour was not great (drizzle and rain most of the day), but we still enjoyed everything we saw and did. Eiko did a great job keeping everyone interested even though we had different ages (26 and 15 year old with mom). I would highly recommend a tour with Eiko!!
Hi Debbi, thank you for such a wonderful review!! I’m so much happy to hear you enjoyed the tour especially because Tokyo was your final destination of your Japan trip and you’ve seen and visited many beautiful places. I myself enjoyed the girls only tour very much!! It was rather a long tour and we walked a lot and talked about many subjects. I felt very comfortable throughout our tour. I’m hoping to see you again soon!! Have a safe and comfortable flight back home, Debbi!! Take care, Eiko
Very flexible, easygoing and knowledgeable. From start to end was able to give us a very good glimpse of Tokyo. We are a family of 4 with two young preteens. She was able to make the day enjoyable for the four of us and keep everyone engaged. Highly recommend her!
Hi Leo and his lovely family!! Thank you very much for the fantastic review!! I hope you are enjoying Kyoto right now. :-) I was very worried about our tour because of a typhoon it occurred a night before. But the weather improved so quickly and it became rather a nice day. Thank you for bringing the nice weather!! I definitely believe that you’re a blessed family. We talked a lot and found there were a lot in common. Thank you for sharing things with me! Please enjoy the rest of your Japan trip. And I hope to see you again in the near future! Until then, take care. Eiko
Please book Eiko as a guide. She is warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. She comes prepared with a full itinerary and hits all the things you want to do. We highly recommend Eiko, would book her again for our next trip and will miss her. Thank you Eiko!!
Hi Nick, Thank you very much for such a nice review!! :-) It was just yesterday and I feel like joining your Ghbli tour today. :-) I was very happy to know you could enjoy the tour. Honestly, I, myself enjoyed the tour with you and your wonderful children!! Also, thanks to the nice weather with the beautiful blue sky, every place we visited looked more beautiful and every thing we did together brought bigger smile! And I’m sure I’ll remember you guys whenever I use the chopsticks which you bought me at Meiji shrine. :-) Thank you for having me as your Tokyo guide. Arigato gozaimashita!! Eiko
Eiko is an experienced and well informed guide. She spent a day showing us Tokyo and gave us information about the people and culture that cannot be gleaned from other than a native. Among other places she took us to Tsukiji market where we tasted some of the best sushi we had ever had. Her command of English is excellent. I certainly recommend her to future tourists.
Hi Vandana, Thank you for spending your precious time to write the review. It was just one day out of a long Japan trip to you but I was very happy to meet all of you as your Tokyo guide! I was glad to know you enjoyed sushi at Tsukiji. :-) Tokyo will host 2020 Summer Olympic Games next year. I hope you can come back to Japan!! Once again, thank you for having me as your guide!! Eiko
Eiko was an absolute absolute pleasure to be with. She was informative, funny, extremely knowledgeable and her English was outstanding. And the place she took us for lunch was unique and delicious! We had a perfect day, despite the torrential downpour!
Hi Valerie, thank you very much for such a wonderful review!! It brought me a big smile :-) I’m glad to know you enjoyed the tour (except for the heavy rain). Let me tell you that I felt totally comfortable being with you from the moment we first met at the Palace hotel, Thank you!! All the conversation we had at a lunch place, Masamune swordsmith, on the train etc were so amazing that I sometimes forgot that I was working. :-) I’m hoping you’ll continue your pleasant Japan trip!! And see you again in the near future!! Take care!! Eiko
Eiko was wonderful! She is an excellent guide and her demeanor is great as well. In addition to showing us around Tokyo she assisted me with my marriage engagement plans as well. She could not have been nicer or more helpful on our big trip! I highly recommend her as your personal guide when visiting Tokyo and surrounding areas. I recommend anyone to visit Tokyo and anywhere else in Japan. The Japanese people are warm and welcoming, polite and respectful.
Hi Byron, Thank you very much for the review!!! It was a great pleasure for me to be a guide of your most important trip! When I first heard about your big plan, I felt so excited and determined to make it a really happy tour. And Congratulations!!!!! I wish you a long happy married life!!! I also would like to thank you that you listened to my explanations well with showing your interests each time such as the goldfish scooping place, Tsukiji fish market, the basement floor of the department store. The fruits jelly were delicious! Again, thank you so much for allowing me to be with you for two days!! Please come back to Japan again soon!! Eiko
My family just spent two days being guided through Tokyo by Eiko. She was by far the best tour guide we could have chosen. Even through our messaging prior to coming to Tokyo Eiko was always interested in what we wanted to see and to do in putting our itinerary together. As soon as I messaged her, she would immediately respond back. When we arrived in Tokyo, she had put together an itinerary that both included our wants in addition to cultural experiences we didn’t know to request. Traveling around Tokyo with her was wonderful! We got to see so much more than doing it on our own as she kept us from getting lost. She explained the customs of the people at each stop visited so that we understood what was going on. Eiko felt like a member of our family as she is so personable and welcoming. I... read more
Dear Stephanie, Thank you very much for such a wonderful review!! It was just two days with you and your family but I felt really comfortable throughout the tour as if I’ve known you for a long time. We talked and smiled a lot together!! Your happy faces and reactions made me really happy too!! You always treated me as a part of your family in every place we went and thing we did! We went up Tokyo Skytree, saw a single act of Kabuki, ate yakitori, petted hedgehogs and experienced green tea!! These are unforgettable memories to me too!! Again, thank you for having me as your Tokyo guide. See you again soon, and take care! Arigato gozaimashita! Eiko
Eiko was organised, extremely amicable and flexible in our itinerary. We probably took on too much being our first day after long flight with a 12 year old but she was very understanding. Discovered places we would never see & moved swiftly around towns. Eiko was full of information & would be great to have for multiple days around Tokyo. We did take her away from her family on Mother’s Day, so thank you Eiko, we had a great day.
Hi Mandy! Thank you very much for taking your important time to write a review while you are in Kyoto. I believe that you are having a great time there too. :-) Your review is so very nice. Thank you!! I really enjoyed the tour with all of you, maybe because we were all the girls. :-) We enjoyed eating Japanese food and shopping + chatting. I know you were a little tired but we visited almost all the places on the itinerary of the day! I hope you can come back to Japan in the near future. Again, thank you very much for having me as your Tokyo guide!! Take care! Eiko
We had the pleasure of having Eiko as our guide on an all day tour of Kamakura. She came to Tokyo and met us right on time at our hotel lobby. She took us on the train to Kamakura and had a binder with relevant information for our tour neatly organized in a binder which she reviewed on the train ride. This was our last day in Japan and we had many guides during our trip, but Eiko was by far the best. She took us to the shrines and temples of most interest to us and discussed the customs and history of each. Especially fun was the trip to the tea master for the formal tea ceremony. Just excellent. She made reservations for lunch at a beautiful restaurant. Her English was excellent and she was easy to understand. Our couple of days in Kamakura & Hakone with Eiko were wonderful! Eiko was so welcoming, warm and helpful. She exceeded our expectations, plus her local contacts and knowledge made our experience unique. We can’t recommend Eiko highly enough. Loved Japan and Eiko
Hi Karen, Your review is too nice and puts me on top of Mt. Fuji!! I had a great time too. I’d like to say thank you for having me as your Japan guide for two days. I can still picture Holden in Samurai armer, Richard taking pics on the train in Ducati jacket and you practicing calligraphy! :-) I hope you to come back to Japan to see Mt. Fuji in the near future!! Say hi to everyone for me!! Eiko
Eiko is an excellent guide for this tour to Kamakura. She has excellent knowledge of all the places we visited and was a great help finding our way back to Tokyo.
Hi Helmut, Thank you for the nice review! And thank you for having me as your Kamakura guide on your birthday!! I also felt happy and peaceful throughout the tour maybe because you two were such warm-hearted persons! The sound of the bird we heard together at Gokurakuji temple was beautiful. :-) And we enjoyed your b-day lunch at a Japanease style restaurant. And it was delicious!! I remember everything too! :-) Yes! Please come back to Japan again soon!! Until then, take care!! Eiko
We originally booked Eiko for 3 days but she unfortunately got sick and wasn’t able to join us at first. However, she made sure TripleLights found us another guide, which was a huge relief. Eiko then took us to Kamakura under less than ideal circumstances — it was cold and rainy. But she was cheerful and upbeat the entire time, and my wife said it was the most enjoyable part of our visit to Japan. (It felt more authentically Japanese than Tokyo.) Eiko brought small gifts for my kids, which was hugely appreciated, and because of the forecast she arranged two activities — a calligraphy class and a tea ceremony — to keep us out of the rain. I very much wanted to see this swordsmith, and she called ahead to make sure the gentleman didn’t leave his workshop before we got there. When we couldn’... read more
Hi Albert!! Thank you very much for such a wonderful review! It really is!! Yes. I really wanted to show you around Tokyo too but I got flue...sorry about it. But TripleLights' support was very quick and helpful. I was relieved too. When we could finally meet was a day before you left for Taiwan, your next destination. I was so glad to meet all of you. :-) But the weather in Kamakura was very cold and rainning so hard that I needed to change the itinerary. I was not very sure if you liked the places I took you, but now I am so much happy to know that you enjoyed what we did together in Kamakura!! Again, thank you for having me as your Japan guide, and I'm sincerely hoping to see all of you again in the near future!! Thank you Albert!! Eiko
We had a lovely time with Eiko, her English is very good and local knowledge was excellent. We wouldn't have been able to navigate our way around without her. Thanks Eiko you are a lovely person.
Hi Mark!! It’s so nice to hear from you again!! Thank you so much for the wonderful review! It made me a BIG smile! :-) How was the rest of your tript by car? I hope it went smoothly. All of you were so friendly and nice. I really hope to see you guys again in the near future!! Thank you so much for having me as your Tokyo guide!! Arigato gozaimashita!! Eiko
Eiko is a natural tour guide. Good communication skills, knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, and understanding. Highly recommended. Thank you
Hi Terry, Thank you very much for such a nice review!! We changed the itinerary and went to Ueno Park to see cherry blossoms. I hope you enjoyed it!! Japanese fall is also beautiful. Maybe next time!! :-) Eiko
Eiko was delightful, knowledgable and fun! She also spoke excellent English. Highly recommended
Hi Steaven and Laura!! Thank you very much for a too nice review!! Throughout the tour, I felt very comfortable to be with you may be because you were broad-minded persons. And not only the size of your heart, you were tall too! The tempra restaurant table was too small for us all, wasn't it. :-) We needed to walk for a long time at Meiji shrine. Thank you very much for your patience. The cherry blossoms at Ueno park were so beautiful! And that was the place we knew the new Japanese era name 'Reiwa'!! Thank you for sharing this important moment with us, Japanese people! I'm wishing your daughter will be qualified for 2020 Tokyo summer!! Arigatou gozaimashita!
What a wonderful day we had with Eiko. She showed us all we wanted to see and much more in our 6 hour tour. Her English and her knowledge was fantastic. Would highly recommend Eiko for your guide.
Hi Lee and Naree, thank you very much for having me as your Tokyo guide this time. And your review brought me a big smile!! Im glad you enjoyed the tour. But let me tell you that I enjoyed the jokes Lee told time to time during our tour. ;-) I’m hoping you’ll have a great time in the rest of your Japan trip!! Please come back to Japan again soon!! Eiko
We’ve just spent 2 wonderful days with Eiko (pronounced “A-co”). Eiko is super friendly, outgoing and fun, and also patient and flexible. We are a family of 4 with 2 daughters aged 9 and 10. We spent 1 day on the east side of Tokyo and 1 day on the west side. Eiko met us at our hotel each morning and navigated us through the city with ease - allowing my husband and I to relax and have fun, rather than stressing over the subway lines, station exits and where to cross the streets. Eiko was very sweet with our daughters, encouraging our oldest while she tried to find a used kimono to purchase and chasing after our youngest as she fearlessly forged ahead of our group in the busiest stations. Along the way, Eiko shared interested historical tidbits and also details about daily, regular life in ... read more
Hi Kate! This is a very nice review!! Thank you so much. :-) I'm so glad you enjoyed the tour! Throughout the tour, I also felt really happy because you always showed your interests to the things I explained and the places I took you. The food sample shop, the goldfish place, Cherry blossoms along the Meguro river, Shibuya scramble, the fortune telling paper of Meiji shrine, animal cafe, kimono place and so on!! And the girls were so lovely!! Once again, thank you so much for having me as your Tokyo guide! I'm hopig that the rest of your trip will be a memorable one to all of you!! Please come back to Tokyo soon!! Aunty Eiko is always waiting for you!! :-) Until then, take care! Eiko
Eiko is the perfect guide! She is personable, organized, professional, knowledgeable, and fun. She was very flexible and considerate as we had our 3 year old with us. She felt like part of our family by the end of the day. We would highly recommend her to all!
Hi Tom! I believe all of you are enjoying the rest of Japan trip!! :-) Thank you for such a nice review! :-) Throughout a tour, I felt your, the parents’ love to your daughter, by which I was also touched!! It was my pleasure to be a part of your family. Thank you so much for having me as your Tokyo guide! I sincerely hope to see you all soon!! Eiko
As a woman single traveler, in Japan for the first time, I was looking for more than a local guide to visit places of interest. I wanted to make this an enriching human experience. Eiko was the right person. She is open-minded, kind and generous. She is also very knowledgeable. She tailor-made the day including the Hokusaï temporary exhibition as per my request. We shared a very enjoyable day, able to connect at many levels. She made it a unique experience. It went exactly as I was hoping for. Thank you Eiko-san. お疲つかれ様さました.
Dear Stephanie, it’s great to hear from you again!! And I highly appreciate your wonderful review. Thank you very much!! It was just you and me and we had so much fun together such as visiting Hokusai exhibition, eating rice balls at Tsukiji outer market and having powdered green tea at Hamarikyu garden! I really hope to see you again in the near future!! Until then, take care! Stephanie-san, ありがとうございました！
We love Eiko. We had a great time exploring Tokyo. Eiko is extremely helpful and patient. Thanks Eiko
Thank you so much for the nice review! I was also very happy to be with you for two days. You have wonderful children and I enjoyed all the conversation with them too!! I sincerely hope rest of your Japan trip will be a fantastic one!! See you again , hopefully!! Take care! :-) Eiko
Eiko-san is awesome. We learned so much about Japan, Japanese culture, customs and the people in our two days with her. This will sound like a cliche after reading her other reviews, but at the end of the second day it was truly like being shown around by a family member. She’s thoughtful about your objectives, needs and requirements as a touring party. We highly recommend her. Eiko-san, arigatogozaimashita!
Hi Mayank and his lovely family! :-) Thank you for taking your preciouce time to post the review which is so great!! Those two days with all of you in Tokyo and Kamakura+Enoshima were gift to me. The weather was so nice that we could see beautiful Mt. Fuji above the see from Enoshima! We experienced many things together, such as scooping goldfish, eating veg. ramen and green tea ice cream, fishmarket, front car of the Enoden Line, Tea Ceremony etc!! Of course the tour was so much fun with your pretty girls, but at the same time, your attentive attitude toward learning other culture moved me a lot and rased me as a guide at the same time. Let me tell you my appreciation!! I hope you'll have another chance to visit Japan again soon. So see you then, hopefully!! :-) Arigatogozaimashita! ... read more
Through my emails with Eiko, i thought of her as a warm and thoughtful person. True enough, when we met her this morning , she was friendly and warm. She was professional and thoughtful and was able to tell us about the history of Kamakura and answer the questions that we had. Our journeys on the trains and buses were not boring maybe because we are all women and we had lots to talk about. We enjoyed the sights that Eiko brought us to see and the shopping street that we walked through to try some of the sweets and delicacies. We highly recommend Eiko if you are looking for a guide cos i will certainly look for her again when i come to japan !
Hi Phing! Thank you very much for such a nice review! It was so much fun to be your Kamakura guide this time. We talked a lot of subjects from Japanese history, religion including the Shinto rituals of 7-5-3 and Yabusame to the cost of the Japanese style wedding ceremony. :-) We also visited the tea master’s house, enjoying seeing all the process of the tea ceremony. Thank you for showing your interests each time! I hope you have a safe flight back home. I definitely would like to see you and your mom again in the near future!! Until then, Take care!! Eiko
Eiko has the personality of a good tourguide. She is amiable, patient and works hard to please her clients. She’s prompt in her replies and always thinking what would benefit her clients the most. We had a wonderful experience of Tokyo and Hakone with all the help provided by Eiko considering that my husband has a health issue. We thank TripleLights specially Eiko for the excellent service.
Hi Luna!! Thank you very much for such a wonderful review!! You and your family were all very nice and it was my pleasure to have been with you for two days in Tokyo and Hakone!! Thank you for treating me as a part of your family all the time. We had exchanged a lot of messages about our tour to Hakone before your actual visit to Japan. Although Mt. Fuji was a little too shy that day, I was so happy when we arrived safely at Tokyo station by Shinkansen, bullet train which was your husband’s number 1 wish about the Hakone tour. :-) I’m looking forward to your next trip to Japan!! Take care!! Eiko
We had 2 great days in Tokyo and Kamakura with Eiko. To start with she was very quick to respond to any and all queries as we were getting our customized tour ready to go. She constantly followed up so I always felt a high level of engagement. Her input was fantastic and she went out of her way to accommodate my wife's love of gardens. She was very prompt and courteous and her knowledge of the areas we visited was amazing. I would highly recommend Eiko for any period of time in Tokyo! Thanks Eiko for a wonderful experience!
Hi Peter and Mary!! Thank you so much for such a wonderful review! :-) How is your stomach, Peter? I can’t believe it’s been almost one week since our Kamakura tour. It was so much fun to visit many places and share my favorite things with you. You and Mary always showed great interests to what I explained. You were such a wonderful couple that I felt like we had been friends for a long time by the end of our tour. You were too nice to me. Again, thank you very much for having me as your Tokyo And Kamakura guide! Please come back to Japan again soon!! Take care!! Eiko
Picked up from a Tokyo hotel, a train ride to Kamakura and then 5 hours of intensive tour of main cites, macha tea ceremony and more. Eiko being a very knowledgable thorough guide and a very friendly and accomodating person. Loved every minute. A highly recomended guide.
Hi Oren. Thank you so much for such a wonderful review!! I’m very happy to know that you enjoyed the places I had selected for your tour this time. It was my pleasure to show you my favorite places in Kamakura too. :-) I’m wishing that the rest of your trip will be a great and safe one!! I’m really hoping to see you again! Take care!
As a traveler who has seen 36 countries with my daughter I have to day Eiko is one of the best! Eiko understood the type of travelers we were and allowed us to feel at home in Tokyo. Eiko was full of useful information and she was so kind and patient with us. We loved all of her recommendations. By the end of the tour leaving Eiko was like parting with an old friend. Great Day! Thank you Eiko for showing us as much of Japan as possible!
Hi April and Abby! I think you are on the plane for Thailand now. I'm hoping you are having a comfortable flight. Thank you so much for such a wonderful review especially when you had little time!! I'm very happy to know that you enjoyed the places and things on the itinerary I made for you! It was so hot and humid but you and Abby never complained and walked with me. You were so nice to me too!! We had a lot of fun, and I'm guessing Abby's favorite was the animal cafe! Again, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your memories of Tokyo this time. And I really hope to see you again soon!! Eiko
Our family (me, my wife, and our 19 year old daughter) spent a delightful four days with Eiko touring Tokyo during our recent trip to Japan. Eiko designed a great, customized itinerary which incorporated both our suggestions for sites we wanted to visit and specific locations of interest to our daughter, who is an artist. Eiko has a wonderful sense of humor, was very helpful, and we enjoyed our time with her immensely.
Dear Ed, Trish and Lily, It's so nice to hear from you!! I hope everybody is fine! Thank you very much for such a wonderful review with five stars!! I'm so happy about it! We walked a lot, didn't we?! And we talke and laught a lot too!! The memory of those four days with you and your family will stay in me as a forever treasure. Thanks for having me as your Tokyo guide!! I really hope to see you again in the future. Until then. Take care!!
