Welcome to Kyoto. I'm KEI, a national licensed guide.
I have lived and worked in this wonderful city for over 20 years. Kyoto is an amazing city in that it is surrounded by the historical, authentic and beautiful atmosphere.
My educational background is a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial law and a Master’s degree in Buddhism. I spent one year in the US as a student and went to california for our honeymoon in 2013.
Gion Festival, one of the three major festivals in Kyoto, is another my passion. I do appreciate and enjoy the historical activity in summer.

I feel so lucky to find Kei as my tour guide. He made my first trip to Kyoto very enjoyable and much better than being a solitary adventurer. It was a last minute plan to visit Kyoto during cherry blossom season. Many hotels were either fully booked or charged premium price. Kei came out with an idea to stay in a hotel located in a huge Zen temple. This was a unique experience compare to regular hotel stay. By dividing the sightseeing of Kyoto into two half-day tours, I was able to see more places in a comfortable pace. Kei was outstanding, passionate, informative, engaging and was charming companions, as well. The itinerary was very well thought out. In addition to visiting the usual tourist sites, Kei has also obtained a special permission from a Zen monk to let me see the headqua... read more
Hi Julia-san, Thank you for the nice review. It reminds me of the two days with you. I am glad to know that you like Kyoto very much. Kyoto is woth a second trip. I look forward to meeting you again in Kyoto. Thank you again from KEI in KYOTO.
Kei is one of the best tour guides we have ever had. Not only did he take us to places not on our original itinerary, he was also so very knowledgeable about all things Kyoto and Japanese history. There as not a question that we asked that he was not able to answer. We spent the day exploring Kyoto and Kei's abiltiy to assist us in navigating the bus system and provide recommendations for eating was also greatly appreciated. We would highly recommend that if a tour is available that you snap it up with Kei as it will be one to remember and rave about for a long time to come.
Hi Alison Thank you for the message. I did enjoy the tour with your group on the day. It was a nice surprise to encounter the present from a Japanese God on the street in Gion-district ! This year cherry blossom disappeared earlier than usual so it was a great opportunity for your group to enjoy the day. Thank you again from KEI in KYOTO!
