We greatly enjoyed our day with Tom. We started by visiting the Senso-ji Buddhist Temple in Asakusa, and wandering through the shopping street with its many crafts and stores. Tom taught us much about Buddhist and Shinto culture and ritual and about Japanese society. Given our interest in traditional crafts, we were extremely happy that Tom arranged a lesson for us in the art of making wood block prints at an excellent shop with skilled craftspeople and artists. We had a lovely lunch and afterward visited the Akihabara neighborhood with its lively youth culture and Sega game complex. As a guide, Tom was friendly, engaging, and thoughtful about our safety, enjoyment and comfort. Tom is generous and very caring and has extremely good communication skills. If we return to Japan, we would love... read more
Susan, I want to thank you for your generous review with kind words. I have been reviewing the tour for myself with fond memories with you and your beautiful family. I have learned a lot in spending the quality time with you !! As we tour guides always say, the greatest joy in our job is meeting with nice people and that' exactly what I fortunately had on July 13. You were consistently kind and caring, which made job rewarding and worthwhile. Japan has 4 wonderful seasons, so I hope you will have an opportunity of enjoying some other seasons next time when you visit Japan. At that time, I look forward to tour guiding you with seasonal beauty of Japan at that time !!! Sincerely, Tom
Tom was wonderful! He met us at our hotel and showed us around Tokyo using the subway. He translated for us, was very flexible and was a tremendous guide. He recommended places for us to see and showed us the best of Tokyo. He has a great knowledge of Japanese history. He is an excellent guide and I highly recommend him to anyone seeing Tokyo for the first time. We couldn't have done any of this without him.
Joanne from Tom, I want to thank you for your kind words for my service. In fact, it is you and your beautiful family who truly encouraged and inspired me to try my best to help you to see some good parts of Japan. I also feel so fortunate to witness such wonderful love among family members. Only pure love can create such friendly and quality relationship among the family members. The time you so kindly allowed me to spend with you was precious. I will be wishing nothing but the very best for you, Geoff and of course for your dear children. All my very best
Our tour of Tokyo was delightful in every way! Tom speaks English very well, and getting on the subway and trains are very tricky without a guide. Tom took photos of us throughout the day, and helped make the experience five stars! Thank you so much Tom! You are such a wonderful person!
Rochelle and Todd from Tom Harada, Your are such a wonderful couple !!! As we professional tour guides say, "The quality of the guests have a great impact to the quality of the guiding we provide". This exactly applies to you. Any tour guides will have an opportunity of giving a good quality quiding because of the "quality" you have. You are generous, intelligent, polite and above all you are so warm hearted. Your comments and questions greatly helped me in trying to provide higher quality guiding. I feel so fortunate having an opportunity of tour guiding you this time. I extend my sincere appreciation for the generous review on Triple Lights Site. We visited Tokyo on 4/22/2019 and our tour guide Tsutomu Harada ( Tom ) was able to show us city from different sides and aspects. We were group of 10 people from USA. It is not easy to guide such a big group of people with different interests for walking tour in such huge city like Tokyo, but Tom found the way how to deal with us and showed us the best and most interesting places in city. He was very intelligent, knowledgeable, professional, polite and calm person. We all had pleasure to spend the whole day with Tom. We went to a lot of different places using JR and metro. He knows city and transportation system very well. His English is perfect, his knowledge is excellent, he is very responsible and friendly person. He also is very caring person. Alla from Tom Harada, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me a great opportunity of tour guiding you, your husband Yuri and wonderful friends. I really appreciate you for helping me to help you spend a good time in Tokyo. In fact, you were a great tour leader who made my job easy and efficient. Without your help, my guiding would not have been as efficient as it was. My sincere thanks for that ! However, more importantly, I was impressed with the warmth with which you treated me so nicely - whatever I have done for you and your group is nothing but a reflection of what you have done and shown to me. The precious time that you so kindly allowed me to spend with you will remain in my mind for a long time. As we tour guides say, the best thing in doin... read more
We really enjoyed our tour with “Tom”. Very personable and thoughtful. Planning and timing of our itinerary was great, allowed us to browse and shop a little while hitting our must-dos. He also went out of his way to provide suggestions for our other activities.
