I feel so lucky to find Kei as my tour guide. He made my first trip to Kyoto very enjoyable and much better than being a solitary adventurer. It was a last minute plan to visit Kyoto during cherry blossom season. Many hotels were either fully booked or charged premium price. Kei came out with an idea to stay in a hotel located in a huge Zen temple. This was a unique experience compare to regular hotel stay. By dividing the sightseeing of Kyoto into two half-day tours, I was able to see more places in a comfortable pace. Kei was outstanding, passionate, informative, engaging and was charming companions, as well. The itinerary was very well thought out. In addition to visiting the usual tourist sites, Kei has also obtained a special permission from a Zen monk to let me see the headquarter and its garden in Daitokuji Temple. This behind the scenes tour is the highlight of my trip. Temples can be overwhelming, but Kei pointed out the most significant items and his depth knowledge in Buddhism help me to understand the context and meaning. Thanks for being a gracious host who goes out of your way to make me feel welcome, from the beginning till the end. Walking in the rain on Day 1 of my Kyoto’s visit would have been miserable without your company. A wonderful trip! I would highly recommend Kei to anyone wanting a fun, relaxed, educational holiday with fine local food and drink.
Kei is one of the best tour guides we have ever had. Not only did he take us to places not on our original itinerary, he was also so very knowledgeable about all things Kyoto and Japanese history. There as not a question that we asked that he was not able to answer. We spent the day exploring Kyoto and Kei's abiltiy to assist us in navigating the bus system and provide recommendations for eating was also greatly appreciated. We would highly recommend that if a tour is available that you snap it up with Kei as it will be one to remember and rave about for a long time to come.
